Solid mon overall not to oppressive yet not too broken
Pulse/acid is the best set SoloQue because unless you have a heal slut, a goodra with Muddy has no sustain which is crucial for defenders.
Acid has a larger range and is easier to land so it is preferred more over Whip.
Many Slugs are using potion but honestly full heal is better.
Slug got me to masters this season. Right when I was 1 win away from masters I kept losing with Slug but luckily I had 390 points to prevent 2 loses thanks to the win streaks I had from Slug. I Switched to Gard for the final battle and now I'm in masters hell.

A Slug and a Tree both on the same lane = a dead lane and a easy victory for that team. That's how oppressive slug/tree are together with all of their sustains, stuns, slow and bulk.
I wish this was Slug standing next to me but maybe next time because match making said "Fuck Goodra"

Even with Slug's Ult, Zacian still fucks it over. That's how oppressive this dog is. Zacian basically kicked everyone who was in SS-tier down to S-tier and Zacian took SS-tier for its self alone.

The way that new players are groomed by bot games and being matched with better players early on into thinking that what they're doing is the correct play, and then they'll go on to blame others for their losses instead of reflecting. It has absurd levels of sustain and practically impossible to kill if it has muddy water stacks and a healer pocketing it. Goodra still has respectable damage and sustain comparable to Slowbro, so most dps without a decent level advantage aren't gonna kill it fast enough before reinforcements arrive or before Goodra kills them first.

I don't think Goodra is all that great either, so you could attribute it to people adjusting to it.

Wood Hammer/Horn Leech for maximum CC
You can run either XP Share, focus band, buddy barrier or double stacking, focus band. Both sets have been really good to me. Will-o-Wisp is your best secure early game, especially when you can shotgun it so all three fireballs hit.

Tree is really easy to pick up, so it wont take a lot of games to get to that skill cap. Wood Hammers first hit has a scoop that you can get creative with and angle into allied line of fire.

Ranged pokemon, particularly Sylveon, will farm you for damage. Zacian will still clean your clock early game.

Starts off with some good tips, I personally did Score Shield/Focus Band/EXP Share to juice up my lane partner since EXP Share is so insanely busted. Your best early game combo is WoW -> Branch Poke for secure.

Wood Hammer indeed has a scoop, it puts the enemies at the center of your reticle after your first hit, after which you can Horn Leech into Hammer 2 or just Hammer 2 if you don't want to move them.

Horn Leech is amazing for pushing people off of their goal, so if you see a good angle to push people off then CC them for your teammates, absolutely go in and blast them.

Ult is also a good part of your combo, I try to never lead with it unless it's comboing into something like a Blastoise ult. You can use it at the very end of your skill rotation for another knock up so your opponents are forced to play the game even less.

Potion + Focus lets you play really really aggressively earlygame if your jungler comes to gank your lane so push as much as you can, and if you run Score Shield you can rush to 5 pretty easily to dominate the lane.

For Gard is 6Green/7Black Spoon/Specs/wise (not a fan of goal specs on Gard) with X-speed and Moonblast/psyshock to fuck over Trevs stuns and Zacian.
For Goodra Focus/Muscle/Wise with 6Green/7Black emblems focused on HP. The reason I go for 6/Green/7Black over 6/Green/6White is because reducing the CD on Goodra acid spray/pulse is very crucial. Full-heal is a must so you don't get CC to hell.

At the end the score was 234 to 245 loss via surrender.
