>ctrl + F>no melty blood threadrev up that MBAACC community edition and let's play some fucking melty!
I was wondering where this thread went.
>>359937I'll come back after the GG sticky I swear
Anybody here taking shelter from Strive or should I LFG tomorrow
>>359937Yayyy! Glad to see people are liking itHavent been playing melty because been playing mabinogi but still glad to see it
>>360371Yeah! Or else we are gonna put u in the corner and loop u back to guilty gear! >:)>>360400You in?
for real though anyone want to play or is everyone in the sticky
>>360657Im lurking but im playing mabi
Playing Strive KINO instead of this cringe weeby shit
>>360681Or we can play what we want and have funPlus strive is easy as hellGame feels braindead
>>360689>weeb has tiny brainOf course
>>360681>>360692Why are you in every fighting game thread shitting it upAlso >weeb calling other weebs weebs
>>360681lol, based. fuck moldy breadAnyway, I'll play Strive when Bridget get added. I don't care about the rest of the gay losers and fap bait that fill GG's roster.Anyone want to host? I would host, but it usually fails.
>>360698At least they are both better than blazblue
>>360696Take your meds weeb
does anyone here play melty on any linux distro? i can't get it running with wine, i can launch cccaster but the game doesn't work. i get to see the "Press Any Button" text on top for a couple frames and then the screen goes black and the game crashes. does it require additional configuration or am i just fucked?
>>360762I play Melty on Linux mint, but it werks just fine with Wine, though I have stuff like winetricks installed as well. I saw you can install the game with Lutris, have you tried that?
>>360801>I saw you can install the game with Lutris, have you tried that?no, i was trying to avoid installing more stuff than necessary, but this isn't working so i guess i'll have to give it a shot.i tried running it with proton since supposedly it works with non-steam games without much setup, but i guess at some point my steam installation fucked itself up because it's not even working with other steam games, let alone with other games.wine works with most other games i tried, albeit with a few small errors, but melty is the one game that straight up crashes every time i try to play.
>>360806Lutris is handy to have for installing non-steam games, and it doesn't take up any disc space. You should also pick winetricks just in case. Have you just recently started using Linux?
>>360815no, but i never tried to get my games working cause i still have a windows partition just for stuff like that and other compatibility issues. it's just that rebooting every time i want to play something is annoying so i finally decided to do it
>>360762works for me off of a fresh prefix with no winetricks fuckery required. You're probably missing some pacakge so check the log.You could also try running it through proton>>360815imo Lutris' interface sucks dick and it's much easier to manage everything by yourself, especially if you learn some basic bash and write a simple manager. That said, I do sometimes look at Lutris' install scripts to see what stuff to install via winetricks
anyone wanna play?
>>361232nah, midwest NAi'm down to try and see if the connection is alright
>>361233still open someone come beat me up
>>361233ggs man, gonna go make some dinner
How are Red Arc or Warachia for a beginner, both in terms of execution and gameplan?
>>361365depends on the moon, but c-wara is both the best and also the easiest out of those. he's pretty decent for a beginner. i'd even say quite good but he's kinda bad in defense so you need to make up for it.red arc has (in general) a more defensive playstyle and is harder to play while being generally a bit worse. that said, f-red arc still has pretty manageable execution and is a pretty straight forward character so she would also be decent for a beginner
>>361365F-Red can do a lot of damage with reasonably accessible combos. Her jumping attacks are pretty lame too so you don't have to worry about getting hit by air to airs as much. She sucks at opening people up though so as a beginner you might struggle against people who know how to block properly. F-Warachia's combos are somewhat easy as well, and his buttons are usually safe at maximum range even if they're blocked. The dude's reversals suck though so you get stuck in the corner if you lose the battle of neutral.
>>361393>>361398Neat, thanks. I'm gonna check out F-Red for the time being and hopefully by the end of this week I'll be confident enough to try a few matches.
Id play with you guys but im sick rn and dont wanna be getting hyped up
>tfw you got super high last night and couldn't play as much as you wanted to
>>361816Well... Your sober now...So like
>>361866Looking for GILFs?Hella yeah
who wants to play desu
>>362104if you're still here then me
>>362160alright give me a few minutes to restart my pc
>>362161lemme know if you want me to mess with the network settings
I see you learned a new corner combo anon, looking pretty stylish. GG
>>362213getting late now so ggs>new corner combocouldn't do the standard tk 22b corner combo for the life of me, that's more of a fallback combo that looks cool and has some dumb gimmicky oki followup at least
>tfw everyone ditched is place to play strive
>>363599Correct. Pretty based.
>>363615Still wanna play?
anyone want to play?
>>364348>>364352where are you man
>>364357be there in a sec
>>364352That was a good game man but I suck at endurance matches so I'm taking a break
>>364422ggs. sounding like a broken record but fuck me the rollback makes it nigh impossible to shield things and tell if you're doing a weirdass reset or smth.It seems like the safejump is even safe even vs shield, so I really have to practice it more.
>>364425Shielding is generally a shitty option against spikeball anyways so don't do that.
>>364427it's either that or shielding your charged moves which on our connection are basically unreactable. seriously, half the time the charge sfx doesn't even kick in.
>>364430I dunno what to tell you anon I've never lagged against anybody.
>>364455Do you play against other people with similar ping? from my experience >50ms is when things start getting bad.
>>364456I've played pretty much every person in /vm/ at this point plus a few discord trannies. I've seen obvious rollbacks happen a handful of times but that's about it. I haven't encountered any netcode related things that made footsies unreactable. Maybe things run smoother for fiber gamers.
>>364430how much rollback/delay do you set?
>>3644616 rollback and 2 delay. in the past I tried even higher values but it didn't help
>>3644610 delay 3 rollback
>>364462>in the past I tried even higher values but it didn't helpanon, increasing values is not exactly what you want to do to improve things3-4 are the ideal values for rollback and what pretty much every game defaults to (and for good reason), maybe 5 only if the latency is just barely above the threshold for 4f. any higher is gonna be a teleporting mess. you'll probably have to sacrifice a couple delay frames if you want to play somewhat decently>>3644630 delay can cause some issues every now and then, 1f is usually the safe choice. but sounds good enough, although i don't know in which context that is since the other guy says he's getting 8 buffer frames instead
>>364466>0 delay can cause issues sheeeeeeeit
>>364593*grabs ur throat*back the fuck off???????????
anyone games ?
>>365375Yeah m8 which of us should host?
Anyone lurking for games?
reminder to host yourself instead of asking for games
>>366514why would I host if nobody is here
>>366994Not as soulless as the rest
I'll be around for an hour if anyone is herecan host if needed
>>367981still here? I don't care which of us hosts
>>367996Yessiryou can go ahead and host
>>367998>>367405NA west coast trying 1 delay 3 rollback
What are some good matchups against cnero?
>>368010H-Red Arc is his worst matchup. Eyebeams punish basically any summon on reaction from fullscreen and she dunks on him in the air.
>>368017Thank you kind anon.
those were some crazy ones dawggg
>>368027I think we were playing for like 2 hours
>>368031Nah, it was only for an hour or so.
anyone up for some matches?
How the FUCK do I do a tiger kick?
>>368498you mean a tiger knee?
>>368523Yeah that's the spice
>>368695It was a general question, let's say Arc
>>368946it's an important question since it depends on what motion you want to TK.any motion ending in 6 or 4 (eg 236, 214, 624) can be easily TK'd by adding a 9 or 7 input (ie 2369, 2147, etc).with DP motions it gets tricky. you could do 62369 but that is usually pretty tight. hitbox is really nice for TK DPs because you can use shortcut inputs like 6239 and other wack stuff.TKing air command inputs is a no brainer.>>369009not him but if you're still around I'd play a match
>>369016I'm still here, let's go
>>369018timed out. is your caster up to date (3.0023)?
>>369019Yeah. Damn, this always happens when I try to host.
>>369020try restarting the caster. sometimes when I leave it hosting for a while, it stops working.
>>369023How do you do that? I haven't been able to successfully host a match of Melty Blood ever.I can join other matches, but hosting always causes people to time out.
>>369028just close the caster and start it again>I haven't been able to successfully host a match of Melty Blood everyou probably didn't open the portanyways I'll host then 220.127.116.11:10800
>>369075ggs.don't mash on wakeup and when blocking. Also don't overuse shield instead use it to punish predictable stuff. I'd suggest you to try a full moon char cuz they can hold shield which makes it easy to time (C can too but special cancels only sucks, they need EX shield)Red Arc has ridiculously good zoning so focus on stopping me from approaching you with 214X and j214X specials. the 22X and j22X specials are frankly shit
>>369086thanks for the advice
Someone fight me right now!
>>369028Did you manually specify the port or leave the port number blank?
Good matchups agaisnt Ckoha?
>>369971Just some quick late night games?Im not even good i dont really practice and havent played in a month
Anyone up on a saturday morning?
Fucking post your IPs niggers.
>>369965She doesn't really have any losing matchups. Just pick a top tier.
>>369965You should try to get good a bit before even considering asking questions like that
Anyone want to play? I can host if you can't.
>>370872ggs. sorry had to leave sooner. anon was right, lowering rollback to 4f did improve it but it's still far from what I'd like.
I've never played melty before. Only gg +r. If someone wants to inflate their ego fighting a noob, let me know
I'm here and ready to fight any skill level!
Did I accidentally hit ESC or is it over? GG I guess.
>>371647nah I was the one who quit.ggs, seeing you utterly disrespect my 6C, 2A reset because I can't get the fucking timing down was painful.sj5[C] is a safejump so any reversal aside from 236C will give me an easy 3k+ punish and more if I could do roastbeefs corner combos. that is assuming I don't fuck up the timing but imo it seems pretty easy vs Ciel.
Anyone on rn?
>>371704Guess not :cHow is it that i missed them only ONE hour after they were here
>>371714I'm here again if you want to play
i am here and ready to play
18.104.22.168:12222I might dip in a little to check on dinner
Someone to play? The closer to south america so we don't experience as much ping, the better.
anyone NA EC want to play some games?
>>372565GGyou're pretty good
why does the steam version not register 41236 on keyboardcorrectly, it used to work flawlessly when I pirated it and now steam blocks it, help
>>372700MBAACC community edition is free lol
I'm back from vacationsomeone fight me
>>373182Sure, can you host?
>>373188Yes, try 22.214.171.124:27015
Gonna finish my pizza but I'll sorta be aroundggs
>>373217I can play quick if can you host.
>>373235did it crash?
>>373248No it didn't, I just had to go do something. I played a bit too long.
>>373249ggs. You really should use rebeats, they're the meat of C moon pressure. Don't use 4C, it's minus a billion. Finally, don't mash too much on defense
>>373249forgot to add that you should be more careful with airteching cuz it can be easily punished, especially forward airtech which has 4f recovery
>>372733ik, but steam version is quicker to navigate for single player stuff
>>373256>>373266Thanks for the advice, I felt like my pressure and defense were really lacking most of the time. Guess it'll be back to practice with me.
>tfw you're going to the coast this weekend and won't be able to fight the entire thread like you've been doing all month
Damn I need to play more, am I crazy or are people more free on wednesday than the weekend?
just downloaded concerto and want to give it a try. Anyone down to play?
>>375056You're not crazy desu a lot of people work weekends
Anyone down for some games?
>>376182My buttons got unbinded brb
>>376182gg's good stuff
>>376261ggs. Hisui's AT is techable after a combo so you should avoid it unless it kills. Or look into her tech trap options cuz she seems to be pretty good at it.Use rebeats for your pressure, for example whiff cancelling big buttons into 5A leaves you far less minus. Also don't overrely on 236A cuz as you might've noticed, it's really easy to shield and it may even be possible to EX guard it to make you whiff the last hits
Nah I am good
>>376273Thanks for the info. To be honest I just decided to jump online without practice because I find discovering shit while playing is fun. Despite being from around the same time I'm pretty surprised at how fluid the game feels compared to something like +r.
Anyone want to play a few friendly games?
>>377019u still here?
>>359937Any tips on this game for someone new? I'm not much of a fgc guy (I tend to just play 2hu) but I've been interested in it as of late.
>>377543what character are you using?
>>377545Ciel, but I haven't really branched out with other chars so far
>>377543Learn how to do at least one combo with 100% consistency so that you can do damage when you land a hit. You can see some basic combos on Youtube or look up some notation on the MBAACC wiki. Use melty.games to see match footage of your chosen character and figure out what buttons work for your neutral game and how you should approach your opponent.
>>377546can't give any tips on Ciel but here's some general stuff>rebeats are very important for C&H moon pressure>high shield catches 2A, all standing and air attacks>low shield catches all crouching attacks>aerial play is very strong>air counter hit is fully untechable, making it very dangerous>don't mash on wakeup or pressure>heat is slow but still a good reversal option
>>377543oh yeah also mizuumi has any info you need on melty mechanics and characters
>>377543download the community edition and check the help folder. There's some basic tutorials for get ready.
Zero warm-ups today but I'm ready to play if anyone is up for it.
