Literally just hop on a train or a budget airline for 30 euros and go for the weekend? Don't you fags have a law mandating one month off at least so how hard is it? >t. jealous Indonesian stuck 4 hours drive from closest international airport.
>>2577541Europeans only travel to go on trashy "lads holidays" where they get drunk in certain destination cities and hang out with people from their home country.
>>2577541visiting different regions of the cool countries is better than visiting the autistic countries
>>2577541>YOU CAN EASILY go to some capital shity to take backlight photos of old buildings with your chinese phone while dribbling all the niggers, araps and chink tour groupswho gives le fuck
>>2577544You're thinking about Brits>>2577541>Literally just hop on a train or a budget airline for 30 euros and go for the weekend? That only works if you travel without check in luggage and you can't do that if you have kids>>2577541>Don't you fags have a law mandating one month off at least so how hard is it?That law doesn't mandate good pay necessary to afford holidays abroad. The EU is not like the US at all it really is a collection of completely different, independent states. Everything is radically different between EU countries and so are prices. Plus if I'm going to pay extra for a holiday I want to have tropical weather.
But I have?
>>2577591I recognize you from another post...In any case, most people don't have kids until they're at least of working age, and there are less countries in Europe than weekends in a year, so... just wait a year to have kids?
>>2577541As an Australian with a recently acquired EU citizenship I've vowed to move to Europe and basically live the rest of my life doing that.It costs $300 AUD just to get a flight to a different city here. Euros have no clue how good they have it living $40 away from hundreds of different cultures, festivals, activities, etc. Not to mention being part of the larger Afro-Eurasia continent. I'd walk from South Africa to Singapore if I knew I wasn't going to get killed along the way.
i met a german girl who's in her late 30's and she had never been to netherlands-amsterdam before. imagine living in dusseldorf and never going to 1 hour away country by bus-train for 10 euros.
>>2577541>for 30 eurosSince Europe looks nice and has good social services you forget just how poor those people really are when it comes to anything involving actual money.
>>2577541>the only travel cost is airplane fareHotels and tickets are stupidly expensive, especially in tourist trap "weekend city-break" cities. I did most of Europe but I've never been to Scandinavia and have zero desire to do so when I could just fly to SEA and end up spending less in total. Also Ryan/Wizz aren't any cheaper than AirAsia. Especially not on weekends. You have to take leave to get that 30 euro price and at that point, who gives a fuck about an extra hour or two on your flight.t. poorfag post-commie
Europe is a shittier version of the USA. They are close minded much more than Americans ironically despite them going on about how much more "educated" they are. They think somewhere 1 hour away is some unholy distant kingdom. Europeans have the mindset of medieval peasants. Meanwhile Americans, freely travel across a country bigger than Europe and move 1000s of miles without batting an eyelid.
>>257754130 "euros" doesn't even cover a one way ticket from the nearest airport <1 hour away to my town (less than 1 hour north of London) lmao>>2577695this is the truth. if you are lucky, you might find a mythical 30 euro flight for a weekend break is gonna be something like a late saturday flight out with an early sunday return. congrats you breathed the air in your <weekend break city>It is true how easy it is anyway but you seriously need to correct your view on the cost because a flight ticket isn't even the expensive bit, try book a hotel in your <Weekend Break City> (I am not a smelly dirty poor fuck so I don't stay in hostels). I have gone to 9 European countries this year but I feel like it's more of a checklist before I likely decide to fuck off from this shithole continent for good
>>2577541>How have Europeans not visited literally every european countryI can't say I have visited "every" european country, but I'm getting thereGod willing I'll finish the balkans this summer (albania, kosovo, n. macedonia, northern greece)Also to answer your question:Many europeans do like to travel around when they get the chance. Even boomers (notoriously lazy and stay-at-home, at least where I'm from) will often take long weekends in some european capital or other while getting scammed by touristy hotels. I know several people my age (excluding rich fags) who traveled more than meAlso, there can be huge differences in living cost between different european states. I'm an italian poorfag and to me, switzerland (which is literally next door, the border is less than 30 mins away by car from where I live) is simply unaffordable, accomodation and food simply costs too much. It's the same for nordic/scandinavian countries, I was able to afford norway only because I had a friend who let me sleep at his place in Oslo for a while, otherwise it would have been too expensive simply because buying a meal there would cost me at least two-three times what I'd spend in Italy, even in the absolute cheapest places. People from places in europe with less purchasing power have it even worse. However, conversely, if you're from western europe and want to travel on the cheap, eastern europe / balkans / caucasus are all fantastic options since everything is way cheaperAs other anons pointed out, flights can be stupidly expensive / inconvenient, to the point that "weekend breaks" aren't really practical (which is why moving by bus / train is generally better when you have the chance). This is especially a problem if you work a regular mon/fri weekly schedule
yeah this is the way, just booking a couple weeks off work and take a trip with multiple stops/countries. your cost per day travelling in europe with regular weekend breaks all over is going to be double
>>2577541Do you realize how much actual traveling is necessary to cover the entirety of a continent? I spent multiple years and 100,000 miles driving around America, and still can't say I've explored most of it. Also, people have life priorities that may not include blowing $10,000 on a month of travel.
Living in Europe just seems uber depressing
>>2577541We don't call 'em Europoors for nothing.
>>2577670>But I have? This, the only place I haven't been to yet that's named on the map are the Finnish places and Sofia. I haven't died yet, so don't worry, I will visit those soon.
Why would I spend all my time in one continent when I have other continents to explore?Besides, weekend trips can be stressful, even if you fly to save time.Having said that, the diversity of places in Europe is really underrated, you can go from forests in Finland to cork trees in Portugal, from Irish coasts to beaches in Cyprus without the need for a passport or having to go through customs.
>>2577541It all looks the same save for the major tourist attractionsSightly different food and a different language, big dealt. european
>>2577541Exploration is the mindset of a competitive people and europeans aren't that, except for the Brits, who explored TF out of the world. A couple mediterranean countries are the reason "latin" america exists but lost their edge when their colonial systems collapsed. >>2577700It's this. Euros rarely even leave their home cities let alone their fiefdoms. Americans will drive 2 hours to meet up with people they haven't seen for 3 years for a barbecue. Americans will drive across the country to see some shitty rock in the desert just because "its there." There's a reason that it was the US who put men on the moon meanwhile euros are like "that's cool that humans went to the moon." Plus a lot of euros have major autism about being understood in their own languages and while most of them have learned the languages around their home countries, and English, a conversation between a Slovakian and a Belgian in English is bound to go nowhere since both of them will probably not have great English pronunciation where both would otherwise be able to understand correctly spoken English by someone with a standard British/American accent.Imagine if every American had 4 weeks of paid time off every year. With all the free time, they would have already figured out growing recreational cannabis on the moon by now.
>>2577541people here (UK) do this thing called "interrailing" here where you travel around continental Yurop on trains after graduating secondary school but it's ruinously expensive
>>2577707>I am not a smelly dirty poor fuck so I don't stay in hostelsWhen I did Europe with my gf we just stayed in private room hostels. Much cheaper than hotels and you're not with a bunch of hippies. Sure it's not luxurious but for 2 days who fucking cares? I don't need a bunch of amenities that I'm not going to use.
>>2577546thisalso there are 50+ countries in europe, even if we were to do them all it takes time, and its only really easy and convenient for central europe to visit other countries regularly, for Portugal for example you can only easily get to spain and even that takes a while of you want to go further than the border
I see euros here complaining about how prices go up on weekends but don't you guys have paid and unpaid leave?Just a quick google search tells me you get at least 4 weeks of paid vacation and probably much more unpaid. That's 4 week long holidays every year. Not to mention that it accumulates.Just take a week off when flights are cheap?
>>2577996In the U.S. people take off work rotating throughout the year, often scheduled so that different coworkers don't go on vacation at the same time to minimize disruptions to things, but a lot things shut down around Christmas regardless. In the europe the main travel season is the middle of summer and everything just shuts down for that month. And I mean it shuts down. All the browns drive back to fucking africa too with a car load of crap to dole out to their relatives.
>>2577996>and probably much more unpaid.lol, lmaoIt's hard enough already to go on your paid leave outside of peak holiday season. I only know one person who went on unpaid leave and the guy had to provide another friend as a willing slave to be employed in his place for the duration.
>>2577678>I recognize you from another post...doubt it, but maybe?>>2577678>In any case, most people don't have kids until they're at least of working age, and there are less countries in Europe than weekends in a year, so... just wait a year to have kids?If we exclude families and just look at young people then in my experience most young Europeans, at least in the EU countries, travel a lot. I have been to many EU countries as a student - it's very popular to organize trips through student organizations, for example. Erasmus programme provides funding for that, on top of the obvious exchange stuff. Even after I graduated I still see lots of my friends doing either small weekend trips all over the continent or longer voyages once a year - but again, it's mostly the childless folks who do this.
>>2577695>Also Ryan/Wizz aren't any cheaper than AirAsiaYes and also, "budget airlines" end up being more expensive once you have checked luggage. Given lower quality of service and much worse demographics, I usually just go with standard airlines. The cost is the same and my experience is usually better. Can't wait until I can afford first class. One day, perhaps.
>>2577541They do and it's already full on weekends because of that. Best way without traffic jam and other waiting is in between holidays and working days
>>2578077It's annoying, they keep the headline prices the same for the comparison sites, but they've massively upped the baggage cost in the last couple of years.I flew UK to Prague recently; flights were £40 return, but taking a large cabin bag cost me £100.I don't think any airline does first class for flights within Europe.
>>2577681Same thing living in Scotland for a while. All that wonderful countryside and most people never went there
>>2578150The non-budget airlines like BA do some perverted form of a business class around Europe. Basically you get a normal seat (either window or aisle) with the middle seat blocked out by a tray. They put up some temporary/detachable curtain separating the business class area from the normal area. Kind of pointless
>>2578150Don't forget they keep shrinking the carry-on.
i used to live in europe and it really is easytravelled most the country i lived in, plus 6 other ones partially in the space of 2 yearsget enough time off to do itgood public transport plus cheap flights makes it easy and quick to move between different places only thing preventing me from having done more was moneyband i like is playing 4 countries away? fly there on friday evening or saturday morning and spend a day or 2 then fly back
>>2578184The carry-on I paid for was the same case I used 10 years ago. Only 10 years ago it was included with the flight.
>>2578174It's pointless for the short distance flight itself but less for a connecting flight to somewhere long distance where you get to enjoy all the real amenities and services.I still wouldn't pay more than maybe 100 bucks more for the experience.
The intense autism in threads like this makes me wonder if I’m literally the only person on this board that actually travels.
>>2578208The people who actually travel only drop in occasionally to dump some text or pics.If I'm abroad, I only shitpost for a bit on /int/ to get my flag.
>>2578208This entire board is a bunch of larpers, most of whom were banished when the jeet mod got tired of India cooming threads.
The average salary in places like Hungary, Czech, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Ukraine, Romania, Montenegro, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia Belarus,Lithuania, is all less than 20K a year. A lot of women in eastern Europe don't work, so it's a lot of single income families. People there don't have expendable income to travel. I don't meet a lot of people from West Virginia hanging out on the beaches in southern California either.
>>2578380>A lot of women in eastern Europe don't workWhat do they do all day?
half of Europe is a shithole and I don't care about sightseeing. Why the fuck would I waste my time and money to visit Hungary? Absolutely no reason to go there.
>>2577541why should I. It mostly looks the same everywhere. The only difference is the warmer climate in the south and the different vegetation as a result. But I have already been there.I have mountains and lakes in the area where I live so I do not have the need to go anywhere else
>>2577681but why would you? Everything looks the same there, well you have more nigs in Amsterdam but that's it
>>2578440Notice how Europeans try to speak US English without an accent.Like they must practice all day every day in front of a mirror, desperately wishing to be American. This Polish whore wants the US dream. A house, picket fence, a BBC husband with mulatto children. Typical Europeans. Discount wannabe dollar store USA shithole.
>>2578391Make pierogi I suppose.
>>2578529the stoic response of the eastern european woman when the usual generational slaughter eventually comes through the land
>>2577541 Dude people here are working their ass off, struggling constantly, but opposite to the USA we are paid peanuts. Driving around is very expensive compared to the US. Flying is inconvenient for short distances and discouraging with the waiting times, constant protests of literal whos, delays (I generally despise airports so I'm biased). Buses are very inconveniet if local, and Flixbus has a monopoly on interstate driving so it's expensive (and of course disgusting). BUT if you think trains are concenient... Oh my sweet summer child. Whoever was responsible about international trains must be tortured and shot with TommyGun on fullauto in the head. You can't easily drive fun and long scenic route, because the bureaucracy and train companies make it literally impossible to enjoy. YES there are number of train companies all competing with each other. Booking tickets to drive from Malaga to Athens for example will make you literally cry tears of blood. Also accomodation in most places is ridiculously overpriced compared to what they offer. Enjoying every single country is not enjoyable, because it's not easy. Language difference is something that you will never understand unless you live there. It's not fun if you can't communicate with locals. For example I studied Spanish for like 3 years (maybe not like intensely but still) and when I went to Southern Spain I didn't understand A SIGNLE FUCKING THING. Only people I could speak with where Latin Americans lmao. Anyway let me be clear:1.Almost every European person travelled to few other EU countries. Even my fucking grandma.2.There's mostly no point in travelling to every one of them. Regions are very similar, France is similar to Spain, Italy to Greece, Nordcucks are literally the same, Poland to Germany, and Balkans as a whole. UK is a different region on it's own I guess, but still similar to Nordcucks. So tell me again why would someone bother with visiting every single one of these shitholes?
>>2578618I just want to nitpick that the nordics aren't like the UKAlso I posted that all the central european countries are basically the same several months ago and the thread was full of rage replies when I woke up
>>2578649just central europe? as in, poland and hungary are basically the same just as latvia and lithuania, or romania and bulgaria, or any of the balkans? or are all of them kind of homogenized and soviet-washed and essentially the same?
>>2578618I haven't read a post this retarded in a long time.
>>2577541I am from germany and I don't know anyone who hasn't been at least to all major countries (spain, france, england, italy) plus some skandi, balkan, eastern europ and benelux country. We have seen all the continent has to offer.
>>2578618>Oh my sweet summer child
>>2578380Meanwhile here in Binland salaries appeae high but taxes and living costs are such that a fucking middle class Serb takes home almost as much as I do as an office drone in this quasi commie shithole. Anything West of the Polish border is too expensive for a long weekend meme trip. Might as well save up and spend two weeks cooming in SEA.
>>2578919>bong tries not to mention that he pays possibly underage third world sex slaves for sex >fails miserably
>>2577891Friendly reminder that the Saturn rockets used to put people on the moon were essentially developed by Germans. That said, Europeans are indeed much less likely to travel great distances within their own continent for a host of different reasons. Personally, I'm keeping it for later when I'm older and don't feel like dealing with lots of hassles, as I gravitate to Asia and Africa now.
>>2577891you shouldn't really be talking about autism while writing this autistic drivel
>>2578968If you look at all of the trends baked in and if anything only going to accelerate, I'm not really sure that there is a Europe you will even want to go and see "when older"
Every time I take a look at Europe I am filled with disgust.>Ugly wannabe US cities, outdated infrastructure, celebration of mediocrity.>Europeans who have no culture of their own except worshipping US culture. Signs, shops, everything is displayed in English even when English is not the official language.>Europeans increasingly speak US English with no accent (which takes tons of practice)>Since Europeans produce no culture, no movies, no celebrities, no music whatsoever their only claim is their shitty outdated architecture, which they plaster over with rainbow flags, something their ancestors would have hung them for>No nature and no respect for nature, all of which has been mowed down. Ironically the only based people in Europe are the migrants, who rightfully have so little respect for the disgusting globohomo race of faggots known as Europeans, they have decided to reject their garbage culture entirely. Shitty second rate version of the USA
>>2578968>Friendly reminder that the Saturn rockets used to put people on the moon were essentially developed by Germans.Yeah, technology the Germans developed to bombard England, lmao. I guess that's how it is. Americans go to the moon, Europeans fight with their neighbors for 1000 years.
>>2577681I mean, people are just like that. Ofc the ones with a sense of wanderlust won't understand on a travel board, but a ton of people are just homebodies. I moved to LA about 2 years ago and have spent the majority of my free time exploring southern California. When I told a coworker that I was going to Long Beach (~45 minutes away at most) he said he'd never been despite living in LA his entire life.
>>2580404You'll meet people in Las Vegas who are landlocked in a city that's 4 hours of driving in every direction to the next major city who have never visited any of the local state parks around Vegas or Zion National Park 2 hours away, or the Grand Canyon, or even the next little city down the road in Laughlin.
>>2580426I've met people in Bullhead/Laughlin who have never left town, like not even to go to Vegas, an hour and change away.
>>2580404>>2580426>>2580429You get people like that everywhere. People can talk about Yuros being NPCs or some shit, but you meet a lot of people in small towns in the USA who don't know anything but that town and its environs. An Italian friend of mine has an uncle. He is in his 60s and has never gone more than one town over from his, and when I say town, I don't think he has ever seen a community with more than 5,000 people (I know the towns there well). He has spent his whole life about an hour's drive from the provincial capital and has never been bothered to visit. Simply doesn't care. I haven't asked but I think a few of my older family members are similar.
now this looks likea thread for me
>>2577541Y'know, I was asking myself the same thing recently. I live 20 minutes from a major airport, I can leave my car in a bush somewhere and fuck off for a couple days to whatever is the cheapest plane ticket on sale right now. I never did it before because I didn't have a job that allowed me to do this kinda thing.
>>2577830>slightly different food and different languageyes this is true of most travel. but taking a train to a nearby country for $20 is cheaper than $200 to another continent (hi burgerbros and leafs)

Last time I traveled to Europe I spent a week in Madrid and another in Paris.Madrid was... ok? The food was excellent and the Museo del Prado is a must-see but the weather was extremely hot (don't go to Spain during the summer, it's unbearable) and it's very tourist-trappy.Paris was apocalyptic however. Streets were dirty, Arabs and subsaharans everywhere, couldn't visit the Louvre because of the kilometric line of chink tourists, a fucking glass box around the Eiffel tower and burned out Notre Dame.Europe is expensive and a lot of countries are boring/shitholes.However, I won't tolerate Americans talking shit about my continent, y'all are fat and ignorant, you turned your cities into depressing giant parking lots so you don't have room to talk about ours. And contrary to your baseless stereotypes, Euros are generally pleasant to talk to yet you complain that they take the time and effort to learn English.Americans are still xenophobic from the 19th century
every single european woman does this, she goes on a shitty weekend trip to pose for some pics for instagram at the colloseumbitches are completely broke rest of the year and cant afford actual vacation until they start sucking a guy's cock that will drive them to italy/greece
