>>142451583I saw him on SVU today
>>142451618he's all over the place nowadays it seems like, who knew he'd be the hardest working Lynch crop
>>142451583But it wasn't really a man. He was mistaken. Even the person listed in the credits is a woman. It was Camilla's burned and reanimated corpse.
>>142451856when you see it
>>142451842i didn’t read it that literal. i saw it as a witch, a spiritual manifestation of the evil that haunts the film, a denizen of the Black Lodge, like BOB>>142451882oh muh heckin C-standerinohow will the key grip ever recover

How’s the espresso, anon?

what was meant by this?
I am watching Twin Peaks season 3 for the first time. It's amazing. About to start episode 3. Fifth episode I've watched in a row today. I'm hooked.
>>142453088bro you are in for the ride of a lifetime, glad to see you here, have you seen Mulholland Drive?
>>142453084bob and vagene
>>142452958Was there ever any chance he would actually like the espresso? I feel like him spitting it out was a predetermined move to set the tone and was gonna happen no matter what
>that aint no way to treat your wife buddy
>>142453116I've seen it, years and years ago, though. I think I'm due a re-watch of all of Lynch's films, after my enjoyment of Twin Peaks.
Likely the greatest movie ever made, certainly the finest of this century. It was already my favorite movie, and then I had the pleasure of seeing it in a theatre and it somehow became even better, the way it was supposed to be seen, the theatre I was sitting in becoming a character in the Hollywood nightmare on the screen
Why are wheelchair villains always kino?
>>142451161You are a master troll
>>142453316> is coffee good for youaccording to lynch’s cosmology, coffee is an element of spiritual good, it’s like the anti-garmonbozia. the mafioso spitting it out showed his intolerance of that goodness; also it makes for a shocking and kino image.
>>142453365well absolute you should then after you finish TP finally, even if you have only a vague memory of MH it will help you make some sense of the chaos S3 descends into, if such a thing is even possible>>142453368very jealous anon i was quite young and certainly not tasteful enough to see this film when it was released, good on you!>>142453634you as well sir, you as well>>142453316>>142453713huh, this does explain why he would have never liked the espresso

rank lynch movies ladsmulholland drive > inland empire > lost highway > eraserhead > dune > wild at heart > everything else (still good tho)
WHAT DOES IT MEAN BROS?????
>>142453793The box is a Pandora's Box and contains the truth, we literally enter the box as the film hinges into the alternate reality third act
i keep coming back to it. it's just so good
>>142453767Lost Highway goes off the rails in the second half for me, and The Straight Story is maybe his underrated masterpiecealso Dune is trash
>>142453767Pleb taste warningFrom what I've seen Blue Velvet > Lost Highway > Dune > Mulholland Drive (Still good though)
>>142453899dune is trash compared to other lynch films, but better interpretation of the dune story than anything we'll ever get
she is such a fucking fox
>>142453959I saw them both in Inland Empire Does anyone know what that means?
>>142453767>>142453899>>142453910Mulholland Dr > INLAND EMPIRE > Blue Velvet > Eraserhead > Wild At Heart > The Straight Story > The Elephant Man > Lost HighwayNot a single bad one

>>142454128is this the best representation of tension-love dynamic on screen?
i am a girl(female) i saw the movie when it first came out in theaters, i was 12, it terrified and astonished me it unironically turned me bi a few months ago i rewatched it with my gf, she hated it but she still ate me out afterwards.

>>142454128The fact that she doesn’t respond is kino
>>142454336never notices that. brilliant.
>>142454430>when he appears at the dinner party based
>>142453793box is representation of her guilt for ordering the killing, ie "this is the girl". she doesn't want to face it, or open it until the very end
>>142451583Not completely sold on the movie, but this was by far the most memorable scene of any movie i've ever seenI think I need to rewatch it, it's been a few years
i really never did notice how much talk of coffee there was in the film before until anon commented above about coffee being good
>>142454430>>142451219>>142454454> Now, you will see me one more time if you do good. You'll see me two more times if you do bad. Goodnight.
>>142454574it's a top candidate for the best single scene ever recorded
>>142454612>>142454574And yet it’s as simple as simple can be. Literally two men sitting talking in a diner, with nothing happening and no fancy camerawork— but it evokes an overwhelming sense of unease and spiritual horror that you can feel in your bones. This is why Lynch is inarguably a master.
just finished the scene where Betty is auditioning in the office, really really good scene, probly made Naomi's career

>>142454723I think part of it is because diners are usually nice safe places but there's something so obviously wrong and uneasy about the whole situation.

>>142454574what do we make of the older couple climbing out of paper bags and terrorizing betty into death?guessing maybe they're parental stand-ins who know betty's real backstory, and she dreads that truth ?also, right before diane/rita opens the box - when betty just disappears out of view ... wow
>>142455586>those facesThey knew the whole time what her fate would be.
>>142455586sock hopopening sceneit’s all there
>>142455586>parental stand-insThis is it, they're naive boomers like her parents who convinced Diane to fly to L.A. because she won a jitterbug contest. They represent misguided optimism from parental figures who are supposed to offer wisdom but unintentionally end up dooming the younger generation.
>>142455586Apparently its Adam and Camilla seeking revenge for the life stolen from them but I think that actress looks way more like Diane than Camilla although its probably just a practical point.
>>142455662wathcing it as we type

>>142453767I only really liked Mulholland Drive, I love Lynch as an artist but his movies just don't do it for me. Had some weird ass dreams after watching inland empire tho that was cool
>>142455706never thought of that, but:irene is dressed in pink and subtly bejeweled - and her husband has pronounced, character-defining spectacles like adam kesher
>>142455723This is TP's best video. It would have been a shame if they'd tried to tackle this film 10 years ago before they got really good.

>>142456377>>142456149>>142455364too dark. increase exposure on your images before posting.
I always understood this scene to be Lynch affirming to the audience that the things they are seeing in the movie is a dream.Dan, the bug-eyed dude, explains to his friend, Herb, what his dream was. Most everything is exactly how he pictured it, and then he sees the Hobo. Exactly like how he saw it in his dream. You can look at this further by looking at how Dan recoils back in fear and seemingly dies, having a physical response from a dream. This mirrors Diane and how she dies because of her dreams and her thoughts.
>>142451161I just fucking watched this movie for the first time not 2 hours ago.
>>142456887and there you have it>>142456888trips confirm you must share with us your feelings about it
anything that lynch made that wasnt in black and white were incoherent, incohesive messes that maybe work for him on a personal level but they dont work for me at all. theres no singular image or feeling behind them that make them good. except the hobo jumpscare.
is wild at heart good?
>>142457445It's stupid but fun. I really like it.
>>142456906I picked it off of that best 100 movies of the 21st century or whatever. I liked all of twin peaks and eraserhead. I thought the acting in this was not the best at the beginning. Honestly reminded me of the room because of the early 2000s setting. Acting got progressively better and was great by end. I did not understand the significance of the theater and the recording of the singer, other than "its all an illusion". I was worried I would not understand it and get lynched like in eraserhead.. I think it made sense to me though. Rate my interpretation.
>>142457601Fuck see when I watched Eraserhead I didn't really understand and felt dumb reading other people's explanations and assumptions. Here's an example:>>142456887Fuck like this one, it makes so much sense now that I think about but I didn't catch it watching now so I feel dumb
>>142457601>Honestly reminded me of the room because of the early 2000s setting.anon.... the room was made because of this movie

>>142459355but what was really meant though?
This movie is gay and only faggots like it. I'll get a millions replies telling me im a brainlet and didnt "get" it. If i even think about asking what is about no one ever replies. No one can say what its about but pretend they ubderstand some higher form of "film" its really sad
>>142459626It's about Hollywood. It's not even supposed to be hard to figure out.
>>142459626i’ll give you a pity >Lynched cause i feel sorry for you and your outlook but i wouldnt hold out for those millions
