I'm having a lot of fun with the game but i really think it's lacking in a lot of content. Exploration is great at forest but as you progress, you start seeing how little incentive there is to explore biomes you've been too before. Each Black Forest and Meadow are the same. They need to add pure content to fill out the world. Like statues, monuments, unique dungeons/ruins, hard to find treasure. Ii'd take cosmetic stuff or furniture pieces if it gave me an excuse to venture to a different land. As of right now, each biome is only there as a resource pool. This game has a ton of potential, the skeleton is there, it just meeds the meat

Playing single player is pointless because nothing is a threat to your base, the purge is busted and no matter what it spawns inside your base at some point. Playing online is redundant because if you don't babysit your buildings they either decay on their own or some chink tears it all down while you're asleep. The combat is shit in both pve and pvp, pve is braindead easy stunlock to win and pvp is meta shit where only one setup works. It's also insanely more grindy due to every item or building piece needing a fuckton of resources and it takes forever to build anything thanks to long boring craft times. At least in singleplayer you can adjust anything you want but at that point why bother, if you can crank up the harvest multiplier to 5x or 10x why even bother trying to play legit? At least Valheim hasn't ruined itself due to pvp focus.
Game drops off massively after bonemass, good solid start. Need to make bronze age more bearable though. I think they're going to be limited by the norse setting with what they can add, even if it does go real magical once you get to the plains.Need to improve mining and terrain manipulation as well. It gets boring because each level is doing the same but quicker, where as terraria has you do different things to summon bosses and aquire upgrades.

The largest problem is the lack of any kind of depth via building, and gear to a lesser extent.What made terraria and minecraft become huge juggernauts is the ability to take pieces from the world and turn it into so many building blocks to really bring whats in your mind into life.Currently Vallheim has one option for building, basically the same as if minecraft or terraria released with only the wood block to build with. These games would not have climbed to the great heights of popularity with only one block type to play with. If Vallheim wishes to stand a chance of surviving and not just being FotM, it will need to start introducing building aspects in a very fast pace. As I said before the game is extremely shallow, where if the extremely long time to build, collect was taken away no one would want to play it. Compare that with minecraft which has a mode that takes away any form of combat, gathering or crafting. This is creative mode and people love it and minecraft becomes an unlimited tool for peoples architectual, design and sculpting minds. Take away any one part of vallheim and it collapses, take any one part of vallheim and examine it and you realize its no deeper than a sidewalk puddle.
