You use them by equipping them in the combo card tab of your character menu and performing the skills in order within a set time of the previous skill, with the second skill onward gaining bonus damage. The more skills that are on the cards, the stronger the final skill will be so 6 slot ones are the best as they enable a theoretical maximum of 1.8x damage for the final skill.Normal ones are purely random, but can be edited at the place where you go to Dan skills. They can contain skills you can't edit onto them (because you can only edit on skills that you have at dan 3 and it can contain danless skills) Premium ones are random and can only be changed by premium card slot change items, which will randomly change the slot you select. These are types you can usually get from NPCs or dungeon guide and stuff like that. Gold ones are specially made fixed cards that come in actually usable formats 100% of the time, but there are only a certain a number of types and you can't change the slots. In the past they have held events where you could make your own but that probably isn't happening again. They can be completely ignored by the common player, because they only last for 30 days and can only be revived or extended by having paid service active or buying items from commerce/people sell on AH. "Free" crit damage on a single piece of gear is a no-brainer when trying to optimize damage for multiple skillsets that use different enchants and reforges. Also, it makes rolling reforges and enchants safer since you don't have to agonize over rerolling or selling if you get a great reforge that you don't need. It also works as an investment if/when they go up in price. The same principles apply if the meta drastically shifts in the future and the set effect remains good but new enchants and reforges are needed.

From there, you dip your toes into Tech Duinn (Advanced). Once you can easily clear Advanced in a party that isn't just carrying you and are very familiar with the mechanics, you start joining Tech Duinn Elite runs. The jump in difficulty between Advanced and Elite is much larger than Normal to Advanced. The spawns, mechanics, and enemy behavior also changes to increase the difficulty.After you get comfortable with Tech Duinn Elite, you start also running Crom Bas, which has a very large range of difficulty and mechanics to learn. I suggest your first Crom Bas run is with a party that can carry you through it and explain what to do.Theta is at the level of Crom Bas, but is a raid boss fight and isn't run very often.During all of this, you can see how far you get into Fahmes. Mag Mell sits at around veteran dungeon difficulty, but is very rarely run due to the rewards not being relevant to 99% of players besides one ridiculously rare drop.There is other content that is worth doing like Hasidim raids, but you need very specific skills and gear for that, as well as a raid group.At the end of everything, you AFK in Dunbarton with stupidly expensive gear and fashion to show everyone as >>868015 said.As for learning it, finding a party that will teach you is the best way, but the wiki is serviceable and youtube videos are very helpful. I made these in 2014/2015 for Judgment Blade back when VHM Girg gave the best in slot damage title, and never lost one point. You'll lose dura much more quickly using magic in regular content, but they will still last you years unless you use them all day every day. Even Korea is having difficulty with Glen Verna, so don't expect to craft the new gloves any time soon.

The Kanan alpha build works just fine for a good selection of things. If you use the Kanan Launcher, you might need to renew the login credentials.
