Anybody travel to Dubai? How was it? Any recommendations on what do and see?
>>2290560If you haven’t been, don’t go. You pay a lot to do things you can do anywhere. If you’re deadset, there’s the Burj Khalifa, Ferrari World, they have decent beaches, amusement parks, a great zoo, an amazing aquariums in the mall, and nice sporting facilities. They never tell you that you’ll be smelling shit from all the sewage trucks pumping out of the city. If you’re a rich man, you’ll have fun doing things you can probably do closer to home. If you’re on a budget, skip it.
>>2290566I kinda like checking out different cities and buildings/architectureI am from US have shit you mentioned is not fun to do here anymore because of "American Culture"
>>2290563Oh no I didn't pass the reel trvlr test by asking about Dubai
>>2290563be careful or the incel loser might make a meta thread begging jannies to ban you kek
>>2290826I’m American too. While the initial awe of rolling down the desert and a bunch of tall, skinny skinny skyscrapers showing up all of a sudden is kinda neat, the appeal doesn’t last too long. The Great Mosques in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are beautiful though.
>>2290872Should be good enough for a one time trip a little over a week though
>>2290566From what I ve seen while doing research prices seem comparable to how much you'd pay for shit in NYC
>>2290560Dubai is a literal hotel and shopping mall mega-complex. If you have the money to spend and thats your thing then fine.Otherwise look at desert excursions or other things to do outside of the city.
>>2290880That’s expensive for someone from a flyover state.
>>2290882It's not for the back packer hostel crowd that infests this board

DUBAI YOURSELF A TICKET BACK HOME
are you an instagram roastie? why the fuck would you want to go there
Dubai is like a airport mall turned into a city
>>2290880The difference being that NYC has food that isn't just chain restaurants, countless museums, and shit to do.
>>2291070>fucking mapquest as a sourcenigger please
>>2290560It's OK. A big mall for Western products, very little actual Gulf or Middle Eastern feel. Abu Dhabi is actually much more interesting as far as the UAE goes. They still have actual souks, real Arabian food, a really beautiful mosque, and you can still go see the Formula One if that's your thing. It's only about an hour drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and it's a nice one.
>>2292660Might rent a car then. What's it like driving over there
>>2291209Nyc is a filfy garbage feces and piss crime ridden shithole
>>2290560It's a lot of fun but very expensive. I went back in 2016 and it was expensive. It's probably far more expensive now. I'd only go if you have 10k to spend. That's how much I spent while I was in Dubai.
What are some tips for doing Dubai on the cheap? I can't afford to spend $10k in a week there but I could do $150/day. Airbnbs? Non-name-brand hotels? Eating fast food? Indian/south asian food?
>>2295631>Dubai on the cheap?
they have nice hookers and if ur gay its infested with big dicked black africans they are yummy
>>2293911great place to drive. huge motorways and cool views. you'll feel good driving there.
>>2290566>Poo trucksI thought that was a myth and was only a reality during a short period of time after the construction of Burj Khalifa?
>>2290566I'm sure with all their wealth they have a decent sewage system by now.
>>2290560I went there for the Christmas season in 2018, arguably peak Dubai as far as it marketing itself on the global stage. Its not very different to most large cities, except for the novelty of looking at the burj just climbing up and up and up endlessly. Its a cool place if you are just looking for cities, but the reality of everything being a mall and based around consumption comes at you fast. I reccomend Singapore if you want to experience a true "global city", although keep in mind I am bias because I lived there for 2 years.
