>>313115809You'd like KotC anon. The AI likes to do that. If there's anything else it could do, it chooses specifically to target your wizard whenever possible.
>>313117075I'm not sure I'd actually like that, after playing through early game NWN with a Wizard, and spending most of my time running away to plink-plonk shoot people while my summoned badger tanks.
>>313117969You start with four party members though.
Man oh man oh man. Enemies are getting tougher. Baldur's Gate 2 showered you with magical loots. Icewind Dale 1 does not.
>>313118158You might have missed some of it. But you should be getting a good amount of it.
>game menu slowly pans in without any sound effects or musicPathfinder kingmaker is weird already huh
>>313118639The menu elements are active from the very beginning, so you can click on them while the animating is being played. I literally didn't want to believe there are people who wait until the end every fucking time before hitting Load Game.
>>313118864It's the first time I opened the game
I hate this job.
>>313119051Oh, I didn't mean to criticise you or anything. The 2nd part of my post was more of an aimless rant, as some players really had the nerve to complain about the menu animation. As if they were forced to wait it out every time, meanwhile they just didn't pay attention. I hope you'll have a good time!
Kingmaker seems real cool, but do you guys play turnbased or real time?>>313122286I know I know I'm just saying, it was really funny though made me check my sound settings
>>313122337>Kingmaker seems real cool, but do you guys play turnbased or real time?Yes.
>read some warnings about beheadings in these games>how bad could it be>ninjas mostly deal chip damage>suddenly my backline drops dead>end up running away at full speed because the mobs in this dungeon are turboniggersI've learned my lesson.
>>313122337I'd recommend RtwP, at very least for the first run. The game was made with this system in mind after all. It also has a "Tactical Time Flow" feature which is basically "press and hold V for continuos slow-motion". I found that a great complementary tool to the usual "stop every second or two" tactics.
I'm reposting my webm. This is a spider spining. Spin spider. Spin.
Yeah ok so I tried real time and it kinda sucks ass, I don't wanna play Tyranny again, especially if I can just play videogame pathfinder insteadThanks for the opinions tho
>>313122337Turn based is what made a lot of people actually finish the game, it improves the combat tenfold.
>>313118158Monk bro, considering how fresh PoE is on your mind, you want to rate it for me so I can average with my own?Anyone else willing to join in, feel free to do so as well and leave a pseudonym.Content/Writing/Combat • xx/10
>>313131457Content 9/Writing 7/Combat 8.Being a bit generous with the combat, and really generous with Content/writing due to white march and them eventually boosting level caps from 12.Pillars without WM would be like 7/6/7.MeaCulpa
I like to get really high and lose my self in immersive things. Since there are no good MMOs I thought i'd try an RPG. Any suggestions?
>>313131457I liked the combat a lot. I'd give it a 10/10 or a 9/10. The game's story was forgettable.
>>313132120Play Disco Elysium, do all the drugs
>>313132120Seconding disco elysium, I don't even do drugs and that game stole space in my brain for at least a month after I was doneIt's just that good
>>313132120Here's something different. Try out Exanima. It's a physics based game. Spooky atmosphere. Good combat.
I need to know what part of the json or other file to edit so that Jubilost doesn't die in the House at the End of Time.
>>313132120Top-notch exploration feeling and environment, Baldur's Gate 1.Top-notch writing to make your imagination go wild, Planescape: Torment.Maximum drugs on drugs overdose, Disco Elysium.
>>313132120If you can keep track of the numbers game while high and don't mind forgetting a lot of what you did the next day, it can be a good time. I fail in both respects so I stick to using it for an easy flow state in competitive games.
>>313132156Also. Some of the encounters were really challenging on Path of the Damned. I remember all of the dragon fights being super fun. The final boss was tricky at first. The archmage fights were a blast on Path of the Damned. Endless path was decent on Path of the Damned too. Actually, all of the fights were pretty enjoyable on Path of the Damned. I don't remember there being any lame fights. Then again, that was on Path of the Damned. I have no clue what it's like on the easier difficulties.
Will get back to both of you shortly.>>313131754Noted, thank you. Will take the rating with WM included, as I've been using the full standard release for every title thus far.>>313132156>>313132983Got you, thank you as well. We share an approximate view on it's combat, believe they did a really good job on that front as well.
Bros. Why is gold so hard to come by in this game... I can't buy any of the epic loots...
I want to save up for the Pikeman's End, for Paladin Man. But it costs over thirty thousand gold :(
>>313133679You need to strategize a bit more. Some merchants buy shit for more than others (like Orrick compared to Temple). Remember to always have the high charisma guy do the shop shit. Use Friends if necessary,Check for pickpocketing wherever you go, sometimes you get good items to keep or sell, like in Kuldahar.Keep only the absolutely necessary consumables ( do not Hoard scrolls a la kingmaker)
>>313134049Oki doki. When should I start Heart of Winter, by the way? I didn't know talking to this guy would take me to a far away place...
>>313132648The cheat mod won't let you restart quests you've "successfully" completed, so you can't fix the issue with that. Does anyone know how to do this?
>>313131754>>313132156Will be further dropping updated versions of previous titles itt, fixed a typo and averaged game length for a more accurate approximation.
>>313134480Yeah I agree with that score for combat. It's pretty good stuff.

>>313115605Smart anons. I have a big question. What programming language would you recommend for building a character planner for Pathfinder? And more importantly, how do I even go about doing this.
>>313136358Ooh. Any ideas, on which ones I can copy.
>>313136706Anyone that has a github, I guesshttps://github.com/Maetrim/DDOBuilder/releases
>>313135583You can use my pseudonym if you want Abuyin ibn Djadir ibn Omar Kalid ben Hadji al Sharidi
>>313137012No I don't get it, bros. Aw man. I wish I had a friend who knew programming stuff.
Oh yeah. To the anon who was asking about looking for a crack for Pillars of Eternity Deadfire, here you go: https://gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_pillars_of_eternity_2_deadfire.shtmlThe site basically hosts cracks to games.
>>313145612Just use rutor.
I've been looking at a bunch of thingies on github. I came across this one, it seems like something I can learn from, but you can't modify feat selection in it.
>>313148710It also doesn't really let you customize anything, save for stats, level, class, race, and background. Aw man. I wish there was a repo anon of character planner. /mjg/ repo anon's github helped me with making the /crpgg/ repo. Hm, maybe I can poke around some of the /vg/ ops and see if any of them have a character planner with a github or something.
>>313123940Was it trying to dodge something? AI in games with 'zone of control' will skip around in those like ballerinas if you let them.
Why do people like Ydwin? She seems boring, even in her DLC.
>>313132620Did they iron out the drunkenness effect from the combat already? That shit was so prevalent in the earlier versions.
Fixed typo and game length, v1.1
>>313136179c# is going to be the easiest if you're a total noobieYou can literally drag and drop Windows forms in Visual Studio. Then you just double click the element, and it brings up an event handler where you put your code to handle the button click or whatever is happeningVS also keeps you from fucking things up all the time as much
>play divinity 2>fuck around with formation, tank in front, casters behind>it doesn't matter because 75% of the enemies have the "*teleports behind you* pssh nothing personnel" move
>>313168702>windowswith some basic html/css/js, you can make that shit work in any browsercharacter planner like that could literally be contained in a single .html file
>>313170950Yeah, every caster needs the self-teleport spell
>>313170950As much as I love high mobility actions in TB games, D:OS II not only had too much, they were also not only easily accessible they were far too easy to reset. One of my main complaints about their system. After so much gloating about their ground AOE aids mechanic, it's easily ignored with the countless mobility options and armor.
>>313119995the little shit probably deserved it
>>313172468He DID attack me
Fixed game length, v1.1Not to brag but the BG II logo came out amazing, without a doubt my favorite so far. >>313167897
Why couldn't obsidian make up a more or less shitty reason in PoE 2 that allowed you to fight Eothas in the end?You got the gods capable of fueling their energy into people, like Eothas did before PoE 1. Party fought a ton of godlike creatures even in PoE 1. Why couldn't obsidian just make up SOME reason for the game to have a final le epic bossfight? The main character would become the avatar of Woedica or something. The end was just so unsatisfying. Perhaps even more than Tyranny. Now I will die.
Arcane Trickster or Eldritch Knight for a blaster wizard? I need big numbers
>>313180367Arcane Trickster for big numbers.Kineticist for biggest numbers all the time.
>>313180367Former. EK is mostly used for melee / gish casters or extra survivability.
>>313179694Because Sawyer doesn't understand the difference in humbling the player mid/early game (see rymrgand, it's good because it makes you spite him) and doing so at the climax of the story without any "win" or "progress". Sawyer doesn't know how to write endings, he only writes sequencial developments until he drains his budget and ships the game.
>>313180367AT is really solid if you want to be a nuker. I just wrapped up an unfair run through on it to put PFKM to bed for good.
I really really really REALLY fucking hate the dungeon design in Divinity 2. They are not hard, just annoying and slow.
>>313179694Finding out you don't kill E*thas in the end basically killed the entire game for me back when it released. I still haven't gotten around to playing it and if I ever do, I am doing as little of the main quest as possible.
>>313187692That's not even problem number 20 on the issues of the main plot and it's progression
>>313188069Don't care. The game could be literally perfect except for not being able to kill him and my thoughts would be exactly the same.
>>313188319Retards do have weird hang-ups, I guess
>>313188479That word does not mean what you think it does, anon. But whatever, Deadfire is shit for many reason, you thinking so for silly ones does not change much.
>>313188716Yeah I know it's shit, I don't know why you keep trying to change my mind.
>>313188825I am not trying to change your mind , anon.I am just calling you a moron.
>>313188865Yeah I know, you're a moron and keep lashing out because of it, I'm yawning over here bro.
Tip for make good STR vivisectionist PLSIn less retarded terms what the fuck do I do? It seems everyone takes 7 different dips at any given time, can I just do monk for crane style and forget about the other bullshit? I just wanna do big numbers
>>313189151Yes, I know even simple posts like these are hard for you to keep up with and you get drowsy.
>>313189247>no ur posts are dumZzZzzzzzz....sleepy......zzZZzzzzz
>>313189231If you are playing STR vivi,I'd suggest simply splitting levels roughly in half with a full bab martial class, depending on your weapon.Like 7-8 levels of THF, 10 of Barb, 10 slayer, something like that. You can play pure strength vivi, I guess but ways to boost your BAB beyond mutagen help
>>3131709502 levels into scoundrel or whatever the fuck the rogue skill tree is, then you get the pawn and the little teleport plus the passive bonus to crit, also a few levels into huntsman for the insane height damage bonus and another teleportdivinity is made for dipping
>>313189376i did not call your post dumb in that case anon, I called you a retard who cannot keep up.But I never expected reading comprehension to be your strong suit.
Thank you to the guy who recommended finesse, every other hit is a critical now. I don't think I need any more points into small guns, what do you think I should put them into? Planning on going to the Glow next for power armour and +1 to every attribute.
Kingmaker. Is it possible to romance Kalikke at all (the tiefling twin sister with blue eyes)?I find her innocence, tone and portrait more appealing than Kanerah (red eyed). I know you can romance Kanerah but what about Kalikke?
>>313198263It is, but it basically requires that you initially romance Kanerah first. There's a very limited number of Kalikke romance points to acquire, and I know at least one is locked behind a relationship with Kanerah.Assuming you've got enough points with both, after you complete their final quest, you'll get a choice to say you love Kanerah, Kalikke or both.
Which mods for Kingmaker could be seen as necessary or must have?
Are you ready for a game in your game to play while you play!HoMM is coming in new PF!Strategic layer army leader will have a PF progression with classes etchttps://youtu.be/oatcoFv-20c?t=447
>>313201264Alrighty then, thanks!
Am I a monster for not enjoying the world of Divinity.Like, at all?I don't like the races, I dont like the way magic works in there, I dont like the deities, I dont like how the world works in general and I dont like source. It doesn't matter to me that the combat is decent if I hate everything else
>>313204189Jesus they should have implemented that in kingmaker, where, you know, you actually lead a state
>>313207590which divinitythere's like six games in the series, and the titles are all over the place, especially with faggots mixing up 2 and os2
>>313207791Im talking about the OS gamesI managed to play the third person games to completion but I never took the world seriously, since not even the game did it.But OS slaps you with its world building seepign with larian-humor and It prevents me from playing it
>>313207590>>313207939That's understandable. Personally, I couldn't be assed to play the first one past like 1/3rd of it. And while the second one is mildly better with more options etc, I couldn't bear to play through it more than once. These games could unironically be better off with a completely generic setting instead.
Should I get a tag perk for energy weapons or just start putting points into them as is?
>>313204189Is this wotr's gimmick like kingdom management was in Kingmaker?
>wasting perk on Tagdoesn't look like you have 10 Int
>>313207590I remember nothing about the world except for the sprawling lizard empire, which is very basedSo no ur ok
3 rogue/ 16 vivisectionist or 1 monk/ 19 vivisectionist ?
That was satisfying. Time to blow through the endgame.
>>313214413what is so good about vivi?
>>313216025it has free stats, free natural attacks and a lot of feats plus some spells, monk gives me more attacks and AC but rogue gives me more damage (in theory, maybe) so I'm conflicted
I'm on chapter 3 of Kingmaker and it feels like the enemy save against my spells what must be 80+% of the time. Spells targeting fortitude in particular feel universally worthless. Am I doing something wrong or is the whole game just built like this?
>>313223407Enemy stats are overloaded to compensate for the fact you have a six-man party. In general, a lot of the things you fight are also big beefy things with high Con. This makes most partial spellcasters (Bards, Magus etc etc) quite hit or miss with their CC and debuff spells, since they typically lack the spell levels, raw stats and feats needed to get their DC high enough to be reliable. The Best CC are those you can apply to a wide area, make your guys immune to, and last a long time and continually reapply their debuff. This gives you a huge tactical advantage in that area, and even the beefiest of beefeaters have a 5% chance to be rendered useless every round in said zones. Grease, Web and Stinking Cloud are the go to options for this precise reason.
>>313207590OS really doesn't give a shit about setting a proper tone, so no.
Is 9 a good level to end Troll Trouble, aka chapter 2 in Kingmaker?
>>313191818>>313209094You sure you're good on small guns? Remember always getting around 101 before dropping it, might just be my autism though. Can't remember Fallout 1 progression but the next one would be Energy, I guess?

>>313207590Larian themselves don't really give a fuck about their setting, so you are cool. Most DOS fans don't play that game for the story anyway.
>>313242421Yeah, I one-shot the necropolis mutant squad with a .223 pistol and killed a deathclaw in 3 turns. Criticals are just that good. Using a plasma rifle now, it's got highest damage in the game.
The Forefather just showed up and triggered Kanerah and Kalikke's quest. After I had already finished the House at the End of Time and after I'd dispelled the Lantern King's curse.JUST
>>313281760I went for melee weapons on my first playthrough, but this is way more fun.

>>313204189Not much to go by here, just hope they've learned with the experience of designing the Kingmaker system. It's very different but they should have thousands of feedback either way, to work and expand on and a very good base to leech from in the form of HoMM.
I didn't even know this guy existed, had to use a stealth boy getting to him or the whole area goes hostile
>>313307461Wonder if the reason Abbey was cut from Fallout 2 was its similarities to The Cathedral or the Brotherhood of Steel.
What is a good crpg with good romances? Already played BG2 btw.
I've finished Act I in DOS2 and I'm dead tired of this game. I'm tired of having to pick up shit one by one from every table and every cupboard inb4 just leave shit behind - I can't, I have to pick up every piece of trashI'm tired of throwing around boxes and barrels to stop the traps or activate something. I'm tired of teleporting enemies. I'm tired.
>>313310636If you're that tired, drop the game, it doesn't get any better than Act 1.Act 2 is average, at best, with it's open sand box aspect and worth a play, but anything afterwards just goes further downhill.
After all these years, Fallout 1 is still the only game to feature a church shooting as part of its main plot
>>313311094I'm puzzled by this game. It's like it was designed to be a pain in the ass to play.
>>313310370Dragon Age: Origins, maybe? Someone else might have to give further input, haven't played it yet, just going by hearsay and what titles I did play so far.>>313311715You might be picking up too much irrelevant stuff, but I do recall some intensive inventory management sections myself; coupled with a lot of shopping sprees, considering it's god awful item progression.
>>313310370I am also looking for more CRPGs with good romances.Entirely subjective of course but for CRPGs I suggest: -Knights of the old republic (also maybe the sequel)-Dragon age origins (sequel for good romances but meh game)-Neverwinter nights 2 if you like elves-Fallout 4, meh game but good romances in my opinion with lots of dialogueIf you are interested in RPGs that aren't CRPGs: -Dragon quest 5 (DS or ps2 version), you get to select your wife party member about 25 % into game and her dialogue is dynamic according to environment and your interactions for the rest of game-Fire emblem awakening and fates, not very interactive romances but a broad array of wives and heartwarming/cheesy (your mileage may vary) dialogue
>>313312592>Neverwinter nights 2 if you like elvesNWN2 have romances? I thought Obsidian didn't do those.
>>313313128Yes. NWN2 got a full romance with party member female druid elf that evolves over game. She also joins early.Expac mask of the betrayer got a bald woman party member romance. I don't fancy bald women tho.
>>313312592>Neverwinter nights 2 if you like Neeshkas and hate Sawyer
>>313316493they should have dropped bald woman and focused efforts on making Neeshka romance-able instead
>>313316839Romance definitely existed, but it was cut. But you get a lot of flirting and a heartwarming "I will never betray you" scene before the final bossfight. At least high-affection Neeshka canonically survives, so you can roleplay coming back home to finally breed her.
This is horrifying

>>313325569In my opinion, yes. It's good enough for Fallout 2 standards. If nothing else, the EPA is worth it.
>>313312592>>313310370Depends what you mean by 'good' romances? Well written? Lots of content? Simple/Complex?Kingmaker has some decent romances. Kallike /Kanerah are pretty great (Kanerah is anyway. Kallike doesn't get enough romantic content) and the Nyrissa romance is the longest by far, affecting the main plot hugely (I think its the only way to get the True Ending) and being pretty solid.Dragon Age: Origins is pretty great. Lots of character interactions and Morrigan's romance, in particular, can form quite organically even if you aren't aiming for it.Tales of Wuxia has some great romance quest chains, though others are very, very lacklustre. The new Baldur's Gate is shaping up very well for companion interactions, including romance. But really, I could probably name thirty+ CRPG's with some form of romance off the top of my head.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDc-b8lJ0yAAnd that's that. This was fun all the way through, the ending is one of my favorites too.

>>313423398Why not? Just spoiler sensitive (end-game) content. It'd have been better if you started posting it from the beginning, but more content is always welcomed. Alternatively, if you're going to play Expedition you can start with that instead.
>>313424406I'll just post Expedition, since that will be new for me too
>>313423398Yes please, post anything you want or find interesting.Still have UnderRail on my backlog, but quickly glancing at some screenshots is nice.
>>313424406>>313424986I'm gonna start a new character actually, psi got reworked recently and my build sucks now. I'll play Fallout 2 before that too.
>>313424645Sounds good! Posting frequency is up to you, whatever you feel comfortable. Personally, I like to share content whenever something interesting / funny / amusing / memeable happens. Doing general updates on the regular is also a way. Or spamming in Monkanon-style.
Any games like DOS2 but not tedious?

>>313429265>like DOS2>not tedious
>>313429745I like the companions, turn based combat based on AP, builds not restricted to class. But I cannot stand the clunkiness of it all. I hate hypermobility of enemies. I hate inventory management. I hate flipping boxes on pressure plates. Even the story, as generic "you are the chosen one" as it is doesn't irk me. I simply hate this game on mechanical level. It's like the devs wanted to show off "Hey, look, you can manipulate so much of your surroundings" but in the end it's all clutter.
>>313430769>companions>turn based combat based on AP>builds not restricted to classHaven't played a single game, outside of D:OS 1–2 that can potentially fill all these requirements.Shadowrun series and Wasteland 3, came to mind but I have yet to play them, maybe someone who has can further comment if they fit or not.Are you new to the genre, or did you just try D:OS II and know that's exactly what you like, and that's it?
>>313431773It's not that I'm only looking for the things I listed. Turn based or RTwP i usually don't care.Played Kingmaker and Underrail lately. Love Dragon Age: Origins. Played Neverwinter Nights a lot back in the day. But never once did I feel so annoyed at mechanics in any of these games. D:OS 2 looks nice on paper but actually playing it is exhausting. Maybe it was simply designed with 4 player coop in mind.
>>313432910>It's not that I'm only looking for the things I listedWell, that helps. If you're looking for good challenging TB combat above all, there's:• The Temple of Elemental Evil;• Knights of the Chalice;• Jagged Alliance 2.Considering your aversion to inventory management, I would stay clear of JA2.Looking for good RTWP with a serviceable story? There's Pillars of Eternity.Just good story above all else, there's Planescape: Torment & the Baldur's Gate saga, though old as they are, there is some obligatory inventory management, if you don't know what to pick up and what to leave.
>>313432910I always forget, even though I rate them highly, there's also Knights of the Old Republic, if you're into Star Wars, and looking for story>combat.
>>313433624>JA2>Planescape>Baldur's GatePlayed them all as a kid. But I think I will finally look into PoE. It was either it or D:OS2 and it seems I've chosen poorly. Thanks
>>313434282Larian gets far more praise than they deserve, and the shills that don't know any better, advertise it to no end as something it clearly is not … anything above average, at best.
Here we go. Will the same build work in the second game too? Criticals were great.

How good if fallout 1 and 2 compared to games like Underrail or wasteland 2 I've only played rpgs like BG, PoE etc. Would it be better to play the fallouts first or save em for after
>>313445476They have a unique atmosphere, but UI and combat kind of suck in comparison to newer RPGs. I liked the first Fallout more than Underrail, you should check out both to see what you like. I heard Wasteland 2 is not very good.
>>313448107Would you have any other reccs for newer RPGs? Ive seen ATOM rpg and Encased talked about a bit i may refund wasteland 2 and pick up one of them or both
>>313449013Underrail is the best one for sure. There's Age of Decadence but I haven't played it.
>>313443138The ultimate filter for FO 2 entry players, even now a days.>>313445476FO 1–2 far surpasses UnderRail and Wasteland 2, even by today's standard. The only aspect were they are subpar is the combat and inventory management, as they always have been.
>>313448107Now that I'm looking at it, is FO 1–2 actually the best looking ISO games of the late 90's with that resolution patch?Don't know if it's my nostalgia goggles, but not even BG 2 looks this good, right?

In your opinion what game(s) have the best combat for a crpg?
>>313457210RTwP or TB?
>>313457536Pillars of Eternity, without a doubt with Pathfinder: Kingmaker as #2.Baldur's Gate saga with SCS doesn't fall that much behind P:K but it lacks QoL stuff like, AoE markers and slow-mo if you enjoy that. Can't speak for NWN, as I've never played it.>>313457757This is far from the truth, there are clearly better systems than others if nothing else, superior in implementation.
>>313456965I wish there were more games with sarcastic/cynical sense of humour like old Fallouts instead of lolsorandum borderlands reddit style that sells nowadays, I don't think I'll ever play Wasteland 3 because of that
>>313459491Different times, different audiences. These games weren't made for kids, as in early teens. The target audience was more mature and, even if it wasn't, feel like that maturing age as changed anyways and it tends to drag out.Not to sound like you need an adult brain to appreciate the humor, it's just different and the culture era which FO 2 borrows from is long gone.
>Baldur's Gate>head to first inn>there's a random ring out in the bushes nearby that doubles my number of first level spellsUh,ok? Is there more stuff like this around?
>>313461262Can't remember that specific ring, but "hidden" stuff in bushes/rocks? Yeah, there is.OG version didn't have a key bind to highlight containers, so you figured these out through talks and references.
so, i started playing underrail. first character i stopped playing before i reached depot, decided i should do pure psi on second character. i stopped playing with that character after depot. it runs out of psi reserves on more difficult encounters. so i'm deciding to go for a third, tough heavily armored dude with guns and no psi. should that be okay?
>>313462143Maybe this >>313423398 Anon can help you out, have yet to play UnderRail.
I'm in what I assume is one of the last areas in Pathfinder: Kingmaker and I encountered a gamebreaking bug. There are supposed to be events with my companions but none of them spawn in. I completed all of their personal quests, all the side content, etc. My quest log was nothing but green checkmarks from top to bottom and I get nothing. People online have suggested rolling back a save before I went through the portal but that hasn't done anything for me. Same bug every time no matter how far back I go. Am I completely fucked?
>>3134612623 that I can think of, apart from the ring you found there's a pile of dirt in the west area of nashkel with the best armour in the game, and another ring in the second area you go to (below friendly arm, with the big pillar that tells you directions)
>>313464098How many roll backs have you tried and are they before you specifically enter HatET?Had a similar issue, and it took me two loads before even entering the portal to fix it.
>>313464825Quite a few. Also, sorry for the shit formatting it has been a while. I hard saved right before the portal and have tried reloading that save a number of times. When that didn't work I went further back and completely re-did the fey trials quest from the beginning. Hard saved before the portal again after that and same thing, no companions on the first floor.
>>313465079Are they just not present at all? The inside is completely empty? My issue was, they were being killed.
>>313462143Most players steal builds from forums, look into that if you're having trouble. Pure psi kinda stopped being viable after it got reworked, now there's a limit of abilities you can have equipped at the same time. Psi reserves are one of the problems crafting solves completely, and even then eventually you get more money than you could ever spend. Heavily armoured gun dude can get boring, and shields are better than armour anyway (they stop damage completely instead of reducing it). You really should invest in crafting. Stealth is amazing in this game, you can avoid hard fights and a lot of quests reward you for using it. Remember, you don't level up by killing stuff. You get exp from sorting through trash. Depot A mutants only give you 2 or 3 exp max, you can skip them completely. If you want to level up quickly, tunnels below GMS compound have tons of loot and easy enemies. And make sure to plan out your build first, Underrail isn't a game that allows you to improvise much.
>>313465495Yeah. The first floor is completely empty save for some enemies. I checked youtube for what is supposed to happen and the rooms that are supposed to contain the companion cutscenes are completely empty.
>>313465645That's odd, no idea what might cause that.Is the game version up to date?
>>313465620Also I can't stress enough how OP crafting is, you can easily become immortal by walking around with 4 types of armour in your inventory for all damage types and just switching them up according to situation.
>>313465801Yeah, latest legitimate version updated through steam. No mods or anything installed. I checked around various places and it's a really old bug that supposedly was fixed. Super annoying but whatever, I'll probably start over with some class mods or something until the Wrath of the Righteous beta goes live.
>>313466061As annoying as it is, there's always the option to recruit mercenaries.Sorry man, no idea how to help out on this one.
>>313465620by psi reserves, i meant psi reserves. not the inhalers. but psi is trash anyway it seems. Stealth would be boring for me desu.
>>313465879ye, i'll make sure to invest in those skills. is the merchant skill a must or nah?
>>313467018Psi abilities are still great, you just run out of mana quickly. You should always stock up on psi-boosters (which again, crafting takes care of). You could try a hybrid build, psi empaths get some really cool interactions in tons of quests, thought control especially.>>313467446Mercantile is trash in every rpg ever, and here money is very easy to get. Just collect all the trash you come across and sell it. Merchants mainly buy crafting components.
Wonder if Monk Anon is alright....How long as it been now, 2 days?
>>313470175i read that some merchants carry special stock at certain merchant levels. just wondering if that stock is anything special
>>313443138I mean, you just attack ants with spear, run away, attack, etc. until they die. Take no damage.
>>313478653Wishful thinking of zoom zoom brains, to critically perceive the problem and work on a solution, without the game telling them.Unironically the great filter of FO 2.
>>313474785it is do not listen to that dumb goy mercantile is BASED
>>313474785It's important if you plan on crafting.
>>313455857Got to admit, that animation does look quite exceptional.
when is monk anon making a sorcerer guide?
>>313474785Mercentile does affect both prices and what characters have available. There are some thresholds like 55 skill and 80 skill for one merchant. If I remember correctly, it's not how much points you put in, but the effective skill level, i.e. with Will bonus and any item bonuses added in.
>>313456289What does this perk even DO?
Redpill me on Underrail. Is it a fun RPG? How is the story? Will a storyfag like me enjoy it?
>>313478653>>313479151It's not about taking damage, it's about the 10% hit chance. That area took me like half an hour to finish.>>313497968According to wiki, unlocks all "sex options". What that means remains to be seen.>>313502186It's definitely more story-focused than I thought it'd be, though the story picks up only after Depot A. At the beginning you just do a couple of tasks that establish the lore, which is pretty damn fun. Lots of reactivity for different types of characters too. I heard Expedition is even better in that regard. Just make sure you don't fuck up your build.
After getting the pipe rifle it's been pretty easy so far. Enemies are way weaker than in 1, miniature radscorpions are a joke. Though the kids are way more annoying.
>>313508083You have them disabled?
Another day, another title card for /crpgg/.Today we have the controversial Deadfire, let's try to be objective.Help us rate it, if and how you played it (24H polling):Content / Writing / Combatxx/10Leave a ambiguous pseudonym.
>>3135217891/1/1 haven't played it.dark heart (bad ass)
>>313521259No, but with my computer they're running at the speed of light so it's hard to get a screenshot
Every time they do this little animation an item disappears from my inventoryConsidering doing a child killer run
>>3135217897.5/6/8.Content main quest and most sidequest would barely reach 6, but all the DLC adds some actual nice questlines and combat encounters. Writing is a downgrade from first pillas, attempts to get you invested or actually make main quest and everything else happening somewhat interconnected fails utterly and half the characters barely get interesting characterization/interactions. Combat is salvaged a bit by all the extra subclass and skills (even though they did a sidegrade from pillars 1). I am still a bit generous with the 5 party limit, everything being per encounter and most of the interesting combat encounters being dlc, on top of the turn based mode not working, but even if it required dlc,, I was challenged at times and if I ever replayed the game, it would be for the sake of trying new builds.Mea Culpa.
>>313521789Content 5/10 (there is a decent amount of stuff, but most of it is uninspired and boring)Writing 4/10 (I swear Obsidian stopped giving a fuck about the story halfway through)Combat 8/10 (I guess it's the only part of the game that works and that's where Josh's heart really was)Played it for 40 hours.NeverForgetYdwin.

>>313524059I think in my case by the 40 hour mark I had seen most of the content the game has to offer (not 100% the game mind you, just enough to make up my mind about it) and I'd beaten the main quest. They I realized that this shit is not getting any better and simply stopped playing.
>>313326063One thing I appreciate about EPA is Killap going out of his way to add a useful recruitable female companion into the game, because he accurately noticed that aside from Mira, who is useless, FO2 companion roster is a motherfucking sausagefest.
>>313521789Neat, in the middle of replaying it.Content: 7/10, The first DLC is actually pretty good, though SSS puts me to sleep. Haven't done the third yet.Writing: 4/10. Faction plots are overdone, and when you need a patch to address the main story, you're too far gone.Combat: 6.5/10. Sidegrade at best. Fails to realize what made Pillars 1 combat enjoyable at worst. t. Shovel Dog.Probably gonna update my content when I finish the 3rd dlc. All I know about it is that archmages are involved, and I like them.

I have a question for BG3 players, larian said that they were taking heavy inspiration from underrails mechanics for the game any truth to that?
>>313549461How would that even be possible? I'm not familiar with UnderRail mechanics, but it's a completely different system.
>>313549461Actually impossible, what did they say exactly?
>>313550970>>313550970In an interview they mentioned that they were really amazed on how good underrail played and wanted the combat and turn mechanics for their game. This was circa 2018-2019ishGuess that was a lie.
>>313551523It's not going to happen – not with BG3 – they can't overwhelmingly deviate from 5E.Maybe they're considering it, for w/e turd they're going to shit out next.
>>313551523If they don't include an option to speed up animations, they're a lost cause for me
Speaking of UnderRail, is there a discernible logomark of the game?Something in game perhaps?
>>313549461How would you even describe underrails combat mechanics? By the AP mechanics? By the damage mechanics?I honestly don't remember if underrail did anything unique outside the crafting system and that wasn't THAT unique.

>>313582519If PoE1 gets a 6.5 in writing, Deadfire has to be a 3 tops.I think both deserve higher than that, but I don't really care enough to dispute it. As long as they're accurate relative to each other. I'd give them an 8 and 4 respectively, if you're still taking input.I don't remember the other scores, I haven't been saving these, so hopefully these line up.Combat is an improvement in many ways, but held back by a few strange decisions. A lot of the weird inconsistencies from the first game made in the name of balance were ironed out and made more transparent, the AI is smarter and more customizable, multi-classing was a huge leap forward that works really well all around, but then empowerment is a dumb gimmick, skill management is basically pointless now that it's per-encounter, and the whole system of resting/wounds/the rare per-rest abilities is entirely trivialized. Overall 8.5/10, better than the first, if only just.Content is another mixed bag, but mostly far worse. There's a lot more numerous and varied encounters in the world, and a few are really fun and well designed dungeons, but most are completely forgettable filler scenes. Also the trainwreck that is naval combat should probably be included here since it's the majority of your overworld interactions. 5/10If you're including the DLC (and megabosses), it would probably bring everything up a full point. They're a lot of fun and all around much better than the base game.Tibbens 163 hours, wanted to see everything then never touch it again
>>313596072PoE 1 was approached in a very different manner, scoring wise. This 24H polling stuff, started with FO NV, 2 days ago.Been flying off the handle, trying new stuff but so far, I enjoy this new system and it looks to be receptive – thus far – and would like to go back to all the previous titles, eventually, if people enjoy the system.Despite this, with the ratings so far, Deadfire is not exactly off writing wise, from your gauge. It's currently sitting at 4.25 with your input.Need to think of a way to rephrase the:>Help us rate it, if and how you played itAdded the "how" to imply DLCs/expansions, and I don't know if that triggered the hourly count from everyone or if it was the "if".Not exactly a problem, but Anons are already helping willingly, wouldn't want to burden them with digging up playtime when it's not being used.

Is there a fucking game that doesnt use D&D combat style?I´m tired of this overused meme, D&D as a vidya system is B O R I N G. Furthermore, it´s annoying and completely pointless. If you make it turnbased, it´s limited by actions. If you make it real time, pause every second to design a new target or cast anything. But casters are also limited by an amount of spells/day.Shit i miss Fallout 1&2, Vampire and the likes so much. The latest BG3 was fun if you removed combat or mod it to become DoS:II in 4k and cringy dialogues. Which it´s literally what it has.

Divinity is impressive just for the amount of non-answers you can generate by asking literally anything about it
>Playing Divinity>I'm undead>Veiled so my undead nature is hidden>Combat starts>Enemies immediately cast healing spells on me, which do damage because i'm undeadHow does every one of these pricks suddenly know i'm a skeleton

>>313650162Had the same problem, forced myself to finish act 2, wasn't worth it. Once you do the voidwoken cave, content really drops in quality. Act 3 made me drop it.
>>313646139I like the whole cast, I just wish they'd focus on fleshing them out as companions instead of origin characters. Premise of the story kinda breaks apart when you make a custom character too. It's an RPG, who'd even want to play as someone else?

>>313656276Oh shit, it's evolving, I see even more now.
In D:OS 2 should I focus on one type of damage (physical/magical) or try to go 50/50? I've read a little about it and it seems that it all boils down to popping enemy armor or magic armor as fast as you can so focus on one type of damage sounds optimal.
>>313658235Focus on one if you're looking for efficiency and a easier time with combat50/50 if you're looking for RP purposes.
>>313658235I'm playing the game for the first time now and went 50/50There's enemies that have really high magic armour and abilities to restore it, so for them you need to use physical to take them down quickly, and others do the same for physicalIt's possible i'm just shit at this game though and going 100% magic is a viable option
Almost missed this guy, old games sure love pixel hunting

D:OS 2 questionHow stupid of an idea is to make a dedicated support character? Let's say I have a tank, rogue and ranger already so physical damage focused party. I want to make Lohse dedicated support, you know - hydro for healing, aero for teleporting around, pyro for haste, geo for fortify etc. Is it a good idea?

Jamandi really is a stupid bitch of a character and its really revealed if you choose not to immediately reinforce her position when she engages the barbarians.>help us! we've engaged the tiger lords main army>what the fuck, I have portals to another world opening in my barony spewing out monsters, likely caused by what is seemingly a traitor, and have to deal with this so MY kingdom doesn't get overrun>she overcommits while you're dealing with your shit and gets absolutely slapped by armags forces>has the balls to say its your fault, despite the fact you were just ensuring that you weren't going to come down to a burnt down capital while you were away helping her swordlords not even once
>>313758284Its even funnier when you realize that she didn't really give a shit about Maegar Varn and all of his people literally disappearing into thin air, and didn't spare a single person to help investigate. Varn even tells you he called her out on it and also that she had a fit about the fact that he handed his lands over to you as a way to pay his blood debt.Jamandi is a cunt if you actually pay attention to the story.
>>313758284>>313758591Is it really Jumanji's fault though? As much as I enjoyed the game, what got me hooked was the political intrigue opening plot and we know where that leads … nowhere. Not sure how the tabletop OC develops, but can you blame them for a faulty abandoned piece of narrative?

>>313759284not knowing the baron had his own shit to deal with, I can excuse, that was probably a misstep on the devs part.its literally written in the story though that she didn't give a shit about varn and his people vanishing and couldn't be "bothered" to waste any effort on them, which is why varn says he chewed her out and left her "fuming" back in restov, and that he couldn't give a shit less about her anymore after seeing how she really is.
>>313758284Literally ALL jumanji cares about is making the sword lords #1 again, if they even ever were (they got fucking thrashed by pathfinders alexander the great) and it becomes especially evident in varnhold vanishing.
>>313759903Bruh, they were getting rekt by hordes of bandits years before choral even came along, the swordlords were sad. choral just put the nail in their coffins when the group that refused to surrender got obliterated by two red dragons under his command.

>>313779056Auto is a bad idea b/c of Artisans (and their uniques) alone, not to mention you'd miss all Throne Room and Rank-Up events. Teleports and Aviaries can be unlocked mid-game, and that point you can reach the Kingdom Management interface practically from anywhere. Also, don't forget PK's internal logic: MQ is always the top priority, followed by Companion and Artisan quests, then you can spend the rest of your time doing side quests / errands and exploration. Ofc whenever something seems urgent (read the Journal!), do that ASAP.

This game is draining my will to liveI'm in act 3 and every fight has some kind of bullshit gimmick that forces to me to play like the biggest tryhard possible at all times in order to winI wanted to have fun and try different magic spells and stuff in this game, but that just can't be done
>party attack 4 vs 5>party attack 4 vs 7>party attack 5 vs 7>enemy attack 18 vs 17 + poison>enemy attack 20 vs 18 + critical>party attack 8 vs 9Most of my kingmaker fights have looked like this so far. Not saying it is rigged (and why would it in singleplayer RPG) but YIKES it is trying my patience.

>>313851882How are you not overleveled already?
>>313853434I don't know i'm probably just stupid, I did every side quest I came across thoughAnd it's more a problem with patience than real difficulty, like those enemies that respawn if there is any fire in the area, and they can create cursed fire so you need to do a 2 step process to douse every patch of itSo much shit like that that's just annoying to deal with and takes forever
>>313852609PFKM's RNG is perfect. Some guy wrote a dice mod and did a billion (!) rolls, and the result proved it was indeed random. What you're experiencing is Owlcat's bloated stats even for trash-tier enemies. That's why buffs matter so much and also serve as a natural a pleb-filter.
>>313860425I have 200 hours in PFKM and unironically feel the same as these reviewers. It's shite watching even the most trashiest of mooks consistently save against my spells and the vast majority of fights are just buff and auto attack.
>>313861809Probably because you so got used to linear scaling that anything else feels abnormal. Like people who watch movies because of the story and feel dissatisfied if it doesn't go from A to B with a definite conclusion at the end.In PFKM the floor of the enemies is high but their ceiling is usually normal, which means you have to reach a certain threshold to be able to hurt them, but once you did it you can continue to hurt them in a reliable manner.
>>313846513No preference, played both and like both
>>313862713Yeah, people who don't like Kingmaker are all capeshit watching dribblers while the Kingmaker enjoying euridites such as you and I appreciate experimental and avant-garde kino and as such we love our buffed up owlbears.

>>313868270Anon … they don't have eyes.
>>313868690Sorry, I meant ((((eyes?))))I'm about to finish the quest to ally Redding with one of the 3 towns, leaning towards New Reno. Seems like NCR is just going to repeat history and Vault City is a nazi Germany reenactment. What do you think?
>>313869409Moral ambiguities aside, considering all the 3 options are working to further their own goals at all costs, NCR would probably be the lesser evil.Vault City outright sucks everything dry, with no regards of consequences, with Lynette in power.New Reno would (((infiltrate))), through the wide spread of degeneracy and drugs, until all financial gain is extorted from it.NCR, can't remember, don't expect them to overwhelmingly help but they would at least provide further protection, in order to move troops further closer to Vault City.To be honest, don't even remember this quest at all.

>>313888213I prebuffed the shit out of Valarie, but she barely connects. I'll try the grease spell thing.>>313887860Thanks fren
>>313887361Of course you can. It's an atypical, Tank vs a Paladin fight - two defensive chars who can take the beating but have limited offence, so it will naturally be a slog. The #1 priority is to survive until Fredero runs out of Sunder Armor and Lay On Hands, concentrate on this.True Strike is needed to be able to reliably hit him, Greater Invisibility (maybe Blur) is great to force Misses and to be able to safely heal yourself, Enlarge Person is a double-edged sword but good as an end-fight DMG boost. Also, don't forget about "per rest" items too!
When will it end...?Every time I work on a single one, remember 5 more that need to be done.

Dumb nitpick but shame pathfinder: kingmaker didn't do anything science fantasy with numeria being nearby and all. >>314077661It doesn't have anything to do with BG except for the setting. Also it's not a bad game, people just have ridiculous standards or just don't like Larian's standard game model
>>314066461Wokesters seems to be satisfied with it. Must be the fluid animations, impeccable writing and utmost faithfulness towards the traditions of the franchise!
>>314081547Man. You're really trying to push this retarded narrative here, aren't you. No one fucking cares about this. So you can create a nontraditional gender character. Who cares.
>>314081547For all I care, wacky, trans, gay, nigger, chink, gender fluid, fat or an amalgamation of all in character creation is the least of my worries. What worries me is NPCs interacting with a clearly male face fat body with chink eyes, nigger skin, female bimbo level breast and lips with a fully erect futa horse cock and finding it perfectly normal.
>>314081315The latter for me. Good for dicking around with friends, not good for an immersive RPG. Their writing team is also the worst in the genre.
>>314089458Why? The problem isn't in character creation, it's in the lack of feedback in the game from your choices.Just like real life, the problem isn't on adults doing w/e they want with themselves, it's you and everyone else being forced to not share any opinions that are not positive.

>>314096273>>314096507And to further expand, you know exactly why they cannot do it! Welp. I'm going back to playing Exanima and making videos about it. The combat system is fucking revolutionary.
>>314119078Not exactly sold on the combat, not my fancy but, what about everything else – as in – narrative, quests, exploration?Looks to have potential, considering its dim setting that I enjoy, but all I see is combat upon combat.
>>314122918Exanima is a dungeon crawler through and through. Just like Icewind Dale there isn't much of a story. It's mostly combat. You have to like the combat, otherwise, you're not going to enjoy the game all that much. However, the exploration is very good. The game takes place underground, you encounter lots of weird creatures. So far, I've seen undead zombies and skeletons. But there's more scary stuff underground. The designer has a art station, you can see some of the monster designs there, spoilers though: https://www.artstation.com/zetherosThe armor designs are neat as well. >>314154114Played around with both and found Sorcerer a lot more fun overall personally. It does take a while to come online though, as you stated, and you do need to use the x per day Rods but eventually you can't even hold all your spells. While with Kineticist, ended up using just 2–3.
>>314154584Up to the point where I stopped I could do AoE damage sure yeah epic, but other than that I either just spammed buffs and skipped turn/used a 3 damage cantrip or used a spell slot to do 3 times less damage than my knifemasterWhat did you like about sorcerer so much?

Simple remarks on character creation choices, the weapon you're using, the armor you have and the countless possible combinations is a very easy and simple, easy and cheap way to create immersion and make the game feel more alive.

It's a different game but it's there. If there's any criticism to be had it would probably be the ambiguity of some of the dialog tree alignment choices, but isn't life exactly like this? It isn't all black and white. >>314250173This argument is such a joke. I seriously question any ones intellect if they truly try to push this agenda as valid. The most praised, critically acclaimed, and well known game in the whole genre, for being a masterpiece, literally has more reading than gameplay.Word count is obviously not a metric of good writing but, at the same time, it is not a metric of bad writing. Some of best fantasy books ever written are huge for a reason, well written descriptions of anything adds to the work, not retract from it.Obviously video games are not books, and you solely do not rely on imagination like the former, but until you can actually really show what you want expressed accurately, putting it in good quality writing is the far superior choice.>>314250931No.
>>314251554And on that note. What the fuck is a crpg then.
>>314254109Is it story time, already?Do you truly want to know, the story of my name?
>>314234825This isn't true at all. He hasn't even made it past the first few hours of most of the games here. He talks about getting filtered in every game. He just talks about which girl he wants to fuck in each of the games, which isn't actually meaningful contribution. Look at right now, what he's actually contributed. It's nothing.>>314233356His freak outs about american politics where he screeches and calls people fat and stupid suggest what he's actually like when the facade falls. Spamming the same "I love you!" over and over again is just words. He gets banned all the time because he can't keep his mouth shut with his extremely biased politics. I'm not even american and I can tell he's a living stereotype of the american retards who just take one side and believe the world will explode if the other side gets their way, which is stupid.I've been here for years and once I realized this I realized he's just a troll, intentionally or not.

>>314254796Interesting, Anon. Thank you for the read!I'll get back to you after the fact.
>>314254858Based. Basically the opposite. I've never seen him make an off topic post, I've never seen him get mad and fly off the handle calling people names like an asshole, he posts himself playing games constantly and his screenshots let you follow along, he has screenshots of himself beating games on hard difficulties and even makes videos instead of getting filtered on the first level, and he's even compiling stuff into his own website. He does everything the opposite. He contributes in many ways and I've never seen him act like an asshole. It's crazy that they're "friends" since they're basically opposites.

Amazing. This blog is beautiful.
>>314255618Give me 10 10 10 wifes anon! I am wife scholar! I am!
I think this is true. I wrote a couple of guides me self. And when I wrote my guides, I always go back and see what I can cut out or revise in order to make it look good. It's one thing to write a bunch of stuff. It's another to actually go back and edit the junk out.
Ya know, it's interesting hearing this kind of thing from a developer. Really makes you think. Really gets the brain going.
Well that was a good read. I had fun reading this. I thought it was going to be boring stuff. But the writer actually made it entertaining enough to read through. >>314254796Thanks for sharing this with us.
>>314255587Disco Elysium, a game purposely worked with a vision to be as less verbose as possible, adopting Twitters format as a sort of restriction, towers at one million words.>>314256140>>314256394>>314256737>>314256953He talks big, and I just actually realized who it is, have yet to read the whole thing but the best he has produced Geneforge, doesn't even come close to average.Granted, I have not played it, and the issues might be elsewhere apart from writing, but like he says, talking is easy. For all metrics, he's a successful business owner, but yeah….
>>314257752To be honest with you. I don't really care about writing all that much. I mainly care about gameplay and combat. Chalice 2 - Augury of Chaos, didn't really have much of a plot going for itsel. Save for, "Go chase down Yanos. He's going to implode the universe. Which is bad." But that game enthralled me for over two hundred hours based on its combat.
>>314258149That's a perfectly fine stance to take, weird in the genre but w/e, and I understand big word counts might scare burgers but, like Sawyer himself says:>the use of prose to convey meaningful action and details that are not visible to the player’s eye;>and giving the player a range of responses that seems appropriate to the moment,>builds off of the player’s choices, and leads to entertaining outcomes. If the writing is good or not, is one thing. Complaining about word count alone is another.Jeff talks big but he's in a medium where pretty much his writing alone could propel him to #1 and, to this day, he has yet to produce.I'll refrain from further comments, lest I embarrass myself, considering I have yet to read it all.
>>314258149Thank you Monk anon! Bestest friend forever anon! You are strong battle bestest friend forever anon! You are!

>>314263226Like for example, to expound upon what I said. Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a huge game. It was made by Owlcat Games, a rather small company. There were a lot of issues with the game, that a first playthrough of it, you would have caught those issues and addressed them.

>>314263598Why are you used goods anon?>>314263798Well, here's to hoping Wrath is good. They made a bunch of posts saying they've learned from their mistakes, and are working towards improvement. Hopefully, that means less issues. I know a bunch of people who were burned by Kingmaker on release.

>>314254109A role-playing video game (commonly referred to as simply a role-playing game or an RPG as well as a computer role-playing game or a CRPG) is a video game genre where the player controls the actions of a character (and/or several party members) immersed in some well-defined world. Subgenres include Action RPGs, First-person party-based RPGs aka "Blobbers", MMORPGs, Roguelikes and roguelike-likes, Sandbox RPGs, Tactical RPGs, and many hybrids between those categories.
>>314273712Fuck it, it IS story time. You're WRONG!Once upon a time I had no name, even though my practices were far and wide; from little kids playing with each other, to adults playing someone else in the bedroom. Two nerds, with little to no experience either on the playground or the bedchamber, decided to perpetuate this very lack of social skills for all eternity. They made a game for themselves, to experience through imagination, everything they missed out on their childhood and the grownup sex life.D&D their creation was called, and very popular it became. Turns out there wasn't just two nerds in the world but millions, and they all wanted a game for themselves. But what was it, you may ask, what new wide-spread game was this and what was it made for? And so I was named … Role Playing Game, for all to see and understand the D&D.An orphan I was, named and abandoned by the very people that despise me but adoption was swift, fast and multiple. From basement to basement I traveled, never enough as a single entity to satiate the dwellers hunger. Discarded once again and thrown out, they made their own bastard names out of mine. Pen and Paper Role Playing Games, Tabletop Role Playing Games, Traditional Role Playing Games … and so I was forgotten.
>>314273712In the year 1981 the first great war began. The synthetic computer had two creations of its own, and so my name was called forth again, Ultima and Wizardry were its births. The natural nerds, enraged about such events, rised from their dungeon basement dwellings and sought conflict with the synthetics for what they considered their birthright. War, war never changes … the end of my name occurred pretty much as anyone predicted. Too many claims, not enough names to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons as always, purely human ones.Wiped clean of life, the synthetics sought to rebirth my title. Believing in their ultimate success, arrogance took place and the goal, yet another bastard, Computer Role Playing Game. What other choice did I have? Oblivion or the illegitimate claim….Adulterated as it was, I grew exponentially. The golden age, they called it and all around the world, my name was heard, praised and respected. Limitless potential for a sustained, well nurtered growth, the future was very bright if not for change.>>314273989
>>314273712And what can change the nature of a name? A pure evil force, unholy in it's power and swiftness. Only action it sought by any means, the devil itself. War it chased and so my nature was changed, the greatest age this scoundrel life as ever seen came to a close. The archfiend took its toll, my soul devoured. Now aged, elderly, something of a bygone era I rested; my gravestone named, Classic Role Playing Game. Many came to visit, some to pay respects, some to desecrate and some to mourn. Many called for my name, never to be answered once again, until one fateful day.>>314274162
>>314273712That day is closer than you remember, called forth by the great drunk himself, the victim of the unfair public court and his side-kicks, the autist and the banker; I rose once more, ready to be heard but what use does an old rag have, besides knowledge? And so, brought back I was, not only to my golden age title but with all the learning I've once gathered. And here I stand to claim enough, of this evil! The archfiend will face it's death — I'm the one who will sentence it. From a name of a crumbling empire, a name I steal … curse you devil, blinded by your faded power, your unholyness will be taken. Curse you, wretch, thriving in your blind action, your swiftness will be claimed. It is not only my will … but a force greater than my own, the power of the synthetics and the inebriated himself, will keep you at bay! CRPG is my name now, BOTH Computer and Classic Role Playing Game but never again either, lest the unholy consume our souls once more.I am the CRPG.>>314274309
