Unless you're using the strategy of putting an extra break type defense gunner on the attack machine as your damage dealer, no. Their role is usually to buff and break shield, so they won't be doing much damage in the first place.

I cleaned out both of the shops for the month 5-6 days ago. At least for the boss battles you have the option of playing the easier ones for milestone mission gems while saving stamina, but tournaments are just free shit that piles up every day.
