what level is recommended to beat Zoma without the Sphere Of Light? It's the only challenge left on my current save file, Switch version if that matters. Playing through the FF pixel remasters really highlights why I like DQ moreEach DQ town, while kind of episodic and disjointed from the basic plot, usually has the heroes actually solved a local problem. FF it's always crisis after crisis with the heroes arriving *just* a second too late or whatever

Better to just accept that any momentum DQ had is just dead in the water at this point and will be for a long while.No Monsters, Heroes, or Builders. That 9 remake they suggested doing with Level 5 back in 2019? Likely not even off the ground. 3 remake and 12 are taking forever to even get news out, and even if we get news this week two years for info isn't a good look in this day and age. Out of boredom I've looked at opinions from our Nanashi-san counterparts in nipland about the absolute glacial pace of the franchise. For the most part they're just as worried and some are upset about the lack of any real games, and DQ being reduced to a franchise relying on MMO and mobile shit and eventually fading into irrelevancy, DQ only resonating with older gamers, etc, etc. Not exactly surprising long time fans over there feel that way but somewhat comforting to see nonetheless.

I have played my 55 hours in my current IX playthrough and I don't know if I'm done or not now. I got the Mudraw map, I was planning on trying to get the Dhoulmagus one and quitting there but then I learnt you can get a Dragonlord, and two more legacy maps without DLC. Funny I've gotten further in this playthrough then I ever got in my 300+ hours cheated all items in playthrough I had a kid, I had to get the Baramos map from a friend and I never levelled it higher than 7.

You can roam around with a team of allied monsters and various adventurer teams are treated like boss fights and teams with a hero in it are treated like a super boss.
Japan loves a lot Dragon Quest, so it's not surprising to find references to it in manga/anime of the time
