They are by far the worst janitors on this whole website. Their bans are always unfair where they never ban the offender of a post that initially started a flame war, but have no issues with banning anyone who replied to it. It's the double standards which is what pisses me off.

You might be assuming a little too much in this case. Maybe the mods are the ones who started the thread in the first place to bait rule breakers and ban them. Or maybe the mods let the OP go free to monitor his activity and hope he starts multiple threads like that to lengthen his bans. Well, there are a lot of reasons why they might not ban the OP while banning thread participants.

The theory I lean towards the most however is that jannies and mods don't tend to look at the whole thread and only glance at individual posts when they're sent to their inbox as a result of someone reporting those posts. Imagine: people engaged in a flame war, hating each other and wishing the other person would die, will often just report each others' posts. The mods might see those posts after you report them, but I think it's less likely that the same amount of people will report the OP post.

That's exactly what happens. They're lazy and that's how they operate. They just see something that breaks a rule but don't look at the whole context in a majority of cases. If someone says a certain thing (off topic) and then you give an honest reply to it, they think that's worthy of a ban. They punish people who simply reply to the rule breaker but don't punish ALL of the other rule breakers in the thread. If i was seeing everyone else who broke a rule getting the boot then i could accept my ban with clear conscience that everyone else who had stepped out of line weren't ignored either. But seeing a majority of people in a video game thread giving non video game replies and then I'm the one who gets singled out doesn't sit right with me.

That's just your persecution complex talking. This happens to everyone who participates in those threads at some point in their lives. You just got unlucky.

I have similar complaints about the mod team at /vg/ - the main problem there being that most of the mods/jannies seem fixated on "their" individual generals and don't clean up generals they don't care about. Mine is one such ignored general. There's constant spammers and people that just keep posting low quality sexual garbage every 10 minutes. The mods quite often do literally nothing about the spammers 95% of the time, but instead decide to punish the decent anons that try to fight off the spammers.

Nigger those are containment boards
/vg/ is full of spam and avatarfagging and you kinda just gotta get over it
>>

this is going on on several boards evidently. This website is broken right now, seems to be corrupt mod team participating in trolling/instigating bullshit with users and then even banning without reason if they lose the bs they started

/g/ is the only really bad one

/g/ is bad too like super bad

Jannies are EXTREMELY IDEOLOGICAL. I'm pretty sure there was a requirement in the 4chan onboarding process where they tell you that you can't remove stuff because it triggers you.
Fuck them.
