Reminder that Florida is open and welcoming travelers.
Our govern is a chad and the cartels and police keep chimp outs to a minimum.
Mask mandates are ignored everywhere except for Miami-Dade county.
Come visit Florida.
>>
I went to Universal Studios last year when they first opened back up and everybody was still scared of the coof numbers in Florida. No crowds, seating available at any restaurant I wanted, great deals on hotels, etc. One of the best mini vacations I've had. Seems the cat is out of the bag now though. How's the state tourism levels outside the theme parks?
>>
>>1987916
Below average but that's 100x better then everywhere else.

Spring break was mostly locals.

I'm more afraid of the hurricanes then your shitty flu.
Stay in your cuckshead yank.

I moved to Florida around 2 months ago and I seriously could not be happier here. I’ve lived a lot of places and it’s seriously unbelievable how hard Florida blows them out of the water. I don’t think I’ll ever move out of the state. Yanks and “people” scared of Covid stay out.

Hurricane season starts in June.
Make sure you get your prep done ahead of time.
Shutters, flashlights, a generator, 5 gallons of gas, 2 weeks of canned food and water, and a weapon. Don't be one of those fags calling 911 during the storm.

I’ve spent most of my life on the east coast. Been through some hurricanes. Most times it’s just a reason to get drunk while it goes through. Maybe Florida’s worse though. Lovebugs are not much of a problem in the cities but they are a problem out in the country.

Sometimes we get 0 hurricanes, sometimes 5+ make landfall.
Last season we had a Cat 5 stop a few miles from land, stand perfectly still for hours, then go right up the coast.
Always be prepared for the worst.

I'm just talking about the recent BLM shit.
When BLM started up see any looting like in yank land down in south Miami? Hialeah?
A crowd formed over at Sawgrass and police made them fuck off. The mall remains unlooted.

I have to use a week of leave by July, and I want to go somewhere and get drunk, maybe score blow if I can do it without getting ripped off, and fuck women. Where should i go? Keys are a little too steep for what I want to pay for a hotel. Thinking maybe Daytona Beach, but I'm open to suggestions.

Yes and no. It's 100% dependent on the area.
DeSantis is not enforcing anything state wide and is openly against restrictions but local democrat city mayors are still enforcing covid rules.

Miami-Dade and Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando are requiring masks.
Other parts of the state like Lakeland you can walk around without a mask and nobody says shit.

It's still better than anywhere north of us.
Disney is open.
All the restaurants and bars are open. (put on mask, walk in, sit down, take off mask lol)
Shops are open.
Come down and visit.

>Daytona Beach
Daytona is good. Has a lot of rednecks.
Boynton and Delray are nice as well.
Jupiter is really nice and doesn't get a lot of attention.

I don't know about the drugs but All the beaches are open.

No, see the Cubans and Latins took over south Miami and Hialeah from the whites, 40+ years ago.
Now they are as far south as homestead and they are pushing north into black territory.
They gentrified big parts of Coral Gables and the whites moved back in.
The blacks are getting pushed into liberal land Fort Lauderdale.

That's why Florida flipped for trump.
All the Latins love him and they along with a new wave of rich hipster whites took over major democrat strongholds.

Florida politics is fun.
>>
I'm moving to Miami at the end of May. I'm from TX and I'm racist AF so I come in peace.

Gf is looking at places in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove...are those decent? We're flying down in a couple weeks to look at apartments and it looks like the housing market is pretty wild right now.

But having said all that we really do care a lot less about race here than most of the country.

Not a redneck, but I want to party. I"ver heard of those other three places, but Daytona has the most brand recognition. Normally, I'd go somewhere international, but my shithole state New York has a quarantine rule for international travelers still that I'd rather not fuck with for a week or two trip. I'm not someone that's going to throw a stink about covid rules, but I'd rather not have them exist to begin with. My other option I was thinking of was Tampa if for no reason other than its easy to get to from my airport.

>I'm moving to Miami at the end of May. I'm from TX and I'm racist AF so I come in peace.

Why Miami? Why south Florida?
North Florida is redneck trump country.
If race is important to you, go pull out a map of Florida.
Find Opa-locka / Miami Gardens. That area, and everything north is black or Jewish/White liberal.
Everything south is Latin or mixed with gentrified white enclaves sprinkled around.

Coral Gables:
http://www.usa.com/coral-gables-fl.htm
http://www.usa.com/coral-gables-fl-population-and-races.htm

Coconut Grove:
http://www.usa.com/kendall-fl.htm
http://www.usa.com/kendall-fl-population-and-races.htm

Coral Gables is a white enclave.
Coconut Grove is old and half white half spanish.

The housing market is insane right now. If you can i'd wait 6 months. Over 2 million homes are up for foreclosure, when they hit the market prices are going to fall.

Also if you are that close to the beach expect to deal with flooding when the hurricanes come. You might need to evac. Miami always floods.
>>
>>1988093
Daytona 500, ever hear of it?
Daytona's a redneck mecca but it's still a party town and they don't give a fuck about covid.
They had biker week without any problems.
>Tampa
Tampa's great. Unfortunately they just had a massive radioactive problem 2 days ago.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/florida-tampa-bay-wastewater-radioactive-flood-b1826549.html
We still don't really know whats going on there.
It's out in the sticks but it's still a big deal if it goes into the groundwater.

If the radiation doesn't bother you go for it.
I don't really know the west cost, I've only stayed at Fort Myers Beach.
Stayed at the Outrigger a great cheap local resort. Good bar, cheap rentals on jet skis. Had a blast with the ex-gf.
>>
>>1988097
Maybe Daytona then. I also thought about Myrtle Beach and New Orleans. Already been to the latter, but I have a feeling covid restrictions are tougher in the city, even if the state's more open.

I 100% believe the virus is real. I just don't think it's a danger to anyone but the elderly or terminally sick.

We are living proof of this. I'm down in south Florida in the city. I only wear a half assed blue mask or a bandana to go into places that require it. I never caught it. Nobody I know has caught it. Nobody I know knows anybody who has died from it. Nobody is even worried about catching it except for the liberals in Fort Lauderdale.

It's just the flu.
>>
>>1988122
Here's a picture of Swedish cases, a place that never locked down. Oddly looks like something else that comes every year during the winter season....

My uncle died of COVID, but he was on monthly blood transfusions before that for things the doctors couldn't quite figure out. They put him on a ventilator and he died. My aunt also got COVID in her 70s and lived.
>>
>>1988122
I know people that have caught it, but I've been fine, and I haven't been hiding. I believe its real, but people are insane about it. I play by the rules if I go into a bar or whatever because I don't want to give whoever's working there shit. I'm not sure thought that the "lives saved" have been worth all the other damage that has been done. All the "trust the science" people scare the shit out of me.

The only good thing about this shit is wfh and that it got me into crypto. I also flew down to Mexico for most of the winter and worked remotely from there without work saying anything. But this world got a lot shittier faster than I expected, and all I can do aside from blow my brains out is try to get away with whatever I can, and hopefully fuck off to somewhere less hysterical.

Same. Those people are fucking deranged and typically don't even know anything about "the science" they claim to love and trust. Their the kind of people who will give you dirty looks or sperg out on you for not wearing a mask on a public trail where you're only near other people for 5 seconds maximum. Fucking insane.
>>
>>1988224
The vast majority of deaths in Sweden happened because the government failed to protect old people, the retirement homes didn't have any kind of precautions until much later and became fucking slaughterhouses. If it weren't for that Sweden wouldn't look so bad compared to their neighbours and the overall deaths would probably be ~90% lower, even I had a death in my family (step-dad's mother) and my family is not that big. You want to know the funny part though? When she died, we had to clean out her retirement home apartment within 2 weeks and were allowed in with a simple mask, we literally had old people walking by us as we carried furniture out.. everything about this fucking virus is so bizarre

Here in Pennsylvania, our Health Secretary took his own mother out of a nursing home just before his covid policy went into effect, forcing nursing homes to house covid-positive patients. >>
>>1987913

>>
>>1988256
There's a difference between listening to experts and researches and "trusting the science." I'll wear my mask indoors or around crowds. If I'm outside and not near people for more than several minutes at a time, there is virtually zero risk of transmission per the very experts often cited by "science" nuts. Science is a wonderful thing, but "science" is horrifically dangerous.

Well desu America counts a COVID death as anyone who died while positive. Doesn’t matter if you’re on life support thanks to cancer, if the nurse infects you with COVID and you die without once ever coughing you’re counted as a COVID fatality. Europe, namely Sweden, Germany, and some other countries only count COVID fatalities if COVID was a lead contributing cause of death, which is obviously less than 1% of all cases.

It also doesn’t help that Florida is basically a waiting room for death. Just a bunch of old people and retirees with poor health to begin with

Identical? Thanks for proving you have no idea what you’re talking about. Netherlands took a less restrictive approach, but they trust their institutions at a rate almost double of those in Belgium, which may have contributed to their compliance with strongly recommended social distancing measures. Also, kek at you thinking Belgium is more comparable to the Netherlands than Sweden is to Norway. Just fuck off m8. You know nothing.

Miami beach is the Pitsburg of our beaches.
It's the default beach everyone goes to because Miami International Airport so it's always packed and Port Miami is the largest and business port in the state, so your view of the ocean from the beach is going to be full of cargo ships waiting to dock miles off the coast.

If you want perfect white sand and clear blue water go to Destin or any beach on the emerald coast.
The sand is 99.9% pure quartz and the water is unpolluted because it's not a major shipping hub like Miami.

Florida’s median age is high, but 4 states have a higher median age (ME, NH, VR, WV) and all have lower Covid deaths per capita than FL:

Wrong again. Since DeSantis shifted the responsibility of filling out death certificates from the coroner to the individual doctors, there is zero consistency with how Florida reports covid deaths. Almost all literature suggests Florida is undercounting deaths:

Such projection. Lying to yourself this hard for what? Jealousy?
>You said an approximate number but it's not exactly that number you fucking liar that means everything you say is a lie! Caught you liar!

You know very well every rich boomer from the north comes to Florida for 6 months out of the year to escape the cold.
We have entire cities (Ocala.Leesburg,The Villages) who's entire economy is dependent on snowbirds.

They are not registered as Floridians but they still count for Florida COVID deaths if they have a heart attack while positive with COVID.

>Florida’s median age is high, but 4 states have a higher median age (ME, NH, VR, WV) and all have lower Covid deaths per capita than FL
They also did a full lockdown, destroyed there economies, did not host the fucking super bowl at the very start of all this, yada yada yada.

We are near the bottom of of that very chart you listed. Pathetic cherry picking.

>Wrong again. Since DeSantis shifted the responsibility of filling out death certificates from the coroner to the individual doctors,

Yes, because we expected this to actually be a major thing, so being able to get fast numbers at risk of over reporting was the smart thing to do. Letting the doctors write off everyone who died while positive with covid as covid death would be the right move if this thing was as deadly as everyone said it was.

When you raised the age of Floridians as a factor, it isn’t “cherry picking” to point out that the states with even more old people in them all had lower death rates. That’s called “comparison.”

You are bashing Florida on their approach regarding covid, yet all you have are weak statistics which can be easily manipulated.

Where is the real life proof to back up your claims regarding any of this? Even the CDC admitted that of all the hundreds of thousands of people dead, only 6% of them didn't have other major comorbid conditions before time of admission.

ICD coding guidelines state that covid be labeled as the primary diagnosis even if their main issue is acute-on-chronic heart/renal/respiratory failure

Despite lax guidelines regarding covid, nowhere in florida is having a dangerous strain on their acute care facilities. Also, they are building herd immunity far quicker than states like washington or California which is important to do before the next winter season.
>>

The point is to prevent spread and deaths. Only trying to avoid hospitals from getting overwhelmed is setting the bar as low as it can go.

It also means the number of people dying of covid who wouldn't be wiped out by the flu is miniscule. You think the fellow with terminal cancer was going to survive the flu? Everyone who's died of covid was already on death's door, or had pre-existing conditions that made that death possible. It's perfectly reasonable to expect those people to quarantine until they get the vax. Everything beyond that is absurd.
>>
>>1990575
Your own source says as much. It exasperates pre-existing conditions. It does not kill healthy people, like the Spanish flu for example. The CDC said 6% of people who died were otherwise healthy. In any event, the quarantine measures instituted in the West are obscene. If you're unhealthy, take the necessary precautions. For most, just stay home when you have symptoms.

Florida:
North:
Lots of beautiful parks and wilderness.
Devil's Millhopper in Gainesville is a 120-foot deep, 500-foot wide sinkhole. It's Florida's asshole.
The Emerald Coast has our best beaches. Perfect blue water and pure white sand.

Middle:
Disney,
Holy Land Experience,
Busch Gardens,
Kennedy Space Center,
all that tourist shit.

South:
Miami
Swamps
Beaches
Restaurants/Clubs/Bars/etc.
Sawgrass Mills Mall
Tootsies Cabaret/Boobie Trap
Museum of discovery and science (pic related)
Stay out of Miami Gardens/Lauderhill/Lauderdale Lakes if you are not a person of color.

Anywhere:
Stop at any of the farmers markets or roadside orange sellers and try Florida OJ. We have the best oranges in the world.

Stop and go shop at Publix. Get a sub sandwich from the deli.
The chicken tendy sub is great, not just a meme.

I don't know middle Florida to well. It's all tourist stuff. Are you doing Disney? The traffic pre-covid in Orlando was on par with New York because of Disney, and there are toll roads everywhere. There are a of arcades and kids stuff in the surrounding area. Wonderworks is pretty cool. I don't really know Tampa. I stayed at a resort there once, it was ok. Not much different from any other breach town on the east coast.
Supposedly there are a lot of Scientologists there but idk.
All I can tell ya is make sure the kids wear sunscreen and dress light. It does get hot.

Then “tourist beaches” are ass. Places like Sanibel/Captiva, or Fort DeSoto, are better in my opinion.

>Are you doing Disney?
No, hell no.
>Stop at any of the farmers markets or roadside orange sellers and try Florida OJ.
Gonna be hitting backroads as much as possible in search of goober peas and whatever else we can stumble upon
>Stop and go shop at Publix.
One of the top things on the list
Appreciate the recommendations. Never heard of wonderworks before, will have to look into that. I'd like to find some small town home town festivals or off the beaten path things like that. Will be in Tampa area most of the week so looking for shit relatively close to there if possible.

I don't know Tampa or the west coast to well but i've always wanted to go see the Salvador Dali Museum over there.
They also have the American Victory, a WW2 ship turned into a Museum.
Bush Gardens was fun if you like roller coasters. Disney rides without the prices or lines.

Thing about central Florida is it use to all just be all farm country til Disney showed up, then all the surrounding area became sideshows trying to draw tourists from Disney. If your driving on the highways you'll see plenty of billboards for "Live Gator show 2 exits ahead!", "Shoot at .50 cal! at the next exit" "Air boat rides turn right ahead!" stuff like that.

As for festivals, your best bet would just be going to city hall and asking.
I'm sure they will have stuff posted or call ahead and ask. Numbers are all on google.

Florida is a big swamp with a lot of long roads with nothing between them, it's more of a problem in the south but still, make sure your car is in good working order and don't drive with a third of a tank. If you break down it will be a long time before anyone gets to ya.
Have a safe trip!

Hard to believe someone still buys these bullshit numbers! There is no pandemic stupid!

This. I took backroads to cross the state once and my fuel light came on. Didn’t see a gas station for another 40 miles and was sweating bullets by the time i got there.

Was in Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach last week, can confirm nobody wears a mask except leftist nutjobs. Unfortunately, the thick meme is getting really bad...so many fat chicks in thongs on the beach. Day of the fattie rope can't come soon enough.

>wanted criminal
It was a misdemeanor which doesn’t carry a death sentence, especially at the hands of a police officer who can’t tell a gun from a taser.
The influx of bootlicking trumptard redditors has ruined every board on this site. /pol/ used to be almost entirely anarchists and (actual) libertarians, all of whom would have universally despised murder by cop. Now you’re all just racist trash and you flood every other board with your retarded nonsense. Go kill yourself.

Is the beach water still warm enough in Florida to swim even in the cooler months of late October November?

Depends.
For lots of northerners say yes, locals say no.
But for a lot of us locals, 50F is freezing cold.

This is why your cities are shit.

We need the tourism.
They can visit but they can't stay.

All deaths with even a whiff of covid symptoms are tested for covid. Don't believe everything you hear on the news.
We are swimming in covid tests.

florida is a lot like LA: people come here to reinvent themselves. It leads to a lot of batshit crazy people having kids they're unprepared to have and raise weird children.

for that many acres forget Miami. check out Okeechobee or Kissimmee. If you have to be near the coast, go on the west coast north of Tampa.
If you can compromise on acreage, miami is a fun city, but it's a liberal and cuban death trap.

Are you sure about that? The doctor's writing those scripts sell their wares on large billboards along I95...right next to the ones for ambulance chasers and divorce lawyers. If you pay the $100 for the office visit, I doubt they'll give a fuck about your residential status...
