So if I have a Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass and want to take a Shinkansen from Hiroshima to Tokyo, does it work out to buy a ticket from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo at Hiroshima, enter at Hiroshima with the pass and exit at Tokyo with the ticket? Or will this lead to problems if the ticket never went through a gate before? Or should I put both into the gate at Hiroshima?
>>2579560good morning I love Seventeen Ice

Another shitty rainy day. And where the fuck are the morning variety idols/AKB/whatever shows. They only air stupid shit about fucking food. From morning to evening. Food 24/7.
I'll be in Japan around March 18th thru April 18th, flying in to Fukuoka and out from Tokyo. Can anyone recommend a good itinerary and specific places to see/things to do? I know I want to go to Nagashi Spa Land and Fugi Q Highland to ride the rollercoasters. I'll be bringing a bike so I don't mind places that are inconvenient to get to on foot. I know some Japanese and I've been to Japan once before. I've seen multiple castles so the only one I really want to see is Himeji, tho I don't mind seeing other ones. I do want to walk through some of the shrines at night, visit Okunoin Cemetary and spend a day on one of the deserted islands. Any recommendations? I'm also looking to explore some of the underground shopping districts and maybe visit some seedier, cyberpunk-ish areas if those still exist. So far one anon suggested the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum. I'll also visit the SCMaglev Museum in Nagoya and the Kyoto Railway Museum. If any anons will be in Japan that time and wanna meet up let me know, I can post an email address for us to arrange it.

This is going to be my last Saturday here bros. I haven't really experienced the clubs yet. Is it worth checking out even though my introverted ass probably won't interact with other club goers?

kinda wanna go cooming but none of my usual places really have any super interesting girls today. i couldn't go last month because of work and travel so i kinda wanna go. the one girl who overslept my appointment last time i went to see her is back in town, but that shop recently hiked its prices for foreigners and i'm not sure if my man at the front desk remembers what he told me about letting me get the japanese price next time. plus it's cold and windy and it might rain.wat do, frens? coom or stay in and catch up on video games?
>>2579652on second thought i think i'm gonna stay in. it's just not worth it to me if i'm not into the girl. hopefully next weekend there'll be some interesting new girls, I might even do a 3P to make up for not going todaythanks for reading my inner monologue

>>2579638I just walk into random clubs and always had the time of my life. Follow these steps>get drunk (important for autists)>search 'clubs' in Google maps, or just go stand in a random line>walk in and jump around like a retard to the music>the nips will all join you>go home lonely cause you didn't pick up a chick because even a drunk autist is still an autist, but at least you had fun
Just got home after my first visit. It's so damn easy and convenient and great to just exist there, I didn't expect it to be that good. Not a fan of clubbing or nightlife stuff so I didn't have anything too exciting in mind, but just being a person in Tokyo who doesn't have to go to work every day is the closest thing to heaven. On days where I didn't feel like going to some big attraction or landmark it just went like this>Chilling in Shinjuku Gyoen watching the trees and surrounded by happy people doing cliche happy things>Watching Godzilla in Toho Shinjuku. Fantastic film even though I can't understand half the dialogue. People are so quiet and tidy in cinemas.>Shopping for stuff I wouldn't find in a million years in the west, just going through each city hotspot and searching through their obscure stores>Pick a random restaurant and know almost certainly the food is going to be great on top of being cheap as hell>Walk around at night doing more shopping while stopping somewhere for dessert>Try random shit in arcades>Go back to hotel late and channel hop through bizzarre TV programmes while messing with stuff I bought and enjoying convenience store snacksI could honestly do that every day until I eventually run out of money then die happy

>>2579632are you interested going south? eg. to nagasaki and further? there is one cool volcanic peninsula further down, quite nice for cycling.japan isn't as cyberpunk for me as eg. china so idk what to recommend there, but if anything, osaka a few blocks west of tennoji has some cool cheap ass seedy karaoke pubs with businessmen and lots of neon. with matching cheap business hotels with cyberpunkish views.fukuoka has a street festival during golden week, and the street stalls are in full force then, but i think if you don't want to get stuck in the area you're just gonna miss that. lots of ferries to random islands there... idk about deserted, but lots of less popular islands for sure.if you're looking for museums, the depressing obvious one is the nagasaki atomic bomb one. not so obvious are all the ceramic workshops in arita (halfway between fukuoka and nagasaki).
>>2579748>I could honestly do that every day until I eventually run out of money then die happyThis was unironically my plan; not catch the return plane home, overstay my visa, fuck around doing whatever I want for god knows how long until I run out of money then I'll kill myself in a forest somewhere. I've been on some trips to a few typical holiday destinations and I didn't enjoy things like chilling in the beach or staying in a giant hotel. But getting to do pretty much the same things I do in my normal life, just in Japan instead, for a couple of weeks was like seeing a glimpse into the best possible life for me. The country that probably has the best quality of life and things to experience as an ordinary person, compounded by being cheap and easy to be in, then being a tourist takes away the one major disadvantage which is having to work all the time.

I'm genuinely scared to leave my hotel room now. Last night me and my travel buddy were strolling around Kabukicho taking photos of the lights. My friend is a lot more extroverted than me and he started talking to some drunk salarymen and I just kept walking taking. Out of nowhere I heard a man scream so I peeked over. I witnessed a gaijin get beaten the holy hell out of by some yakuza looking men. I thought this was a meme but it's fucking not. Guy was left left bleeding and they snapped his spine. I called an ambulance and they took it, cops from koban came but they didn't seem to care, they did ask for my passport just because I was there and a gaijin. Honestly I though Japan is safe from what I've read before. How do I avoid shit like this? I still have over a week till my return flights.

Bros I’m fucking retarded. How do I know if I’m boarding a limited express train or semi limited or regular train in Kyoto/osaka? Google maps just tells me to take a limited express. Last time I went to Nara, I tried to use the ticket machine but it didn’t let me buy a ticket, so I got one one of the regular trains which appeared to be slower and kept stopping. I tried waiting at the station next time but every time a train stopped it was one of the ones with reserved seats that required a ticket, so I got on the slower train again
>>2580474The side of the train will have an LED sign on it saying where it's going, and if it's an express or limited express train it will have a special color LED sign denoting it. In Tokyo express trains have a red LED sign and limited express/commuter express trains will have a blue or green LED sign. It will also say what kind of train is coming on the platform sign. If all this is too difficult you could always ask the train staff.

>>2580047If your budget for a bespoke suit is unlimited, I recommend Tailor Caid located in Shibuya, which specializes in Japanese Ivy League style clothing, especially sack suits made with tweed imported from Britain. Yuhei Yamamoto, the owner of Tailor Caid, even travels to New York to do trunk shows every year.>Ivy League is a style of men's dress, popular during the late 1950s in the Northeastern United States, and said to have originated on college campuses, particularly those of the Ivy League. It was the predecessor to the preppy style of dress. Although it may be perceived as formal or dressy today, in its heyday Ivy League was actually a casual approach to more traditional ("Trad") styles. The sack suit (and sack sport coat) were less structured, with natural shoulders and a roomier fit, and therefore appeared more relaxed. Additionally, Ivy Style was largely characterized by casual style affectations. For example, Ivy leaguers would frequently wear button-down collar oxford cloth shirts (which were originally developed as sportswear for polo and tennis players) with suits and sport coats, rather than more formal dress shirts with starched collars and double cuffs. Likewise, they would wear penny loafers or brogues rather than oxford shoes.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivy_League_(clothes)Van Jacket's Take Ivy Campaign Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI4s-ju-c3Mhttp://www.tailorcaid.com/Tailor Caid & Yamamoto-san: https://alittlebitofrest.com/2019/07/15/tailor-caid-yamamoto-san/A Closer Look at the tremendous bespoke range of Tailor Caid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlfcr4-lgcs

Hey all. Going to Japan with a friend and we plan on staying around end of Jan. to beginning of Feb.We are planning on staying for about 9 days (1 day for traveling). And recommendations for festivals, events, etc? We are landing in Tokyo and were planning on visiting Hokkaido for a couple days and then finish our trip in Tokyo. We are very pro-tourism and sight-seeing. My friend and I are also outgoing and social. We both like meeting new people.Could use recommendations for places to visit and sights to see for our itinerary as well.

>>2581224on an average day out i'd say like 75% of the people i see are still wearing masks, but i don't live in a big city like tokyo or osaka so people here might have a more conservative mentality and are therefore slower to change with the timeslike that other Anon said, masks are basically a fashion statement here these days; in fact i'm willing to bet most people who wear them aren't doing so because of the coof or because they're sick, they just do so out of a desire for privacy or because they're on company time and it's the company's policy that their employees wear masks - you'll notice that nearly every convenience store employee, hotel staff member, delivery driver, basically any lower level client-facing position, etc is still masked upthe rest of them are wearing masks for aesthetic reasons. asian people, especially japanese, tend to have really attractive eye areas but often seriously falter the midface and lower third; masks take care of that problem. there's even a term for these people - マスク美人 - who look extremely attractive with their masks on but as soon as they take them off it's a straight horrorshowand yes, as someone who lives in japan, there's nothing more frustrating than when you first meet a girl and she looks like a solid 9 with her mask on, only for you to eventually see her without it and she drops to a 5 or 6

>>2581282i don’t think it was ever a “trend,” just something that’s culturally seen as looking cute/youthful, specifically for womenSeems to be on its way out, though. people maybe 23 and up still seem to often have crooked/snaggle teeth but a lot of my coworkers who have kids of their own often bitch about how much they’re spending on braces/invisalign, so in maybe one or two more generations braces might become common practice like in america

Could anyone please give me a rough estimate for how much I should budget for a 2-3 week trip for 2 people (me and fiancee), sometime between September-December 2024? Maybe even Christmas and NYE. Don't need flights included as I have a companion voucher with BA and around 300k air miles, or 500k airmiles with FlyingBlue. Mostly interested in history; Kyoto, Osaka mainly and visit some castles. Eat a lot of good food, visit hot springs and private baths, visit the countryside and maybe a day or two in Tokyo.I don't want to spend a tonne of money, but I also don't want to be staying at hostel tier places. Would probably need 2 rooms as well as I snore pretty badly and we don't sleep in the same bed. Would £10,000 be enough? For travel in Japan, food, hotels and a few souvenirs? I'd like to stay as long as possible so 3 weeks if I can.

Expat here (going on two years) with a professional job. Has anyone else noticed the uptick of white female divorcees here? Usually with a hapa kid or two in tow. I used to think White/Asian relationships were difficult but god, when you actually speak to these women they came here for anime and other dumb shit and married/had kids with a local purely for this sort of juvenile cultural fascination. Now they're working bum fuck jobs here in their 30s to pay for their children with absolutely no exit strategy. What on earth did they expect would happen? Why were they surprised their husbands fucked prostitutes? Why were they surprised the marriage became sexless and passionless? Even I knew this stuff which is why I've avoided relationships with locals since I came here. Just blows my mind people can come to Japan with an attitude of "oh they're just like us with different food and funny clothes". Especially in regards to relationships. Lots of things to love about Japan but how they view love, sex and marriage aren't any of them.

>>2582308I saw 2 girls from the shop. I'd say both were almost certainly in their early 20s. Not judging just from looks but personality and style. The first girl, the one weve been talking about i absolutely adored, and If I had to guess I'd say she was 24 and I think the site has her listed as 21 or 22. The second girl was immature and bubbly so I'd say she was probably 19 to 22 based off of that but who knows. She wasnt really my type and I only chose her because my first choice wasnt working that night and didnt message me back until after I had booked which we were both unhappy about. Second girl did offer FS but said it would be extra. I declined. She did make an effort to make me cum twice with a 60 min appt and a cheap love hotel so I appreciated that. Neither girl was significantly older than their listed age and both, to me, fit the bill as a college aged Japanese girl. They both were really chill and went above and beyond with me. 1st girl was just way more my type and we had a fucking blast the entire time, so i think thats how the sex happened. Thats probably naive on my part but I certainly wouldnt expect that any of these girls will offer or just give it up.
>>2582248Glad you had some fun while there.I'm surprised it's really that dead. Some of the recent videos stillI had some girls around; I always see E-chan. I'm not sure when I'll be visiting Tokyo yet, and that sort of makes me less motivated to go. I'm so tired I can barely move right now, though. I probably should have just gone to the hotel to rest right away but couldn't help myself.
>>2582320I understand that, I found it impossible to sit in the hotel room for longer that 20 mins. Part of my problem might have been that I didnt go out till 10 pm each time. I also had an interaction with the police at the koban for seperate reasons i wont mention here so i didnt feel comfy lingering around. Dont forget to rest my guy, ill be here hoping your trip goes wonderfully.

She was pretty damn cute id def book again in a heartbeat. Only problem is I can see how someone can get attached. The 2nd girl i have barely thought about other than oh great tits and blowjob. The first girl ive definitely thought about how nice it would be to have for a weekend.

Same aint true of tobita, if you're not careful the only dozo you'll get is on monster alley
>>2582771Without speaking Japanese, or paying for it? I cant imagine it would be that easy. You will have to find someone confident enough in english, have chemistry, and hope shes the type ready to fuck upon meeting or both have the time to foster a fling for a week or two. That said, if you really want this to work go to a big club event, concert, or festival where people are drinking, partying, and more likely looking to hookup and shoot your shot.
>>2582798Does the anxiety prevent sexual performance or satisfaction or are you saying you cant even handle the initiation of any form of intimacy?

>>2582805Id be worried that they would be worried it was contagious or sign of poor hygiene and std.>>2582806 my honest opinion is that if you have the time and leisure to focus on hooking up with girls theres a good chance you'll make it happen atleast a couple times. The biggest barrier with the langauge issue is just that the typical art of communicating to girls that you arent a violent threat must be done with body langauge and kind gestures. The benefit is when you do find a girl that wants to bang a foreigner you dont have to try to hard to be interesting, because your "exotic nationality" has that covered. So just smell good and dress your best and you got this anon.

Even if I went to Japan and didn't get laid, I would still enjoy the fuck out of it because I respect the way they run their society. It feels very OCD and scratches that part of my brain. I still have fond memories of my last trip and it was just me walking around Tokyo late at night. Japan is fucking incredible.>I got more attention over there than I do at home despite feeling less attractive compared to your typical japanese guy.It doesn't take much to stand out if you're visiting Japan, that's why it's so great.

>>2583005I love the sushi shops where you have to shout your order to the chef who's busy with 10 other orders but then somehow he remembers everything perfectly
>>2582931I wouldnt worry about cringe. Its still ultimately transactional but I love being kind. I brought a gift and was really nice to her and it put her at ease and pretty quickly it felt pretty natural and like we were friends. It felt as if she wanted me to be happy not just satisfied. When she got down to her underwear and sat in my lap I was obviously in bliss and I could tell that made her beam. We did talk for a while and I asked why she works at a shop that only sees foreigners and she did say because they are nicer and more fun most of the time, so this was something she valued. You are seeing a prostitute so the benefit of that is you can be yourself without worrying about what is cringe or cool. I enjoy being nice and making people happy, both personally and sexually. If thats not you, dont put on an act but I still would make an effort to put the girl at ease somehow. All that said, yes the small gift went a long way. She probably would have been warm and welcoming without it but im not sure if fucked me without the upcharge like she did, and I am pretty sure she wouldnt have added me on ig and messaged me all week asking me to come back. So it was worth it.

>>2583064Haven't found that ever, everywhere I looked was couples and friends and me sitting alone at my phone, so gave up
>>2583064dunno how to tell you this but it's not 1998 anymore, you're not so cool and unique that japanese people will come and try to be friends with you just because you're foreign. least of all in fucking tokyo where you can't even throw a stick without hitting 4 different varieties of stinky gaijin.try an aiseki if you've got the balls for it and you don't mind the near certain likelihood that you're going to be paying some random girl's drinks and meal, and all you'll get in return is some superfluous conversation that ultimately leads nowhere. or search specifically for singles bars but be warned it's going to be jam-packed with other people just like you and there will definitely be a cover charge and/or drink minimum and/or time limit.the best advice i can give you is the same i'm sure you've heard everywhere else, avoid any place with a black nigerian tout standing at the door and waving you in.

Finally, when someone comes near your position, you need to give them the nod of acknowledgement then say a couple words "hey, what's goin on" then ask them where they're from or some other small talk, now the interaction has been initiated and you can engage in conversation until one of you gets bored and leaves

I'm actually so fucking mad at how bad I am at crane games. I can't win any of the fucking plushies after fuckload of tries. >>2583167>there is no difference in being truly confident and pretending to be, it’s just lies we tell ourselveskek, the shit リア充 say. There's a clear difference, true confidence is passive, default, while fake confidence takes active effort to put up and drains you of energy, and at some point in the night you can lose it because you're too tired to put it up and just revert to your default. People say "fake it till you make it" for a reason, you need to slowly build up your real confidence bit by bit using the fake one as a framework. I know because I've been in both situations, but you normalniggers have 0 empathy.
>>2583167>this guy gets it.I like the Karoke bars because even if you can't communicate well, Karaoke is an easy language barrier. Also most of these bars/Izakayas outside of the Tourist district barely see non japs. If your looking for a GF it's not a bad idea since people aren't as uptight in these places.Honestly when you think about it, you have less to fear about dropping your spaghetti in Japan because people already know you can't speak the language well or know the customs and as long as you make a mocum of an effort to learn it will pay you divdens here.
>>2583171i think you just described exactly why there is no differenceif you don’t have it you have to put it on, so do that until you get tired?having it naturally gets tiring too, fatigue of all kinds is human
>>2583175It's ok to admit when you're wrong. You won't make any lifelong relationships until you do.

>>2583373I spent 75 minutes with my favorite girl at Tobita the next day, and Tobita is supposed to mostly be quickplay. Imagine not wanting to spend 3 hours with an incredibly cute and tiny sub-145cm J◯ for almost nothing. Some things are harder to come by even with money. My priorities are definitely in the right place
>>2583382no shot 3 hours with a JK cost less than getting soaped down.
>>2583382do i need to speak any japanese to go to these places?
>>2583404if you gotta ask just stick to tobita, they can handle foreigners
>>2583260Websites only working at working hours is fucking ridiculous though. What the fucking fuck.
Is it a hassle to keep your hotel in Osaka and just travel back and forth to Kyoto for like 3 days? Train tickets look ultra cheap and the ride seems ultra short. Is there some reason you guys can think of that I should get a hotel in kyoto instead?
>>2583412no, no hassle at all and better in my experience
>>2583399It normally wouldn't, but hit the jackpot with this one.>>2583404There's no "place." This is stuff that you're not going to really find much information on even on the Japanese forums, even the ones that deal with less conventional offerings. Like the other guy said, if you have to ask, it's not going to happen.
>>2583412Yeah, do itStaying in Kyoto and/or Nara is a pain and depressing
>>2583334>line go up = goodthanks, federal reserve
>>2583382>75 minutes >3 hoursAnon ... you might have been scammed.
>>2583407IRS and the VA here in the states do it, lot of internal military websites as well.
>>2583187>I am confident, I just d-don't want to t-talk to people, that's allthinking emoji
When they look at you and seethe. You're taller than them, stronger them and don't all look the same
Did somebody screenshot the post about buying prostitutes gifts. If that shit doesn't live forever I've lost faith in this website.
>>2583490you mean because its so pathetic?
>>2583407>>2583468Every state's jury duty website usually goes down for maintenance between 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM every night
>>2583466I know most of you don't understand any Japanese, but please follow along if it's in English.
>>2579560>tfw when I have to tell a Chinese cunt in Kyoto to move because they kept taking 100 photos at the one great spotThey moved but they bitched about it in English. They ignored me until I did the “no speak English” bit then all of a sudden she knows English. Japan should’ve done a better job in ww2
>>2583538was it in kiyomizudera?
>>2583545Not that guy but i also had terrible expirience, right at kiyomizudera oneweek ago, 4 ugly chinese bitches hogged the spot for themselves and kept making pictures, after they did full rotation they started anew. I just squezed between them with my gf, because i already waited like 3 minutes.
>>2583492Yes...you're using a prostitute because you are pathetic and you go next level and get hood winked by them to bring them fucking omiyage - Like fuck. But I just offended 70% of this thread
why do monolingual whitoids still keep coming here and nig out when they can't get a japanese girlfriend to rape because nobody understands their English? People keep treating Japan like its kappa Mikey or Charisma man
>>2583545Lmao yup it was. It wasn’t this terrible 5 years ago.>>2583548Half of Kyoto are these fucks. I swear I hear more Bing chilling than Japanese.
>>2583555You just showed how pathetic you areThey are human beings Inb4 not white knight
>>2583562this is one way of letting us all know you are american and have never interacted with a real human

>>2583576fucking sideways againfuck
>>2583548What I want to know is, why can't they walk on the right side of the path like the Japanese. There's arrows everywhere telling foreigners how they walk here.
>>2583580you mean left?
>>2583584I thought the arrow was suppose to point at you.
>>2583584>>2583586Kek good bait, im a filthly gajin that sometimes forgot about it, euro habits.Btw no one respect it sadly ehen it comes to popular turists spots, especialy in kyoto.
>>2583590I guess some people just can't "when in Rome", or they like bumping into others: https://youtu.be/Cv6tuzHUuuk?feature=shared
>>2583590ok you got the baitbest rule for Japan is just look down, there are always instructions of where to walk, queue, stand, smoke, fuck etc.
to those of you looking for a mixed crowd of locals and English I can also recommend ‘Champagne and Gyoza’ in Akasaka best champagne list i’ve found in Tokyo and at reasonable prices the gyoza are great too
