>knows that Mark is a creepy lonely hatred-filled loser with anger issues
>knows that he pissed in her drawer
>hacked into her email
>broke her cup
>mouthed her off
>STILL DECIDES TO DATE HIM AND MARRY HIM, despite having zero things in common and all the above-mentioned incidents
I know Mark was the socially awkward one, but wtf was her problem? Especially when Jeff was a better match for her

You watch shows that promote drug use and homosexuality.

I can guess your wife's hair colour, but I can't guess her bfs hair colour.

She desperately wanted a baby.

>>153938958
By all accounts, Mark should be an incel but the writers thought writing him in a relationship would be funnier than him being perpetually single so they contrived Sophie and Dobby into being attracted to him
>>
>>153939276
from Mark though? was she SO desperate? it's either pity for him or Stockholm syndrome of sort

Women have evolved to seek security and social advancement in a mate and if they can't have both they'll settle for security. She felt safe with Mark knowing he could never do better than her and she could rub his face in it.

No. Mark was persistent and could handle rejection so eventually he was going to get one.

Stockholm syndrome is a recurring theme in peep show

actually a based take. the 'friendship' of Mark and Jez is the purest example

in a way it's kind of nice that you assumed he has a wife

rewatching this show I realised Jeff was actually a good guy who tried to help Mark on many occasions

You'd be surprised with how much people will let you off the hook for ridiculous shit because they won't remember it or they simply won't care after a while if you get along just fine otherwise.

Sophie is also a piece of shit human herself so take that into account too. You usually attract the same level of people as you are to yourself.

I think Peep Show is one of the best comedies ever created.

The perspective, the internal monologues, the horrible scenarios but you can't look away. It's fantastic.

to me it's one of the only long running comedy shows that never turns to shit. i know people say the later seasons are bad but i never noticed a drop off

I'm not a Catholic anymore, but I really enjoyed checking out a Latin Mass a few years ago. I met some pretty cool people there too.
>>
>>153939479
>from Mark though? was she SO desperate?
Have you never met a woman in her early 30s?
>>
>>153942188
Oops, meant to quote the first reply in the thread. Oh well.

Anyways the S3 finale clearly explains that Mark has nothing in common with her, doesn't actually want to be with her, and only started pursuing her because she was obtainable, eventually pursuing her for so long that he became convinced he wanted her far more than he actually did.

Then he ends up getting married to her anyways because he's too awkward to call it off. As someone said, stockholm syndrome is a recurring theme.
>>
>>153942105
I think it tapers off a little towards the end, maybe because the misery can only compound so much, but it's still great TV.
>>
>>153939862
He says a lot of cruel stuff but going on actions he's a saint.
>paid for the broken bowling shit s1
>stepped up to raise baby iain, attending parenting classes and eventually moving into nana's cottage
>did try to save Mark at the JLB conference with project Zeus

Jeff is a good bloke, you just cant see that through Mark's eyes.
>>
>>153942326

Asking someone to buy you condoms before fucking a woman they like is like a cat torturing a mouse for three hours before getting bored and slicing it.

Jeff sees Mark for what he is, a spineless worm
>>
>>153942526
I agree, and Mark was obviously only there to steal Sophie in the first place. Everyone in that situation was a piece of shit, including Jeff. That's why it was funny.
>>
>>153942403

The streaming site I use was missing some episodes but I found them on dailymotion, in case you need a backup
>>
>>153942403
Mark lied about being gay to spend the whole night trying to get with Sophie. Buying a few of the ol' rubber johnnys for Jeff was karma.
>>
>>153939024
all drug users in the show are portrayed as losers though, the show it's definitely not romanticizing drugs
>>
>>153942740
Right, but Jeff chose to keep him around to torture him rather than just tell him to piss off.
>>
>>153942765
I thought it was so funny how Mark smoked weed for the first time in season 1, and by the final season, he's purchasing his own cocaine.
>>
>>153942769
No, Mark was the one putting his foot in t he door. its a situation entirely of his own making.
>>
>>153942808
I'm not arguing that Mark is a good person or did a good thing, I'm arguing that everyone in that situation was bad.
>>
>Tbh lost interest at the start of Series 7
Is it worth finishing?
>>
>>153942789
Mark was extremely desperate in the last season, being okay with his bank being robbed, his flatmate being kicked out in the most humiliating way possible, okay with his crush's bf being kidnapped, etc.
>>
>>153938958
something about Olivia gets me hard lads, even today when she's an old hag
>>
>>153942886
Yeah you might as well. There's a slight quality dip, but that dinner party episode delivers the most laughs in the series, in my opinion.
>>
>>153942886
Yes. It's hard to find good comedies currently.
>>
>>153942902
are you British, by chance?
>>
>>153941660
I love it and I think it would have gone down as one of the all time greats if it had ended at the wedding.
I still liked the next couple of seasons, but it looked more and more "staged" in the latter seasons due to the sets actually being sets and different cameras, lighting etc.

The final season should just never have been made. It had a couple of funny bits here and there, but it was overall a bit of a mess.
I still don't know why the Moroccan salad bit is so popular. I thought it was one of the most unfunny parts and very uncharacteristic moments Mark has.
>>
>>153942950
>I still don't know why the Moroccan salad bit is so popular. I thought it was one of the most unfunny parts and very uncharacteristic moments Mark has.
I always interpreted that arc as Mark suddenly becoming fearful of being alone forever after striking out with Dobby.
>>
>>153942950
It's pretty funny.
>>
>>153939549
This
>>
>>153943003
But he's always been fearful of that. The bit where he just goes along with getting the marker drawn on his eyelids is completely uncharacteristic and ridiculous. It feels so forced.

>>153943014
I'd honestly rank it as the most unfunny part of the entire show for the reasons stated above.
But who cares. People can like or dislike what they want.
>>
>>153942272
I think thats just a natural element of a story arch, it reflects life in some way.

Early seasons characters are much younger, freer, but as time goes on the characters have more responsibility and are burdened by the heavy baggage of their previous mistakes, something I think peep show handles gracefully and a lot of my favourite episodes like the Paintball one comes in the latter end of the series.
>>
>>153942105
only bad episode is the one where they eat dog

Jeff starts off OK and you actually feel sorry for him when Mark tears his idea apart, but after that he's a complete asshole.

You people only like this show because it's about incels/pathetic, shitty people and you see yourselves in the characters, right?

The characters have sex all the time and get married, how are they incels?

Thank you for reminding me of using compound as verb, that was a good sentence
>>
>>153943304
i don't think it's a bad episode but that bit was a little too over the top for the show
>>
>>153943486
Wouldn't pathetic incels want to avoid watching shows that remind them about being pathetic incels
>>
>>153939549
>evolved
It was always this way anon but otherwise based
>>
>>153942950
The last 2 or 3 seasons were dogshit. The whole ending of Jez going for Dobby was fucking stupid. I watched it years ago but that is what stuck for me. The gags were great though, loved super hans.
>Jez who has never had anything in common with Dobby and is usually happily piping a 7/10 decides to randomly cuck his best friend on their engagement

ok
