Once you've played a bit, you've played forever. The gameplay doesn't evolve much and skills aren't that interesting. Additionally, every regular pull gets you vouchers for tokens, and those tokens are the same as pulling a merge that character. The highest rarity only takes 3 merges, so as long as you can pull the character you want once, you don't necessarily need to pull them ever again for full upgrades.
