I won't be adding to the dogpile of how over tuned the mobs are, as I feel the community is in agreement on this one. I more or less want to point out a fundamental hypocrisy underlying the new rare mobs tags: Chris mentioned that they wanted to consolidate rare mods so people could at a glance understand what they were facing. The problem is, this game is at the point where you either kill the mob in 2 seconds or are killed in 2 seconds. No matter how consolidated you make the rare mods, people ARE NOT going to stop to read the mods in the heat of combat even if it was a single word (let alone 2-6 tags). In Archnemesis we were able to read the mods because we built the mob ourselves and could take our time — a lot of these mods are designed to be faced in different or unique ways based on the mods that you chose, but now that we dont have a choice in what archnemesis mods we face its even more confusing than before. I am constantly asking myself, "WTF just killed me?" or "What just happened?"Then there is the fact that they didnt even consolidate the rare mods into archnemesis mods. Beastiary has its own set of mods, possessed mobs have their own set of mods, and unique enemies still have the old mod tags. They didn't "consolidate" anything — like always, they just added to the infinite bloat by adding more mods to pay attention to, not less.

Go inside an Alva Incursion/Atziri map and you can get instagibbed by a mob of ranged Blue Monsters with an archnemesis mod. Get unlucky in Delve and theres nowhere to escape, logging out is the only way to save yourself when an unkillable invulnerable blue dog monsters drains all your flasks away.

This reminds me D3 Inferno difficulty on release. When it would take me 2 mins to kill every rare mob, using only Frenzy on barb and livinig on life-on-hit. Sometimes they've reached enrage, but I could tank it. But some mobs were just too much, like the licking dogs from act 3, I think.
honestly, the archnemesis mod thing is what last league should have been. No bullshit combining mechanics that get old the moment you finish a kitava combo. Have a couple of rares with a combination of mods, and each mod dropping what they used to. Something more like essence and rogue metamorphs

Not sure if I'm actually a minority or if people who enjoy themselves are just too busy playing the game so they don't post here as much, but I just want to say that the added challenge is great.It's not perfect and it definitely needs some tuning here or there, but it's overall the right direction.Maybe my perception is also a bit warped because the last thing I played was the Searing Gauntlet which was pretty brutal, but that's beside the point. I just wanted to get this out here because I'm honestly surprised by all the negativity.

>>384158387Problem isn't health, or damage. If you have some decked out shit on standard feel free to load it now and see what happens if you clear moderately juiced map with lots of rares. Good chance you literally won't be able to kill some rares that just delete your flasks or mana which can't be countered by anything. It's like map mod your build can't do, but it just randomly appears anywhere. Funniset part howevers, is that niGGGers didn't even address that part, they were talking about raw numbers that can be worked around or mtigated by investment. But show me investment that will allow your 5 mirrors 3 shapers per second CoC build kill basic rare that rolled mana siphoner mod.
