Good evening, everyone! Sorry for the delay as I just got back from work, but the analyst corner is here! Tonight, we have Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw facing off, so let's take a look at the matchups, shall we?A big change for Ravenclaw tonight is that their captain and Seeker, Euphemia, is away on vacation. As such, their starting Seeker for tonight will be (Her), Evalyn Wong, instead! Evalyn's stats differ from Euphemia's the greatest in the fly-per department, with a maxed flying stat instead of perception. For the Seeker matchup against Faolán, her max flying might shape up to be the better matchup against Faolán's high interception stat. If you all remember, the last time these two teams fought each other, Euphemia was struggling against Faolán's constant interdictions and could not focus on catching the snitch as result. With Evalyn starting today instead, her max flying stat will give her a better chance to dodge against any interdiction attempts and will hopefully help her focus on finding and catching the snitch instead! Good luck in your first starting match, Evalyn! Moving on, the next biggest matchup will be between the beaters. Niamh's the most infamous beater out there currently and her KO count just keeps rising every single match, whether it's win or lose! If Ravenclaw beaters Zach and Eudaemonia don't focus her or keep her in check, she will quickly cause havoc around the pitch and it will go badly for them if they aren't prepared! Niamh's beater counterpart Abe is no slouch either. His stats allow him to perfectly set her up for hits, as well as protecting the rest of his team from incoming bludgers. A very deadly duo indeed! However, they are not the only part that makes the team so dangerous. We will talk about the remaining roles in the next post due to word limit, and then I will hand it over to Evalyn H for her analysis as well!1/2

Even though two (Rout and Florana) have 0 passing, this isn't actually that detrimental to them as their captain, Ava, does a great job in setting them up. Combined with Florana's high interception, they have no problems getting possession of the quaffle at all. That's what makes their teamwork so effective and also unique, as fitting for their house. The Eagle chasers, in comparison, are almost the opposite wherein all three starting chasers, Alan, Evalyn, and Miranda have high passing but relatively low interception, with Alan's being the highest at 40. Make no mistake though, they still work very well as a team, and their high accuracy makes them deadly scorers. It will be quite a matchup between the chasers for sure!This leads us to the Keepers. Garland vs. Gloria, both are stable and solid foundations for their respective teams. Both Keepers have max blocking, but Garland has higher flying and Gloria has higher perception. This means that Gloria will be able to perceive bludgers coming her way faster, but may potentially still be too slow to dodge them. Garland will have less chance in spotting them, but have a greater chance of dodging them if he happens to see one coming in time. Being as both teams have made some changes since then however, it remains to be seen how this match will play out!I'll start with a look at the seekers. In the last matchup between these teams, Hufflepuff seeker Faolán was able to effectively suppress Euphemia despite her initial advantage thanks to his maxed out interdiction stat countering Euphie's build, which maxes perception in exchange for weaker evasive flying. In the time since however, Faolán has made some sheet adjustments, dropping a point of interception in favour of stronger flying abilities of his own. Additionally, please welcome Danielle Le Roux to the Hufflepuff team as their new reserve seeker!On the Ravenclaw side of things, Evalyn Wong is swapping in for Euphemia as the starting seeker while the latter takes the reserve position. I believe this might be to our advantage for this particular matchup, as Wong's maxed flying skill should make her highly resistant to the Hufflepuff seeker's attempts at interference! As long as her high recklessness doesn't get her into trouble, anyway.On to the keepers... both Garland of Ravenclaw and Gloria of Hufflepuff have proven themselves highly reliable defenders of their respective goals! While both of these players have their blocking stats fully maxed out, Garland does have stronger flying meaning that he can more readily position himself to receive shots instead of having to scramble to place himself correctly. This allows for a great deal of flexibility as it ensures no chaser will find themselves in a position which they are completely unprepared to handle!Meanwhile on the Hufflepuff team, each chaser has a much more specific and clearly-defined role. Florana and Rout completely eschew passing in favour of being dedicated strikers, while Ava largely takes a more supportive role in bringing the quaffle forward before passing it off for the final shot! Ava and Florana together also carry the team's interception. This means that though the Hufflepuff chasers may see higher optimal performance, they may struggle if any of their members are disabled by the opposing beaters since they cannot as easily cover each other's roles.Speaking of beaters, we see a largely similar dynamic between the teams in that role as well. Eudaemonia and Zach of Ravenclaw have both proven themselves very capable and well-rounded beaters, capable of defending their allies and putting the hurt on their opponents in equal measure. The Hufflepuff beaters meanwhile function very differently, with Niamh being a pure glass cannon shooter while Abraham is a dedicated support beater who takes care of defence and passes the bludgers off to her. While this makes Niamh incredibly deadly, it is also much more risky as if she goes down, Hufflepuff loses almost *all* of its offensive capability!Now I've said my part, all that remains is the match itself. I'm sincerely so terribly sorry for the delay, everyone! Let's start the match, right away! Badgers vs. Eagles CAM ON!!! Madam Kogawa throws the quaffle and Hufflepuff takes first possession as chaser Florana Summerbee takes it! She immediately tries to pass to her captain, Ava Boyd, but Eagle chaser Miranda Maygrove dives in for the quick interception! Beater Niamh Campbell is already loaded with a bludger and fires it straight at opposing beater Zachariah Haines, but he is able to block it on time! Meanwhile, Eagle keeper Garland Stephald seems to be a bit too over excited as he accidentally slips off his broom as while trying to fly! He manages to recover on time but has suffered light scratches. Niamh isn't done as she is already quick at work with a bludger already sent Miranda's way! Beater Eudaemonia Bluemoon tries to save her but can't make it as Miranda is hit extremely hard on the chest! She looks to be in a lot of pain at the moment! Florana quickly recovers the quaffle and flies to the Eagles' goal as she shoots! Garland's previous accident has him out of position but with great effort he was able to safely block it anyway!0-0 Eagles to Badgers. No one on the board yet, but bludgers are already abound!

Faolán and Evalyn have been at this song and dance for a very long time now, and the toll and fatigue of the battle is catching up to them, especially with Faolán's increasing frustration in failing to secure the snitch twice. However, both of them at this moment are completely neck and neck as the snitch is right in front of them! Who will be able to get it!? Suddenly, the snitch goes upwards, and Evalyn is just but a millisecond faster than Faolán as she ascends immediately with the snitch and reaches out her hand right away! ...And this time she is the one who is able to to capture the snitch successfully, finally closing out this long, long match!! What better way than to burn off that energy after the game than to take a nice seat in the Hog's Head, enjoy a butterbeer and think about companionship? There's still time to apply for the Speed Dating/Mixer event, and so much potential fun and content that can arise from this silly little thing.It works via a generator whipped up by our very own Cora that will pair up students according to their preferences. You'll be given a choice between three eligible candidates and then it's off to the races! Make some friends, find a lover, maybe even "the one" for you will be there! Who knows? Come on in! Good evening, everyone! Welcome to the analyst corner for tonight's match between Slytherin and Gryffindor! For the seekers tonight, James is back to start after Cora last week and he will be facing off against Matthew from Gryffindor. Both seekers are very fast and both of them have dumped interception entirely. The only difference between them is that James has a lot more perception, which will make him more likely to see the snitch faster, whereas Matthew has a bit more accuracy but less perception. If he is able to locate the snitch and get close enough to it he will be able to secure the capture more easily. Down to the wire, it will depend on who can spot the snitch first and race close enough to secure the capture the first time. Hopefully, there are no stray dragons on the pitch this time!Both teams have changes for beaters. Lions have Issac in place of Roman and the Snakes have Addie in place of Morgaine. Interestingly, these two new beaters are built almost opposite of each other. Issac is following the Gryffindor signature of being very defensive, with accuracy forgone entirely in favor of having high block, fly, and passing. This makes him the perfect support beater for his team. On the other hand, Addie has high accuracy and block, which gives him a more offensive edge but still having defenses to help his teammates. The drawback is that both him and Artorias have 10 in interception. So while they will be really deadly firing off bludgers, they will have a harder time obtaining them to begin with which means less opportunities to fire off shots. Inversely, both Issac and Logren should have a better time intercepting bludgers with 30-30 between the two of them, but with 0-20 accuracy they will have a hard time actually getting the hits. I'm predicting that there won't be many knockouts this time, but we will see how it goes!In the next post, I will talk about the chasers and the keeper, and then handing it over to Eva for her thoughts!1/2

>>431484840The chaser matchup is pretty interesting. Both teams have offensively built chasers. The starting chasers of Jacob, Liz, and Matthias have good perception and good flying, but all have low passing across the board. Combined with their beaters with their high block, they will be very hard to hit by bludgers. However, their low passing does mean they will have a harder time maintaining quaffle possession, especially since the Snakes have good interception across the board. In terms of the Snakes, the three starting chasers, Aumellia, Artie, and Nora, are all built offensively as well, but with team support in mind as they work together on the pitch. Their drawback is that all of them have the signature Snake recklessness, so they will be more prone to accidents if they are not careful! Overall high scorers across the board.Lastly, the keepers. Both Margaret and I have a very similar stat spread, with both of us having 10 in accuracy but high block, perception, and flying. This means that we will both be needing to rely on our chasers to prevent interceptions during throw ins. For me, I chose to have a maxed out flying spread and Margaret has a more balanced one. This means I will potentially have a better chance to dodge bludgers when they do come my way, but Margaret may have a better chance to see them coming first. James is taking the tried and true approach of aiming to spot the snitch early and home straight in on it with no distractions, which has often worked out for him in the past! Meanwhile, Matthew's stat spread is more specialized - his lower perception means he may not get the first spot, but with maxed flying and accuracy he has the tools needed to potentially catch up and grab that golden ball on the first try.As for the keepers, we've got very similar skill sets between Haitham and Margaret. Haith focuses slightly more on flying for that reliable pre-positioning while Margaret favours perception to avoid bludgers. Both largely dump accuracy for their throw-ins, so we can expect to see those get intercepted fairly often on both sides.Speaking of chasers, both Slytherin and Gryffindor are running very aggressive chaser teams with a strong focus on intercepting the quaffle and landing accurate shots on goal. The Slytherin chasers have strong passing, making them more likely to get successful offensive pushes, but will be relying heavily on their beaters for defence as their flying and perception are low. The Gryffindor chasers on the other hand should be much more difficult for the opposing beaters to take down, but Jacob is the only one among them with good passing, so they may struggle against the snakes' interceptions.Finally, beaters. New Slytherin beater Addie has great blocking and shooting, but with him and Arto having only two interception between them, the snakes may have trouble getting those bludgers to launch. Meanwhile, Gryffindor's new beater Issac completely dumps accuracy, aiming for an entirely defensive build.
