piece of shit
>>651328847>>651328893>>651328939are you all the same person really butt hurt or something?
i'm the third IP in this thread.
>>651328359It's going to come in handy from time to time, best to get the most storage.
At this point just wait for steam deck 2, at the very least it'll have a better display and battery life.
>>651329268i plan to upgrade its storage to a 2TB SSD anyway
>>651328359it's like a switch but not gay
>>651329139lol, you mean second?
hmm ok so i just finished reading the thread and it sounds like the deck didn't do very well huh? maybe next time it won't be as 'shitted' and 'flopped' as you are all saying
Sirs do not buy the deck
I mean if you got the money and like playing handheld, than why the fuck not? But also consider the asrock one I heard it's better
>>651329590if i get one it will be on Thursday
>>651328359
Its pretty neat. I killed an invader in Dark Souls while on the shitter earlier.
>>651329325be careful while opening it, the back screws strip easily.
>>651328359I have fun with my Deck.
Any new game will stutter and look like shitIn a year, new games will be literally unplayable.Get it only if you exclusively play indies.
>>651329947ill be carful and make sure to use the right size bit
>>651330028Factorio sounds annoying to play with a controller.
>>651328359don't buy one if you like immersion
>>651328359>talk sense into meYou're on /v/, that means you hate video games, so don't do it.
>>651328359It's so cheap I don't know why you would be struggling to pull the trigger if you actually want it. If you're into emulating everything prior to ps3, old AAA and modern indies then obviously it's worth it. If you want to play AAA after 2022 or you can't imagine a usecase then don't get it.
>>651330276did you happen to miss the track pads?
>>651330379im just not sure how well the track pads take to FPS games
>>651328359it's nearly useless if you have a decent PC and don't travel too much. I bought one, enjoyed some replays, and stashed it for months until I got to pick up utawarerumono just recently, it's crazy comfy on a portable. You don't need it. Then again, it's dirt cheap for what it is and once you go for any longer trip, you'll surely appreciate the thing. All of your PC vidya, always with you, and controls (especially custom-bindable touchpads) are amazing. Guess it's just a question of whether you have enough free money to waste it on a gimmick or not. It's a good gimmick.
>>651330632>cozy up in bed with deck for maximum comfy gaming in warmth>play deck outside in shade in summerYou can still play it if you don't travel.
>>651330121Playing BG3 at 45fps, can emulate everything out there, it's good for a lot more than indies
>>651330441If all you play is fps on mkb and you think trackpads is an acceptable replacement I would skip it. Trackpads feel like shit with anything other than emulating a mouse pointer, Mkb only gamers are also weird and complain about everything being unoptimal.
>>651328359It depends. If you want a handheld, it's by far the best handheld on the market right now. If all you want is a PC and you don't care about portability, you can build a much faster desktop for roughly the same amount of money.
>>651328359I like my deck, I just made the mistake of buying it one fucking week before it went on sale. The sticks are good, the trackpads work nicely, the dpad needs a little wear in. But I'm glad I bought it, so I can play my games while on vacation.
>>651332456Contact support and tell them you bought the device right before a sale. They usually send you a partial refund on the Steam Wallet.
>>651332346>you can build a much faster desktop for roughly the same amount of moneyCan you? You can get a deck with a good amount of storage for under $400 at this point if you buy on sale and swap the ssd out. Even the cheapest gpu is over half that. Crypto fucked pc building right up when nvidia and amd realized people will buy their shit for absurd prices.
>>651333048Yes. You can get a new RX 580 (there are some still around) for less than $100 these days. This card is ~2.5 times faster than a Steam Deck.On the used market, you can find a 5700XT (~1.8x compared to a RX 580, so ~4.5x compared to a Steam Deck) for around $150. It depends on the region though. Maybe in, let's say, Europe is hard to build a decent €350 PC. But for €500 or so, you can definitely get something significantly faster than a Steam Deck. Multiple times faster, not +30%.
>>651332725Oh really? I might try that, thanks.
