They learned a valuable lesson from First Soldier. That was available for download before servers went live but it just said "Could not connect to servers" so it got reviewbombed before it even came out because it "didn't work" so now it specifically says that servers are not yet live and gives the time when you actually can play. The game is launching soon and would like to share my experience playing this during its closed beta. I would say the game is grindy so if thats not your thing then you've been warned. The difficulty even in story stages ramps up pretty quick an aoe healing weapon is highly recommended and for farming stages having 1-2 aoe weapons would help with faster clear times so if you plan on rerolling definitely aim for those. As for other things skins have stats in this game and they are obtained through the gacha 36000 gems to guarantee a skin if you have very bad luck, materia upgrading has rng stats similar to games like sw and e7, no comments on the cash shop/iap/microtransactions as it was not available during the beta, gacha rates are 7% for 5 star weapons more or less.

Or just go Apocalypse plus another physical sword like Buster for unga bunga.

By the way, upgrading a weapon from 3* with parts instead of waiting for a higher rarity to drop from the gacha isn't as wasteful as you might think. The most you lose is 11 parts for that weapon, that's it. 1 part for upgrading from 3* to 4* instead of pulling it, and 10 parts for upgrading from 4* to 5*.

After I unlocked the FS story I committed my resources to that because I already know FF7 and wanted to see this new stuff so I spent energy and materials to get my power level up and then realized I have to advance in the FF7 story to unlock materia enhancement and synthesis and summons all that and my Cloud/Tifa/Aerith all suck at the moment. Cloud is doing okay because I limit broke his sword for the missions but the other two are gonna need some grinding.
I'm enjoying myself so I feel willing to open the wallet in a vaccum. Support a product I like, get more out of it in the short term. The prices are just unhinged though. Any other game out there has a season pass, $10 for 60 days. Here we have $14 for 30.The coolguy grind faster passes last for only a week. So just to update on some of the rumors of paywalls and shit out there: They're greatly exaggerated. I have now completed all 3 stories without spending a single crystal or ticket, even the ones I got for free. I had to do a bit of grinding but I think I used maybe 4 energy drinks, I still have 100 banked. Been playing pretty casually overall. Reno is a sudden spike in power level, jumping about 4k power above the previous stage but that still only asks that you and your equips come out to like level 25. My team is comfortable in "hard" content but nowhere near "very hard" and shit like bottom floor of the tower but I expect that will come soon enough. Really the only thing I would consider properly pay to win is the ability to craft new materia instantly with premium items but that's also only a value at very high power levels. There's some obnoxious monetization present and the game is very expensive if you do go the "premium" route, but it's very accessible to f2p.

I'll warn you that AoE damage does have a use but it is low on the priority list and that as far as I can tell you cannot "silence" bosses so that ability is kinda weak, though again not entirely useless.

Biggest problem I have with this game? The game wants you to burns through stamina potions but each fight takes 2-3 minutes. It pretty much wants you to keep your phone on 2-3 hours per day or so.Also COOP is GBF tier of annoying. You better farm those 2k medals!

It's not a bug, just poorly designed. The guaranteed Tifa/Red XIII or Cloud/Barret weapon listed in the stamp book isn't added to your gift box like the other rewards, instead it shows up in the last slot of the 10 pull that earned you the stamp.

The co-op is a great way to level up faster, you can get in co-op battles if you are a little bit underpowered and your character will grow really fast with 3x stamina on. It's doing wonders for the event.

There's three in the top tier: Tifa has the highest healing per second in the game, but she gets it by spamming a lower potency, lower cost move so it can cost her other actions across the fight. Aerith has the highest single heal in the game and a healing LB so she has the burst healing. Matt is right below Aerith, having the same potency of healing move, but just having his stats not multiply into it as well because they're spread a bit more towards things like physical attack, but his barrier LB can offset this if you're just looking at raw survivability and also he can lean into the damage aspect with his default LB which Aerith can't. Then on damage Cloud with his weeb outfit is the best damage dealer, but it's lightning aspected so in certain fights his usefulness will fall off a cliff. All-around might call for Physical non magic and Zack had the edge there. 3rd slot depends on your first 2. A debuffer is my priority but if you're using Tifa she'll be able to spam her debuff LB like it was an ATB move so you don't need a separate one. Also Matt's healing weapon has a debuff extention ability so you might just toss his debuff weapon on him and make him full support. If you went for the Cloud setup, Red can push him higher with the summer weapon. Personally I like Lucia and she can actually flex a lot too based on your others even if she's not "the best". The thing about this topic though is it only matters for whales where everything can be equal. Even if you spend money, you might wind up pulling only one Fairy Tale for Aerith but 5 Wizard Staffs, meanwhile you have a juicy Crystal Sword in your inventory already, so it would be stupid to force Aerith into healing and Cloud into damage.

In an environment where you have every weapon at white 5 rarity and every outfit and all that, there will be certain bests, but it's the difference between an A and an A+, it's there and you can be proud of it but it's not gonna make for a different GPA. If you're asking like what she evokes from the series, the First Soldier BR had "Styles" instead of jobs and it's pretty easy to see Ranger for her. Weapons to look out for would probably be Black Rifle, it can inflict "Silence" which doesn't work on bosses as far as I know but it still does help just stop sahagins from jumping or things like that and she's the only character who can do it as of now. Pulse Gun is good, the damage multiplier is 500 AoE versus the 690 of V39 but it has more Boost Attack R Ability points and also Wind Attack so it multiplies out better. Mad Minute has a good debuff and desirable R Abilities as well
Should i focus on Cloud's Masamune or the Maritime Sword? Masa has a dupe on it but not Maritime. The other main sword i have on him is Hardedge with 2 dupes.
