Why was he mistranslated as a Dragon type trainer when he's clearly a Flying type trainer?

? garchomp is flying type?

Nigger I've played japanese version and he's a dragon trainer there, cope
>>
Same with her. She's clearly a Poison type trainer, but they mistranslated her as Ghost type trainer.

That team in particular has 5 Flying types and 4 Dragon types. Ergo, he's a Flying specialist.
>>
That was back when being part of the elite 4 didn't mean you needed to autistically have your whole team from your type.
Lorelei didn't.
Bruno didn't.
Agatha didn't.
And Lance didn't.
>>
>>48839137
Lance is said to be a dragon specialist, not a Dragon-type specialist. Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Charizard, etc. may not be Dragon types, but they're still dragons and thus he can use them. You see similar logic with other dragon trainers, like Iris using Lapras, Aggron, and Archeops, which are not Dragon type, but are based on dinosaurs.

>the embarrassing masters cope that was debunked hundreds of times
Why are lancefags so predictable and pathetic?
>>
>>48839397
How was it debunked? That dialogue was written specifically to debunk the "Lance is a Flying type trainer" meme.
>>
>>48839245
>Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Charizard, etc. may not be Dragon types, but they're still dragons
They don't have the Dragon type, therefore they're not dragons.
Christ, this is such a simple concept to understand, why is it that retards like you can't grasp it and instead cope like aurists? It's embarrassing.
>>
>>48839397
what do you mean "debunked"? none of this is objective fact you retard
>>
>>48839417
>Stantler isn't Deer typed, so it isn't a deer
>Magikarp isn't Fish typed, so it isn't a fish
>Tyrantrum isn't Dinosaur typed, so it isn't a dinosaur
>>
>>48839414
>>48839423
>trainer who uses only flying types and 3 dragonites calls himself a dragon tamer
>when confronted, he copes by saying "b-but just because they don't have the dragon type d-doesn't mean they aren't dragons, ok!?"
Aside from the fact that this is from a spinoff gacha game, that dialogue was meant to give Lance character and make him out to be a coping loser who can't accept that he isn't a dragon specialist.
Ironically enough, this also helped in exposing the retards who spam this screenshot as being coping losers who can't understand what the word "type" means.
>>
>>48839453
No, you're just autistic.
>>
>>48839453
learn what "debunk" means
>>
>>48839417
Ever since "Dragon type energy" was established as a thing, it was made clear that a Pokemon doesn't need to be a literal dragon to be Dragon type.

Alolan Exeggutor isn't a dragon, it just gained Dragon elemental powers.

Regidrago isn't a dragon, it's a golem made out of crystallized dragon-type energy.

Dragalge is a seahorse who uses sunlight to generate Dragon-type energy.

A Pokemon isn't a Dragon type because it is a dragon (though they often overlap), it's a Dragon type because it can manipulate Dragon-type energy.
>>
>>48839453
"Type" is a Pokemon's elemental affinity, not what it is. Dragon types are not literally dragons, they are creatures of the Dragon element, the same way Fire type Pokemon are not literally fire, but creatures of the Fire element.

Those aren't real types, unlike dragons. As I said, this has been debunked. You're coping, and you're doing a terrible job at it, too.

>>48839512

Topkek

Yeah and Gundurr holds no metalic tool since it's not Steel type, right?
>>

>>

Oh you wanna go with groups? Because Pokémon HAS groups for the creatures and the dragon egg group has pokémon like Gyarados, Charizard and Sceptile :^) I guess not all dragons are Dragon Type after all
>>
>>48839137
Because the motif behind his team is dragons, it's really not that hard to understand. You never see him use a Pidgeotto.

Retards. Pokemon are elemental creatures. Their "type" is their element. These are the elemental forces that make up the Pokemon world, and Pokemon are magical creatures comprised of/able to manipulate these elemental forces.

This makes me wonder, was Agatha the original champion of the Kanto League? Her team is quite similar to that of Oak’s scrapped one for his unused battle, they were both contemporaries with Agatha being implied to be a more proficient battler than him which drove them apart. Maybe I’m just grasping at straws here but I feel like it’s very much implied?
>>
>>48839687
I felt like Oak was the original champion.
>>

>>

She's canonically her rival right now, anon, she even talks about how Oak was a softie and a loser who cared more about investigating than battling. Agatha has always been Oak's rival
>>

Go search who can learn Dragon Rage in gen 1.

Lance was a relic of a time when Gym Leaders weren't universally stupid monotype bullshit. I mean he's still Mr Please Don't Have Ice Beam but at least he tried.

He was never translated as a dragon type trainer. Hes called a dragon tamer. Autists focus on type when he doesnt bring it up.
>>
>>48839193
this was totally not just because of a lack of those specific types
>>
>>48842580
The only reason they weren't monotype is because there weren't enough Pokemon to fill out their teams

1. There is no singular pokemon canon anymore, anything can be canon or noncanon depending only if you specify a universe. The main canon right now is the multiverse canon which makes it so that in some sense masters is canon

2. Masters has done a lot to expand on characters and there is nothing theyve done that contradicts how any character was initially introduced. It is a good source for info on a character
>>
>>48843756
b-but masters debunks my headcanons!! therefore it's not real!!!
>>
>>48843756
The multiverse shit was not meant be taken at face value, it was just a handwave explanation for retcons (i.e. why Mega Evolution and the Fairy type was now known worldwide when they were "new discoveries" in XY)
>>
>>48839660
/thread
But thoughtful posts with evidence are ignored as usual
>>
>>48843766
>what is ultra space and ultra wormholes
cope harder. your headcanons will never be real
>>
>>48843815
Im the anon that made the original comment about the multiverse and I dont consider ultra space and ultra wormholes different dimensions. For the most part theyre characterized as areas within deep space and may not be in the same galaxy but are in the same universe. The better example would be the hoopa rings in ORAS and the max lairs in SWSH
>>
>>48843815
An in-universe explanation for retcons doesn't change the fact that they're retcons.
>>
>>48839137
At least he's not oops GameFreak forgot that this region has no fire types lmao type.
>>
>>48843695
How do you know that, though? Bruno could've had a Primeape and a Poliwrath, for instance.
>>
