My first CC event, playing since Dusk. It was fucking scary at first, but in the end I got all the medals. Only thanks to friends' Surtr for the big one and Thorns for the dailies.

The thing with Silence is not that every enemy is immune to it because they want to phase it out, it's that only EVENT enemies are fully immune to it because the gimmick defines the whole event. Main story chapters come out less now so people often forget them, but the enemies in them are used in events sometimes (like the Ursus Soldiers) and the vast majority of main story enemies are vulnerable to silence, including the new chain-explosion fieldnuking suicide flamethrower enemies in Victoria that are 10x as irritating as the spiders. Think spiders but if they die next to another spider it causes that one to explode as well.

Because most units are usable even if they're not as busted as 6*s. There's not that many genuinely shitty units like Tsukinogi or Rangers. Orchid works fine as a generic slower on most stages that need non-AoE slowing, Shaw works fine on most stages that have holes to push stuff into as long as you equip the proper skill (S2 for heavier stuff, S1 for lighter stuff).
I wouldn't say all the high rarity units are boring looking though, plenty have neat designs.

Tuye has crazy burst heal, and while there's no need for it in the current meta who knows what's gonna happen in a few months.
Bibeak has a nice AoE stun, with a short cooldown and multiple charges. It'll take a while before you have a better option there. Though again, it's not needed right now.

It's two good units and two bad units.
The banner's 4* and 5* are among the worst of their archetypes. Kirara lacks the holding power of her compatriots so she can't sub in for them, and for Indigo, 4* casters have stiff competition she can't compete with units like Click for.
Carnelian and Bena are both good units but not broken. Bena's the only one of her kind and she performs well at it. Carnelian's a 6* caster in a game where arts still shits on most stuff handily even if it has high res, so she works fine.

Probably. I only ever got banned on purpose for posting NSFW (which is to be expected) so they probably just powertrip and blanket ban massive areas. Not like that does anything, looking at the level of quality most /vg/ threads have.

Not to go too offtopic, I bought Ceobe with certs and after finishing S2M3, she's a real beast, it was a worthy investment. S1 and S3 also look good but I'm not sure what exactly is their niche. S1 looks good for stalling but I could just use Ethan or a slower alongside her and S3 looks good but I'm not sure if it's worth it because S2M3 has pretty good skill cycle and damage already.

Eh, not really. Phantom's signature is that he's effectively able to hold two points or gang up on a powerful enemy with two units at once. His versatility comes from him being two units deployable in different positions. What Bena does is she revives in the same position after 20 seconds if her doll doesn't get killed. Which is why I likened her to Peacake, which revives in the same spot after several seconds if Beanstalk isn't killed.
For example, if Phantom was placed in the same position as Bena versus a powerful melee enemy, he would die and his shadow would die as well, leaving the area open, while Bena would switch to her doll and deal additional arts damage while the enemy walked through. Conversely, if Bena was versus a double lane force, she would only be able to handle one, while Phantom would take out both.

Generally it feels like something that's meant to be used on a stage with a variety of enemies. For example, a stage with multiple original Sarkaz (the original ones with low Def and high Res) supported by Defense Crushers. Through this she could swap damage types to handle the Sarkaz and the Crushers equally, but in practice just going full bore on the arts damage works better for general use if the stage has mixed bulk and limited ranged deploy tiles, because of the %-based mechanics of Res over the raw numbers of Def. Well, Toddifons isn't going to stack up damage wise like Rosa is mostly because of her trait being entirely different. Toddifons is a baffling unit honestly, as most heavy enemies (even Sarkaz ones, barring the older ones and a few exceptions) are quite bulky while the only other unit to establish the heavyweight sniper category was Rosa, who ignores a massive portion of defense (60%), more than almost every other unit barring Franka. Toddifons basically took what made the existing member good and stuck a smaller version of it purely on her skill instead of having it always active.
Rosa is a very good unit by the way, don't let Toddifons' mediocreness scare you off of her if you get her. That bear shreds and stalls armored units almost as good as a caster does.

Modules are basically upgrades to operators, giving them things like an extra square of range, an extra summon (for supporter summoners), etc. You need Module Data Blocks (i.e. what the red vouchers are for, since the tiny dripfeed of them from weeklies is not enough), the operator to be a 4* or higher one capable of using a module, and them to be of a certain level before you can even use the things.

I enjoy this game's sidestories for the most part, but I feel that some of them take themselves too seriously and the more light hearted ones are generally more entertaining as a consequence due to their lack of vagueness in the writing. The events have nice little self-contained plots mostly, but some are very bland and boring, like with A Walk in the Dust, which was a very inert plot that wanted to dump a bunch of information on you. I like the worldbuilding in this game and it exudes a very cool feel, but I do think they go overboard sometimes. This isn't Bionicle, we don't have a decade and a bunch of books to establish everything. The PVs and mini-events do a fine job already.
The slow story chapter release cycle makes the main story feel like an afterthought though. I'm glad they wrapped up Reunion within 8 chapters (certainly better than what most gacha stories would've dragged out over 15 to 20) but the slow start of the Victorian arc makes me think we won't see even the halfway point within the next 5 years.
What do you guys think? I know AK's story is maligned by many already so rather than rehashing that and the overt verboseness they write with, do you think they'll eventually pick up the pace on story releases or nah? It feels like to compensate they're also making each story chapter LONGER with more stages and hidden endings, which is neat, but they're spacing it too far apart.
Which is the other question I have:

Would you prefer story chapter releases that are smaller but more frequent, or ones like they are doing now with story chapters that have a lot of content but come so infrequently that it feels like waiting for a novel's sequel?

They do. They are regularly at the forefront of max risk CC clears and are both tremendously powerful solo units. There are so many stages with Kal'tsit as part of a pair clear that it's unreal (remember, the Mon3tr has higher atk when using Command: Meltdown than Surtr does with Twilight AND it's true damage instead of arts, despite being slower and single-target, plus it's extremely quick to redeploy for such a powerful unit), and Mountain is, while ugly and small-headed, one of the best lane holders in the entire game. Difficult for most melee enemies to kill due to his powerful self-healing and ramping up on damage, which lets him crush bulky enemies that other guards would ping off of.

Crystalline Electronic Unit is a max tier item and will always be annoying to get. Since you need 3 assuming you get the free one from this event, you'll only need 9 Coagulating Gels (6 for the advanced gels, 3 for the advanced crystals). Challenge Modes on stages never save autos, so there is no downside to bringing a support unit, unlike a normal stage you may wish to repeat later.
When using recruitment, use this

to ensure you get as many operators above 3* as possible. Gold certs from max potential 4* or higher operators can be eventually traded for 6*s and roll tickets in the shop. 4* dupes also give more green certs than 3* ones.
Arts always scales % wise rather than raw number-wise, so if you have trouble with an enemy that has both high Def and high Res, opting for Arts damage is generally the easier option usually.
Don't ignore Gravel. She is near-mandatory for many stages to do things like soaking damage, holding an enemy briefly, or decoy blocking something from attacking a frail operator from range.
Myrtle is one of the best units in the game. Use her and your DP woes will vanish. Easily obtained from the Vanguard + Healing tag combo (or swap Vanguard for DP-generation, they're basically the same tag).
Amiya must eventually be promoted to E2 to progress to the current final story stage. You don't have to prioritize her given how difficult Chapter 8 is even with a full team of E2's, but just know you can't totally shove her to the side, so don't go in with a mindset of never using her (she's also an alright caster regardless).
3*s and below can be used to great effect as you start out, and Melantha in particular is very strong and cheap to deploy, reaching over 800 atk and over 2000 HP for only 13 DP.
Don't forget to do Annihilation. Main source of rolls.

No, it would be Japanese. The game is Chinese, but it only introduced CN voice options (and only for a select few units, like Exusiai) shortly before the big purge and inspection of all Chinese gacha that caused things like Azur Lane removing 18 ships from the CN one. Most players still use the original JP voices.

I use a combination of Red and Gladiia. Gladiia is my right-side tank but I face her left with S1R7 so when the flower makes the loop around the blue box it gets hit by a pair of charges and dies.

I use Kal'tsit S3 and Gladiia on the left side.
Mon3tr -> Command: Meltdown -> Gladiia ->S3 whenever one spawns, then Mon3tr eats a couple hits from the flying enemies and the sanity meter resets. If not, then Gladiia holds it down while it recovers.
I haven't been able to clear the last 30 enemies though because this only handles one side and when they start spawning on the right side it's all over.

When Kal'tsit is brought on a team, it is not usually to serve as the team healer anon. She's an ultra-heavy DPS unit that very handily kills the Reapers on the left side with her S3 since it bypasses their high Def and 75 Res.

I used an extremely easy way.
Plop down Projekt Red, or some other fast redeploy, down in front of the flower right away. Pull them back as soon as they're in danger of dying.
Let the flower run for a couple of steps, then plop down Gravel in front of it, let them hit each other until Gravel is in danger, then pull her out.
By now the flower will have spent so much time being held up that it's pretty much harmless. I could just let them run by themselves and they'd die before becoming a problem.

It's an effective way, but it does require a manual touch every time.

That's what I meant by them being hardest to use. Those 3 (Mag, Mayer, and DC) are the old summoners. They are based around tactical play and use of their abilities to either clear a level with minimal units (such as a CM with reduced squad size) or to well, function as their class (Supporters) and hold back, clump up, or slow down enemies. Mayer's S2 allows her to solo many levels, but it's difficult and requires precision that is often easier to achieve just by using more regular units.
Scene on the other hand, essentially hands you an unlimited supply of Duelist Guards to plop around the map. She's much easier to use thanks to her more straightforward function, and works as one of the most valuable units in modes like Integrated Strategies. I don't think I need to elaborate on how broken Kal'tsit is of course.

Sideroca's always been an arts guard, she's just forgotten a lot since she had fuck all to do with Darknights Memoir when she debuted and is outclassed by a unit literally everyone has to get (Guard Amiya) in terms of an arts guard, so very few have bothered upgrading her as a consequence. She's got good survivability though.

Platinum is broken if you don't have any 6* snipers, Red's best fast-redeploy, Liskarm is very cool when paired with Lapp, Lappland has silence, and if you're like me and not into males she's your best choice for ranged guard.

Well don't pick Texas, you get one from the missions for free.
I would also cross off Mayer due to her being the only one with a Summon tag in the recruitment pool.
Out of these, Red, Liskarm, Nearl, and Lappland are probably the most useful. Lappland will see a lot of use in future content (not so much now though), Red is a good stop-button when something's needing a quick stun/delay, and Liskarm's talent makes her great for a lot of stages (although she also has many tag combos that offer her in recruitment on the off-chance you get a 5* tag combo). Healing defenders are usually useful except for Hung, so if you don't have Saria then Nearl's a good choice too.
I don't recommend Sora, Croissant, Zima, or Skyfire.
Take it or leave it is Plat, Istina, and Manticore. They're good units, but you already have Blue Poison, 2 other slowers, and Ethan, which are usually sufficient for their respective roles (although Plat can have unique applicability on a few stages and she pierces armor better than many snipers do).
FEater is a shift specialist. Pick her if you use them beyond just pushing stuff into holes (e.g. if you use advanced shifting strategies to delay stuff AND you have Angelina to help already).

Red is different from Gravel.
Gravel's main feature is that she has a colossal bulk boost when deployed and soaks hits for cheap. She can eat hits and effectively hold enemies like this.
Red is used to quickly stun enemies and dies much quicker than Gravel. Her S1 can sometimes be used (which makes her dodge hits and deal more damage, but doesn't stun) but generally you're using her to either stop an enemy briefly or to interrupt a slow, powerful enemy's attack (e.g. if she's dropped right as a Hexed Colossus is about to punch, she resets its attack when stunning it). She also has a minor ability that allows her to pierce the bulk of tanky enemies by raising her minimum damage dealt. Oftentimes you may want to take both, such as in the current Annihilation with the Seaborn enemies.
A similar unit to Red is Kafka, although Kafka's sleep prevents enemies from being damaged it holds them for 2 seconds more.

I'd go with Lappland, she's still the most reliable source of silence. Silence is a lot less useful these days since the devs are actively countering it by making most enemies' special abilities unaffected by silence, but when it works, it saves you a hell lot of trouble. Eg this current event, silence works on the suicide boats.

Nearl's another good choice, can't go wrong with more healing defenders.

4*s have a lot of good ones. Immediate leveling should always go to Myrtle though (even if you have Elysium). I find Beanstalk to also be uniquely useful, providing both ranged damage and a block early on.
Out of those 6*s, Dusk would probably be the best there since she's really one of the only good AoE casters. Skadi works well WITH Gladiia but is otherwise low priority. Siege is still a good vanguard, not absolutely broken but she can carry in several future annihilation stages and any content with a lot of weak enemies. Magallan is unusual and often somewhat hard to use, she can solo stages sometimes but it takes practice. Shining can be a huge enabler on some stages but Medics aren't even always needed when you have healing defenders.
Hoshi, Mostima, and Mizuki aren't something I'd place as high priority. They are generally niche (Normal Defenders can usually sub in cheaper options, Mostima's not as good as Dusk usually, and Mizuki is a controller specialist, which are usually more useful in very high level CC content where you want to stall for LONG periods without getting hit, rather than regular content where any good arts dps will handle shit).

Frankly I don't see why you'd need to level any of these if you don't have a need for them.
Gladiia is super useful for the next CC at high risk if that's something of interest.
Aside from that I'm rather partial to Siege and Magallan, Maggie's hard to get a hang of and it doesn't get all that much easier, it's all knowledge and stage dependent, but she delivers big returns.
Siege is a good hybrid damage dealer and vanguard but that's not something of high value anymore. Her s3 can cheese with good rng, and being a helidrop with Bagpipe is nice.
Shining is a pretty "safe" choice since she's just a good general medic.
As for 4*s, not many will change your life unless you somehow haven't heard of Myrtle this far in the game.
Sussuro, Shirayuki, Gravel, Ethan, May, Pinecone, and Jaye are all rather good at what they do.

Obviously Myrtle I already have. Gravel I leveled up her up because she has always been my hero since Wolumonde. But the other 4*s you mentioned, I haven't leveled them like Ethan, May, Pricone, etc.

The reason I was asking is because I almost got fucked with DH-S-2. Like I was thinking if I just leveled some of my 3* Defenders I wouldn't be in the position where I had to do much trial and error. Siege and Bagpipe fill completely different niches (for now at least, there'll be more overlap with Bagpipe's module, but she's still quite different). Yes, Siege is still useful with Bag there. Bag's best use when not killing stuff is actually just to give Myrtle SP though, since she's a DP-Kill Vanguard. If you are getting Bag though, definitely prioritize her over Siege.
Yes Dusk is still useful even if you have Eyja. I don't use her as often as Eyja, but she's got the damage and skills to back up her class. She can do things like hitting a huge area for higher damage than normal, or creating a field of blockers that clump up enemies and make them more susceptible to clearing with her attacks. Also extremely high atk.

Do you have Ptilopsis? She handles the part with the barrage of divers well. Anyway yeah like the other anon said it's probably just the issue with how you use the units you have. If you really need to, there are low rarity clear guides out there.

They have slightly different uses. Siege having block 2 and a true AOE on her S2 means you can generally plonk her down in a lane and she'll handle the early fodder rush no problem while you focus on setting up your other operators. Bagpipe speeds up Myrtle and delivers the big damage but you'll need to keep an eye on her lane and manage her cooldowns to deal with larger waves.

Having a 1 block unit with 40 cooldown and no real other means of survival or damage output try to hold a lane is kinda a bad call. If you want her to "hold a lane" for any substantial amount of time, it has to be s2, and if she's on s3, it's generally more advised to retreat her for another situation unless she's really in a low threat/low traffic lane.

I don't think so. At least the way I use Ethan-types is to put them ahead of the team by themselves. This one does more damage to low health targets, so should ideally sit behind the team rather than in front. And with S3 he kills himself so he needs a healer as well.

As with all controller specialists except for Kirara, Mizuki's primary use is on high level content with strong melee enemies that need to be held in place (in this case, with his S2).
He lacks the massive group bind of Ethan or AoE stun/slow of Manticore and exchanges this for more arts damage (and low SP cost) on his S2 or increased range on his S3 with a penalty for using it on smaller groups meant to be handled with a different skill.
Unfortunately, this means that while he works better in regular content than his compatriots, he actually performs worse in high level content compared to them. Lacking a constant, fully-effective crowd stopper is not what his archetype wants, and the extra damage is meaningless in high CC risks where everything takes chip damage regardless. In fact, focus on slowass area damage over crowd control is what makes Kirara one of the worst units in the game, so it's certainly not helping Mizuki. His damage is actually quite good with S2 to the point where he can sub in for arts DPS on maps with limited ranged tiles though, and his range increase on S3 means when deployed properly he'll rarely ever have to worry about the penalty.

In short, Mizuki's not bad, but he's not replacing his lower rarity counterparts in content they were key for. He deals great damage and holds small smatterings of powerful enemies, but the S3 penalty prevents him from replacing Manticore as the primary stun controller specialist, and while his S2's target restriction means he'll kill more stuff than Ethan but won't exactly hold back a horde like Ethan can. He's niche, but hey, that's Specialists.

Police academy lasts up to 24 and there's no way Chen made chief inspector in a year or two. Medical school goes up to 26 so that goes for accomplished doctors as well.
