I'll post some of the screenshots and notes from the trailer that I've taken.

In the opening we see a girl find the player character seemingly unconscious. She's riding "our" mount. It appears to be the first time we meet her, so we probably weren't giving her a ride, and it's she who provides the player character with the steed.

This seems to be a different location. We can see a few soldiers stationed along some fortifications on the way to a huge caldera in the background. There seem to be steam or smoke rising from the caldera. The Erdtree is not seen in this shot, but there are some banners around which seem to depict it. There's also another tall ghostly banner(?) on the right.

Cut to a different area, which we'll call "temple of the golden order" for now. In the center we can see the same image as the Elden Ring logo. Well, not exactly the same. This one has wavy lines radiating down from the "elden ring" on it, which the game logo is missing.
Under it there's a sculpture of a person (woman?) surrounded by three canines. You just know.
The pillars around the area seem to have some bones, like ribcages, embedded into them.
Wyvern like creatures are seen flying around, as the pieces of the destroyed buildings are floating through the air.

Random observations
>trailer spoils like a dozen (minor?) bosses, either they showed too much or the game must be packed with hundreds of them
>a lot of the trailer content/fights seems to take place around that glowing yellow tree open hub area(?), hopefully it's just an early area
>combat style seems to vary between classic souls, bloodborne and sekiro / will you have to choose a style or will you be able to switch, have to chose a skill tree etc?
>was to be expect but a lot of content does seem like rehashed souls - bonfire, multiplayer phantoms, gothic cathedral/church/castle/graveyard/catacombs/giant trees/ruins/crooked towers etc, waifu in black, dragons, bringing back bosses with different phases

Yeah I don't know how they'll structure this, the free roaming foes has me a bit worried because meticulous 'on rail' enemy placement was an integral part of what made souls design so good. Open world seems so antithetical to souls design to me, which is what has me very worried but also want to see how they'll approach it, how to railroad the player towards locations, enemies or objectives. They've shown the caravan can be approached via stealth, a horseback duel, there are various soldiers around... But it's not attacking you first. In all the other souls games, enemies are always the aggressive ones. So why attack it? I can assume perhaps you are given more traditional side quests by npcs, or does it carry a key or a treasure that's maybe necessary to advance in the main quests? This kind of stuff will completely change the core design, they will create a new formula from scratch and have to experiment, some of it will be failures... The combat animation may scream ds4 but I think we're in for a lot of surprises.

Seems like "grace" will be either the souls/echoes equivalent or the humanity/insight equivalent in this game, going off the way they mention it in picrelated. I'm hoping the interconnectedness of the underground tombs and whatnot will bring to life what they tried to do with the chalices in bloodborne and make the world feel truly interconnected and not just a fast travel collectathon.

Since demons souls I've always thought killing dragons in from games was lacking.
Plinking at them with arrows, killing them in a cutscene, fighting them in a small arena where they're grounded for most of the time and you just roll around swinging at their heels.

To me a proper battle with a dragon takes place over a huge area.
Now that you have a horse that can double jump I hope they can deliver something like that.

Or, judging by the burn marks on the walls, maybe the castle was under attack by the dragons, and the boss just utilizes one of the dragon bodies lying around to graft another bioweapon onto his arm.

I'm not sure those the limbs have grown out of him - We see a man who looks very similar (Might even be the same guy at earlier point in time) who more or less seems to "wear" a cut-off arm on top of his own arm like a sleeve.

Couple that with the golden knight who puts herself together, I suspect a running theme in ER is that some people can more or less frankenstein their own bodies into chimerea-esque creatures. And how do you figure this isn't the case anymore? I'm specifically apprehensive about the trailer because of having played and having been disappointed by 2 and 3. I find the blind fromdrones to be an annoyance instead. Even Dark Souls 1's takes a nosedive after Ornstein and Smough and there's no reason to defend these games as if they were perfect pinnacles of gaming. All of them have many faults and many good aspects about them. Calling this a new IP and basically fixing up Dark Souls 3's original vision is a slap in the face of the fanbase in my opinion. I don't have a problem with Sekiro or Bloodborne because they obviously distanced themselves from the Dark Souls series enough by changing up key aspects of the formula. The worst part about this reveal was them literally re-using the Dark Souls style and Lords/Champion/lowlife(tarnished in this iteration) as a story outline again. With everything else they've shown I really have to ask myself why Miyazaki was fed up with doing the souls series in the first place. It looks like a melting pot of Souls (3 in particular), Sekiro and Bloodborne so far and the open world doesn't do my reservations any favor either. Well, we saw in the cinematic trailer a guy forging the elden ring and his arm cracking and falling off as he did so. And we see the red head lady has a prosthetic arm. So my guess is that the power of the elden ring is sort of like the infinity stones from marvel or whatever, where the power overload is so great you almost need to have multiple arms to be able to actually hold onto it and absorb it, otherwise you will either die or be badly damaged by the effects of it. Berserk would make for a shit RPG, Guts doesn't fit the mold in terms of mechanics, he's not constantly growing in strength. Realistically-speaking he peaks around the Eclipse, it's only the Dragonslayer being covered in demon juices and the Berserk armor that allow him to compete, and even then he's more of a mellow old man by the time the manga ended. Berserk's AESTHETICS are easy to homage and reference, the actual story itself isn't.

if my horse can super jump, why can't it super jump everywhere? convenient super jump locations should be based around the natural geometry of the place, you don't need to add a special QTE location. With the sekiro grappling hook it's much less egregious because a grappling hook might only get grip in specific more arbitrary positions, and they were plentiful enough that you could basically grapple to anywhere you logically should be able to, and the indicator was in the UI and not a magical fucking vortex.

Eh I don't see the problem with it. Looks like to me Fromsoft wanted to still do a lot of vertical game design even with a large open world, but having players need to go up a ladder or elevator or up a winding path every time might interrupt the pace so they just give you a way to jump really high in certain areas.
