Just got my ship to 10k. It seems like the best way to start is to go to civilization overview on the bottom left, change to knowledge talent tab at the bottom, and get 3 levels or so for the "treasure smelling" node. It gives out plenty of stuff to upgrade ship with, also remember to put high BP spirits into each of the spots available in the ship so that you get bonuses.

Speaking of ship stats, what's everyone doing for form upgrades? Official Discord seemed to agree that defense (Concealed) was the best path to take. It looks like it also gives drop bonuses to the items for all forms as it goes. But that was like 12 hours ago and I can't tell if anyone still feels that way or not. Some of the upgrades work across all forms, but it seems like capping out Concealed and rolling with that is the best option since it should help speed up upgrades for all three.
