Okay so I moved to Japan (Tokyo) this year, been here for a couple of months now and I'm struggling with my autism.Whenever I read advice on how to meet some people and have fun in Tokyo, people tend to say "just go to a bar! you can easily talk to people there!" but I don't understand how it works. How the fuck do I just "go to a bar"? Isn't it weird as shit to go alone? How can I just have a conversation with a random person?I just want to meet some people to hang out with.
>>2124465>go to a bar! you can easily talk to people there!" but I don't understand how it works. How the fuck doI have this problem in the US lmao
>>2124465Don't go to a bar just because people told you to. You can go if you want just to see what it's like, and it's totally fine to go alone. But the kinds of people you'll meet there are more likely to be extroverted and not at all autistic. I'd recommend you just do things that you ACTUALLY LIKE, but that require you to leave your room. Like maybe TCG places or arcades. Don't expect to find someone immediately, but it will be better because when you do find someone, you'll have more to talk about. Trust me, it's better to be lonely than to be forced to interact with normies
>>2124465> How the fuck do I just "go to a bar"? Isn't it weird as shit to go alone? How can I just have a conversation with a random person?Sit down, grab a drink and tune into the chitchat. Then just wait for an appropriate moment to talk. Booze will help to open up, trust me.

>>2124465Are there still meetup.com language exchanges going on? Go to those, some Japanese people will talk to you to practice English. They will do the introductions and practice all their questions, and they’ll assume any obvious social malfunctions you make is something they misunderstand. You might meet people with the same interests as you. If you go to enough of them, you’ll see the same people and you’ll naturally feel comfortable together.

God I want to move to Japan so fucking bad but I still have like 3 years until I reasonably can.I have Japan Derangement Syndrome. I literally cannot enjoy life here in the US until I get over my stupid obsession with Japan. I don't even think going on vacation there would cure it, since I know it'll be awesome and 1-3 months there would probably just make me like it even more.

>>2124465It's really how about you behave. If you're too self-concious it'll show. If you act relaxed, people dont care.I'm aware that this can make you more nervous, but you should try. Just go and stay in the counter (I love doing that). Try to find a slow place so you feel more confortable. If he's not busy, talk to the barman. Give a good tip. Feel at home.Honestly I like that, because I enjoy drinking in peace but not in my home, so it's easy for me. I can guarantee no one ever treated me badly. I usually talk to people who do the same, if they're alone.
>>2124465立ち飲み bars are really small, so the lack of distance + the alcohol makes people want to interact more with the people around them.Granted, you will probably be approached by drunk ojisans that want to ask a foreigner a few questions, but you could see it as practice for when meeting people your age or people that you might be interested in.I live in the Kansai area and I have met most of my friends this way.
>>2124465I forgot to add that doing stuff alone in Japan does not have the same stigma as in the US. Nobody gives an absolute fuck that you are alone doing x thing. So don't be afraid to go into a bar alone, or the movies, or anything, because no one is going to care.
>>2124465>How the fuck do I just "go to a bar"? Just go>Isn't it weird as shit to go alone? Yes and no>How can I just have a conversation with a random person?IU've got no clue>I just want to meet some people to hang out with.>>2124480

Hey bros where can I buy flights to Ikeburoro and can I pay for them with my 1 yen coins?
>>2124822isn't drinking and bicyle-ing a huge no-no?
I can't wait to go back to Japan to get drunk and make temporary friends with salarymen and other bar patrons via snacks/alcohol as omiyage and shitty JLPT 3.5. A few bars I went to the first time around have closed due to COVID unfortunately, though, so I'll need to find new places. Anecdotally darts bars had the best, most chill and welcoming atmosphere of the bars I went to, not sure if there's a specific reason or if I just got lucky with my bar choices. For the guy asking how to break out into social stuff I recommend darts bars based on my very limited experience. Sex isn't what I'm looking for. It's fun, memories, and also photos of mountains since I don't have any within several hundred miles in every location I've lived.

>>2125121Makes sense, I don't know why Americans always talk about crazy overtime and the overwork problem in Japan when Japan's legislated worker protections are relatively top-tier and America doesn't have any.
>>2125122I feel like a lot of it is cultural conditioning for lack of a better term. The media usually presents Japanese overtime & whatnot as a bad thing, while in America working 50+ hour weeks is pushed as "hustling", "grinding", "getting ahead" or whatever other bullshit term. Giving a shit about worker rights is a fringe belief in the U.S.
>>2124786same anon, I don't even mind doing JET or some shit for a few years after I graduate college, I just wanna go, I hate having japanese autism
I really wanted to ride on this boat. It was going to be a ferry between Fukuoka and Busan in Korea, but since they can't do international travel very easily, they've repurposed the boat to do fun little inter-Japan trips for now.https://twitter.com/BEETLE_JF/status/1435068181790355456
>>2125163A bit on this topic, but I was curious to check out night trans and/or night cruises whenever Japan opens up as another way to travel, and just as a way to do something different. Anyone here try them out?
>>2125128In media, japan overwork is garbage busy body, sit there and do nothing work. In America, its being productive and being better than everyone else
>>2125171I personally haven't tried them but there is a guy in youtube making videos about those ferrieshttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-CWBoT-r7VijIr8YZTtzxA/featured
>>2125097Yeah exactly, there's a reason Japan and its culture is so loved across the world yet have a problem with experienced foreign workers (especially european) wanting to actually stay there for the long term. Chinese, South Korean and Vietnamese people seem to like it though, but that's not really surprising
>>2125177>America, its being productiveI’ve worked with murricans and they’re far from productive. All that talk and prancing around the office. Your average finnish guy gets the same work done in 7,5 hours average american does in 10.

Could someone please recommend top 10 places that I should see in Japan before international tourists get back?I guess I mostly mean places that will get annoyingly crowded as soon as the chink bus groups arrive.I'm already planning to see all the temples in Kyoto next month, plus I will check Osaka while I'm there. What else should I see?
>>2125036going to be? it already is. its on pause now but its nothing new
>>2125579Honestly as long as the crowds are gone, the touristy stuff is a safe bet. A lot of them are 100% worth visiting, the only problem is drowning in people, which won't be the case for you. So go do the temples in Kyoto (especially Fushimi Inari and the Gion district, Nijo castle and Byodoin also very nice imo), Asakusa in Tokyo, etc. From Kyoto you can go to Nara as well, and Osaka is tons of fun. I'd skip on visiting Osaka castle tho. While the outside of it is very pretty, the inside is completely gutted and turned into a modern museum which was a big disappointment for me. Take nice pictures from the park and move on.
>>2125361I think he's talking about in a media context. In America there are a lot of boomers in management positions ultra obsessed with having butts in seats no matter what they're actually doing. I work a white collar job and before we had Covid work from home our manager would check online statuses even after he went home and have a meltdown if you weren't online when he checked because butts in seats >>>>>>>>> actual work done or productivity 10+ hour days for white collar jobs just aren't sustainable. My team had some serious issues arise last minute with a project & I was actually working 12 hour days for 3 days & I had to just take off Thursday & Friday because I was fried mentally. A lot of people see it as impressive to say "yeah I worked 12 hours yesterday" though even when they worked for 6 and watched youtube for the other 6.

Here's a picture I took of Skytree from Sensoji. It's an infrared photo. I usually don't post my photos in these threads but they just sit on my computer forever. If I find out any of you deviantart faggots took my photo and put your gay username watermark on it your mother will die in her sleep tonight. And I will find out. I know my shit has been stolen off 4chan before by you talentless art thief creeps. I will find your userpage and post a 4chan archive link proving that you are an art thief. I, the original creator of this photo, will never ever upload this photo to deviantart.
>>2125723Wow that is pretty. IR pics are really haunting.
>>2125725I miss Japan so fucking much. Have money saved up for the next trip already.
>>2125725is that Fushimi Inari in Kyoto? I want to go back there and take some photos at night.
>>2125729Yup it is. 1st time I visited I only went to the first platform, but that bothered me and I actually had to return the second time and go all the way up. After the first platform there are way less people and it's one of the most beatiful places I've seen.
>>2125733When I went the place was so fucking crowded I decided not to walk all the way through the tori tunnel. When I got back to Tokyo someone told me that the shrine stays open all night and I could have gone back when it was dark and empty. I think I might go back to Kyoto this December and get those shots I want. Here's a shot of Takao-san in November. Not very well composed, but I don't want to upload my best photos to 4chan.
>>2125723Nice, is that a converted DSLR? I've butchered an old cheapo cam purely for s&g and photos of winter commieblocks in IR hit different.

>>2125741some of the captcha nowadays are so damn hard.
>>2125752Maybe the pics interest someone, or maybe they bring some discussion to this thread or not. I for sure would love to say way more pics in these threads.
>>2125738Yes. It's a super old Nikon D50. I paid someone on the internet to take out the IR filter and replace it with a red filter, so I can actually see what I'm taking photos of and don't need to take long exposures. Focusing is still a crapshoot, though. Here's one I took of Kinkakuji. Never got around to converting it to black and white in photoshop. I don't think it does the place justice. You really need to see it in color.
>>2125736>but I don't want to upload my best photos to 4chanWhy not? You take some beautiful shots man, I'd love to see what else you got. The only ones I'm not willing to post are the ones with me, family or friends in them, for obvious reasons.
Wonderful pics anons, great threadAnyway I got a questionWhat's the legality concerning making royalties off of YouTube/music downloads/Twitch donations/Patreon if I'm here on a student/work visa? Any anons done this before?I'm not one of those delusional retards who thinks that their Youtube will get them an artist/entertainer visa or whatever, I intend to come to here on a work or student visa, but I want to work as little as possible and make as much money off of my independent pursuits as possibleDo I just declare this with immigration under the 'Permission to engage in other activities' or whatever? Bit unsure as nobody is employing me to do these things, it's all just me
>>2124786>>2125036I'm in a very similar boat. I know that life in Japan isn't a fantasy animeland or whatever, but my country is shit and the copes in Japan are so much better than the copes hereLife is a cope lads
Have any of (you) flown into the country on one of the Haneda flights that landed really early in the morning? How did you feel the day of arrival? I've only been on Narita flights that landed at mid afternoon previously & have just grabbed dinner & a beer then turned in early to get some sleep. I was considering taking one of the morning flights since it would get me in essentially a day sooner, but economy on planes isn't exactly a great place to sleep so I'm worried about just being miserable day of arrival anyways
>>2124465>Isn't it weird as shit to go alone? Not really. It happens a lot in North America and probably even moreso in Japan where your average white collar guy or gal just wants a cold brewski after work. Just go somewhere that looks good to you, sit down for a drink and just let shit happen. Although usually I find music bars and whisky bars are best for meeting people.
>>2125772>What's the legality concerning making royalties off of YouTube/music downloads/Twitch donations/Patreon if I'm here on a student/work visa?Haven’t done before, but I would presume you would just normally keep paying taxes to your home country and just make sure you keep up with your studies in Japan? Then the money appears on your home country bank account and nobody in Japan even knows or cares about it.
>>2125736>When I went the place was so fucking crowdedThat was a huge problem for me aswell when I was in Japan, everything popular to see was massively over-crowded and it wasn't even enjoyable being at the spots. It was so crowded that people bumped into me when I stopped for a second to take a picture. What's funny is that I went to the slightly less popular spots after that and there was like 50 people at best walking around rather than hundreds if not thousands, I wish tourists would just spread out more (which obviously includes the domestic tourists aswell)
>>2125787I've been on flights arriving early in the morning (Kansai, not Haneda, but whatever), but I'm a person who just can't seem to sleep properly on planes so I'm always a wreck the first day regardless. Eat something and take a nap, and then maybe you can do something small in the evening like a simple walk in the neighborhood, but don't expect to do much. Whether you arrive in the morning or in the early afternoon you're probably gonna get similar amounts of stuff done that day, i.e. eat something and rest.
What are some lesser known but still somewhat nicely populated areas of Japan? I heard Kanazawa was good in the sense that it's similar to Kyoto but isn't packed with people and tourists.

It's like, nearly impossible to get an exemption from the Ministry of Justice, right? There is practically no information about it on the internet, let alone people discussing how they have successfully gotten one.I see some stuff on their immigration website, but nothing in English.
>>2126729I'm guessing the reason Kishida called for the quick snap election was to get as much time as possible until the next public referendum on his covid policy? >>2126847America is open to vaccinated foreign nationals. Europe has been open all summer with no issues. This goalpost shift to "muh no vax passports" isn't the reason Japan will stay closed. Can I get a visa as a self-employed English editor? Want to avoid Japanese corporate life as much as possible once I graduate.
Went to Japan twice now. Stayed in Nakano in Tokyo during my second visit and absolutely loved the vibe, ease of access to other parts of Tokyo. Thnking about staying in Koenji next time. Does anyone else have recommendations for similar places?
>>2126890There are no self-employment visas. You can be self-employed if you are married to a Japanese national.
>>2125579I genuinely think that only the meme places in Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka will get extremely crowded. Everywhere else will be the same (i.e. mostly Japanese crowds anyway). So for now just make sure to visit the most touristy places you can think of, and anywhere else you can visit another time without rushing.

>>2127064I've had friends from Japan, a few from Osaka and some from Fukuoka and Hiroshima. I remember watching imported Ghibli with them when I was younger, lived in a small old flat in Glasgow so didn't really have much back then. Felt so peaceful, it was like an escape from all the shit of day-to-day life. Dad was usually either working part time in the factories in Fife or doing cheap part-time work in Glasgow, loved Rangers. Mums life consisted of cooking and cleaning, most stereotypical Scottish woman you could meet. So, I was either on the PC or PlayStation or out at the local shops. Usually you'd get jumped if you went into the slum areas so I stuck to my area and avoided that. The area I lived in was a big restaurant hub, but also quite deprived. Mainly it was bankrupt/poor Asian chefs coming over looking for better lives, didn't want to live the rat race lifestyle. Tons of folk from Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Fuzhou showed up. Then a Japanese sushi restaurant popped up one day and I decided to go in, fond memories. The owner is a kind man, knew how shit it was but always kept on smiling. I know very basic phrases but that's about it. I know the etiquette and culture but it's the language that I struggle with. Folk here say Tokyo is English friendly but the outer-areas are not. I'm not planning on staying for years, just a few months to relax my head a bit. I could try learning the basics I suppose. UK is grim at the moment, and many are just leaving to Canada and Japan. I'm considering doing it.>>2127065What about Osaka and Sapporo?

>>2127141man if only I could go visit these places in china without having to deal with china or chinese peoplehow can a country have as much distain for their culture as china does it's baffling to me
>>2127049Unless you're going way off of even minor tourist spots, between google maps (OP google map, hint hint) and google translate you'll be perfectly fine. Hell the only time I even needed google translate was when I accidentally left my passport on a rural train. If you memorize some basic words and kanji (men/women for washrooms etc), maybe hiragana/katakana if you really want, you're already going to be well above average in comprehension.I wish I could converse with Japanese people better just on a casual social level but for navigating your way around as a tourist they're very well set up for English speakers.
>>2126040>post an image>someone saves it>complain

Also a shame pretty much everything is extinct or about to go extinct there since they want to put everything in a soup or quack doctor medicine
>>2127163>What about Osaka and Sapporo? The same, however when I was in Osaka I did have some JKs come up to me and my mum and test their English on us.Also, if you go into any type of restaurant, they'll generally have pictures that you can point to and you can point to what size you want.I managed to buy shoes from a guy who spoke 0 english simply by using my finger to indicate if I needed to go up or down a size, and then gave him a thumbs up when the perfect size was found. On the trains, for major lines they'll generally spout the next stop in English after they spout it in Japanese.Like other anons said, unless you're going to minor tourist spots, you honestly don't need Japanese, except "please" and "thank you" and remember their customs as well. I made the mistake of making myself look like an ass in a restaurant because my phone wasn't working and mum was looking for me cause she didn't know where I had disappeared to and ran outside without my shoes on.
Here's a hot tip. If you want to bang one of the JAL/ANA flight attendants book 1st class and talk to them in Japanese. They'll be eyeing you the whole flight because you'll be the one guy in their cabin who doesn't have a pot belly or grey hair.

>>2127003I and everyone else here can only guess, but based on how Japan's criminal justice system works for its own residents, I would guess that any violent or drug offense means you're right out. For white collar crime you might be able to get in if you marry a Japanese girl or something, based on what it says in the document you linked.
>>2126025I don't have any experience with it, but from what I see online it's just like the 3-month tourist one that most people get on arrival (so you can be a neet if you want) except that you need to prove that you have like $300,000 in savings and travel insurance. It lasts 6 months but can be extended to 1 year. Wouldn't it just be easier to just take flights between Korea every 3 months to automatically renew the normal visa?
>>2126025Working Holiday Visa is the only real long term visa program that exists today in any capacity. Depending on the country they will have the requirements just google "working holiday visa (country)".If you "have enough money" to never work again, it could be possible to just move to a remote city and pay peanuts level of cash to remain there under someone who needs the cash. Hell maybe live under a JET and pay them some extra side cash for a room, I remember meeting someone in Gifu who essentially did that and had been living in Japan for 5ish years. Just know if you get caught you will almost certainly be barred from re-entry.>>2127472That's what most people do
>your country doesn't have visa-less entry MoU with JapanKek why live?
>>2127472you can do that but immigration will refuse you after a couple of times
>>2127556Depends on the country and such, there really is no rule against doing something like90 in Japan90 in Korea90 in Japan90 in korea It's doable but expect to be grilled about it by possibly both countries, in 2019 I did Japan about 4 times that year though I returned to the US vs. korea for my reset. I think out of all the times I was there that year just got one guy who grilled me a bit wanting my itinerary and a check to see my hotel/hostel reservations. After that was good to go for the rest of the time.

>>2127416>wasting money Everyone should treat themselves once in their life. Sure it's a rip-off, but imagine being on your deathbed at the age of 64 and thinking "I've only ever flown economy."
>>2127638Not the guy you replied too but I'm fine with that though unless maybe I literally am on my way to my deathbed and say fuck it, even then I probably wouldn't spend 3-4X the amount for the exact same flight lol. Also hopefully I'm not at my deathbed at 64 because that's young to me, I wanna be in my 80s minimum, hopefully 90s and 100s I'm average height so economy works fine for me as long as I get the window seat so I can put a hoody on and lay my head against the wall. I take off my shoes for some extra leg room and I'm alright
>>2127574That's different. He is talking specifically about staying in Japan for 3 months, going to Korea for a weekend, returning to Japan for another 3 months etc.Your case is much more justifiable to immigration whereas the above case will get you refused and perhaps even banned in no time.

lads, is halloween in shibuya happening this year?
>>2127936I get out of quarantine on the 28th, I really don't know if it's worth risking covid especially when I start my new job in November. Maybe next year.
>>2127681You can do that as well they will just want confirmed leaving of the country on your second visitation if you have 3 months down+possible proof of funding. Though if you do the full 90 you can bounce back and forth with allowing your 180 limit to reset.
>>2127936Can anyone explain the appeal? I mean it looks like a crazy party but the crowds are so fucking insane it really doesn't seem worth it to me.
>>2127987Not that guy, but it doesn't need to make sense if you're shit-faced. Going there sober is just stress inducing though, takes like an hour to walk 50 meters at some places
>>2127936I went last year and it was awful. Shibuya was still really crowded, but no one in costume. I have no clue what this year will be like. My guess is that it will be better than last year but by what margin I don't know. >>2127987It's really the best way to meet people. Random girls would ask me for photos because they like my costume. I'd go up and ask random girls for pictures and get their Line. If they're hot I ask if they want to get a drink. I've also made some business connections hanging out with people at Shibuya. >>2127998Halloween in Shibuya is like a week long event. On Halloween day it does take an hour to cross the street, but if you go the day before Halloween or a few days before it, the crowd is still sizable but not packed, and there are just as many people in costume.

Does anyone have any updated information on the student visa situation?
>>2128286if you're a MEXT student, the government seems to be bringing them in in batches. otherwise, shit out of luck
>>2128294I see. Unfortunately, I'm not. Is there any information as to when the situation might change? I cannot find anything of note.
>>2128299No. People have been waiting since early 2020.
>>2128294Is that actually confirmed? I only see people here posting it but never saw a legit source. On the other hand, I talked to one of the people who organizes the MEXT scholarships for German students and he said that it was likely fake news as no German MEXT student has been able to enter, yet.>>2128299No new information since January this year. Today, my visa sponsor said that they think about December now but I can't imagine that that's more than guesswork on their part.>>2128176Probably JET.
TL:DR at bottomI'm interested in going to japan on a student visa doing language school.Second thing is, i want to do (continue) a smallish online retail business while there to cover some costs. I have enough saved to live in tokyo and pay for language school for 2 years, but want to keep my savings up.I already run an online business in my home country (australia). Basically i'd just start a japanese 'branch'.It would be me getting items in, then posting them when sold. I'd figure out the details of storage, postage, receiving of semi large parcels. That side is easily workable. But im more curious about How customs, tax and other legal stuff would be.I would only be aiming for pretty low income to keep lots of time free, i estimate 30k revenue and 10k profit. (order of magnitude smaller than at home)This is under any tax/GST thresholds for my home country so shouldn't have to report much to them.As far as i can tell its rank in japans taxation as 5%? But i am less sure about how japanese GST works, i believe you have to be pulling in 10m yen to start dealing with that?So theoretically, so far as i can tell at most i will have to pay is the 5% japanese income tax. But i am unsure if this is something i can/should do on a student visa.As for customs. The items are genuine, though factory extras (literally just chinks run factory beyond what is ordered by main company), so while not complete copyright issues, im not technically an authorised seller. So how strict would japanese customs be on parcels coming in from china, and if they did see what was in them, a warning, immediate fine, worse?TL:DRPlan to go to japan on student visaWant to continue small online retail business while there.Want to maximise money while potentially staying under tax thresholds etc. What is legalities of all this?Have a pic of this massive river bed in Hongu as reward
>>2128389Just realised i need to be clearer.I would actually be selling the items IN JAPAN.Too much of a clusterfuck to continue all the australian selling (my business partner will continue as we each do half the stuff, it'll just tone down while im away, he's all good with it).Have a picture of the tiny river flowing at the edge of the above massive river bed.The river gets that massive due to insane flooding when monsoons pass through (pretty sure the town has been demolished several times). That blue aint a phot exaggeration either, any time a different stream or directions of water collided, it was ocean blue.
>>2128376>Is that actually confirmed?there's only been leaked posts because MEXT students are explicitly told not to talk about it and no official confirmation is posted anywhere. Japan govt is acting like a bunch of fucking kikes and they know it
>>2128389The more important thing is that you're only allowed to work 28 hours/week on a student visa which you also need to get permission for first.
>>2128396Yeah, but this is the kind of posts I mean. Anyone can easily alter a screenshot and then claim that nobody talks about it because they're not allowed to.
>>2128389>>2128394I tried selling Japanese shit while I lived in Japan as well. Unless you have a very niche market, lots of other online shops will undercut you. If you want to sell anime crap, you'll be competing with 100s of other anime crap stores. I was spending a lot of time relisting items for very little profit. And Japan has recently changed the way international postage works. It used to be, you just write an address on a box or a letter and send it overseas. Not anymore. Now you need to open an online account, you need to specify what's in the box, and you need to declare its value, and list its weight, and if you're sending multiple things, you have to do it for every single item. And it's not like America where you can just put a vague item description and set the value to $1, the mail nazis will grill you to be more specific and force you to redo it. And it has to be tied with an email and phone number and you have to use a return address. International shipping within the last year has gotten 10x more difficult. I won't be sending any gifts to my family this year because of it.
>>2128397Yeah i did see that. But that looks like its more applicable towards getting part time work in "actual" japanese jobs though.Like if im working for myself from home, how could they even know how many hours i do? i wont be doing anywhere near 28 anyway, so not an issue really. But it just seems like it doesn't quite cover self employment in that permission dealio. Thanks for that though. I assume if im going to have to do income tax at some point, then i will likely have to do this paperwork or something very similar beforehand.>>2128424Nah not selling japanese stuff. Selling stuff i already sell, but in japan. They are a definitely a worldwide used/bought, semi luxury item.We have got a decent handful of buyers from japan even though postage to there is pretty fuckin slow. So i know there is at least a pretty good market and from further research have "confirmed" this (you know, as much as one can before actually trying).I do very much appreciate that info though, as separately from the business side i probably will deal with posting a bit of stuff home. though might be more like freight for that stuff (bike parts dad, car parts for friend)

>>2128539Yes I lost my virginity there. I posted my experience in the older thread. My 2 Japanese friends took me there just to see what it's about. Half the girls there do not allow foreigners and the other half are ok with it. The girls there are the highest in terms of attractiveness compared to other red light areas in Japan. But expect to pay insane amounts. (42000 yen per hour)I would say almost all the girls there I saw are 9/10. Some are genuine 10's I had no intention of actually going through with doing the service. However one of the girls waved at me with a really big smile so me and my friends approached. She was a 9/10 on looks. When she showed us the menu I was talking to my friends in English and surprisingly she understood everything we were saying and spoke fairly good English. Noticing this extremely rare opportunity I took it. I did the 15 min service. (keep in mind every tobita shinchi stall is full service) Coomed in about 6 min. With some time to spare I asked her how she learned English and she said she did a working holiday in Canada for 1 year. After the service she brings a lolipop and tea. My recommendations: Wear nice clothesDon't wear really thick glasses (people assume you're recording)Don't bring your bag (people hide their camera) Bring a Japanese friend

>>2128602>>>>>insiderOh cool so just a "hmm might happen" which everyone already kind of thinks japan would open anyways
>>2128602according to "confidential sources".in the replies, they claim that there will be good news for international students in short. so if there is a relevant announcement within the next 2 weeks, I'm willing to believe. until then it's just twitter shit.also, they say they don't know if a quarantine will be mandatory.
>>2128634>t. 4cheddit.com/r/leepikredpilleddonaldanother episode of chimps calling baboons monkeys
>>2128602I want to believeThe 3 day quarantine can fuck right off tho
>>2128602Australia when? But I still probably won't come until the quarantine requirement fucks off.
Planning my first trip to JP, how big is the pickup scene in Japan as an foreigner? I got my sights and trips pretty much fully planned otherwise, I've understood the local prostitution is native only mostly. Not a retard so I've learned to hold a conversation but native language usually doesn't matter in this scenario.6 feet, gray eyes, brown hair and a good looking nordic face with a strong jawline, never been to Asia at large but do well elsewhere.Give up or install whatever the prefered hookup app is? (Tinder?)
>>2128659I really would just give up. You end up paying higher fees to the ones that accept gaijins.
>>2128663Wondering more about thirsty locals than hookers. Cost isn't really an issue but I do prefer local hookups.
>>2128671There might be some. If you're after them then I'd probably recommend yeah whatever hookup app they use in Japan if you can hold a conversation.
>>2128602>mandatory 3 day hotel quarantinefor what purpose?
>>2128684for the purposes of pretending to do something
>>2128580Nice! It really is a lovely area. Great hikes around the mountain and i actually just decided to follow the river for a whole day which was fun.Sorry, i think i/you have exaggerated the 'learn something' part. That was just observation by me that It seemed to be extremely blue in sections where water 'collided'. As there were certainly some fairly blue sections like yours in calmer waters.I suppose this pic might give an even better idea if we were in the same spot. Its just a 180 from my first pic, blue section of river now off to my right (perhaps slightly behind too)
>>2128602>and a mandatory 3 day hotel quarantineWell I'm not going until summer either way so they better remove that shit by then. Also, if you sometimes can't see Corona symptoms for roughly 2 weeks.. then why the fuck even bother with a 3 day quarantine? You might aswell go with none since 3 days doesn't matter
>>2128659>pickup scene2010 called, they want their meme internet community back
>>2128707to make themselves feel better idk, it's all fucking retarded
>>2128602Antivaxx chuds btfoed
>>2128822>still needing PCR and quarantine even if you're vaccinatedI'd say everyone has been btfoed
>>2128602Please be true, I can't get an erection with non-Japanese women so I haven't had sex for over a year now.
>>2128707Imagine they still doesn't change the quarantine requirement by then and you have to spend 3 days cooped up in Japanese sweltering summer days. Imagine
/jpg/: JAPAN PLEASE OPEN UP PLEASE I BEG YOU I WILL DO ANYTHING, I WILL FUCKING DIE IF I DON'T GO TO JAPAN SOONJapan: okay we will open with 3 days quarantine/jpg/: NOOOOOOO HOW CAN I SURVIVE THAT
>>2128707>why the fuck even bother with a 3 day quarantine?because everyone wants to pretend that they're fighting the virus but no one wants to take any actual precautions against it because it's bad for business. Why do they take your wrist temperature and not your core body temperature? Why do people wear masks and not ventilators? Why do they have filthy plastic screens everywhere? Why do they have arrows on the floor and doors closed off to prevent entry? Because it looks good. No basis in actual science-- but who will ever notice? My company does temperature checks and has a policy to send workers home if they have a fever. But if my temperature is too high they just pretend like it's ok and force me to work anyway. My company also claims to not allow sick people in the building, but if someone has whooping cough and is hacking up a lung, everyone claims they can't fucking hear it. Then they think they can force me to get a clot shot that kills six people for every one person saved. Hahaha.
>>2128928>a clot shot that kills six people for every one person savedmuh 6 gorillion
>>2128924Most working people only travel for 14 days, which means you're forced to sit in your room for ~20% of your vacation.. and that's for no reason at all because 3 days doesn't even help to spot symptoms (according to their own science). That's mostly why people are mad, but yeah people going for longer than a month should be somewhat happy at least
I'm sure this has been talked about to death, but what's the best place to look for non-ALT jobs from out of the country? I do generalized IT work, but I imagine most technology positions over there are either software development or ultra specialized.
>>2128924Yes let's spend 3 days in quarantine ding fuckall just because the government is actually retarded but wants to look like it's doing something.3 days won't help with the virus at all but it will fuck over people visiting. Most people only spend a week or 2 max on vacation. 3 days is a giant portion of that.
I need to figure out how to bypass the Cisco VPN's location monitor on my work laptop. I wouldn't give much of a shit about needing to quarantine for a couple days if I didn't have to take the time off for it.
>>2128602>europoors get in before japan's best allyfuck this gay earth, let NK nuke that island for this betrayal
No doubt Canadabros will be the first countries allowed in
>>2128539>>2128558There's also more than just tobita shinchi, and sometimes the girls are more lenient when it's raining or if business has been otherwise slow. Matsushima Shinchi is better bang for your buck, you might still find a JAV-tier girl next door type as opposed to the literal models in Tobita
>>2129095Even if that is real its possible his french "informat" only knows about european countries
>>2127472>>2126025The three month thing might be sketchyFirst time I did it no problem, second time I got grilled by the immigration guy about every minutiae on my passport while he was holding itI was doing an internship paid under the table but didn't mention itI'm white
>>2126267>what's stopping them from just making trips when no one is looking?Radar? They need to transpond their location at all times
>>2125711>>2125713>>2125721Based FinanonPrice seems about correct for a 2 week trip
>>2129049>3 days won't help with the virus at all but it will fuck over people visiting. Most people only spend a week or 2 max on vacation. 3 days is a giant portion of that.So then you plan around that 3 days. The Jap govt. is paying for the quarantine hotel, just don't fucking get the coof and you'll be dandy.>take a 3 day longer tripIt's that fucking easy
>>2129169>be American>have limited vacation days that "accrue" and need to be approved by bossmanNo, it's not that fucking easy if you're an Amerimutt
>>2129169Some of us have jobs you NEET.
>>2129169>take a 3 day longer trip>It's that fucking easy
>>2129171>americans are the only people who have to ask management for vacationsWhy are you all up your own ass so much?
I'm in Japan get rekt webbs
Ausbros we can go to Japan from December 19th.
>>2129283Qantas is resuming flights from Sydney to Tokyo on Dec 19th
>>2129286Doesn't mean anything. Airlines resuming flights only means that they either have to keep that slot at the airport open, or that there are some people that need to fly that service. For tourists it's meaningless.
>>2129261Fuck off we're full
>>2129291I'm coming but not for a while. Dunno why Nips were so interested in my accent though last time I went.
>>2129078Put your Cisco VPN through a US VPN. You can use a raspi as a VPN gateway if your employer has your machine locked down and you can't install another VPN.
>>2129286There have been flights from and to almost all countries the entire pandemic lolDoesn't mean anything
>>2129346Let me cope
>>2129169>The Jap govt. is paying for the quarantine hotelI REALLY doubt they will be paying for the quarantine of fucking tourists, lmao. they only paid it so far because it was only for citizens/residents
>>2129302Fuck off we're full you fucking webb.Pic is the lunch i just enjoyed IN JAPAN WHICH YOU CAN'T COME TO.
Any British pubs in Tokyo worth going to? I like footy and hockey.
>>2129368I'll bring a Chiko Roll
>>2129078Based FSN chad, i hope you figure it out so you can go see "fuyuki" undisturbed
>>2128602Actualy could be a good devilish deal. If burgers and Chinese aren't allowed, and that 3 days quarantine makes people not want to go, then it means I can enjoy an almost tourist-free Japan. Makes the 3 days quarantine worth it. But I really don't want to have to use a mask everywhere, it's such a joykill.
>>2129521>But I really don't want to have to use a mask everywhere, it's such a joykill. This is what's stopping me from traveling anywhere. Who the fucks wants to spend thousands of dollars just to feel locked down somewhere else. Especially on the plane. Plane rides are uncomfortable enough as it is.
>>2129546>>2129521even the most autistic parts of europe only required masks on public transit, surely that isn't too bad of a trade-off for a perfect tourism season?
>>2129521So stop stressing about going? It's Japan, they won't remove mask mandates anytime soon
>>2129552Well that's not too bad but I've already traveled around a lot of Europe and most of my interest lies in Asia now which is fucked in all the countries I have any interest in.
>>2129337Thanks for the advice. I'll probably try the raspi route since even though I have admin credentials on my device, they might throw a fit if I do install another VPN>>2129411I really liked Kobe when I visited. Some guy I talked to at a bar in Osaka recommended skipping it so I ended up spending less time there than I originally planned. I want to at least check out the Sake breweries whenever I can make it out again + go check out the church in Nagasaki
>>2129368>Fuck off we're full you fucking webb. Not in a few years when all the elders drop dead
>>2129559>they won't remove mask mandates anytime soonthere are hardly any "mask mandates" in Japan, only some shops explicitly require you to wear a mask. people just wear them anyway due to social pressure.it will take the government explicitly saying "ok guys NO NEED FOR MASKS ANY MORE" for people to stop wearing them, and that's not happening

Is there any followup on the super secret frenchmen info?
Does anyone know when is the best time to go to Shibuya for Halloween? The day of (Sunday) or perhaps the Friday/Saturday just before? Not sure what the tradition is
>>2130265Saturday is usually the day.
>>2129171Ahahhahahah.Thank the fuck I own my business and can take my vacations whenever I fucking please.
>>2130302What does your business do?
>>2130304None of your business.Top kek, man im funny.
>>2130304Sucking dicks. Lots of dicks.
>>2129169>ask boss if I could work from the quarantine>sure boy enjoy your trip>use up all my vacation, 5 weeks in total after the quarantineFeels so good to be European
lads why is rotisserie chicken so expensive in japan
>>2130265last year I went to Shibuya on Halloween night, a Saturday. Usually it's jam packed so much you can't move. But last year, Halloween night, it was dead. There were still lots of people, but just shoppers and business men. No costumes. No parties. I have no idea what it will be like this year. Will it be normal again? Will it be dead again? Will it be somewhere between the two? Something tells me corona is going to ruin another Halloween.
>>2130439bars are reopening full time from next week in Tokyo, so people will be fucking starved for all-night parties.I expect there to be tons of parties, but maybe not in Shibuya as they might want to spread people out
>>2126998ah Japan, where the top 3 "hobbies" are eating, sleeping and taking a bath
>>2130220They say short-term business visas in November and student visas by the end of the year.
>>2130518confirmed by my dad who works at NIntendo.
>>2130522I didn't say anything about whether it's legit or not, just translating because Americans can't even read French.
>>2130460honestly pretty basedgood food, nice views, comfy bath is kino and boomerpilled
>>2130518That sounds like a good first step, but what about the incel tourists like myself?
>>2130713based on the french leak mid-January. Probably mid-March at the absolute latest would be my guess. If Japan still closed going into April we're in the worst case doomer scenario of travel being locked off for several years
