I think I'm on to something here. Repeated small iterations, passing the output from LLaMA back in as the new prompt, but with a static header that describes the story. The header should contain something like "page 3 of 7" so LLaMA knows that it's part-way through a story.It will try up to 5 tries at each iteration until it finds one that's of acceptable length and doesn't seem to be in an infinite loop, and it will try to salvage iterations that look almost acceptable.
