So everyone ready for Tuesday for them to make another statement/apology for shipping issues?
>>
>>9746328
Haven't even finished paying off the last set of pre-orders and as usual Hasbro already wants to do a drop of pre-orders for the Zarana wave, more WM, and probs Target. Maybe quitting before the flood isn't a terrible idea given the price hikes. ML are almost $30 now

Viper 3-pack?
>>
>>9746380
I mean there's no other 3 packs, so probably. Remember the Black Series wave that was slated for next year started showing up in the last month as well, wouldn't be surprised.

zartan had some brown ink washes and some green dry brushing on the crocodile skin belts and straps also some highlights and washes on the blacks silvers & battle damage
outback had the straps and clips painted a different colour and the backpack given a wash
the rifle was given some tiger stripes and a brown wash with the scopes painted
beach head was given an olive drab wash dry brushing on his gear and backpack

Possibility of selling is part of it I guess, but I also just remember pulling out some older figs at one point, seeing what I'd done to them, and felt like I'd ruined them. Like trimming plastic around joints for increased range, slicing up vests and belts, painting little details in poorly, and full blown customization that had me use a Xamot, leaving poor Tomax alone. Furthest I've gone in customizing recently was a reversible part swap, and even that had me purchase another couple of Scarletts to keep stock. Like I said, might be autism.
>>
>>9746832
The big head og one has its special charm but ill go left.
>>
>>9746844
Outback looks fantastic anon, really brought him to life. They all look great but outback is my personal stand out.
>>
>>9746832
Comic pack one on the right, better range of movement for the hips, better head sculpt and better vest that doesn't get in the way of posing.

The best option is track down the 50th Beachhead.
>>
>>9746918
thanks dude :)
>>9746862
thing is you gotta see them as learning curves, not every artist starts out a da Vinci
>>
>>9746832
I chose the comic back one myself, I actually like his brighter green and the unique...but admittedly large...head. The better vest and hips are also good reasons to prefer him.

>>9746837
>>9746840
With the amount of different textures and details on these guys, a good wash will just make em pop. I don't paint em cause I'm lazy, but they sure do look good getting that premium treatment.

>>9746852
I'm hoping the line last long enough to get a more OG colored Outback. His TF look is cool and all, but I prefer his ginger Chuck Norris look.

>>9746862
You definitely need a certain mindset to customize figures. Like, you have to 100% know you never want to just up and sell the toy before you make any permanent changes, and even then you could regret it years down the line.

It helps when the figures you mod are cheap though, I feel a lot less hesitance cutting into a $5 Corps vehicle then I do a $50 exclusive piece or something.
>>
>>9746837
I paint up a lot my Star Wars figures but for some reason just don't feel like doing it to the Classified stuff. I like the more clean appearance on them even though a lot of the sculpts do look better with a bit of a wash to bring out their detail.
>>
>every female character in Classified has small tits
Did they let Jem's creator handle this line or something?
>>
>>9747674
Most of Hasbro's design teams are woke little shits who hate the fanbases who buy them. GI Joe especially. They specifically demanded that buxom buck for Rogue under ML to be retired so that they could use a smaller breasts version for all female figures. Rogue getting a re-issue on classic card managed to bring it back for the moment.
>>
>>9747674
>>9747727
With the exception of 25th Lady Jaye, fat tits hasn't been a notable aspect of G.I. Joe like it is with superheroes.

>>
>>9747768
Big breasts doesn't necessarily correlate to good health. Also gotta remember what they're wearing. Scarlet and Baroness have armor plates to squeeze them down, Zarana's jacket looks like thick leather. Lady Jaye could've used some enhancement, but that whole sculpt is kinda fucked with the barrel chest and scrawny arms, don't really know what happened

>>
>>9748341
So what was up with the hair? Her and Cover Girl didn't have their pony tails, were they deemed too fragile? Or were the toy designers going for realistic short haircut that the military would make them have?
>>
>>9748022
Kinda reminds me of the Renegades version in that episode with Heavy Duty
>>
>>9748347
Easier mold based on where the seams are. Unless the ponytail stuck straight out the it would have been a bitch to get out.
>>
So do you think we'll see any other versions of CC in Classified? The hooded versions are a no-no, so really we have the Battle Armor/Fred VII and a vintage version of the battle helmet design.

Before we're completely done talking about titties, I miss the 00s card art
>>
>>9748535
The Joe Vs. Cobra/Spy Troops/Valor Vs. Venom card art was pretty cool. Even if the art didn’t match up with the figures, or were mismatched, like some of those Snake-Eyes figures where the art was meant to be for a different Snake-Eyes figure from the line/set/era.
>>
>>9748478
At best we will see a con exclusive before the line dies. I don't think we are going to see anything as robust as 25th anniversary line and with no new media out there I feel it'll be shelved if not next year than year after for sure.
>>
>>9748478
The classic helmet design is most assuredly gonna happen since that's his most iconic design.
>>
>>9748800
I could also see the BA design happening so you can put the unmasked Fred head onto the Crimson Guard.

Styles on the boxes are all over the place, but I like that we get some standouts that are cool enough to be posters even if there are duds mixed in. I prefer it to the samey stuff that blends together like their Disney lines' box art.

I'll be happy with a "Retro release" of the Flagg, though I'd want it to be compatible with ME figures and use updated construction techniques and material to make it more sturdy/modular.

I'll admit, I kinda went in on the Sky Striker in hopes of it being a pre-cursor for a new Flagg.

These waves felt more like a Metal Gear Solid toyline at times then a did a Joe one, and that was fantastic. One major thing I noted during the presentation which differentiated from Legends...

They didnt hint any package changes for the GI JOE Classified Retro line. I assume a few things because I'm reading into it too much:

A. Initiative is probably being pushed by Disney hard. [Altho they seem to be doing it also on their own Transformers, Fortnite, and Power Rangers]

B. Their Joe retro line is still brand new and depends 9000000% Nostalgia so they're probably trying to leave them as normal as possible until they can trick us all into rebuying.

Maybe I'm reading into it too much but I feel
>>

First thing I thought of when i saw the art. I'm like REALLY? It doesnt match. It matches the Profit Director Destro which is stupid anyway
>>
>>9750088
>>9751604
I disagree completely
While I think the zarana one specifically looks like generic fan art
I feel for the most part they're stylistically cool enough and bring a lot of different flavor to the packaging and it's cool seeing different interpretations of all these charscters

Master of disguise zartan is the ugliest art to me and you look at lightning collection with all their mountains of that same type of ugly art yeah I'm glad Joe is an eclectic bunch of styles, moods and interpretations
>>
>>9751617
master of disguise is an exclusive box so it could be whatever it wants... Zarana is general release and there should be a consistency in the line. Its like the art director is on crack. What's next? Logos in Comics sans?
>>
>>9751627
>>9751604
>he cares what the literal trash surrounding his toy looks like
>>
>>9751632
This, really. And this is coming from someone who actually keeps the boxes. I never really cared what the art looked like. Some of the cobra troopers and vipers and stuff look pretty cool, but most of the time, I just don't even look at them.
>>
>>9751634
Well they have to care when they're MIB collectors that pack them onto a shelf like library books so all that's visible is the side. There are many such cases.
>>
>>9751665
Almost every time I've seen shelves like that, they face the side with the figure number out, which is like the only side of the box that doesn't have any artwork on it at all, funnily enough.
>>
>>9751634
>this is coming from someone who actually keeps the boxes. I never really cared what the art looked like.
That makes you sound more unstable not less.

I have no dog in this fight and toss the boxes but to want to keep them but not care what they look like is crazy hoarder behavior at best which sooner invalidates you from the talk at hand because why listen to a crazy person?
>>
>>9751679
You're really reaching for something to complain about, aren't you? I don't even have that many figures from this line, and most other lines I do throw the boxes away. I just think the box designs themselves are kind of neat, and the figures I do have are mostly troopers, which I already said I do like the artwork on those most.

What exactly was complain about in that post? You said "this is coming from someone who actually keeps the boxes. >>
>>9751877
You're the one making a bizarrely big deal over this...Perhaps I could have worded it differently, but my point is that I don't think the boxes are amazing, but I think the artwork for some of the troopers looks ok. You are strangely obsessed with the exact specifications as to why someone might save a few boxes, making weird leaps in logic, to boot. Get over it.

Not at all, I said you were crazy for wanting to collect boxes that you don't even care what they looked like, and it seems I hit a nerve as you wish to spend all this time proving you are not crazy to anonymous, which by all means isn't crazy at all.
> You are strangely obsessed with the exact specifications as to why someone might save a few boxes, making weird leaps in logic, to boot.

>>

Don't worry, after this last wave announced they will just be in brown boxes with a drawling on the front.
>>
>>9751591
I personally feel it's best not to assume things in general, especially when you essential dismantle your own assumption in the same post you made it.

Hasbro has been pretty upfront about trying to streamline and environmentalize their packaging for years. Hell I remember back in the late 2000s when they went to the cardboard/paper string things to keep figures in place and all the people bitching about that. Packaging has always been an expensive part of toy production, and should be the first thing cut back to try and save money.

Though I will agree that they're putting out alt versions of figures first so they can more easily double dip on Retro re-paint re-releases. I'm betting on Outback and Bazooka getting that retro update in their OG colors as I'm not big on their Tiger Force looks. But this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone as this is just standard practice for Hasbro.

>>9751961
That works perfectly well for the Transformers Select stuff. Ironically, despite their simplicity they're still really nice boxes. Very sturdy with lots of great art and design detailing, both on the outside of the box and inside as well.
>>
>>9750811
One of the coolest forms of Dusty. Especially with, what I call, the “sandstorm survival mask”. The bio on the box might’ve said what it was, but I haven’t looked it the back of the box on that since the figure was released.

Shadow Tracker was one of those blink and you miss it figures. Being an original character, a fantastic looking figure and just LOADED with gear, he disappeared so fast it was like he never existed. The fact Hasbro never re-ran him sucks, but I understand why random one off OCs wouldn't get much attention. Night Adder is another figure that I would love to see reused or updated, though his figure was all reuse parts to begin with so he was never as impressive.

I would imagine it will be just like the Black Series and Marvel trooper builders and it would sell out in seconds. Hasbro doesnt do ever green products.

We need a basic Joe grunt troop builder for Pulse. Something that mimics the O13 figure look. Do a Steel Brigade trooper for retail so he gets the proper gear.
