It has been officially announced today that China will begin issuing tourist visas again, for the first time since 2020. Reported by Bloomberg, Reuters and WSJ.

Applications open 15th March 2023.

Anyone remember the process from the before time?
>>

I went to Hong Kong and got visa at the airport, costs a bit more for multiple entry or long term but they issue them out easily for you then you catch a flight to mainland. My broke ass was struggling and couldn't get express 1 day processing so I lived for a few days at that airport, which was a nice airport with paid showers, other people sleeping and many food options but still that was a young dumb and free decision you do in your 20s.

In any case visas are easy to visitors I guess with good passports because the agency does whatever invitation thing they need. I can't remember what else was required but they keep your passport until it's ready obviously. This may be a better option if you don't live near a Chinese embassy or don't want to wait.

Wheres the idiot who said they were ripping Chinese passports of people who leave the country? These guys are everywhere right now.
>>
Who cares? China's a stinking dump

Thank you for your valuable contribution. This thread can die now, as anon has declared nobody should care about China.

Hey jackass. Of course there will be some people who care. Stay out of threads you don't like.

I live in Chingqing. Thinking of making some travel videos for the few of you who plan to come here. What would interest you? Top 5 eateries? Top 5 cafes? Best walking paths? I really don't know.

Best clubs to pick up Chinese girls.

They were blocking Chinese from leaving for 'non-essential purposes' ie tourism most of last year, although enforcement strictness varied greatly by port of exit.

>>2421961
Visa agent for tourist visa you'll have it back in a week unless the consulates are still messed up, which is possible depending on your country

Recs are hard to give without knowing your previous (if any) China history but as a general hidden gem recommendation, in my opinion - Dongbei - particularly Dalian/Changchun

>>2422086
literally any of them, ESPECIALLY in Chongqing
>>
>>2422130
Age:57
Budget: no more than $5 for a cover and drinks should be no more than $1
>>
>>2422270
Are you trolling? Chongqing isn't Thailand. Nowhere will sell you drinks for a dollar.
>>2422261
>They were preventing Chinese from leaving
Yeah that's some real fake news shit. Plenty of people I know went out. The problem was coming back in as you had to do quarantine.
>>
>>2422299
Passport shredding is largely fake news. Denying people exit for tourism was 1) the official policy 2) widely documented 3) saw it with my own eyes last time I left

What's the easiest way to get into china? L visa? i read that some ports in china have visa on arrival for very short term (3-5) days. couldnt you just visa on arrival and then go to the consulate in country and get an L visa?
>>
>>2423936
>Couldn't you just visa on arrival and then go to the consulate in country and get an L visa?
Don't know about China but many visa on arrival and visa waiver arrangements explicitly forbid extensions and visa changes from within the country.

>Anyone remember the process from the before time?

I was in 2015
basically you need to go the embassy with a photos and your passport, they give you a paper with basic shit to fill out like: your job, your employer, your bank account balance, where do you want to go etc. After you finally give them your stuff they tell you to wait. After like 3 hours they called me again, saying my visa is approved, and they will notice me when I can go back for my passport (it was like 3-5 days)
>>
>>2422551
chengdu is known as the gay hub of china. curious you mentioned that place specifically
>>
>>2423957
>>2421252
>Anyone remember the process from the before time?

I went in 2018 to Xinjiang and Qinghai and Tibet. I had to fake a whole itinerary with flights and hotels in completely different places which I cancelled immediately after getting my visa approved. To my knowledge you still have to provide the embassy with all your days accounted for in bookings as well as flight tickets in and out of the cuntry.

>Dongbei
Lets psyop the coomers into visiting Shenyang just like they got psyop'd into visiting Vietnam for pussy kek
>>
>>2423936
Countries do not maintain consulates/embassies inside of their own country for obvious reasons.

Yes there is transit visa, aka visa on arrival, 72-144 hours depending on port of entry and you are limited to where you can visit, usually just to the port of entry itself although Shanghai lets you visit Zhejiang and Jiangsu as well. You have enter from one country and have a departing ticket to a third country for this to be allowed

There is no way to switch/obtain visa inside China or extend stay if you enter this way.

>>2424016
Dongbei is a good part of China for mongering but a bad part of the country for picking up normal women (relatively speaking)
>>
>>2422067
Just do the most aesthetic places that's why people go there
>>
I don't like Chinese women because they get pregnant on purpose to sell aborted fetus stem cells for spending money.

A lot of countries ask you for hotel and itinerary when visiting. I always just make up bullshit. No idea why they even bother asking. No country I ever went to ever checked

>Girls
Uh huh. Sure you are.

>Dongbei

Why do zoomcels do this? Its name in English is Manchooria.
>>
>>2424327
Unless you also refer to Guanzhou as Canton and Xiamen as Amoy, etc, this is dumb. Dongbei is currently the most correct and universally understood way of referring to it
>>
>>2424252
>I always just make up bullshit. No idea why they even bother asking.
When you apply for United States permanent residency, they ask if you're a member of the Communist Party. Nobody with half a brain will say yes, but if they catch you lying, it's grounds to immediately revoke your legal status and even prosecute you.
>>
>>2424252
but in china they also want to see actual receipts and bookings not just your word afaik
>>
>>2424450
There's a difference between lying and changing your plans.
You can get into trouble trying to overthrow the US government and assassinating the president without checking the correct boxes on the immigration form.
You are less likely to get into trouble for changing parts of your itinerary after you got the visa, this used to be a common procedure in China until they closed their borders in 2020.
>>
>>2424459
Refundable reservations and flights bookings are accepted, a fairly common sense policy TBQH.
>>
>>2424446
Manchuria is absolutely the most common name used outside of China.
>Dongbei is currently the most correct way of referring to it
In China, yes, but we're not in China.
>Dongbei is currently the most universally understood way of referring to it
That is just not true.
>>
>>2424460
>You can get into trouble trying to overthrow the US government and assassinating the president without checking the correct boxes on the immigration form.
If the government ever feels like making you fuck off, they can revoke your residency without a trial if you are caught lying on the forms you applied for it with. No need for criminal charges or making them stick. Admittedly, this is an extreme example. No one's gonna get you into trouble for fibbing about where you'll be staying. They probably just want a way of finding you in case the need ever comes up.
>>
>>2424498
>If the government ever feels like making you fuck off, they can revoke your residency without a trial if you are caught lying on the forms you applied for it with.
That's the purpose of those questions.
No criminals will be caught because of them but they're really convenient to get rid of people.
>>
>>2424253
Is it like twink heaven or what?

What are Chinese twinks like?
>>
>>2424496
>In China, yes, but we're not in China
but anon, I AM in China
...and I would contend that the average westerner would be equally unable to identify "Manchuria" OR "Dongbei" on a map

>>2424570
Chengdu is the fag capital of China but also one of the best cities to get girls. It's kind of just a big party city. Very relaxed. I don't know any particulars about the local twinks other than IIRC some club got busted for hosting a bug chasing party a couple years ago kek
>>
>>2424627
Everybody who knows a little bit of WWII history knows about Manchuria, but nobody has heard of Donbei.
