The character freedom more than makes up for any dated mechanics. It's so fun just going out into the star wars universe and do whatever. This playthrough I became a biologist and I'm going around studying plants. I love swtor and it's a ton of fun, but it's a themepark mmo on rails. That's not a bad thing, but SWG's freedom to just walk out the door and find something to do is a really fun contrast. They're quite different games, despite both being star wars mmo's on the cover.SWG was truly a special game and it's too bad it's not still around in full.

Consular is my main character and the one I did the expansions with way back when they came out. She of course loves Lana.I kind of want as many of the classes who have a class specific romance to go with them. So naturally that means Knight with Kira and Warrior with LS Jaesa.Then a couple classes found someone in their life already, Smuggler went with Theron, Inquisitor went with Talos, and Hunter went with Torian.That leaves Trooper and Agent. Trooper is fine, she had a crush on Jaxos and now her gun is her true love.But we're left with an awkward situation. Agent doesn't have anyone, and when I played the expansions with Agent I did date Lana because I couldn't resist, and because Agent didn't have anyone at that time. But that creates a weird alternate reality where Agent and Consular are both dating Lana in a simultaneous time and space quantum alternate reality. But, one way to solve this is to actually have Consular go with Nadia, since we want as many classes who have a class specific romance to go with that class specific romance, which would leave Agent with Lana. Everything would work out.But the Consular+Lana dynamic feels wrong to change since that's been such an important part of my shitposting for so long.

The macrobinocular storyline is cool so far and I like the characters and the puzzles, but the actual macrobinocular'ing has been terrible. This one is sending me way out into the middle of nowhere on Alderaan where no taxi will take you, just so I can take a picture. Plus there's like 4-6 on every planet it really is taking me to every planet so far. I wish I could just skip this dumb tedious fetch quest section and get to the next puzzle section. It's especially pronounced tedium since I'm not doing much else on these planets, I'm not like doing this while I'm doing the story, I'm going back and doing this.

I really enjoyed lightside Sith (race) Sith (job) a lot too. There was a lot of eyerolling at how people reacted to you and it was pretty funny sometimes. I actually left Warrior to like second to last of the 8 stories because I assumed it was just going to be Darth Vader power fantasy, but I ended up liking the story a lot and it's probably one of the best as well as one of my favorite. Lightside that is, dark side is pretty much what I expected the darkside playthrough to be like.

Even if she had bad intentions from the start, it makes sense that she would notice the enthusiastic light side smuggler doing everything and she just kinda says "oh, this is even better than what I had planned" and sticks with you. But the dark side smuggler that is doing whatever and talks trash about the republic and just wants to be paid and never goes the extra mile, it makes sense she would say "okay this person is lame and I just need to string them along long enough".But that would be major plot changes based on your decisions and we can't have that in an mmo.

Basically just play BH unless you're rich and planning on playing a female DS commando. Don't make my mistakes.
