What are the best places for a well-off young guy to live in America?
Colorado Jupiter FL DallasMontana
What are the best places for a young guy with no qualifications or money to reboot his life
>>2397215where in colorado? im considering moving there, its between colorado and miami. I wanna finish my degree t. 25 year old guy with a bit of money from crypto goal is to join the guard in a sof unit and finish college and bang women and neet otherwise.
>>2397217join the military
>>2397300>guard>sofkekjust go active duty if you think you can do sof
>>2397214Washington, DCDating market favors men. Several universities, plus immigrant pussy, plus tourists. You can fuck across the USA, the entire globe, all in your own backyard. Outside of women, there are always a bunch of entertainment options, from sports ,to theater, to concerts.
>>2397390>>Dating market favors men.how so?
>>2397390>Dating market favors men.Really? It's not like New York, where every goddamn cow is "busy with work" until she gets dropped by Chad?
>>2397512>>2397573Not that anon but live in DC. The city has more women than men but it's a lot of initially career women. They all come in and don't take relationships seriously until they're in their mid 20s and then they all want a relationship. I'll put it this way, I'm balding and mediocre looking and I've never had more success dating than here.
>>2397574interesting. so are all the women basically post-wall liberal career-oriented roasties? that isn't appealing. but i do like the idea of all the foreign women being there. i was once in DC on business and matched with an insanely lot jap woman but when i told her i didn't live there she lost interest
>>2397578Tons of foreign women given the embassy presence here. Korean population is much larger than the Japanese.
>>2397381I'm not looking for that kind of thing.
The Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach California. Zero violent crime. No homeless people. Perfect weather. One of the best beaches in the US. Close to literally everything. Endless outdoor activities. 10/10 women. I lived there for 8 years. I fucking loved it. The only rea downside is that everyone is constantly renovating their houses. The city literally gives away free money for people to maintain there houses. Everyone on my block was offered $40,000 from the city with no strings attached to do any outdoor beautification project anyone wanted to do.
>>2397578>interesting. so are all the women basically post-wall liberal career-oriented roasties? No. Did you catch the first lart of ehat he said? The pre-wall ones don't take relationships seriously, but there are more women than men. What rhat means for you is there are ample numbers of college aged women who are looking to have sex/have a good time that aren't looking for a relationship. Do be aware that the Asian ones often are, unless rebellious. Tbh, what they are looking for doesn't matter. They'll all open their legs in pursuit of it.
>>2397725>the dating scene is crazy since year everyone is a 10/10 striver, so that means if you are just average you are basically hideous next to rich kids with designer clothes and plastic surgeryThis is some real shit. I went to an Ivy League school and the dating scene was insane. Competing with 10/10 millionaire Chads mothered by generations of trophy wives. Look at Conor Kennedy. 6'5 with a handsome face and daddy's money in the bank. He fucked Taylor Swift when he was in high school. And there are plenty like him. We're all just slaves funding the dividends that go into their trust funds. I never stood a chance.
>>2397727When did I say any of that man. I don't have any interest in those things. I just want to find somewhere nice to live and I'll work a menial job
>>2397727>military>work>hardlolThe only reason the military is appealing is because of the free handouts for minimal work. Healthcare rest of your life, 20k sign bonus, free education, the nepotism of being military so in more cases than not your little title plus whatever education you gained you'll have a leg up on "civy" candidates. BUT if you're halfway intelligent you have to accept you're willingly labeling yourself an amerigolem zogbot contributing to his governmental and corporate overlords.
>>2397215>DallasHahahahahHahahahahahahaHaha. Lol. Lmao even.
Is Pittsburgh decent?
>>2397578>with an insanely lot jap woman but when i told her i didn't live there she lost interestmy brother in christ, your date was a spy
>>2397936>BUT if you're halfway intelligent you have to accept you're willingly labeling yourself an amerigolem zogbot contributing to his governmental and corporate overlords. They're generous with benefits because they have to be. Otherwise free people in a wealthy society wouldn't put up with it. They get their money's worth out of you. I know a girl who signed up for the National Guard. They're paying for her school and she was living large because she still lives with her mom. Then one day, they told her she has to drop everything for a year and patrol the border with Mexico. She signed up for the Guard in a blue state. Who would have thought they'd send her to Texas, of all fucking places? Now she has to waste a year of her life in some desert shithole, hours away from any city. And what happens if the whole Ukraine thing turns into a shooting war involving us? What if the gooks invade Taiwan? You can make more money than you would in the armed forces easily if you just make something of yourself. Community college is cheap, you do two years and come out a plumber. Now you make almost six figures, and you don't have to live somewhere expensive either. You can take those classes at night if you have a job. Or you can get a commercial driving license and become a trucker even faster. Don't sign up to become a zogbot.
>>2397214Wherever your friends and loved ones are
>>2398442>bro just go to collegeFuck offff
>>2398444I was talking about becoming a plumber you mongoloid. I never dreamed you would be smart enough to benefit in any way from enrolling in a real college. The truth is you'll never make it, because you're a bitter little faggot. The world doesn't owe you a goddamn thing. That's a commie mindset. Grow a pair. Become a man. Make something of yourself.
>>2398450I have no clue how you derived any of this Anon. You keep making weird assumptions.
how do you even pick a city to go to? every city just seems awful. but I can't move anywhere rural yetHoly fuck being born an urbanite sucks
>>2397946The DFW area is massive and has plenty of nice areas for wealthy people. Lots to do.
>>2397736>fucked taylor swiftlol so what she's a skinny titless 6/10 caked in makeup
>>2397300I'd avoid the immediate area around Denver unless you're a city fag who has to live in the hustle and bustle. There are some nice spots in Arvada or Castle Rock that are like 30 min from downtown Denver and not quite as expensive. Denver is way overpriced because everyone moves there from the Midwest to be close to skiing. A middling starter home that needs work is $500k in most of Denver, $600k in the nice areas.
>>2397736taylor swift said she lost her virginity to jake gyllenhal actually
>>2398632She's not hot
>>2398429I moved to Pittsburgh recently.Pros:>beautiful skyline and scenery>cool neighborhoods that have different feels>lots of green spaces/parks>sort of underrated although the yuppy culture is starting to creep in>really fucking safe in most areas. if you arent a total clueless dumbass you arent getting robbed or hurt here>lots of cool day trips within driving distance>good city for biking and drivers are not bad compared to other places>housing is dirt cheap for the value like seriously buy a house hereCons:>winter sucks and Pittsburgh is the greyest city in the US, more cloudy days than even Seattle, so winter you will be depressed>mass transit fucking sucks and theres no usable train system and it can take 20 minutes to drive even 3 miles because of the windy roads/topography. not to mention potholes everywhere>townies have a provincial mindset and have never left pennsylvania. worship shit tier things like primanti bros which is inedible>economy is based on health/tech monopolies>pennsylvania governement is one of the worst in the nation for getting anything done. see: minimum wage still $7.25/hr>people here are not attractive on average and anyone worth seriously dating is with their high-school sweetheart>its a city but not a big city. meaning there are at least 1-2 excellent restaurants in each category but if you like to constantly try new things this is not NYC or chicago, so hope you somewhat like routineCould go either way depending:>within the city limits is pretty woke liberal, immediately outside is Trump country>it is so white here. even the black people are white and there's no good soul food or BBQ to speak of. >about 10 Hispanics total but a good amount of Asians. if you like good latin food or culture youre fuckedOverall if you're looking to settle somewhere long term for a quiet city life with a significant other this is probably the best place in the US right now. If you are young and single maybe maybe not
>>2399042forgot to mention the downtown core of Pittsburgh is absolutely a crackhead no-go zone but almost every other neighborhood is extremely safe and livable. I don't think most people would care but if having a dream downtown is important to you dont come here
>>2398663She cradle robbed him when he was in high school and she was in her 20's, I never said she lost her virginity to him. There's pictures of them all over the internet. It was kind of weird actually but chad is chad I guess. Meanwhile foids will judge you for hitting on a coed at 27. >>2398686That isn't hot but the gook whores posted constantly on this board are 10/10s. Ok.
>>2397946Highland Park is one of the wealthiest areas in the country. Uptown is quite nice for a young person but is getting more and more run down.
>>2399049>>2399042Dang. I'm >>2397217 thanks for the reply though
>>2397390DC here too.Upsides:>epidemic of lonely successful womenthis city is the epitome of successful women who chose career and are now lonely and desperate for dick>walkable city with a small town feelthe metro is a lot cleaner than NYC and other subways, and there are plenty of busses and sidewalks everywhere, green spaces and pedestrian areas. some are filled with homeless tents but not too bad. the height limit means no skyscrapers besides virginia, so it feels like an upscale small town though NE/SE DC are the ghetto but you'd hardly ever need to go there>cream of the crop type of peoplebesides the inner city people who have been here for generations, you'll see the men and women from other parts of the country/world all have great spook (((consultant))) jobs and all seem to be /fit/ (because it's so walkable, everyone goes out jogging/cycling). if you are a high value man you'll have a good chance finding someone high value. truly.>always something going onthis place has been pretty crazy for the past couple of years with 1/6, BLM, and numerous political events. it's always pretty entertaining. you have all types of political groups coming here. otherwise, there are a lot of museums, music events, holiday markets etc.>beautifulthe city was originally designed after Paris and there are a lot of white marble neoclassical buildings. especially the washington monument and capitol building which is always a pleasure to have in the background. the city is especially beautiful in the spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. it complements the buildings nicely and the sidewalks get covered in pink & white pedals. good for date nights. one of the prettiest towns in the country.>opportunitiesi moved here for university and there are a lot of opportunities, especially if you want to be a contractor and work for/with the gov. i have a remote contract job in my field and the pay is greatDownsides (to be continued)
>>2399450>high crimebut safe in the sense that it is a highly monitored fed district. there are ghetto areas right next to rich areas which is bizarre and there are crackheads and gangbangers lurking about. just don't talk or make eye contact. if you have a car, your tires will probably get stolen and parking is ridiculous.>boring/sterileit's definitely a lot slower than other cities & doesn't really have a culture besides overt neoliberalism unless you're black, in that case you'll have a great time>weatherswamp ass weather from may to october. otherwise it's pretty nice & mild. all 4 seasons.>cost of livingit can be a little expensive but it's definitely not as expensive as nyc/sf/la. you'll probably get paid more anyway for the cost of living.
>>2399450Grew up in nova and lived in Capitol Hill for 3 years at one of those consulting jobs. I might have a tainted view, but DC is not great after the novelty wears off. Because the job market is centered around the gov, you get a very uniform population and a lot of boring types who’s idea of living is brunch every weekend. You will have to deal with dating extreme liberal types but if you’re chad enough it’s not hard to convert them slowly since women don’t really have strong values. Cap hill, Georgetown and the mall are gorgeous. Weather is shit. Nigger fatigue will set in fast. Traffic is shit. After my stint in DC, I’ve lived alot of other places. I’m in San Diego right now and it’s probably the best spot for alot of reasons, but you need to have money.
>>2399503>Grew up in nova and lived in Capitol Hill for 3 years at one of those consulting jobs. I might have a tainted viewReminds me of one of the "Trv rules/laws" from the old days of the board, bygone years. To paraphrase:"When someone asks about any location, in short order a local will respond with how shit it is " kek
>>2399446nobody cares about your "deep" and "insightful" phone notepad ramblings. keep that shit to yourself.
>>2399503I have a lifelong friend who ended up in one of these consulting gigs after college in DC. Used to visit him every once in awhile. This guy's spitting facts. The thing others have said about it it being full of mid-20's career women desperate for dick is also true. Anecdotally, I made out with a girl at a party my freshman year of college, but she wouldn't give me a chance. Now she's parading a guy who's uglier than me around on Instagram. They don't want to date "beneath" them, they want a professional guy. But the pool of acceptable men willing to text them back the morning after is slim pickings.
>>2399590It's worth noting that consulting is a very large field. There is a big gulf between someone working for MBB and someone who's a contractor for Booz.
>>2399595That's true. My friend was a footsoldier at some no-name political consulting shop, but he graduated from Brown, so he was still well-connected. And I knew some people from my own alma mater, though the really successful consulting guys ended up in New York, though now they're all over the place since the pandemic, working remotely. I wouldn't mind being a partner at a place like Oliver Wyman though. All of these places make a killing off the back of the federal government, since the country's bureaucracy is full incompetent, lazy vermin given political jobs, who cannot be fired. In a way, they serve as a means for the transfer of wealth to the well-connected upper class, justifying the expensive price tags of schools like Andover and Dartmouth, who gatekeep these institutions. DC is where the all the nerds who grew up watching the West Wing and Gilmore Girls end up. They dream of power and fame, not necessarily wealth. Think of all the faggots that joined the College Democrats. That's them. New York people are way cooler.
>NYC>Chicago>DC>San DiegoI'd say maybe a town in the PNW but shit's getting wacky up there
>>2399998>shit's getting wacky up thereHow so
>>2397725This thread is about the best places for a well-off young guy, not young guys who intend to work a construction job
>>2397217Go find a warehouse job. Tons of places are starting at $20+ per hour these days.
>>2397214>What are the best places for a well-off young guy to live in America?if you are interested in finding a gf or fucking girls? NYC. there's no other option really.
>>2400685What part of NYC? And how much would you say is well-off enough that it benefits one's sex life?
>>2397214San Jose if you want urban excitement. The cascades if you want rural escape.
>>2400708Brit talking by the way. I've been to america other than eating apple pie for dinner
>>2400708>urban excitement>San Jose incredibly strange person you are
>>2400128Fuckton of homeless, rampant drug addiction (was always a problem in the region), California-levels of traffic, and high COL. Western Washington used to be a nice and relatively quite place. Now it's a shit hole thanks to all the California refugees and the tech transplants. Eastern Washington is still nice for now, but how long is that going to last? Despite making a decent salary and having $100k in savings and securities I can't even afford to buy a decent house in this area. t. Seattleite
>>2402664We can't all live like monks. I just made a career switch and I'm still in the process of padding my resume so that I can move somewhere quieter with a lower COL and where I actually afford to by a house that wasn't previously used as a meth lab.
>>2402664hookers aren't a waste of money THOUGH
>>2402710Keep telling me how I know that you're a NEET who never earned a paycheck in their life. FYI hookers are not one of my vices. WA girls cap out around 6/10 and aren't worth the rates they're advertising.
>>2399595I get your point, but Booz was a poor example to use. Being DMV homegrown, they carry prestige in the area, and the government sector at large. Hell, their revenue is higher than Bain. Though Booz is technically a consultant company, they move more like a government contractor.
>>2397300>goal is to join the guard in a sof unit and finish college and bang women and neet otherwise.based and same it'll take me like 2 years to train running enough to pass selection tho>>2397382NG candidates have a significantly higher pass rate than AD and there's a bunch of other advantages, plus if you don't like it once you're there it's pretty easy to transfer.
>>2397260>>2397681This. Having lived in Cali, Colorado, and Washington, I'll say the best places to live are Bellevue WA, Santa Monica, and Newport Beach. Colorado is a bag of shit, I lived in Highlands Ranch for a decade, wanted to kill myself. Bunch of assholes with nothing going for them. >"Dude we got SKIING! We have such a cool city with BARCADES!"Fuck that, Denver is 1,000 miles away from anything good. The Rockies are dope no doubt, but the Cascades suffice well enough. Seattle has so much more to offer, and the summers here are elite. No other place beats Chelan in the summer. Cali is 90% shit, but when you are driving with the top down in Santa Monica picking up floosies wearing designer you realize there isn't much more to want out of a 1st world country.>>2397725>>2397736I don't see these as negatives. >"I'm surrounded by 6'5 chads and 10/10 women! Whatever will I do?"Sure you have competition but fuck em. Rise to their challenge and become better. I'd rather be mid level with elites than the top of the wagies.
>>2397214>What are the best places for a well-off young guy to live in America?literally any rich place is good, all depends on what you like.for rich people life is fun anywhere you like city life? NYC is obviously the place to beyou like glitz and glamour? LA is the place to be, anywhere along the water is beautiful and has plenty of amenities for the rich.you are an intellectual or work in tech? SF is the place to be easily. So many beautiful places in SF it's hard to name one. what if you want to get away from the cities?Hawaii is beautiful, live on Maui for a bit! The opportunities are endless for the wealthy, really the only winning move is to... try it all.Live in LA, SF, NYC, Florida, Hawaii, Texas, and wherever else you fancy for a bit. Try places out and see what they are like.
>>2397214>What are the best places for a well-off young guy to live in America?Winter - Eagle County, COElse - Maui County, HINew York Pied-à-terre for broadway visits/season
>>2403268>Sure you have competition but fuck em. Rise to their challenge and become better. I'd rather be mid level with elites than the top of the wagies. Those are some pretty words, but you can't delude yourself either. This kid pulled a fire alarm his freshman year just to show that he could. The Harvard rugby team is banned from Portugal because he and his bros decided to trash the entire floor of a hotel one night. If I did half the shit he did, I'd have been expelled. I'd probably be in jail. Do you know that the US has more income inequality now than France did right before their revolution? They're the lords, we're the peasants. Our society does a good job of hiding that distinction because we're not as simple as our ancestors, but women know the score. Why do you think foreign men get treated like kings when they touch down in some shithole like the Philippines? When you're in a community with these guys and competing with them for poon, it ruins everything. Every mid girl that gives you a chance will act like she's God's gift to you. She's made it to the school of her dreams and now she's waiting for her prince charming. But she got pumped and dumped. She's waiting for one of these guys to come to their senses and realize how special she is, and if she settles for you, it'll be out of desperation. There's a resentment and entitlement that you wouldn't have to deal with if you just married your high school sweetheart before you left your shithole hometown.
>>2403268Denver is worth it because it has the highest concentration of non fat women in the US.
>>2403572Because they can't breathe there
>>2397214How well off? If you’re truly rich, you can have a good life wherever you choose. New York City is great if you’re loaded. But perhaps you don’t like cities and would prefer an enormous vanity ranch in Montana or Wyoming. It’s nice to be rich in several parts of California, too; I say that from a bit of personal experience, although I wasn’t anywhere near as rich as they get there.Personally, if I had bottomless money I don’t know if I would live in the USA at all; I would really enjoy being a USD multimillionaire in Spain or Portugal.
>>2397214Anywhere city where the gender ratio is in favour of women but you still earn more than them. I have a suspicion Colarado, Montana and Dallas type places are sausage fests due to tech workers.
>>2399042>>people here are not attractive on average and anyone worth seriously dating is with their high-school sweetheartRaised in Ohio and its the same there haha
>>2397512Women outnumber men 3:1. Polymorous relationships are also becoming increasingly normalized here. You can have multiple girlfriends and none of them will mind
>>2398686you do realize that she still has makeup on here and "no makeup" is a specific makeup look, yes?that being said she isn't horrific
>>2403852Yeah, the catch is that the only ones who are ok with it want to be poly themselves and fuck other dudes. Gross
>>2403554Yeah it's pretty frustrating to deal with these baby-elite types. I think the most frustrating thing about it is that you can go make money for yourself, but you'll never have the connections and special treatment that they get even if their wealth is only middle-class tier. And if you make a single mistake, your entire position in life blows up. Napoleon and Richard Nixon described similar things in their careers and it made me sympathize with them a lot while reading their biographies.
>>2403852>Women outnumber men 3:1Wtf no way it's actually that bad. I'd believe 1.5:1 but not 3:1.
Is Orlando any good? I'm in Florida now and it seems like a good place in terms of jobs, stuff to do, and perving on college chicks.
>>2403852>>24041063:1 does feel high. Women definitely outnumber men here. Then if you factor in the high gay population, the highest percentage in the nation, and the relative minority of "high value men", it's easy pickings for a man like the self-described OP.
>>2404276Fuck. I've applied to a few political-type jobs but clearly not enough. Finally a reason to regret changing my major from poli sci to finance.
>>2404287You don't need to have majored in poli sci for those jobs. All sorts of people wind up in them. The first thing they tell you at campus recruitment events for consulting gigs is to apply no matter what your major is. They'll teach you whatever it is you need to know in order to succeed. The college degree is just there to make sure you can zip up your khakis without getting your dick caught in the fly.
>>2404314You sound like you have some experience with this field. Would my industry-finance and data analytics skills translate well to whatever the D.C.-style consultants do? Couldn't justify dropping my whole career to chase girls but if it can be made to work it sounds like an interesting change of pace.
>>2404105>Napoleon and Richard Nixon described similar things in their careers and it made me sympathize with them a lot while reading their biographiesThat sounds pretty interesting, of those two which would you recommend reading?
I thought Washington DC was pretty dangerous?Isn't the crime rate there really high? Not that I particularly mind high crime rate, I've lived in Oakland and LA before. It's just that such things make a city feel like a really shitty place to live.
>>2404438Conrad Black's Nixon biography is great. There are several good Napoleon biographies and which one you read depends on whether you're more interested in Napoleon the man, the general, or the politician, and how much reading you're up for.
>>2404438>>2404495Whatever biography of Nixon you read, you have to skip the pozzed Watergate coverage. The Watergate break-in was staged by the CIA as a way to get rid of Nixon, it was meant to fail. This is because Nixon wouldn't let the Bush family and powerful oil interests and war hawks in the national defense establishment have their way with the country. It's all covered by Family of Secrets, written by Russ Baker. It's not schizo boomer qtard bullshit either. It's well-sourced, and published by Bloomsbury Press. Nixon was the last decent president we've ever had. An American hero, really.
>>2404508Conrad Black is actually 'pilled on Watergate. He says that had the senate actually judged the things he was accused of in his articles of impeachment he would have been acquitted.
>>2404441DC is really bad. The only nice neighborhood is Georgetown and Georgetown is VERY expensive. I lived outside of DC for most of my life and spent countless hours in the city. I have seen more insane crime in DC than in every other place in the US combined. One time we made a wrong turn into a dead end and came face to face with a tranny holding an AK47. Ive seen stabbings, shootings, assaults, riots, robberies, police violence, car jackings, you fucking name it. DC is a terrible place to live.
>>2404287>>2404317I am not >>2404314But he is correct. It's actually very easy to get a consulting job with a finance degree, especially with data analytics. Though someone inexplicably kind of poo pooed Booz Allen Hamilton earlier, they are one of the biggest dogs, if not biggest, in the DC area due to them being homegrown and so tied in with the government. Edward Snowden worked for Booz. They don't ever have enough people for all the government contracts they have, to the point that themselves often use other firms as subcontractors on their contracts. They will pay to help you move the area. Check out openings on their website. Apply for all the names, though. Leidos, Deloitte. Hell, try Amazon. Their HQ2 is opening up here and they already have a large corporate presence in the area. Especially with AWS.>>2404744As a local, it's easy to crap on the area. As a local, it's also easy to delineate. You are thinking DC proper, when anyone coming from outside the area will be approaching it as the DC area. Lets not pretend like you only have to cross a street or bridge to be in Arlington or MoCo. To the OP, one area ripe for gentrification is The Navy Yard and a lot of young single people live and hang out there.
>>2405425>The Navy YardYou can see an episode of the Navy Yard on this show about local DC area neighborhoods. The most recent episode is on Deanwood. Ignore that one, unless you want to get in on the ground floor of gentrification of NE DC.The show is on its 3rd season so you can get a good idea of various neighborhoods in the area, albeit the focus is more on homebuying in established neighborhoods. https://www.pbs.org/show/if-you-lived-here/
>>2404441DC is incredibly segregated and the vast majority of the crime is in exactly rue neighborhoods you would think it it’s in. Most people live in nice white survives surrounding DC.>>2405425Booz isn’t bad but it doesn’t hold prestige in the way MBB does is what I was trying to say.
idk I'm a well-off young guy and I live in flyover why would I pick where to own real estate based on how easy the pussy is that's retarded
>>2405673you can live somewhere in your younger years without buying real estate or planning to settle down stupid larper
>>2397214what's your job? why not come to Argentina?
>>2404105> I think the most frustrating thing about it is that you can go make money for yourself, but you'll never have the connections and special treatment that they get even if their wealth is only middle-class tier. And if you make a single mistake, your entire position in life blows up. Napoleon and Richard Nixon described similar things in their careers and it made me sympathize with them a lot while reading their biographies.Because Napoleon and Nixon were both outsiders to the elite circles. As an outsider if you want to be let into the club, you need to ingratiate yourself and do what your betters tell you to do. Unfortunately, for these two men they walked to the beat of their own drums and they remained outsiders for their whole lives; never being afforded the protection from scrutiny that is privilege to the elite. Three establishment men do as they please, one outsider does the same, only the outsider is penalized.
>>2405715qrd on nixon and the differences with him and busht. non burger
>>2405715True. Though, Napoleon's family did ultimately become elite. It seems like it's easier to pull off if you're the child of a guy who forged his own path. Fun fact: Teddy Roosevelt's Attorney General was a direct descendent of Jerome Bonaparte.>>2405764Nixon grew up in a fairly poor Quaker household. He couldn't afford to go to an elite university, despite being accepted, so he went to a cheaper college. Then through pure talent and merit he rose through the ranks of politics and became president. He was fairly interesting politically because he was very pragmatic and open to doing things regardless of whether they'd be considered left-wing or right-wing. Bush is just an elite family with oil money that only had to recite a couple party talking-points and let money and connections get them high ranking positions.
>>2404134No one has any Orlando experience?
>>2406974I visited there for a couple of nights last year. I was somewhat surprised with how nice the city itself was. I've heard it's pretty boring though.
>>2405442>Booz isn’t bad but it doesn’t hold prestige in the way MBB does is what I was trying to say.I agree with you overall, except in DC. Due it's focus on American government and military contracting, within those sectors it's viewed as prestige. Government and military types look upon Booz most favorably, especially the latter, and government and military is the biggest sector in DC obviously.
>>2397300As a guy who lives in Arvada, CO. It’s pretty nice and a great place to start a family, but might be a little slow moving suburbia for a bachelor. I’d go with Denver if the city scene is what you’re looking for. If you’re very well off there’s always places like Golden/Boulder which are in the foorhills or somewhere like Breckinridge if you want to be in the mountains.
>>2397214One of like five coastal meme cities. If you're well off which implies a lot of money and no job for it why'd you live in America?
>>2406974>>2406974I lived in Orlando for about 2 years, and would NOT recommend it whatsoever. It's not a fun place to live. It's shit. The nice parts of Orlando are incredibly insular, and they are surrounded by abject poverty and dilapidated shitholes. Driving for many hours a week is going to be the new normal for you. That alone sinks this place substantially. The nice parts are the Doctor Philips / Windermere area, Downtown, Winter Park, and Lake Nona, and they are all on opposite sides of the city. Lake Nona is incredibly residential, Winter Park is a pretty nice college town, Downtown is pretty fun, and Doctor Philips is filled with incredibly rich people who work in media or healthcare or finance - it's fine, check out Rocco's Tacos. Outside of downtown the amenities a young professional would look for to have fun are lacking. And there aren't even that many young people in downtown.Where the city really shines is that it has a huge latin american population and they really know how to party desu. I enjoyed going to salsa / bachata events and learning to dance, then going to some dance clubs in downtown afterwards, that's really fun. Always plenty of cute girls at these events looking to meet guys. The Brazilian population is huge in Orlando and you will meet a lot of them everywhere. Not once in my entire time living in Orlando did I go to Disneyworld or Universal Studios, I guess if you are into that it might be fun, and there are some bars that cater towards employees at both parks which might have cute girls that I never checked out. It's not really a city designed to cater to people like OP, desu. There's old rich people in the Isleworth / Doctor Philips area, then there's mostly boomers in the downtown area, and you will find very little reason to go anywhere else. Really. Miami is THE best place to go for a young person who can live anywhere, and wants to live in Florida. Tampa is also great.
>>2407558Thanks for the solid reply. Could you tell me about Tampa? It's the city that I always forget about despite it being so important.
>>2407563Tampa is the definitive Florida city
>>2407563Tampa has really boomed in the last five to ten years since Vinik bought the Lightning. Tons of redevelopment projects downtown and sky rocketing housing costs.Don't go to Orlando. It's basically just UCF and the parks.
>>2407563Tampa/St Pete is the most underrated metro area in the U.S. Just a fun place to be with great weather, good jobs, and hot girls
>>2407643I'm acquaintances with an MIT grad and a Columbia grad who both moved to the area. I always wonder what was up with that.
>>2397300Fort collins is great, it's like boulder but without the assholes. Denver is a little soulless and has gotten fucked by homeless but is fun nonetheless. In general your college towns will be better than the suburban hellhole that makes up most of colorado
>>2407676>the suburban hellhole that makes up most of coloradoThat's only the front range. The rest of Colorado (well, west of the front range) is fucking amazing. Don't tell anyone.
>>2407485Wealthy area with active, fit people, nice beaches, and tons of gorgeous women
>>2404134No. Orlando has miserable weather, lots of crime, and tons of tourists. Tampa and Jacksonville are both miles better than Orlando
>>2407708I refuse to believe anybody can endorse living in Jacksonville
>>2407847Only people living in Jacksonville will say it's better than Orlando lmao
>>2407708>JacksonvilleNo thanks. I don't want to end up on /JAX/.
So what's the consensus on a good place?
>>2407859Only people with the misfortune to be born in Florida will suggest anywhere in that benighted state as worth living in.
>>2408180yeah that's why it's the fastest growing state. cope and seethe
>>2408195it's the fastest growing state because it's cheap and somewhat habitable. If california didn't have batshit insane housing prices people wouldn't be leaving. Florida is worse in almost every possible way (aside from taxes. The no income tax thing is great)
get me out of Atlanta bros
>>2397214North County San Diego CA,South Orange County CA,Bend OR,Boulder CO,Jackson WY,Bozeman MT
>>2407643Yea Tampa is the best part of Florida.
>>2397217Oil fields of Dakota or Permian Basin TX.Or just learn how to sell and live anywhere you want
>>2408597>Permian Basin, TXYou mean Odessa? Niggy, stop trolling. That area is the biggest shit hole imaginable. I lived there almost my entire life. It's just crime and racist wetbacks
>>2397217>What are the best places for a young guy with no qualifications or money to reboot his lifeI am thinking about this and I honestly am not sure what to tell you Big cities have great opportunities, but the cost of living isn't feasible, you will be stuck working a shit job and struggling to pay the rent and survivesmall cities and towns have lower rent but you will be working even worse jobs, if you go there you can truly be trapped in a poverty spiralCan I ask where you are located now? California has free college for students over 24 if your income is low (like under 30k) So you could move to California, work in some job until you quality for in-state tuition, then do REALLY well in community college (not hard at all btw) so you can go to a UC school. San Diego has really nice community colleges, so I would recommend you move somewhere in North County San Diego. When I was a student at UC berkeley, I was paid about $6000 a semester to attend school - tuition fully paid. I lived VERY comfortably, totally from government funding. This is a great deal and could save you from poverty, flinging you into upper middle class lifestyle quite quickly. if you have questions about this lemme know
>>2408658>North County San Diego.I live here, a friend of mine did this. Had a shitty 20s of dead end jobs, legal trouble, etc. Got state aid to go to school and become a teacher. Not an "upper middle class" profession but a respectable one that pays the bills. Another friend moved to Arizona, a place a lot of washed up west coasters seem to go to turn their life around, worked jobs there for a while, then got state aid to go to truck driving school. He now owns a trucking business.
>>2408664>Got state aid to go to school and become a teacher. Not an "upper middle class" profession but a respectable one that pays the bills.now imagine if he majored in CS and worked remotely for some tech company making $120k out of college. Would change his life permanently for the better. That one anon asking could do this, I think it would be the best decision he could makeDoes your friend do alright in trucking ? Does he drive his own truck or hire a driver? Seems like a great business to get into
>>2408744>Does your friend do alright in trucking ? Does he drive his own truck or hire a driver? Seems like a great business to get intoThe thing is, it's very cyclical and a difficult job to work in the best of times. Cyclical because when the economy's not doing great, truck drivers are the first to get laid off. Even if you do have work, it's very long hours (12 hour shifts aren't uncommon). You're living a gypsy life, away from home for long stretches. Hard to settle down, make friends, and find a woman that way. But it does pay well.
>>2407452>Breckinridge>The racial makeup of the town was 95.56% White, 0.37% African American, 0.33% Native American, 1.04% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 1.12% from other races, and 1.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.44% of the population.Sold.
>>2408744>now imagine if he majored in CS He was actually doing that, had a change of heart and said, you know what, I'm going to be a math teacher. He said he didn't have the appetite for hustle culture, American companies, hiring sprees followed by layoffs, and the idea of a salary for life + retirement + PTO sold him even if the pay is worse. Plus I think he got additional financial aid for being a teacher. Teachers with 10+ years of seniority in CA also make close to 100k. Anon could probably get into something IT related though, a lot of channers have above average IT skills right off the bat. >>2408744He does alright. >>2408855 He complains about the hours. He does equipment hauling so almost all jobs within a day drive but says the hours are awful, getting up at 2 AM after a weekend to do a load out because they want their shit first thing in the morning. The overhead is also very high even if you're just working by yourself. I think he's trying to get to a point where he just pays other people to work for him but isn't there yet.

But I'm also a total autist who has never been in a relationship before and can barely hold down the cushy job my dad practically gave me due to the Adderall shortage. I contemplate ending it all every day. How could this happen?
I hated Philadelphia when I was younger but it’s grown on me. It’s like a hybrid between New York and Baltimore. Pennsylvania is great state even though it seems like the Dems have completely captured it in the last 8 years or so and if you have money it can be really nice. But if I had a lot of money I’d probably split my time with somewhere in the Mountain West or just head up to New York.
>>2405882This is little known history but Nixon may have got his start in politics due to Prescott Bush, who helped bankroll Nixon's first improbable win in a heavily Democrat California district. Then he was essentially a patsy for big money until he was deemed a loose cannon and disposed of with watergate. This according to Russ Baker's book Family of Secrets.

>>2415234>There are actually not many worse places I’d recommend than Northern VirginiaYou must have stayed out in Loudin County or the far flung reaches outside of the Beltway. Anything outside of the Beltway is literal suburbia
>>2397215>JupiterThat's oddly specific. >>2407707You're right. The rent is so much higher now unless you live in Jupiter Farms now though.

>>2415214I paid 30K for two different dev bootcamps that both had great promises. I never landed any dev job, let alone for $70K. Code monkeying is a meme. I now do quant for 250K base.

New York or some young beach/mountain town obviously.
>>2418107this. it's a bizarrely stupid take when there are millions of people making solid salaries in SWE and the number of people doing quant is like 0.1x the population
>>2417871>>2418107>>2418185I think he's lying. Quant jobs are insanely coveted. Thousands of the smartest kids in all the top schools apply to them every year. You don't just waltz into one after having spent months unemployed post-graduation. You're headhunted by campus recruitment. t. ivy leaguer who knows several
>>2418230completely agree, nobody who went to a fucking bootcamp is being considered for a quant job
>>2417871It's for people who are "mathematically mature." That generally means Asians who leave high school with Calc II under their belts, and take higher-level math classes in university. They don't necessarily have to be math majors, but they're the kinds of people who did Math Olympiad in high school and take super hard math classes because it interests them. When you look at it this way, only 1% of American college students fit this criteria. It's not for retards who take "Business Calculus" and get a B+, and certainly not for whose who get scammed by not one, but TWO different bootcamps. Especially not when people with half a brain know all you need is to shit out a few projects on GH and start applying.
>>2397217the military is great if you have absolutely nothing going for you or if you don't want the burden of responsibility for your own actions (don't join reserves if you end up going down this route, it is a trap). the tough part about "rebooting" your life is unless you have a realistic baseline idea of what you want to do/will do, and means to execute on that idea wherever you run away to right away, you're hung out to dry unless you're sitting on a stack of cash (which will quickly be depleted in most states). hard to make something from absolutely nothing these days.
>>2418478>don't join reserves if you end up going down this route, it is a trapexplain?
>>2418646You don't get the same benefits as active duty and it can hinder/disrupt your civilian life
So Newport Beach, CA and Jupiter, FL seem to be the best. However, are there any other good places in the north-west, north-east or interior of the country that satisfy OP's criteria?
>>2418230All the math genius kids I knew in school (3) are now actuaries and they make like $300k-$375k
>>2420819There are probably only a few hundred quant jobs in the entire US. So the vast majority of people who are qualified aren't gonna make it. Like they said in Mad Men, "Not every little girl gets to do what they want. The world could not support that many ballerinas."But it's great work if you can get it. Pay packages can easily reach north of $500k. If you change jobs, companies will make you go on "garden leave" for like 6 months, so that you can't reveal their trading strategies to competitors. That means they pay you your full salary while you do fuck all in your apartment in Manhattan or Chicago. You get to live as a chad neet. "My company is paying me not to work because they fear my knowledge."
>>2420843>Pay packages can easily reach north of $500k.This is IN YOUR MID-20'S by the way. Imagine that.

What parts of America have the hottest women who are out of/not attending college? Very relevent for a young guy.
NYC if you want to hustle/have that experience while your young. If want to experience a big city but don't want to hustle I would unironically suggest Chicago. It's a big city at half the price of NYC. The crime stuff is mostly concentrated to specific neighborhoods you would live nowhere near.
