Went dumpster diving recently and found some nice goodies for all soku enthusiasts:
>SWRSokuRoll
New version of SokuRoll. Compatible with the old version, but it's still recommended to install it. No it doesn't improve the netcode any further, but it adds a lot of QoL changes. It adds ping display, lets you change the Delay in the Character Select Screen, and it also automatically sets optimal values for delay/rollback frames, so us retards who forget to press + or - during a match don't have to worry about that anymore. It also allows you to manually change the rollback value now but I still don't know how that works.
>DesyncProtector
Self-explanatory, fixes all desyncs caused by weather. Both players need to have the module installed for it to take effect in a match, so it's probably for the best if as many people as possible have this installed as well. It also fixes desyncs for spectators and desyncs in new replays.
>DSoundFix
Fixes DSound related crashes, for example when you plug or unplug headphones or another audio device.
>ControlPnP
Allows you to connect controllers without having to restart the game.
>WindowResizer
Fixes the game's broken implementation of fullscreen mode, and many other issues related to it. Also lets you freely resize windows and a bunch of other stuff. Replaces the old WindowResizer module, and any other modules that modify the game's fullscreen mode for that matter.
>PracticeEx
Implements a real Training Mode for all your autistic practice needs. It lets you record macros, make the dummy react with certain options, and pretty much everything you would expect from a normal fighting game training mode in 2022.

Download link: https://files.catbox.moe/opbyoa.zip

All of these are installed just like any other SWRSToys modules: Drag the folder into Modules and add the .dll address to SWRSToys.ini. Or just drag the new .dll into the old folder if you already had a previous version installed.

SOKU2 should include its own fix. I tried installing all those modules and it seems to work just fine. It does say it may not be compatible with SokuEngine or ReDelay so maybe you have one of those enabled.
Do you get any error message when it crashes? It's probably gonna be easier to tell what's going wrong if you post that or a screencap of your SWRSToys.ini.

I'm surprised you have it working just fine; I have both SokuEngine and ReDelay disabled, and the normal soku without the SOKU2 stuff enabled works with no issues (and even SOKU2 with just the non-SOKU2 characters also works with no issues), so I dont know what could be wrong other than the newest beta (SOKU2 BETA 6-20-2022 V2) just flat out not working right

The error message doesn't say much by the way, it basically just says without any details:
>Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
>Runtime Error!
>This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
>Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Also as a side-note, I've been getting a "Failed loading modules/InGameHostlist/InGameHostlist.dll: file does not exist" lately out of nowhere, and the lobby hasn't been working
Is this happening to everyone? Does it just mean the lobby server is temporarily down and the dll will magically reappear eventually?

Kind of old news but i recently got to personally verify that PoFV/adonis2 does in fact work with proxypunch for people that can't portforward like me, so that's neat. Just remembered that someone asked a long while back and i don't think there was ever an actual answer
Speaking of which, i can host soku/IaMP/PoFV or whatever else in about 30 mins so if anyone's up just reply with a game to host
>>
>>658864
Try disabling the discord thing first. If that doesn't work either then you might wanna disable everything else and then enable it gradually until you find the culprit.
>Also as a side-note, I've been getting a "Failed loading modules/InGameHostlist/InGameHostlist.dll: file does not exist" lately out of nowhere, and the lobby hasn't been working
Some antivirus flag it as malware, probably because it connects you to a third party server where all the information is hosted. You should add the game's directory as an exclusion zone in your antivirus/Wangblows Defender and then reinstall the module (https://github.com/SokuDev/InGameHostlist/releases/tag/v1.3) to make sure nothing else messes with it. So yes, >>657459 was right on the money all along.

I'm sorry for the late reply to this, your advice worked on both counts! Thank you very much
I don't know if this is the latest version of InGamHostlist since this one isn't letting me see the "Playing" list while hosting unlike whichever version I had, but I'm sticking with this one as long as it works

Also, if anyone wants to know an incredibly silly and impractical but cool looking 3751 damage sekibanki corner combo I just labbed out in practice mode, here you are:
>corner, sekibanki on okuu (and probably any other tall enough character), level 0 d214, head floating close enough to your body and not too forward, probably needs either practice mode infinite orbs or magic potion
>j5a 5aaa 5b 5c hjc7 D6 j5a 5aaa 5b d214 d214 (2nd hit of 5b) 5aaa 5b d214 d214 (2nd hit of 5b) 5aaaa
There's also a non-d214 version that does *3920* damage, but much more precise and I've only been able to get it to work once:
>simply 5aaa 5b 5c 44 66 5aaa 5b 5c 44 66 5aaa 5b 5c 44 66 5aaaa
I would upload webms if I remembered how to record my screen and edit webms, but it's been too long since I've done anything like that

GGs these matches were better but I still hate pic related
Also something I don't understand is why I can get hit while jumping and blocking with non anti-air moves?
>>
>>669011
Ggs, thanks for playing. I see you got some more complex combos and blockstrings going, at least every so often. Just a bit of extra damage can go a long way
Also just out of curiosity, can you not host even with autopunch? I know of at least one other anon that is also learning the game but can't host at all. If you can host then you'll probably get a few more people to play as well
>why I can get hit while jumping and blocking with non anti-air moves?
Every character is completely defenseless during the first few (i think 5?) frames of their jump, regardless of whether a move hits air unblockable or not. If you are just holding up back during random hits you WILL get swatted out of the air before you can even block
>but I still hate pic related
You can actually rob entire rounds by getting the most bullshit crossups with that thing. She unironically needs it though

>Also just out of curiosity, can you not host even with autopunch? I know of at least one other anon that is also learning the game but can't host at all. If you can host then you'll probably get a few more people to play as well
Well because my ISP gave me an IP with NAT hosting normally is impossible and autopunch works sometimes, but if there's another anon with the same issue as me I'll try hosting and see what happens
>Every character is completely defenseless during the first few (i think 5?) frames of their jump, regardless of whether a move hits air unblockable or not. If you are just holding up back during random hits you WILL get swatted out of the air before you can even block

Not >>676170 but if you haven't portforwarded then you need to use autopunch to host, and lunarcast still won't be able to tell if you are hosting or not. If you don't wanna mess with router settings then just use autopunch, you can find it in the OP. There's also a version of the game that comes with it preinstalled and preloaded, but the link in the OP is already dead for some reason
>>
>>676173
I don't know how portforwarding is but I'm gonna look it up right now to try and figure it out

Actually i think i got it, try downloading the game from here instead: https://mega.nz/file/0hgCma6I#zLYPYi4BtpZ_N_Hpp42VKugY5R9fMLuhao5rDcayVxM

With that you shouldn't have to worry about portforwarding, although it's always better to just port forward if you can. That download also has a bunch of quality of life mods too so it's probably worth it

Soku uses port UDP 10800 by default, but really you can change it to whatever as long as you remember it. Only open ports you need though
>>
>>676198
alright, thanks anon, I couldn't find the .exe and assumed it wasn't all downloaded so I went and re downloaded it from op's link, I haven't tried opening all the ports because of security worry but I think I was opening the TDP instead of the UDP.

Well that should be set for both, but are you messing with windows firewall settings or are those your router settings?
Regardless, as i said you don't have to portforward if you are using autopunch so do that whenever you got time, if you wanna play it's not completely necessary now
But sure just ask whenever you wanna give it another try
>>
>>676208
so I used autopunch but I can't host, it says either to make sure my ports are open or to use autopunch >= 0.04

You are not running the autopunch .exe, are you? As i said the version i posted loads autopunch automatically so you shouldn't have to load it again, if you are doing that then it may be messing with the preloaded version

I used the preloaded version at first and it didn't work so that's why I downloaded it again.

Good to hear that anon, with that you are able to host soku for anyone and now you can even host pretty much any other multiplayer 2hu game you wanna play without depending on other tools
>>
>>676783
semi beginner here, wanna give it a go?

>>676896
sure anon, just let me get it together

I don't know where the ip folder is on this one but if you have autopunch the server says for anon in the message

I'm pretty sure your IP:Port should get copied to clipboard automatically when you start hosting so try that and then just paste it. And if it somehow doesn't work then you can just get the IP:Port from lunarcast

If it does work then I suggest disabling Post to bot in pic related, otherwise your host is public for everyone to join and sometimes you can't prevent some random retard from joining in even if you say you are waiting for someone else
>>
>>676906
huh I can't find it on lunarcast and the version I got from the other anon didn't have an address clipboard, but another guy joined my last one so I don't know exactly what's happening.
>>
>>676906
the address would probably be
73.98.15.13:10800
>>
>>676916
Yeah that's the address you want, if so then just post that and disable the option I posted above so randoms don't just join in while you are waiting for anon
>>
>>676920
alright just glad it works
>>
>>676896

yes
GGs man, is this the first fighting game you've played?
A couple of advices
1- you need to block on wakeup (this is when you get down after a big blow and get up) if you dont do this someone may keep damaging you, just hold the opposite key to where the enemy is to block
2- watch this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xlKyKLVFZI
3- if you liked a character go to this page and find their moves https://hisouten.koumakan.jp/w/index.php/Touhou_Hisoutensoku_Wiki,
4- for the thing above they say something like 6AA or something, this are the inputs (the numbers mean your movement keys, 5 is neutral, 6 is foward, 4 is back, 2 is down, 8 is up etc) and A means punch, b means small bullet, and C means big bullet, go to the practice mode and test it out
5- if you want to improve you can play arcade mode agaist the machine and win (they play slow and predictable, it's good to get the hang on the game) but to truly improve you need to practice and play against real people
what did you think about the game so far?
>>
>>677013
i've played fighting games before, this is just the first one i've played on the pc, so I don't exactly know the controls, plus mine isn't the numpad it's the arrow keys and zx.
>>
>>677013
I still enjoy the game a lot it's fun and I never really minded losing in games either
>>
>>677018
>plus mine isn't the numpad it's the arrow keys and zx.
yeah that's what I mean by your movement keys, the site (and everyone else including here) use numbers instead of arrows to explain combos and things.
I believe your Z is melee attack, X your small bullet and C your big bullet
>>
>>677021
yeah I figured out which ones they were i'm just getting the basic attacks down before I go into all the combos.
>>
>>677027
great
fun fact, I do not know any combos, but you should not follow my example

>>
>>684391
Ggs
At least we can get some decently low ping at times now but the spikes are still huge. Are you on wifi or is your connection from your router to you pc cabled?
>>
>>684394
yeah I play on wifi, my ethernet socket is faulty so I can't use it
>>
>>684399
If that's the case then you may wanna look into getting a USB-ethernet adapter at least. They are not too expensive and are (almost) as fast as a direct ethernet connection. Definitely more reliable and consistent than wifi too, so if you are able to cable up the connection then that may help a lot. It will also probably be helpful for any other game you wanna play online anyways. And you can always unplug it after you are done, if you wanna go back to wifi for whatever reason
>>
>>684418
not the same anon but I'm gonna order one of those now lol

GG's Az. I have to find a way out of them killer dolls, those and the timestops are the bane of my existance,
>>
>>687814
Ggs, somehow i felt like i remembered a lot of things in this one set. For a second there i was about to forget how to play this character
Also KD and PS setups (and escaping them) have way too many layers of mixups. There's not really a escape option that can avoid all of that so the next best thing you can do is constantly mix up as many things as you can. Trying to cover all of it on reaction is really hard so i'm bound to fuck it up if i can't consistently guess correctly
