They handled this pretty well.
The ikimono encyclopedia line is starting to remove the stands for some variations, for example kabutomushi 03 and kuwagata 04 will have variations without wings and variations without stands.
But on this line they managed to cover the lack of stand for the potter wasp by making the whole shell a pot.

It's somewhat reasonable. If you follow the gashapon blog, they have been talking about the 500yen price limit being to harsh for what they want to do.

Generally the lineup for the future is colored beetles are in regular gashapon capsules and no wings, black color beetles gets display base and wings.

There are unique molds that varies. Next rhino beetle series has goliath beetle that comes in regular capsule(no display base) but also with wings.

Got my grabois, cybertruck for scale. Paint is actually pretty good, with plenty of painted tiny details and nice washes.Unfortunately they only included one top head piece so you can't have the full graboid and emerging one complete at the same time. Still, fun little figures and they can terrorize your hotwheels or other small toys.

For figures I use stair acrylic risers and have a dedicated shelf for them, inanimate objects I use for pictures like food and such I store in plastic storage boxes that have adjustable compartments.

I have a display cabinet, instead of piling toys up, when I feel like I don't need one anymore I just sell them.
Most of my collection are in good condition and fairly rare, selling them is pretty easy. Like recently I sold my Transformers EZ G1 Megatron for several times the price I bought it even though it didn't have the box and had scratches from fiddling with it.

Bought these.
The can badge and the ball display are 300 yen each and the rubber mascot and badge case is 200 yen. So each display is about 500 yen total.
It's real neat, the ball thing is the size of a big, usually 500 yen gashapon ball.

Gonna put it on my desk and look at it from time to time while I work.

AS's are slightly taller than DTA's
AS's can't use some of the props from DTA's, but DTA's can use AS's props (AS's only have a small circular hole while DTA's have a longer rectangular hole of the same width)
AS's have the same head size with taller face plates, while DTA's are shorter and more chibi-like
DTA's ball joint for the head is much larger than AS's, and some DTA's are able to use the hair pieces from AS's, but AS's are too thick for DTA's hair pieces
DTA's and AS's arms are not compatible with each other (DTA's use ball joints, but AS's use pegs), both arms are the same length and proportion though
DTA's use smaller ball joints than AS's for the legs, but AS's legs can slot into DTA's hips albeit very loosely
DTA's legs are longer than AS's, they have the same thigh length but DTA's have longer feet

AS's proportions are closer to anime / realistic styles meanwhile DTA's are more chunky and chibi-like

These are the few that I can think of when I was trying to mix both a while back.
