Historically there probably weren’t very many Dane warrior women. But their greater mythos loved Valkyries. It’s perfectly appropriate to have them in sets. Especially romanticized Viking sets with mythical creatures. What I’m disappointed about is them going back to old horn helmets. I like horny and non historical Vikings but I was really hoping to get more of those helmets in the style of that cmf Viking a couple years back

Haven’t seen it. But I’m not really in that camp. I really don’t think it’s a big deal to enjoy Vikings. I’m not super into them but its a fun subject. It’s a bit overdone but this shit happens all the time. It just skyrocketed in popularity in the last 10 years or so because it’s a big budget media fad. More due to vidya than movies. Before that, zombies were all the rage. Personally I’m hoping for a pirate fad. But I won’t hold my breath as I think nuPirates of the Caribbean is going to be a pile of shit. And then studio executives will take a poorly made movie as evidence of a genre as a whole because they are retarded trend chasers.

Ogel = Barron.
They both have hooks, both have something with eye. My bet is Barron found the stone and placed it in his eyesocket. This kept him alive but Hothep's curse made him go insane. He outlived everytone else and wanted to take over the world. Ogel is 130 years old Barron at the moment Alpha Team meets him.

That still doesn't explain how he got to the past so that the ancient Egyptians would make written records about him, not to mention on a stella that they used to write names of their gods on.

Haven't shopped much outside of Canada so I couldn't say. Generally I find that if a store seems to be a straight-up reseller (most/all their inventory are "new" parts/sets/figs) they tend to have higher prices on average, not fond of using those. There's one store I won't name but any Canadian user of BL will likely recognize for having ridiculously high prices on everything - no clue who buys from them (they have close to 600 orders). That one's an outlier though, feel like I've seen a couple similar ones in the US too.

Never. You can buy any part they're able to provide and if they deem your replacement complaints as excessive, they'll investigate and potentially blacklist you as a customer. Which means you'll be unable to use VIP or lego.com forever.

Lego has an excellent warranty and customer service program on the basis of good faith. Most toy companies tell you to deal with the retailers for warranty within their return windows (2 weeks after purchase) or to kick dirt. Lego warranties stuff that is decades old, which is pretty amazing.

I mentioned to Mega Bloks that one of my ninja turtles metal shells came scratched and they shipped me a replacement one. Never had a missing piece from a Lego set but I have had one piece be slightly molded wrong in a $350 set. Never bothered to contact them because the part still fits fine.
>>
>>9771705
Mos Eisley is the more interesting set imo. I like that the set opens up into one gigantic interior room instead of a bunch of smaller, separate rooms. There are very few playset style sets that sort of layout.

It's also one of the only 18+ sets that's open ended and has the ability to be modified and added on in a fulfilling and easy way.

I only collect vintage stuff, but pulled the trigger on it during the may 4th promo. I would wait until double VIP points to order it now since it's out of stock.

Not any of the previous anons but I will point out that the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes wrote a comedy called Lysistrata where women tired of the ongoing Peloponnesian War decide to force the men to come to terms by denying them sex. From this we can infer that:
>women in ancient Greece didn't participate in warfare
>women in ancient Greece were basically a set of holes
And that's just one example. We can go over how much the shield and armor of a typical hoplite would be carrying into battle weighed, how female participation in conflict was so unheard of that attention is drawn to a rare instance of it during the battle of Salamis (where a woman commander in Xerxes' fleet gets tired of being wrekt by the Greeks and sinks one of her own ships to gtfo of there), how phalanx cohesion depended on everyone being of roughly comparable strength and build to be effective...

Tl;dr women warriors is and always has been a Hollywood meme (or the ancient world's equivalent of Hollywood)

Maybe the deepest lore is in Lego Dig, way before Evil Ogel was even thought
of. This cancelled Lego Island sequel was based on the Adventurers theme and Ogel was the name of this ancient civilization or the city where the player stayed between archeological explorations.
Coincidentally, both this game and Alpha Team would involve zombies portrayed by skeletons.

At current scale, the builds suck, because everything is far too large to properly depict anything in a cost or space effective way. Minifig scale is perfect because it's the perfect medium to depict most ip.

And go figure, an adult forum that likes Lego prefers to treat it like model building rather than playing with large action figures that make noises when bopped with qr codes.

Given how people whine about lack of Mario minifigs, it serms more like Lego is treated like Funko Pops in here.
Also, I don't care if things are minifig scale, the focus is still the builds, minifigs are just accessories to those builds.

I hate what lego has done to it's themes. No I'm not talking about licenseshit. The idea was to have a system in a system. Meaning the lego system put into different topics with a range of sets. And while that's still the case for most of the themes, they absolutely murdered their original stuff.
Now only City is left and we get stuff that doesn't even belong there like the recent Space subtheme. It's called City not Space. It doesn't make sense.
Then there is Creator which isn't even a theme but just a label for all sorts of sets that lego doesn't want to create actual themes for. Maybe I'm too autistic but there is so much lost potential in the stuff they could be doing.

You are strawmanning me.
The bitching is about lack of Mario minifigs, meaning those are somehow more important than playsets for children all about building things.
>>
>>9772175
Mario is still a character driven game, and most people remember Lego as a roleplaying toy from their childhood, so it makes sense that minifigures are popular. They also usually accompany the best builds because minifigures are specifically scaled to work with Lego bricks in a certain way.

I just want a Peach's castle that functions as a model / playset that I can add on to and that characters can walk through. I'd be fine with micro-scale like the big Hogwarts.
>>
>>9772199
Then build it anon, nothing is stopping you.
Oh wait, it's not the castle you care about.
Just go collect action figures then.
>>
>>9772199
Also, character driven game??
Mario games are mainly about platforming, it's not some story focused game like The Last of Us for example.

Greetings LG!
It's been a while. Today I bring you a recent MOC I managed to find some time to build a few weeks back.
The LunaCorp Manta, a medium sized ship for one of my factions.
In universe the ship is supposed to engage larger/capital ships since its weapons allow it to dish quite a bit of damage to such targets. Due to its large size, it is not very maneuverable and thus will usually sortie out escorted by smaller interceptors that screen its approach and generally defend it on its way.
>>
>>9772171
I mean that they could have probably made more accurate enemies in blocks. Only Banzai BIl really looks accurate and Goimbas are too big

The inspiration for this came from a build someone posted here maybe 5-6 years ago, using a similar wing piece to create a spaceship.
While the poster may or not be here, his idea remained in my head, and now I've managed to make something similar.
The stickers were already on the wing when I got it, I decided to leave them on since I don't feel they take away that much from the overall look of the build.

I actually have tried it with those, those flags are made out of a different type of plastic apparently, they don't respond strongly at all to plastic cement, there might be another type of welding glue that works with them though that's stronger but I have no idea what it is.

Lego makes their parts out of quite a few different types of plastic. Tamiya cement works great for ABS, but doesn't work on Polypropylene for example which is what I'm pretty sure most of the flags are made from since it's slightly more flexible.

So, if you did want to fix clips like that, I honestly have no idea what you can use. Super glue (Cyanoacrylates) would work, but i'm not sure it would work like a welding cement and be prone to breakage still.

The flags could also be made out of Polypropylene, but I'm really just not sure what type of plastic Lego makes the older clip-on flags from, but it's definitely not ABS or Polystyrene.

this is something that nobody cares about but me, but i need to tell someone

the turret that is included with 76104 hulkbuster smash up does NOT belong to the outriders! it's wakandan tech

1. the outriders were a battalion of feral skirmishers. they did not use tactics, they just zerg rush anything in front of them
2. the turret uses purple
3. the turret has multi wing sections

Imagine being autistic enough to care

Lego = a single Lego
Legos = multiple Legos
what is it that you aren't understanding?

Agreed. The overall shapes would be correct and the builds would probably be easy/good. But the overall aesthetic would be wrong. Knitting and Fabric would be very difficult to communicate without a shit ton of prints, stickers, and actual cloth pieces. And that just seems like that would make the sets crazy overpriced.

Yes. Current day entrance is made by tomb robbers. Main entrance is facing north. Nile was east of Pyramid, next to queen Khufu's satellite pyramids. What you see as entrance is just entrance to funeral temple, so called false doors.

I think it is very good recreation of course excluding underground chamber due to lego limitations.

Only the sphinx set. The pyramid has the scorpion but that was only a sidebuild.
And still, it's not like Ninjago doesn't do stupid bullshit like that now
>>
>>9775813
I want historical modulars, either how they looked when constructed or how they look now, but minifig scale and complete buildings
Throw in some modern signage and maybe some other parts and it can easily be used for historical settings or for a modern city as a heritage site
>>
>>9775836
Not only sphinx. There was another set with Cobra or smaller stone scarab. Pyramid was the only sensible structure but that was the lagest set. Compare this to Adventurers desert series where we had small tomb with cool chain opening mechanism. And that was like 3rd smallest set not counting polybag tier ones.
>>
>>9775774
>3/4
Wait what? How does this work? The capstone is a regular 1x2 half pyramid piece, right? Or is the front slope not 45 degrees even though the side are? What about the corners? Wouldn't they need to be 45° on one side and much steeper on the other? Do pieces like that exist?

also, i only recently found out jang streamed, when i saw his announcement for the 1-year anniversary millennium falcon stream. i remember him posting a massive essay back when that set came out about how he had no interest in the set or the source material, na dhow itd have been stupid for him to spend all that money on it and how hed never do it.

Which sets you think will make it?
>>
>>9776409
Construction site is the sleeper that nobody is really talking about but will make it for sure. Overall I predict: Construction, diner because it's cheap, train station, brick west, and the steam powered science set. The observatory could potentially replace the steam powered but I don't really see anything else winning.
>>
Do people play with the lego they build?
>>
>>9776453
define play
>>
>>9776409
Lots of them are squeezed into a high price-point, so that's going to make the big sets more competitive with one another.

I think the 1950s Diner is going to go first. It's the only set in that mid price point and I think it has a broad appeal.

Aside from that, I'd guess the Observatory, Chalet, Waterfall and Train Station.

I really hope the steam punk lab makes it, but I don't have my hopes too high.
