this game seems to use arknights system where you are only guaranteed at least one 4* in your FIRST 10 pulls on each banner rather, rather than every 10roll
so it's best to just single pull on each banner until you get your 4* and then save

there is a 200 roll spark to get the current rateup character on limited banners, or if you do 200 rolls on the standard banner you get to pick any 5* from the standard pool

newbie missions give picrel guaranteed on day 1, coombait levels are pretty high

the pity carries over in a way. the elite/event points convert to regular and that shop rotates 5* chars that you can buy for 200 points. so if you impulse like a chud you wont be totally fucked long term

the free 5* shinobu seems pretty strong for clearing story and farming trash
her 0 cd basic attack triggers an AOE nuke every time she hits an enemy below 50% hp, including if her attacks bring them below 50%, and she has very high speed so she usually acts first. with enough attack she can aoe oneshot all three waves for easy fast clears

strongest char is a 4* (alice) so pretty much when the game comes out you can just choose your level of reroll autism.

Level 1 reroll would be just do the infinite for ginga + key 3* like grace/roko prolly take you 5-10 min at most. (alice isnt on the infinite banner)
Level 2 reroll would be what i recommend is just use pre reg rolls and go for alice on the elite banner since the rate up 5* is a nice def down role filler compared to the event one and once you get alice you just do infinite like level 1 reroll. This can be easily multi instanced since tutorial is short. this would probably take <1 hour
Level 3 reroll would be go for alice + sirius but this would take probably a day of multi instance rerolling but for autists it could be worth it since you wont lose much if you are behind a day or 3. could also just do alice + any 5 which would take hours but not days.

the only real blow away 5* besides ginga is sirius at launch. 4* like alice and the event one are on par or better in situations. 3* grace is like the best farmer in the game, 3* roko is a fat boss killer, kana/timy and a bunch of other 3* all blast shit and you get one of the best healers on login day 2 (4* morris)

my strat will be to roll for alice and maybe +1 5* but i doubt it cause i know how strong 3/4* are. like another anon said the collab banners are op and those ryza units are top tier so they are easy chars to go for so ill prob chill for them. roll income for f2p is nearly 60 rolls a month minimum btw

Hi JP player here, jp almost half-year anniversary and they doing re-run the first asura event.
Just played the EN and they already unlock the 4th gear farm which in jp we just wait a couple of months to get it.

Here some tips that will(maybe) help you

Story: all you need to progress in story is AG called 04 and grace, they going to help you push at least ch 7or8 story. not much happen in story, it's pretty mid just saying

Daily resource:
exp and gold daily only give once extra rewards per day, just do it once since it's not worth to farm it over and over. for money grind i'll tell you in a second

money:
this game need a TONs of money, but there is a method to aquire them by grinding gear equipments. if you can reach phase 7(6* rarity) of any type, you can grind this by repeat it 30 times with auto ai, then after that you can sell the equipment that has shit stats. 30 run can easily gives you 100k if you didn't get a single good gear. yes it's hard to get a good gear

Gear equipments:
not much to say, just get equipment that good with your AG like attack/crit damage to your carry or health/counter engine to your support/healer. there is also AG that scalling with speed/health so you know what to do.

Anything after you reach lvl 35 and clear 6-10 story:
there is operation called waypoint, its weekly thing that give you goodies such as gacha ticket/energy/skill lvl up mats/ and red crystal for swapping gear stats.

lava rift just clear it 100 floors and get the rewards. its gives you (idk forgot how many) gems and gold chip(for level up AG skills), the rewards itself reset every month and you dont need to clear it again, you just collect it and wait again next month


dont forget to join alliance since they too give you points to trade some goods like stamina pot/skill lvl up/ and 6*AG touka(monthly, also not very good)

pvp just pvp, just do it daily 10 times and get points to exchange items in supply like stamina pots/skill lvl-up/ and 6* AG lydia(decent AG)

Shura. first banner and broken after she get her UE, her damage scalling with HP so big hp dps is so good in this game

Sirius. fast as fuck, she is the most dependable green dps for now(hopely forever)

Cream. your broken healer for pvp, if you saw one in their formation you better back off since she is nuts(or you got speed and sirius you probably fine, i guess)

Revisia. another healer but she can revive your unit and give that unit immunity, that's it

4*:
Alice. you need that extra turn

Morris. your beloved healer that can heal all units every 2 turns if you use her 2nd skill to herself

Ruri. broken dps AG in pvp(par with milvus), she can one shot mostly anything that not green in the field. also she has major role in octopus gear boss(4th one in gear boss challenge)

Colux. she is speed user that can retract enemy's action gauge, good dps with speed are broken in this game

Chihaya. first wellfare unit and she is better than any wellfare unit yet, good debuffer with extra turn when crit hits. also can extends debuff of the target 1 turn.

3*:
Timmy. major roles in pvp, maxed out her speed to 260 and you win(mostly if your dps not choke or anything)

Roco. poison stack, like 5%/poison. you can stack mostly 5-6, if you give her turn with alice and speed her, the enemies will have a bad time. she is too good for low rarity units.

For ryza, you CANNOT maxed out UE equipment any gacha units if you only do it f2p.

also ryza has the best event in the game yet, just save your stamina potion just for this event and grind the fuck out that lottery. at least 500 pots you can spent here can give you a TONS of equipment enhance material since it's pretty hard to get.

FAG collab is shit, you can only maxed out one out of 2 gacha unit, like UE and skill level. just choose wisely what unit you want to maxed out, the other one would have lvl 0 skill and UE tho.
event the story is shit in this collab, not like ryza, this event is so shit that i almost quit because how bad that is.

NTA, I played about 2-3 months on release. It was pretty much speed cleave meta all the way. The units are 90% carbon copies of Epic 7 kits down to having the exact same proc rates and cooldown times. The biggest difference is you don't have ML units here, so Artery Gear rips off kits from E7 ML versions but drops them on RGB units. There are also no artifacts, so a lot of the really broken E7 units that rely on specific artifacts aren't going to be as dominant here.

In practice, you reroll for Alice which is A.Lots, CR push and damage buff to your cleaver. Timmy is Judith, so it's all about stacking speed on her to go first, push Alice, push whatever cleaver you have with attack set and you win.

So the early meta is going to be farming speed gear off the Wyvern rip off, with the Sigret rip off you are getting from the selector. The upside from Epic 7 is that you don't have to RNG your substats by leveling items, you already know what they are as soon as you get the item. Whoever lucks first into getting pieces with 15 speed substats for every slot other than boot gets to dominate arena. There's also a way to move substats from one item to another so if you have 2 chests with 15 speed but no 15 speed hat you can move the substats from one of the chests to a hat, so it's a lot less painful than E7.

Yes, they're using the same randomness as far as I could tell. Though there seems to be some obscure fuckery where the speed stat has non-displayed decimals so your 15 speed could be 15.00 or 15.99.

Grace has 30% free crit rate from her S2 passive so she's really easy to gear. Also as a 3* unit she uses 3* specific skill mats so you can +5 all her skills since they are easily farmable. 5* unit skill mats are much more rare (weekly gated and/or from cash shop packs) so you're not going to want to invest a ton into a 5* just to farm when Grace does it just fine.

i only use 2 kind of formation, one speed cleave with milvus(maxed out timmy 260 spd), and the other one is bruiser/tank with maxed out hp def immunity. i manage to stay at top 70 every week f2p.

did you mean 5*? nope as far i play i cant spark any banner, but early game i think you can save up 200 rolls from honeymoon phase only(rookie mission and other stuff). after banner ends your spark points will convert into shop points that you can trade with 5* AG that rotate each 15 days i think.
if you mean guaranteed 4*, there is guaranteed 1 4* when you go 10 rolls. only 5* that got rate up, 4* are random

It's not a guarantee on just the first 10 rolls on that banner like in Arknights. How it actually works is your every *0 roll is at least a 4*. So 10, 20, so on. You don't have to do 10 draws at once either, it's the same even if you do singles.

Yeah, that's definitely wrong, reads like MTL. It's pretty simple and there's no real way to fuck up. Doing singles is better but if you have over 1800 gems it only lets you do a 10 pull, so it only really applies if you're clearing a story stage and rolling every time you have over 180 - which is actually a good idea here contrary to most gacha because you could get your 5* target on roll 21 and decide not to drop another 9 rolls for a 4*. There's no real benefit out of trying to optimize 4* draws anyway, if you got your 5* target on roll 29 it might make sense to do another roll so you get a 4*, but as long as you're not missing Alice or Ruri it's whatever, most of them are middling, though Ruri dupes are nice.

I can assure you i will forget this and re-ask when the game comes out for real

There's no effective tanks, not early on. Acacia is sort of a budget C.Armin, but without the artifact options tanks had in E7 it's hard to make anything work. Once people get a bit established Della starts being used pretty often on defense to counter cleave, but you need to farm not-Banshee for a counter set so she's not an early investment. They were supposed to release Krau, bunny girl version, but the banner got skipped on JP for some reason.

You can start doing hunts if you can do at least phase 7 which drops 6* gear, before that it's a waste. Progress through the rookie training missions, they give you a couple of 5* attack sets with crit substats which are decent enough. There's a 6* set in stage 6 of the pre-mission briefing but doing that takes a bullshit amount of cat orb stage runs, something like 240 so I wouldn't bother. I'd focus on farming event stages or hard story stages to get fodder and 6* your main team before gambling stamina on hunts.

It's up to you to decide, I like the idea of artery gear but it stinks to high heaven of a quick cash grab. The discord mods pretty much confirmed that most of the mtl isn't going to be fixed. Once people realize how broken some characters are and f2p have no chance of keeping up and there is nothing to do but wyvern and shitty pvp they will bail quickly. I'm going to play it just for the story as long as it stays interesting but there is no way this becomes a core gacha game for me. CS has a lot more going for it and a lot more proven longevity. But neither game is perfect, try them both and decide for yourself.

Counterside is more of a niche game and never managed to catch on and become that popular in the west (a SEA version in English was released a year ago but is slowly dying out now) or in Japan. But the global version that just started is published by the developer itself with no middleman so there's hopes it'll be treated decently and won't be shut down early. It does have very high production quality, amazing music and a very strong focus on story and characters, events go all out to expand the setting and present an enjoyable read. But the gameplay really isn't for everyone hence the lack of popularity in spite of its qualities, so you can only try it for yourself.

Artery Gear goes with the tried and true turn based formula, but the developer is extremely sketchy and the publisher being Billibilli (known for a ton of bullshit) isn't helping. The game is doing mediocrely in China and pretty bad in Japan partly because they decided to screw the JP release over with anti-consumer bullshit which is now being carried over into global. Also their approach to designing characters is to literally steal them from another game wholesale which doesn't feel very encouraging for its future if the devs can't even be fucked to design some units.

Both counterside and artery gear are low-maintenance, counterside lets you skip anything you've 3-starred just like blue archive/princess connect, but there are a few things like dives, raids, strategy arena that you have to watch play out. You can get away with 10-20 minutes a day. Artery gear doesn't let you skip but it can repeat boss/stage runs in the background so you just set it to run 30 times and check back on it in a couple of hours.

Both games have one of those annoying base management minigames where you have to send your units on expeditions every so often but in neither case it's that important unless you want to really tryhard.

It's a super autism thing like corpse dragging in GFL and guild wars in GBF, not something you have to do. You get more summoning tokens for SSR from it but you get tons of those anyway and the gated ones are the awakened summons. Some of these things are just obscure things hardcore players that live for the game do. It's like arguing Genshin is a high investment game because you can do artifact runs or spend 2 hours clearing the entire map for a trickle of gold and exp, but in reality nobody does that and it's a 15 minute no content game. You could argue blue archive is high investment because you could spend all 3 hours on a raid day trying to minmax and fish for crits, or princess connect because you could test comps on guild war bosses for 12 hours if you felt like it or camp arena. But all of those are borderline idle minimal investment games otherwise.

Well now that I have read the thread I will possibly try both CounterSide and Artery Gear and hope one will stick.

Increased the pity from 110 to 200, removed all the desirable characters from the "unlimited" reroll, messed with the systems that let you move gear substats around to make it more restrictive (only between items dropped by the same boss instead of any item).
