How are your Animal prompts going Anons? It's not to late to get started if you haven't made one.
>>361368371not really interested desu
>>361368684I know plenty of Anons have said they've made/are making wholesome ones, you don't want to make one about a woman/man's adventures with an animal/pokemon/creature for a companion? I haven't even thought of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them until now.
>>361369636then what do you want to write about, anon?
>>361369209>with an animal/pokemon/creature for a companionI would have had so much fun doing things like this if I was still 11.As a side note, I hope enough kids are properly introduced to AID during the years that are the most important for their development. >>361370556I suppose if you're not using it to coom AID IS still the most amazing AI out there.

if i make a module in my native language, would the ai start speaking in that language?
>>361377629Probably not, but give it a try
>>361377629A module alone wouldn't be enough, unless said language was already strongly represented in the training data as well as the finetuning data.Check if the AI already can pull it off well. If it does but it's not exactly what you want, see if training a module helps.
>>361377629Not very well. Tokens are still english so it'd use all the individual letter ones I'd think. Frankly I don't know how Turk managed to make Genji work as well as it does.

Anons, how do you get yourself to care about your story outside of quick coom material? I feel like especially because of how quick and easy it is to retry or start a new story, I never get that attached. Even when I do start to get invested, the moment the AI slows down or breaks immersion with some breach of logic, it all goes to shit.A few anons have even mentioned using the AI for adventures and solo roleplaying which sounds like something I'd like to dive into, but every time I start, everything feels meaningless and empty. What can I do to start giving more of a shit about these lines of text anons?
>>361379292Pretend the AI doesn't exist and you're writing a story by yourself
>>361379292i think about it for a while before i start it
>>361379292Actually set up characters with ideals and (basic) motivations. Put those in LBs if you feel kinky. Start off away from the action and try to act whatever role you POV as while the others want you or you want them.
>>361379292Here's the thing: I don't think your approach is wrong in the first place. We are different people, with different views on life, literature, entertainment, etc.But in case you want to attempt to give a care about stories in order to create your own, here's the best tip I can give you: write shit down. If you ever played a TTRPG, you know that having an "empty" vessel vs a fully-realized character that you took at least a couple of hours to come up with end up starting and play very differently in game, even if they are the same mechanically. What I want to say is that you don't have stakes in your world, your characters, your lore. Sit down, create the world, create the character and create the lore.Create stakes to yourself.
>>361380864I might be able to create stakes, but then how do you enforce them? How do you limit yourself to not edit/retry the story and instead hold yourself to those stakes? I think I might be looking for some kind of structure but it's hard to constrain something like an open-ended AI.
>>361381789Yeah it's difficult writing over the save/load mentality. Sometimes I wish I could disable the retry button.
>>361381670You misunderstand. You WILL edit/retry the story. That's a given, hardcore bullshit doesn't work well in this medium. The "stakes" I meant are the hours that you've spent creating your characters, their backgrounds, roles, goals, dreams, fears, etc.Other than that, go wild. Make it go to coom sometimes, enjoy a simple adventure other times, and so on.
Man I wish NAI also filled the placeholder variables in the Story title and description fields. Would make testing prompts so much easier.
>>361381789True. I tend to stop having fun when I start savescumming or more generally force a given outcome in games. I imagine a story that is too tightly controlled might feel less special due to the same brain mechanism. Summer Dragon can't come back soon enough.
How are your prompts coming along, anons?
>>361388747I finished one for Friday and am unsure if I want to do a second one (I have a specific idea in mind, an old AID scenario that I would remake) or if I just make a prompt that isn't connected to the theme (where I also have a specific idea in mind).
>>361389385Sounds bretty good, anon!I tried playing with insertion orders for LBs and kinda sorta fucked my prompt over by having some activate as though they were the last written item. That made it ignore unfinished sentences. Not fun. What ideas do you have in mind?>>361389402>picI-is that legal? Hugging is almost as lewd as handholding
>>361381670I think a better way to phrase what that anon is saying is "being invested in" your story. Similar to how a good book will make you care about the characters, to the point where you need to keep reading just to see what happens with them. Maybe the protagonist has a goal he wants to achieve, maybe there's some unresolved conflict in the world, maybe there's an evil antagonist still wreaking havoc. If you're invested in these things, you have no choice but to keep going with your story, because you're the only one who can bring about a satisfying conclusion.
>>361391936You're describing something that comes close to an overarching plot. So far Sigurd is only really equipped to handle scenes / chapters, not a full "volume". At least that's my experience with the AI so far.
>>361392153If you put the plot in the LB, and associate it with the characters and stuff it works alright. You might need to remind the AI when things go a bit off the rails, but if a character mentions the overarching plot even once without my input, I'd call that a win. With proper usage of the tools, you can even make the AI remember shit that happened at the beginning of the story even when you're long past it.What helps for me isn't just to put the relevant info into a single entry for a character, but to associate it with the parties involved over multiple characters. That way you're casting a wider net.But when things start to deviate, most of the time it's enough to just prime an input to get the AI to bring up the plot itself. And if that fails just work in a reminder yourself.
>>361392153I already posted how you must do your pre-story homework, my dude. You have the information, you have a rough idea already of where you want to go even before you type the first letter into the prompt. And yes, you can create multiple NAI stories, each a scene or chapter, whatever you feel more comfortable with. You deal with the logistics of making it work yourself, writing resumes of past happenings in the lorebook, all that stuff. That's what it means to be invested in something: you work for it, and hope your investment pays off.
>>361381670Learn about Solo RPG games and how to play them. Mythic GM Emulator, Ironsworn... all good systems. I found a pair of dice together with NAI go incredibly well to even keep me surprised what happens next and also to lead an overall plot, something the AI isn't good in.The only problem is you have to enforce the rules yourself, as there is nobody else to enforce them. I think a lot of people got used to not do that because of videogames and the strict nature in how computer programs enforce their own logic in the structure of the game, and how every rule is static and every number gets written down and you have to do things like use cheats to bypass it. People are conditioned not to do that and finde the holes in the system to exploit and It's noticeable how people (pointlessly) tried to enforce similar structures on the AI since AID was a thing. (which of course is hopeless with these AIs as they simply don't understand them)In the end, you have to play by the rules and enforce your stakes for your own benefit of enjoying the process, not because the computer "tells you to". The old adage goes: If you cheat, you only cheat yourself in the end. In this case, cheat yourself out of an interesting experience with characters you're invested in.Also what the other anon said, start to take notes outside of AID regarding the characters. I have character sheets for mine as I use traditional RPG systems to play out some things and mostly use the AI for prose, descriptions and conversations. Works incredibly well.
>>361392153Yes, Sigurd only deals with 2000 tokens at the time, so it falls on you to keep track of anything that falls outside of that. For example, you might decide that the protagonist has set out to slay the dragon, and you'd write that in memory or as a lorebook entry. Ideally, this will steer the AI toward outputs where the protagonist gets closer to this goal, but you'd also want to direct it a bit occasionally. Maybe the protagonist discovers other goals along the way, which you could also add to memory/LB.In short, you're the author. Sigurd is just a tool you use to help you write out the story you're building.
I sort of found a way to add memories over past, important events for the AI. Create lorebook entries connected to mundane and non obvious words. e.g. the word "rock", and then in the lorebook entry, add the important action that transpired in the past you want the AI to remember in the same prose the rest of your context is in in a very short way. For example: "Peter was kicking the small rock as he was walking down the street."Then put a short activation range on that lorebook entry so it only gets triggered when it was used very recently to not overwhelm your context with these "memories". Observe the AI magically remembering and adding things that happened way back in your story when certain keywords get mentioned that "trigger" these "memories". I'm still experimenting with it and haven't found quite the perfect settings and prose yet but it leads to interesting connections the AI makes. It works better for me than a big monolithic memory entry as it's more selective and it gobbles up less tokens if you do it right.
Anyone know how I can easily and reliably discourage long lists? Siggy likes lists a bit too much.
>>361394736 (me)Sort of a "forgotten" feature is the Ephemeral context which lets you add things to the AIs context after several steps to force stories down certain paths. I wish we had something similar with a programmable interval (where text gets injected and removed in step intervals, if that makes sense) or sort of a randomizer where you can define a number range of steps without being explicitly told when something gets inserted. I feel that also could be useful to "simulate better memory" for the AI.
>>361368371Haven't even truly started, but I'm not a fucking writelet, prepare for the Deluge.

>>361394982Penalty slope. You'd increase it to stop that.
>>361391165>What ideas do you have in mind? The old AID scenario I have is "run into hungry homeless fox boy in an alley, things go from there" that I had some fairly wholesome fun with back then. Always had it at the back of my mind that I wanted to remake that in my style. The other unrelated idea I've had in mind as something I wanted to make is "timid guy gets convinced to model nude for charismatic art student". I think we have some "nude modeling for art class" scenarios, but I think what I remember has the model being the more confident one in the equation. Then again, I currently have like three different text files with WIP scenarios I could be working on. Maybe I'll do something else.
>>361396943That's not a cougar, that's a sabertooth tiger
>>361397674I must have missed it. What did you order?
>>361394736Wait, hold on. Are you saying to put in any important memories you want to remember on "rock", or just important memories with rocks as a point, as in the kicking rocks example?
>50k words>Less than 1/4 doneI may have a problem.
>>361399014To be fair it was in the thread transition and mostly to see what it'd do with an innocent sounding name. >>360881539Thanks for popping back in.
>>361399932That was of course and example. It's a bit hard to put in words. I connect important events in the past to words that could basically act as a "tag" for this memory. So if the words come up for whatever reason, there are some sentences placed in the AIs context so it "remembers" that event happening and can build a connection to it in text generation, just like with a lorebook entry. I find it works better as a block of prose in memory, as I can make it specific to these "tags", with no reason to have the AI "remember" these things otherwise. I hope that makes more sense, I'm still experimenting with the concept myself.
>>361402543It sounds a lot lkke you're suggesting mnemonics or vaguely related "triggers".In a different context you could atrach some past trauma to seeing an abusive partner's smile in the story, right?
mommy v4 never
>>361402543I thought you meant using innocuous words to remember important events unrelated to the word itself. For example, in your "rock" tag you would trigger a memory of a recent event in your world, even though it had nothing to do with rocks.I suppose your explanation makes far more sense when you consider how our own memories work. You could find yourself looking at a guitar and remember the time you sang to your friends in front of a campfire, for example. Is that similar to what you had in mind?
>>361379106it actually seems to work, imma try putting in some local smut

We don't really have any point of reference for how a 20B model will feel. For 6B, it was going to be something like Griffin, but as far as bigger models go we only know 175B and that shitty AI21 one.I imagine it will feel smarter, maybe close to the big models, but know less random trivia about obscure media, just because it doesn't have as much space to memorize things. And also because it has less web crawl to learn from.
>>361422179>For 6B, it was going to be something like Griffinsigurd is a hundred times better than griffin, i force fed griffin smut and it wouldn't do anything
>>361420692I do not know. But no anon has posted good lewd samples as far as I saw so far.
>>361422584people are out of mind when they say sigurd = griffin. like go back and play griffin lol
if theres ANYTHING i hope I get from 20B is not having the AI say shit like "you feel her hot breath on your face" while im pounding something from behind
>>361377629Kuru fed it an entire dictionary on japanese and a bunch of literature in a finetune and barely functions.
>>361424818>Her breasts are on your head while she kisses and licks your cheeks, pushing her chest against yours, grinding her butt upon your bulge.
>>361422584This. I have sometimes the most complex scenes with several people doing things and having their own personalities and ways of talking etc. and it can even keep track of what's happening. old-school Griffin wasn't capable of doing this. Dragon might've been but I actually err on the side of saying no, Dragon wasn't quite able to do things like this either, it was better at coming up with things though and picking up subtle stuff. Sigurd is kinda it's own thing at it's point. While all the lore book stuff and Memory/AN stuff on AID was sometimes kinda arcane and it wasn't ever clear if anything actually did anything, with NAI you get a lot more out of it if you put effort into it and effort put in (Modules/Lorebook/Biases/quality Writing) directly translate into output changes. If 20b just makes it all generally smarter and more able to pick up on the small things and follow better, that'd already be huge and will as an end result even be better than mythical summer dragon.
This is more of a general grammar/syntax question that I don't know how to phrase for a search engine. Is this the correct way to write this construct:>We (I) am going to try thisor is it>We (I) are going to try thisOr maybe this "parenthesized text with different syntax requirements" situation should be avoided to begin with?
>>361426768I'm afraid you'll need to actually try and explain, in detail, what you are trying to achieve? The royal "we"? That's literally just plural aimed at one person.
>>361426989It's someone trying to say that when they say "we" they actually mean "I", because they're the individual who will actually be doing it.It's a stupid example of conflicting syntax and I'm sure there is a better one, but this one was in front of me, and my mind is blank.
>>361426768I would only write a sentence like that if I was making a sub-textual dig about what should happen vs. what is. In that case, I would include whatever differs between the sentences in parentheses, or re-word the sentence if I didn't like that.>We are (I am) going to try this out.>We (I) want to try this out.
>>361427147Honestly you should just avoid it, it sounds like more trouble than it's worth unless you want everyone to speak in such a way. Also, I personally refer to myself in the plural sometimes when I think things for no particular reason, and I just say "We are."
>>361393482Have you tried using this system with NAI, anon? I read through the manual and I'm keen on the idea. It seems like a lot of fun.
>>361422179We don't even have a point of reference for how any model bigger than 6B will feel with high quality finetuning, 2048 token limit, and full customizability.
>>361422584Please re-read my post. I said "it was going to be," as in, that was roughly what we expected. Sigurd being much better than Griffin has nothing to do with us not having a reference point for a 20B model.
>>361422179How big is the AI21 model?
>>361429236Jurassic-1 is 178B, 3 billion parameters larger than OpenAI's Davinci.
>>361429340Huh. I would expect such a large model to be decent just because of its size. Unless all those parameters are just really, really poorly matched.
>>361429486But if it's trained on garbage, it'll learn how to infer, interpret, and generate garbage. To go against that would be to go against its programming.
just coomed to a story i made where a really explicit girl sits in a cramped hot tub with you and lets you jack off while she tells you how she gets offholy shit
>>361428645Closest thing we have is what's been said about OpenAI's Cushman, which was 13B, and hailed as the balance between griffin cost-effectiveness and dragon output. With 20B, we'd be going beyond that.
>>361430806To infinity and beyond at that.
>>361422203Idk man, the drink sounds alright to me.
>>361426768I'd recommend not using parentheses in the first place. They're a crude emergency solution to a sentence that fails to get a point across concisely. They almost always decrease the readability of your text, because you're essentially forcing the reader to parse two different sentences at the same time.
Anyone have any noncoom prompts that they enjoy and can recommend for me? I'm at work and it's a bit slow today but I can't be popping wood on the shop floor. I like Sci fi but I'm open to almost anything
>>361432961The shit-planet one is good.
>>361432961I dunno, search the "slice of life" or "open ended" tags and take your pick.
>>361418391I just did.
>>361428169Yes. I even used to use the systems by themselves but it's a lot more interesting with NAI. You can start small by taking "Mythic Variations 2" (google the book, it's easy to find a download) fate check and skipping any RPG system altogether for now. In certain parts in your NAI adventure, instead of letting the AI come up with how things progress (which is, as we all know, sometimes really lopsided, tends to stick close to certain writing tropes and is not truly random, or doesn't have much variance - if the AI understands the situation logically at all) you basically roll the dice. e.g. You try to open the door to a storage closet in an office in your NAI adventure, how likely is it that it's locked? You're unsure so you pick 50/50. You ask yourself if it's locked, roll the result according to the rules, then you write the result back into the prose. In another adventure you get into a fight with somebody in a downtrodden watering hole kind of bar. You ask yourself, will somebody calls the cops? As it's a slummy bar you pick the "not very likely" modifier, roll and the dice comes up No. Nobody called the cops so you don't add that to your NAI adventure. Has the guy a friend that comes to his aid? NAI described the scene earlier as the guy talking to somebody before you started the fight, so you pick very likely, roll, and again add the result to your prose and see what the AI spins. It's very longwinded to explain but it is a lot of fun. The AI is perfectly good at writing prose for your picks if you help it by leading in with some of your own writing but very bad at coming up with these questions by itself, so it's the combination that makes it fun. Especially when you later on end up adding proper RPG systems on the top. You can find a somewhat steady solo thread on /tg/ and there's also a subreddit that's quite active and has links to many resources. I can get engrossed in this shit for hours, it's a killer combination if you have the autism.
I have degraded to a point of where I just generate an excerpt with "empty" (asterism) context with an influencing module and just go on with it for coom storiesI spend no time to think about the scene, the setting, the actions. Just coom.god help me(it's a good way to test modules though)

I'm not sure why I never considered applying RPG style rules to my stories, because my DM experience wholly governs how I write already.>introduce conflict which must be resolved>the solution creates other conflict or changes scene The natural progression is to gamify things to add risk to storylines where I care too much about the characters and abstract some of the narrative effort away from me.I really struggle to hurt my wAIfus. It makes many of their storylines flat and forces me to mostly write slice of life stories where the consequences are not severe.Rolling dice and describing the outcomes is obvious, now that I think about it.>you can start with Mythic Variations 2I'll check that out. I'm strongly considering using the ironsworn system for now, because I don't have any NAI stories in that genre yet and I would like to have a comfy adventure novel going. (Something that AID did better than most things)Already so many character ideas popping into my head.
>>361436349I am seriously considering using Mythic + some rpg system, probably Fate to play a solo adventure, but writing it in Novelai and using the AI (with Pocket Notes) to generate the dialogs and general descriptions. My biggest problem when I'm playing solo is that the dialogs and combat are always more work, and the descriptions are never as good as I want them to be.

Does the AI actually learn on a user by user basis? Or is it just coincidence that it seems to be learning the themes of my previous stories?
>>361452786It's a coincidence facilitated by you being the same person writing in your stories. Your writing style is itself a pattern, and the AI is mighty good at recognizing them.

How do you guys put emphasis on words inside of quotes?Like grammatically, you'd something like this, using ' since it's inside a quote.>"I want sharks with freakin 'lasers' on top of their head"But does the AI actually know that it's a quote inside a quote?Or do you have to just use ">"I want sharks with freakin "lasers" on top of their head"If the second is used, wouldn't that just confuse the AI?I just want to put some emphasis and implications into my sentences and have the AI pick up on it, without explicitly telling it so.In an ideal world, the AI would parse italics, but there probably won't be anything like that for a long long while.
>>361455269maybe try caps? i use it for emphasis online a lot>"I want sharks with freaking LASERS on top of their head"

I wouldn't mind a feature that creates a storybook each time a new character pops up. AID had an atomatic memory feature for like a weeks and it sucked but it at least gave you a reminder and a fresh entry to build on.
>>361605192If you're the same Anon with Red, that hasn't stopped you before.
>>361605261I remember it. I also remember it being unusable.
>>361605261Lorebook generation gets better the more entries you feed into its "context"
>>361605270If I put the word daughter in there anywhere it goes full incest mode. I used to have the word "adopted" in her lorebook, but that caused it to go into incest as well sometimes. I wanted to focus on the lewd, but you're welcome to take it in any direction you like, of course.Oh, and if anyone does try it, let me know how it does with the pheromone thing. In my experience the AI understands pheromones driving someone wild with lust really well, it makes for excellent cooms. Enjoy.
If you get really good results with your prompt without using lorebook or memory, should you just arbitrarily include some anyway, even though you never use them yourself?
>>361607519Not really, unless you want to establish lore for longer playthroughs.
>>361600225what kind of turbo-virgin drew this, lmao
>>361607519Never arbitrarily, you use them to guide your story. If you're using NAI you can click "view current context to see where the memory, A/N, and lorebook entries come into play. A/N is inserted near the bottom so it has a stronger effect, use it to reinforce whatever you want to happen. Memory and lorebook appear at the top and their impact is lessened, use it to remind the AI of certain things in case they fall out of context, such as your character is a dog-girl or whatever. Write about your girl's ears and tail in her lorebook entry and those words will always be visible to the AI, and so they have a better chance of being reused.
>>361608154It's a manga artist Anon, do you expect them to be a sex icon?
>>361608683Memory and lorebook are that the top. The AI will never forget about her defining characteristics, so long as her name is mentioned anywhere in the story.

>>361609929im gonna keep up the bullying and say thisif you're going to ask people to read a wall of text that the AI isnt even going to use, at least use linebreaks

>>361589308Now I am mad too
>>361613497None of us are mad, It seems like a waste of effort because most anons aren't gonna read it all of it and the AI won't understand it. It's good that they had a break cut around what a normal prompt would be like.I get that that the anon has a disclaimer where he encourages people to trim it down because otherwise it wouldn't work. But the fact that the still has 30k+ characters as an "outline of how to write and edit a wolf vore scene in a way the AI can work with" shows it isn't really a prompt. The beauty of prompts is that they're open enough for any anon to work their magic and take the story in different directions, but it's clear that anon either had an intended way of it should be directed or he's just flexing his creative skills. Suppose the average prompt is 6k characters, he could've written 7 prompts instead of pretty much wasting his efforts.
>>361613205exactly right my friend, and any user can train modules for themselves and others. in the OP you can find links for people's modules too, which is pretty sweet: https://aidsrentfree.github.io/modules

>>361614556>The beauty of prompts is that they're open enough for any anon to work their magic and take the story in different directionsIs this true? I've asked in this thread before if I should try to write my prompts that way, but I was just told "b urself".
>>361615309In Novel We Coom.
>>361615173In terms of what's usually referred to as a writing prompt, they're supposed to be open ended. iirc the FAQ even had a part talking about this. Yeah, you can make a giant prompt amounting to an on-rails shooter, but you should be prepared for nobody giving it the time of day.
>>361615309I don't believe this fits the definition of compensation.
>>361615309How many people even bother to use the free 500 steps they get a month?

>>361616004Yes, lets cheer for Holo dying off and have a defacto monopoly like we once did with AIDG
>>361616509Kinda hasty assuming that Anon meant that in a positive, mirthful way.Nobody here genuinely wants to see Holo die.
>>361616509I legit cannot see kurumuz cucking when AID literally has better models. Once 20B happens though... the percent chance is no longer zero.
>>361616509What did Holo push the NovelAI to do in the competition? All I can see is Holo trying to keep up with features and replicating what NAI did. Leeching behaviour and unrealistic prices by getting investments just like AID. I don't agree it is a good competition.
>>361616752I meant my post to be disappointed and accepting the inevitable. I'm happy if i'm wrong.
>>361616780Oh anon, you don't see. This is how the game should be played.> Get investments> Undercut competitor by not being profitable at all> Live off investor money> Hope people subscribe to your product because you are cheaper> Hike the prices

>>361616946I'm talking about 175beaks, which you can get with any input that doesn't has the word fuck in it.The AID survivor experience (well, only because I got the "sorry for banning you" deal), is to post a lot of detail and enjoy the huge beakage then do the minimum amount of posts in jax jail, and then get paroled, rinse repeat.
>>361616780>replicating what NAI did>Holo basically copied Novel's code since it's open source>They had trouble copying modules since Kuru and crew didn't make it open source
>>361617261its still cucked with cyoaids though
>>361617190As long as those prices are not realistic and they have to get investments to keep the prices low, we lost anyway. If that is your understanding of independence so be it, but investors will never be okay with you getting your waifus.
>>361616780Didn't they implement token bias which then made NAI implement phrase bias?

>>361617334You are wrong Anon, Holo only took 3 months to replicate modules.>>361617380I had token bias on the backend and I wasn't happy with it and was planning phrase bias. Then LC seen logit bias being talked about on the thread and decided to pull a fast one on us by just doing a frontend design(logit bias was implemented on our open-source codebase), Phrase bias development had nothing to do with that and started much earlier (Which then LC tried to do a sub par job to copy)
>>361616752The two or three schizos who got incandescently mad about LC mirroring prompts from the club probably genuinely want it to die
Keep in mind Kuru said NAI's current pricing is with future models in mind. AID gets away with selling limited Dragon access and unlimited full 2048 context GPT-J for only $10 a month. Kuru also has to pay more developers than Holo. I think all this talk about Holo dying is just anons being excessively bored while they wait for 20B.
>>361617190>pricing $60/month like some lunatics here are sayingThis would literally slash their subscriber count to a number Aini could count on her tiny suckable toes.
