Artificer is better with literally any kind of cooldown reduction since her cooldowns suck. Buy Purity or get lucky with Alien Head or Brainstalks.
Also I find Cast Nano-Spear to be better over the default Nano-Bomb. Moves faster, doesn't arc, and adds another way to freeze and execute enemies quickly.

I grabbed an assortment of mods, like RiskyMod and LostinTransit + Starstorm 2 and some buffs to enemies like beetles and titans, and it's pretty great. You can even end up with the original jellyfish (though if you do that it's best to nerf Aetherium's sanguine aspect, since sanguine jellys are bullshit due to it not being configured for the changes).

The game feels fresh, it's like playing original Risky all over again in 3D.

I don't get the same problems with elites. The volatiles aren't a big deal past the third stage, and even then you can go for hit and run tactics since balls are easier to handle than in 1. Haven't had leeching elites ever heal a boss to full, and I don't particularly prioritize them over other elites, and Frenzying elites were working fine for me. The dash is just 1 second, and only happens every now and then.

Bliggers are still bliggers though, but that's part of the fun. I'm using EliteReworks and Riskymod's original scaling, could be fucking with it.

Sniper update soon. Is there anything that needs changing regarding his balance? I'm thinking of adding a passive that converts attack speed into a small damage bonus for his primaries (lower damage than getting any equivalent damage/proc item). I also get the sense that Spotter feels a bit underwhelming, but that could just be my perception being skewed by lobbies here.

Spotter doesn't feel great. Disrupt isn't very fun to use unless you use Mark, and Feedback doesn't offer enough crowd control options, even without Riskymod. The idea for attack speed items is fine, and item wise he synergizes at a good level, it's just that the damage he offers against single targets isn't enough to justify the loss in crowd control/overall fighting capacity.
I've thought about this for a while since I think your sniper mod is better than the other one, so here's some changes that would really help

-Making three spotter options available would be nice. Feedback could be buffed to do some more crowd damage, Disrupt could do more damage/stay for longer, and a third spotter (call it Spotter: Terminate or whatever) option could be used for direct enemy damage at the loss of crowd control. That way there's more of a choice (dedicated crowd control, dedicated single target, and an inbetween) and each can be tweaked.
-Military training could stun enemies nearby, while Combat training could grant 100 armor. There'd be more of a choice with both, but both would allow Sniper to avoid more damage and not die at stage 3. Right now they're not very interesting, same issue as base Commando's roll.
-Hard Impact should note that it's a projectile in it's description.
-The spotters could have reduced cooldowns after use.

All of these changes would give Sniper more options for playstyle (mixing bullet and spotter type with utility), while giving him some much needed crowd control and more chances to stay in a fight without dying. You could be a long range sniper, a crowd control sniper, or a regular sniper, all with various loadout options to mix and match to preference.
By far the most important change is the spotter cooldown, they take too long.

The proc coefficient is reduced to 1, but I've found that even then Sanguine jellyfish are pretty insane.

I ended up lowering their damage and HP, so they're more like a fire elite with teleportation. Same damage, but can follow you more easily. It feels a lot better, less instagibbing from 3 sanguine jellies.
In short, I went to the config and changed max distance to 6, damage multiplier to 0.7, and hp multiplier to 1.

But there's also the point of "why return to an old idea when we can make new shiny thing"

Enforcer is a grey box that didn't even make it past the prototyping phase. Bomber likely became Artificer, and his micro missiles ended up becoming Engi's Thermal Harpoons. Here are my guesses as to what the items do.

Hopoo will definitely rip off modders. Works just like starstorm coffee.

Grants a bubble shield that protects you from projectiles but not melee attacks. Breaks upon being hit 3(+3 per stack) times in rapid succession.

A mutated Risky 1 mando would be kino, I could definitely see it happening as well if the void fags got their hands on the ship before it escaped. Red Plane is also pretty likely to get a dedicated DLC, together with N'Kuhana it's the biggest and most interesting thing from the lore they can work with and make something really cool out of.
