Literally no one else fonds it weird.

Introducing eco-friendly concepts to kids, even in something as ironic as plastic toys, is a great start to changing attitudes and maybe saving this goddamned ecosystem before it completely collapses around us.

The idiots who whine about a "woke agenda" will be dead long before their children's children have to deal with the fallout of our actions.

I don't get this excessive marketing towards AFOLS. When I was younger I didn't care if a set was targetet at an older demographic. I liked it nonthenless. AFOLS have been into Lego long before they started designing sets specifically for them. Making this differentiation between sets for kids and AFLOS will hurt them in the long run.

It goes both ways. As a kid, I wished I was rich enough to buy Lego sets priced for adults, nowadays it's all "regular object but made of Lego" because normalfag cope says you can't buy Lego if it looks like something for a child. Now as an adult, I find enjoyment in sets more kiddy, like Ninjago and Lego city.

What do you use to sort your klocki? I cant decide between any of the hundreds of similar plastic storage units with clear shelves. Any that are better than others or to stay away from?

>>
>>9782361
>Also, do you sort by piece type or by color?
Piece type. Sorting by color is retarded because it's easier for our eyes to pick out the color we want in a pile of similar parts, than it is to pick out the part we want in a pile of similar colors.
>>

>>
>>9782361
Piece type. Also I would go for a container system that has slightly deep or tall trays because even tho I bought 4 of them the little actual trays are filled up or overflow with certain pieces.

Also I sort by piece type or similar, like all my bars go in one tray, long plates one one tray, wheels in one, tires in one, etc.

Oh solar panels are great for the environment and cheaper energy if you live in a sunny place. But these aren't solar panels. They're plastic toys in the shape of solar panels. Plastic which is polluting the Earth. Which is ironic when the toy depicts an idyllic environmental concious society.

i noticed this way before moving to europe - i love their cinema and noticed the lack of "depressive drama" or stuff like that.
Back in the 90s i loved european movies about drug addicts or other stuff that happened in dirty cities of Italy Germany or others.
Now in the 20s such movies don't exist anymore. Every european movie is about high quality life and Green grass + Blue sky even if it's about person that goes through problems in their life lol

Larger sets don't drop in price on Amazon. But then if you want a new set right away might as well get it from Lego. Ive gotten a few Star Wars sets 20% off from Amazon and I think 20% off saves more money than the points you need to redeem $5 worth of VIP points.

In USD you need $100 for $5 VIP back.
While if I buy two $50 sets with 20% off I save $20.

ABS plastic recyclable. The problem is that it takes like a thousand years or more to disintegrate (just a guess). Plastic bottles literally litter the ocean, same with plastic bags. Don't even get me started that a bunch of food stuffs are sold in non recyclable plastics, or even worse that oil, which is necessary for plastic, is being wasted on millions of archaic combustion engine personal transporation machines. Or imo another terrible source is cheap fucking knock off Chinese garbage like counterfeits or garbage "value" toys. It'd be based if we could go back to wood finished televisions and electronics.

That's what I'm saying tho, I can literally just make the backgrounds in a 3D program, and take shots of the sets with proper warm lighting, and translate that real lighting to the background and piece them together. Modern Lego is literally "put set together in a static space and make a dogshit background or white background". Modern sets don't even have good lighting or are never displayed in a way that makes me go "woah I wanna play with this!". You usually have to look at the back of the box for better shots.

they're not being included in regular sets anymore except for modulars but i think they might keep selling them separately for a longer while
the main problem with the baseplates is that they're made in a completely different factory so it's a logistic issue to include them in regular sets, but if they're being manufactured on their own and then packed and delivered directly to the warehouses as a complete separate product then the issue is gone

Baseplates being discontinued was a rumor which Lego addressed directly. They are simply changing the packaging to a more environmentally friendly alternative. Baseplates sold individually aren't going anywhere. You can Google search and find all the info you need. They may very well be removing them from sets though, that I don't know.

I dunno why they don't, they add a lot of perceived size to a set so could be a good way to counteract the perception about the pricing at the moment, like that new friends wildlife set could totally shrink the tree build, drop the little jeep entirely, have a plate with a hill on one side and seem way way bigger with probably minimal change in pricing.

Can we start talking about the 3rd round of the Bricklink Designer program? I have some thoughts on pic related. I'm not sold on Space Troopers - I'm a huge Lego Space nerd and this just kinda misses the mark. It feels like it really wants to be Starcraft more than anything - they're Space *Troopers*. It's more militarized junk and it's just not thematically on point. Plus, for $200, it doesn't feel like the 2,600 parts are being utilized efficiently - it reeks of highly-greebled AFOL design meant to look pretty over everything else. If I wanted robots and missiles and laser guns and soldiers, I'd go for Star Wars or Galaxy Squad. If other AFOLs want to stretch the corpse of Classic Space over the bones of something else, fine, but that's not what I'm looking for.
I don't want to feel obligated to show support for something I don't want, just for some vain hope that it will eventually lead to something I do. So this is gonna be a pass for me.

Here are my thoughts on the bricklink designer sets. I'm trying to gauge which ones will actually go through before the preorders so I'm keen to hear others thoughts as well. I've had time to save up some money for these, so will probably preorder whatever's likely to go through.

I really like:
Train Station
Steam Powered Science

I like:
Winter Chalet
1950's diner

I have mixed feelings on:
Mountain View Observatory (Looks small for price)
Modular Construction Site

I don't like:
Brickwest Studios (Saloon looks bland)
Working Waterfall (Cliff looks shit)
Space Troopers (Looks ass)

Welp, got somewhere with my transformer.

>>
>>9786365
Well, yes, I know that, but I was saying the version I was basing my build off of is the one from one of the DnD Adventure modules.
>>
>>9786644
The diner will make it 100% just because of the price point. I also think the construction site will make it since modulars are so popular.
>>
>>9786823

The Diner is definitely going to be the first one to reach goal.

I think this round's winners, from top to bottom are going to be;

1. 1950s Diner
2. Winter Chalet
3. Working Waterfall
4. Train Station
5. Observatory

They squeezed too many of the huge sets to compete against one another in the final round. When the goal is quantity of sale and not total amount, the larger sets are at a disadvantage.

The steam punk lab and brickwest studios seem the coolest to me, but I don't have my hopes up.

I LOVED these bikes as a kid and almost forgot about them. Was never a huge duplo kid(my mom collected fisherprice little people sets that felt similar and were ultra based) and got introduced to Lego pretty early on, but these bikes were just so cool thick and chunky looking. Vroomed those around on the floor a ton.
It's excacerbated by the fact they're thick wide and seem extra low because of it. That's my gripe with the newer bikes of Lego. They sit just too high for my liking. The old 80s bikes felt more proportionate atleast for what i like doing scale wise. The fabuland bikes come close when you sit a figure down in them.

Although I will say these new flywheel ones are based and really fun as well. The different sized wheels makes them look funny in the first place so I don't mind them as more stunty clown type frankenstein bikes.

Curious to get my hands on the stuntz "american police travel/chopper" farings as they cover up the rear tire behind faring mostly. I though that was a neat compromise and hope they make it fun colours.

It's unfortunate because coupled with the decent pieces comes a good price point too which almost assures it will make it. The killer this round was all the high dollar sets. People will fund all the cheaper ones and pick a single expensive one to fund.

>>9787612
When I was younger I would always be annoyed when my parents would congratulate me on finishing a set that was large or seemed complex, with the way they would congratulate me it seemed like they thought I had just designed it completely myself.

I wouldn't say there are any sets that are actually "hard" to build, maybe some are annoying or repetitive or have components that are a bit weak at first but nothing that is actually challenging.

Probably, normalfags only buy sets to use them as paperweights and dust collectors.
For me, building complicated sets is either boring or tedious. The only time time I found a set hard was building Hogsmead village visit when assembling the roof, it would keep breaking when I was trying to attach it.
