Does anyone here play pic related? Pretty fun little game where you build and fly your own aircraft. Some people make really detailed versions of IRL and Ace Combat jets, although it's usually a crapshoot whether they actually fly well.
>>334269258Plens!>>334269319I don't. Do you need a beefy PC to run it?
>>334269258i dont get how the 360° cockpit works. are there camera screens everywhere inside the cockpit or is it pure glass as in a canopy? Also, how would this provide a tactical advantage when the pilot focuses on anything above his torso?
>>334269463No, there's a version that runs on phones. Some of the more complex player creations can tax your PC pretty hard but the kind of things you throw together with the basic non-modded building tools are no problem whatsoever. There's no story mode or whatever and the flight model isn't nearly as fluid as Ace Combat even on planes that are well built, but it's fun to dick around in. Worth getting on sale.
>>334269730It's 360 degrees, the sensors on the outside of the canopy are most likely not even the cameras since the screens don't match up

So do you guys all wanna fuck planes or what?
>>334298449I mean sure, but this didn't need to take as long as it did. The first time around I did the individual routes by making additional saves at every choice level (or where I guessed there'd be some). The whole "progress saved across 2 game disks" thing resulted in progress being all over the place so I did a second full playthrough, since I needed all A's instead. You don't know just how painful it is to go from a final mission back to the prologue, feels like you're going slowmo. So I did all the missions back to back going UPEO, GR, NEU, GR-OURO and finally NEU-OURO and shit. Then, because I had to skip a mission in GR-Ouro for an S-Rank (you can get 3 targets go to get a "fuck your fleet lma- Is that a ICBM?" mission, but you get a D-Rank for doing so. Probably should 'ave done that route after Neucom desu, had to go through Neucom-Ouro again after doing that mission to synchronize Disk 1 - Disk 2 progress data. This could have all been alot easier if we didn't have 2 disks, wew.'tleast I'm done. Now I can go back to 4
>>334300297>This could have all been alot easier if we didn't have 2 disks, wew.Blame disk technology
>>334300262Why wouldn't I?
My dislike for the F-35 stems from purely aesthetic reasons, it's like they took the F-22 and decided to make it ugly.
>>334300262Are you trying to kinkshame or something?
>>334300167You have to hit both throttle and brake, and immediately pitch up as you do so. Your speed must also be very low beforehand, just a bit above normal stall speed, and the throttle should be at "idle power" before you attempt the manoeuvre.

>>334367205Absolutely. The MiG-29 is in my opinion one of the best 2000 point jets in the game. It might struggle a little in the higher point counts but keeping a 2000 point setup with HPAA on standby is never a bad idea. I usually just toss all the SPW upgrades on there that I can muster. I'd say that missile speed and homing performance are the most important ones though.
I really wish that we could have a SPW filter rather then a blanket ban on them when making a lobby. EML, QAAM and SASM can really ruin games.

Wait, has there been no update to PW these past few months?I vaguely remember plans for more stuff.
>>334405229Planes usually fare better in colder, less humid environments.I've got the opposite problem, I simply cannot stand temperatures lower than 12°C.>>334406102I've heard that Arby's sick so that's why we haven't heard much about it. Just rumours.
>>334406102There's supposed to be around 10 more planes, one of which being the PF-X and one the PW-MK.2. Maybe also 3 more missions but those missions in the game files might just be cut and not unfinished. After all of that modding tools too but that'll be a little while.
>>334406529>I've heard that Arby's sick Ah yes, the classic indie dev sickness, particularly common among hentai game developers for some reason. Anyway, I wish he gets better soon.

the missile knows where you are
Are donut steels still allowed?I sketched up two planes here but I'm not sure which one works better. They're supposed to be single engine versions of the push-pull prop fighter design that I got lying around (you can see it at the very top in the background), a predecessor for it. Kinda what the FW-190A is to the Dora. Primary changes besides removing one engine are that the wings are further forward, the different nose and that it has a razorback now instead of the more bubble like canopy. It should also be slightly shorter, bringing it more in line with the size of the average fighter, at least a little bit.Any thoughts or feedback on what to work on? Also just if they actually look proper and not just like I cut the back off a plane design haphazardly.

>>334425649It is. The pushpull is one of my oldest designs, but it was always meant ot have a single engine counterpart.>>334425762Those are just from the other design, but I think for this one we can add nose guns, maybe two others in the wing root for a little more 190, but two cannons and two MGs should work too, then it gets uprated to four or five cannons with the upgrade.>>334425876Go ahead, the tail could use a bit of a better ending, i.e. what it does on the Zero, but I might also just change the rudder to actually go all the way down so that it makes for the end.
>>334426848>Those are just from the other designOh, I hate them on the real-life Spitfire, Hurricane and Typhoon, too. They just look stupid. One such design is the P-404, named after room 404 in the facility that it was designed in, nicknamed the Firespitter for the absolutely hellacious amount of fire it can throw at the enemy (for a total of about ten seconds before running out of ammo and charges).>It is a push-pull design, with one forward facing and two rear facing engines, the pods of the latter form the housing for a number of weapons. All three engines are equipped with CRPs. The rear facing engines are modular in that their propellers are easily swapped for voldrives for aether travel. Alternatively all three engines may be swapped with jets or for any hybrid combination. Mounting points for RATO rockets or internally carried rocket boosters for combat are also built into the design. For piston engines it is equipped with turbo superchargers as well as two different kinds of WEP boost for both low and high altitude operations.>Lastly an attachment point below the outboard engines allows for additional jets to be mounted for more power if needed>The weapon mounts on the Spitter are built to take a variety of different guns or energy weapons as desired. >>334489319Watch the edge of your radar. Firing a weapon always breaks stealth, so you can (1) determine where the missile is going to come from, (2) fly towards the dickhead shooting it and kick their ass. (2) also reduces the missile's flight time by flying towards, which helps you avoid HVAA's bullshit delayed QAAM-tier homing.
>>334505674I haven't run into a single LAAM FB-22 player on PS4. It's all still QAAM/8AAM F-22A, ADMM CFA-44, or EML X-02S.

So they finally landed a Starship.SN15 made a soft landing, and it was only a tiny bit on fire after touchdown. This is good news, it means we should be able to land on the moon before this decade is out to start fighting the Bellans

For a few hours, then for a day or two on the later missions.Just to show that it could be done. But now we're goign to actually learn how to stay. To actually use the time up therfe to learn all that is to learn, to develop the technologies and processes we need to go further.>>334526582NASA is not the problem. The US congress is. >>334527102Weeeeelll. . .it could be better. Like, it could be NOT on fire. But for rocket testing, this is actually fine. The main goal was to test the landing maneuvers, the aerodynamic controls, the thrusters (though the cold gas nitrogen thrusters are only an interim solution) and to get the engiens to reliably re-ignite in flight. And they achieved that. You have to look at this as what it actually is: A development prototype being tested to destruction. And in rocket development, it used to be normal that the first three or five would literally explode on the pad, or during ascent. And that was after a dozen engine explosions on the test stand.Even one of the most reliable boosters we have today, the Ariane 5, failed on the first launch due to a software error. And they're trying to LAND A ROCKET here, with multiple engines lighting up and shuting down, and all the sensors and computers working in realtime, with literally zero tolerance for failure. Nobody else on this world actually does this, and SpaceX makes it look easy with the Falcon 9 on a weekly basis.OK, yeah. Blue Origin is doing almost the same thing, with their suborbital toursim thing. They will fly their New Glenn next year, but by that point Starship will have gone though orbital test flights. So, is it normal? No. But in rocket testing, it is.

What's your prototypefu?
>>334530704>If it's not a bother, what's their greatest priority in the test pipeline right now?The curent test series was designed to see if the landing aerobatics work, and if you can do the flip and landing burn. i.e. Starship is in free fall at termianl velocity, at 10 km altitude, belly down. It uses the flaps and attitude control thusters to control the flight path into a position where it can re-light the engines, turn itself upright, and soft land on a landing pad. This proves that their landing concept works. Now they have to get it to a point where it works on time, every time. The next things to test are oribtal flight and re-entry. They have used larger and larger sections of heat-shielding tiles on the last few prototypes, presumably to see how well they remiand attached during the tests, and to learn the process of attacking them. They have already built a contruction prototype of their Supeaheavy booster, and will fly teh first prototpye of that later this year. The next three Starships will lead up to the orbital testing part. Obviosuly, we do not really have a timetable for all that.In a way, what we see here are 1930s mail flights and flying boats and the first few intercontinetal flights. We know that the technology works. We know it can help everyone. But we're still decades away from a time where buying a plane ticket is little more than a bus or train ticket.
>>334517549I will try to pay attention to that but usually it's some fag in a yf23 and with the range upgrade onalso some people are somehow really really good at landing LAAM shots! so I get blown away well before I ever see them and then there's two I've faced that just spam PSM in a flanker and I can't compete at all

I never thought about this before but most AC games do have mostly bittersweet stories. I guess it's kinda hard to do a 100% happy war story, it would probably come off as weird too.
>>334557698Can't write a super happy story when in the background tens or maybe even hundreds of thousands of people get killed over the course of the war
>>334557698I dunno, they're stories about kicking the shit out of Eruseans, Belkans, Estovakians, and Belkans, so it sure seems pretty cheerful.
>>334558274Yeah, I guess the only way to do it would be, assuming it's a human vs human conflict, to paint your side as being competely righteous and faultless while dehumanizing the human side to the point where you don't even see them as humans, and then just having nothing bad actually happen to the characters in your side. At that point it pretty much starts looking like a propaganda piece.

No plane stories I can remember he was a radar guyI do remember one that I can post here But first this one not so much a story just kind of neat to knowIn the 60's some USN ships had a nice selection of soviet weapons in their armory. According to him the Ak's were the preferred gun for many of the sailors as it just handled better compared to their other gun choices on the ship.As you were required to keep your shooting skills up then I'm its the same nowYes they did try grenade fishing in the ocean. Throwing explosives into the water was a way to pass timeOne has always stuck out the most as its both funny and gross I'll put the gross part in black boxHow they dealt with the annoying guy that was assigned to the radar room. He was kind of a dick. So they started asking what kind of food he likes said he liked chocolate pie. One day they brought a glass pie plate to the radar roomA few guys grabbed him held him down while another held the glass pie plate right over his face and they held his eyes open. Next guy walks over drops his pants squats down and takes the biggest dump he can right into the pie dish. New guy is never an asshole to them again

>>334604384It made a big thumping sound, but the calf didnt seem to give much of a thought.
>>334560675SHES NOT FUCKING DEAD
>>334608441it's ok she's fine
>>334617486I always find it a little funny how—canonically—Prez is from Japan (or at least what's left of it in the PW-verse) but there's not a single artist who interpreted her that way.
>>334617818theres some but not manypic rel is example
>>334617818Just what happens when one particular artist's interpretation catches on.
>>334576227>stands still when a block of 2 tons of steel is coming right at themI actually do the same thing, my natural response to seeing something scary is becoming paralyzed and not moving. I feel like if I saw a car coming to run me over I'd probably end up standing on the spot looking at it instead of jumping away.
>>334620158So you're saying that when AC8's enemy superweapon starts shooting cars at you, you're fucked?
>>334620059Much like how girl versions of Cipher are basically always that one Zombieland Saga character?
>>334621325Here's hoping for co-op then. I'll shield you from the car launchers, and you take care of the sock puppet mechas.
>>334621616I'm sure we'll make a great team.
>>334621341No clue about that, I see Huxian in a way for the soldier one, but that's mostly the hair, and nothing for the knight one. Unless you mean another depiction. But I won't complain about freckled prez really, because that hits the spot for me
>>334583107>>334583190Remember, buddies, all that matters is that you have fun with it and give it your best. It's good to have you around.
>>334626141>X-wingsWouldn't Prez be an astromech in this case?
>>334629591https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzcGzbX2sW0Sure why not
>>334629591I'll turn her into one with my spaceAOA'ing
I think I understand why some people didn't like the story of AC6 at all, 95% of the dialogue in cutscenes is people explaining things that are happening right infront of them and how they feel about it.Like bitch shut the fuck up and let the scene play out! you are talking over yourself! how does that work?
>>334628629would this work for the collage buddies?
>>334632865That's adorable and somehow more italian than I am. It'll be a nice fit, good work buddy!
>>334634654thanks buddy :)
>>334608441you could of ejected buddy, you could of just left Crimson One to his own devices and show that you had nothing to prove to him so that you and Prez could survive to see another dayyou were the one that chose to keep fighting him even once she passed out from G-LOC, you're responsible for her death
>>334635616>eject in front of a guy who was killing allies and setting off WMDs
>>334635616>could ofbruhalso, I don't think Crimson One takes forfeits.
>>334632865Sure, I'll add it later
why do planes in ace combat have like a 10.0 thrust to weight ratio?
>>334636063Accelerating to mach 3 in 10 seconds is fun.
Ace combat but your awacs is may hammond clarkson
>>334636186They rotate as AWACS, the other two are your wingmen, and you're the Stig.
>>334635757they were already shot down and he only had a single WMD on him to use on Presidia, second you eject as far as he's concerned he's won since he did all that just to get a shot at dogfighting you solo to prove himself the superior pilot so you ejecting to save Prez he'd gladly accept as him being superior to you since he was just desperate to prove himself better at that pointas for the war, it was over the second Crimson One caused the disaster, taking C1 on was Monarch's choice, it may of been better to deal with him there and then but it could of easily been dealt with later since even the Federation troops on the ground were clearly appalled by what he did so i'd imagine the Federation at large would hang him out to dry for putting the ceasefire into jeopardy
>>334635616Eject over a glowing, smouldering crater? Besides, ridding the world of someone like him feels like it would be a good idea.
What are your thoughts on Hegemonic stability theory ?
>>334636747Great if you're the hegemon, shitty if you're not because it means the hegemon is fucking with your affairs and hiding behind "muh international stability" to do it.
What's a hegemon
anyone got a thread ready or shall i try to make another?
>>334636951I'll do it this time, worry not buddy
>>334636747Osean propaganda to maintain their self assumed world police role
>>334637164ty, im a little short on ideas since im basically the rampant AC6 fag of the thread so all ive got for now is AC6 thread ideas
>>334636747It's a load of bullshit and only exists to half ass some paper thin moral reasoning behind imperialism that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. The stability only exists in the hegemon and the states that cowtow to it. Instability pops up everywhere that doesn't bend the knee as the hegemon throws its weight around. And over time, the cost and resource drain of continuing to do so chips away at the hegemon itself as its military-industrial complex grows steadily out of control, until the people of the hegemon itself start getting disgruntled, which in turn leads to the hegemon using its "stability enforcement policies" on its own citizens.
>>334636910The big cheese.
>>334637350It's alright, buddy. I wish I could play 6.
>>334528008Humans are perverts that can't leave anything untouched
>>334637780I should buy one of these, only costs a thousand bucks.
>>334636462>they were already shot downAnon he was killing allies to launch those missiles long before then. Shooting ejected enemy pilots is definitely on the cards.
>>334638284Plus, since he wanted to fight you and only you "properly", wouldn't he also kill people who'd aid him? And seeing what he wants to do, remaining Fed forces would probably turn on him immediately if he let them live.
>>334638456he came at you with a superfighter after nuking the entire city, he didn't care about winning properly, he cared about winning
>>334639064Then again, he does say that it's to "see who's the better pilot", so either it's a smug insult or maybe he's stupid enough to think that showing up in a superfighter is not a gigantic advantage.
<</aceg/, you're cleared to taxi.>>>>334639254>>334639254>>334639254
