Burqueño here, there's really nothing. The sidewalks roll up at 9pm and the bars are mediocre. We have a very small 'downtown' with older brick buildings everyone takes pictures at to fool themselves into thinking theh're somewhere interesting. Some of the girls are hot though, but a lot are obese latinas in croptops and skinny jeans pulled over their gunts. Go literally anywhere else.
Make a pilgrimage to the Walter White house from breaking bad. It's famous, because in the TV show one of the characters throws a pizza on the roof. So people started throwing pizzas on her roof in real life and the owner became Batshit crazy and obsessed against people who were trespassing on property, so she went all out to stop them. She has security cameras offense, a massive fence, and she repainted the house, so it looks nothing like the original TV series. She sits outside her house and videotapes every single car that drives by and write down the license plate. honestly it's really fucking funny go visit.

IME, the area around and south of the transit station is bad, but not horribly so. Lots of bums on the sidewalks, and a few people who appeared to be dealing drugs, but no homeless camps, piles of trash, screaming schizos, or drunk niggers hollering at me. ABQ definitely does not qualify as a major shithole in my book. The rest of the city seemed pretty chill on a sunny and calm autumn day. The Rio Grande looks to have a nice trail if you like bicycling. Picrel is a funny sign I saw in downtown.

>>2551458Kek. Nobody goes to New Mexico for the wonderful people. New Mexicans as a people are hardly better than Arizonans (the worst people of any state in my opinion). If you like sunshine, a dry climate and plenty of space, New Mexico is kino. Downsides are lots of wind and drastic temp changes. Weed is legal, gasoline is the cheapest in the western states. It's a good state to drive high, with drivers being much more relaxed than in Arizona or Texas. Santa Fe is the clear pinnacle of New Mexico living. Los Alamos is reportedly very affluent, never been up there. Taos is a popular destination; I didn't care for the town, but it is definitely quirky and unique. Silver City is the nicest city in the south of the state. Truth or Consequences is also cool, and Las Vegas has its quiet stately charm. Most of the other cities and towns are dying off or composed of little more than lifeless sprawl. Property crime is a huge problem; rural New Mexicans are basically Hispanic hillbillies. Arizona has better deserts than New Mexico, and Colorado has better mountains than New Mexico. But I'd still recommend visiting New Mexico if you like roadtrips.
