This pic is kinda a meme but what are the actual red flags for when a mobile game is planning to EOS soon?
>>1289851>losing revenue>when the story for it actually ends>it's just a quick cashgrab that they have no plans to stay longterm and it's usually more p2w any other reason is pure speculation
Suddenly barely having any posts on a previously active twitter.
Releasing very broken characters, ones that quite literally do everything in their skill descriptions.
>square enix>anime adaption
>>1289851>certain company with their trigger happy EOS button>revenue>lack of updates or communication from dev>keeps repeating old events
>>1289851cant believe the persona 5 gacha that is currently being made is already EoS
>>1289916>Certain company with their trigger happy EOS buttonKonami or Squeenix? Also adding to this, pretty much anything released on Nutaku/Johren dies super fast but that might be coincidence more than anything
>>1289907Fire Emblem Heroes should’ve died at least 2 years ago going by this
>>1289907If that's all it takes then games like Granblue Fantasy would have dead at least twenty times over by now.
>>1290003>>1289979Im not sure about Gran, but Blazing had PVP that did lock a good chunk of its f2p gems behind it. The 2 units in question did do EVERYTHING compared to any other batch of PVP focused units. On top of having multi-target hitting specials that had the range of 90% of your screen, their specials inflicted at least 2-3 different debuffs that included getting stunned, and had abilities that would refund them the chakra of their already cheap specials, which would literally fill their bar back up to using their ultras, and your dead in 2 turns. Every fight was a literal coin flip as to who wins the speed tie at the start, or whose debuffs didn't proc. Then the next few banners got worse, which made it obvious they were trying to cash in on the last few pvp seasons before announcing EOS.FEHs pvp is nonexistent to me as you dont get orbs out of it.
>>1289851Any signs of budget cuts during a game's lifespan-especially if it's something other than ditching english voices-is a pretty good sign that EoS is on its way.For example, Idola Phantasy Star Saga used to have 3 sets of sprites per character-base, Law, and Chaos (complete with different ultimate animations), but after a year/season 1 had passed, they switched to 3d models, so new characters would only have the base model. Besides that, all they released was the exact same characters but in different elements until the game shut down. And then there's Alice Fiction: first they ditched the English voices, then they stopped voicing some event stories altogether, and then they announced maintenance mode shortly after wrapping up their 1-year anniversary, which was spread across 4 events (I know maintenance mode technically isn't EoS, but let's be real here, it may as well be). I noticed that after they released Freesia in February, the art direction shifted from streetwear like in Arknights and Neural Cloud to something more fantasy-like (and more fanservicey), more akin to the characters in their sister game, Crash Fever. Looking back, that was probably an act of desperationIt's probably worth noting that both of these games were 2d, with a heavy emphasis on animation similar to FGO. There's a reason most game companies either cheap out on 2d or don't bother with it at all.>>1290235>FEHs pvp is nonexistent to me as you dont get orbs out of it.You mean summoner Duels? Because Arena does net you orbs
>>1290458Arena isn’t real time, and you get the most out of it by just doing 5 fights a week. Hell I only do it like 1 or 2 a week and still get 4 orbs.
>>1289851Persona really does ruin everything doesn't it?Im shocked WOTV is still alive.
>>1290458This reminds me of Dragalia Lost, I got into the game at the 1st anni and a few months after that they stopped giving 5* characters fully voice-acted character stories
When the story writers have nothing planned long-term. But what will be the signs of it? Repeated revival events?
With Genshin and Honkers Star Rail,do you think the company will EOS Impact 3rd any time soon? It feels like the steam is running out rapidly at this point
Depends on how well Star Rail is doing.
FFRK GL dropped certain language supports, and both GL and JP dropped Raids, and it started to crib GUMI's greedy weapon dupe and stamp model but it trucked along for another two years in GL and still goes on in JP.Magireco GL sped up and pumped back to back banners and loads of out of season events. However Touhou Lostword did the same thing and cut out free friends from events yet it's still going.
>>1289851They're published by Crunchyroll. How do you manage to fuck up Princess Connect, man
>skips a holiday or reruns a holiday with no new holiday content>game suddenly adds ad watching>powercreep starts going faster and faster, so fast that established end game accounts start falling behind
