No one should ever have to pay over $25 dollars for a figure

Yep, I get all my figures on sale, even if it's just one dollar off

Why is there no government benefit program specifically to subsidize manchildren buying toys bros :-(

Inflation. I remember when a TF Deluxe was $6, now it's like $20. It still reminds me why TRU is dead here in the first place and why it's possibly a good thing

I wish. They recently bumped it to 22.

There are literally no good figures under 25$ so you're asking for the industry's standards to lower to the point that figures aren't worth buying anymore.

Companies are going bonkers with their price hikes and other tactics. And if they go bankrupt, either the government bails them with our money or Management (who made the horrible decisions) gets a bonus and moves to another company.
We should make our own entertainment and toys.

I got mine for free. It was a birthday gift. I kept this toy even though I forgot about it since 2011. During the rocky days of /v/ when /v/ was good. We didn't know how long it would last but I feel like a part of me is here with me now.
>>
>>9556497
If that was made today it's safe to say it'd be at least $100. Weren't those 12" ML $60 a few years ago?

>>9557533
Never seen import figures at Flea Markets. Mostly vintage Disney and Star Wars. People in Flea Markets always price their figures in an attempt to profit anyway so good figures would still be sold for a premium unless somehow, for some reason, some crusty old out of touch idiot got a hold of a bunch of imports and sold them for American toy prices instead of looking them up online.
>>
>>9556505
They were $50 but they got slashed in price almost immediately to $13 each because no one was buying them.

These guys were $70, i thought.

1/3rd of the articulation of that SpiderMan and half assed paint apps.

They re-released it for like $120, but it came with a Wolverine ML.

Never mind, i remembered Scouts then.
https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Size_class#Cybertron

But i will never forget the week where Walmart was selling TFA Deluxes for $8.88. definitely the last time they had these crazy prices, like $4.44 for 2003 TMNT basics, or a quarter for a can of store-brand soda

I was talking about the 12” Legends line from 2015-2016. They only made a few characters (Spidey, Iron Man, Cap, Deadpool, Thor, Hulk, Wolverine, movie BP, Daredevil, Symbiote Spidey, and then two DP variants)
This is one of the big figs from the Marvel Universe line. Hence why they didn’t go crazy on articulation I’m guessing. The people buying it we’re buying 3 3/4”.

Have fun bro.
>>
>>9554546
Stuff is getting prohibitively expensive. Not on a affordability stance, but on sheer principal. I've been looking forward to the Neca Warrior Predator and see it now costs $41. Seems like just yesterday these things cost $22. Same thing with X-Pus kaiju and most chogokins. I enjoy the hobby but am coming close the point of stopping because I feel foolish paying such absurd prices on toys.
>>
>>9570299
so what will be the endgame here? Toys going to be a hobby for rich people only? I don't see them going down in price ever, nothing does.

Or they going back to more basic toys? 5poa going for $20 for example.

What's going on here?
>>
>>9570299
>Not on a affordability stance
It is for a lot of people too though, especially with Covid making every thing inflated and absurd fucking rent prices nowadays. Harder to justify $100 on a toy robot when I'm paying more for food and gas
>>
>>9570375
As with most luxuries like having a hobby, it does seem that is the endgame which in itself is stupid. I doubt many in the $500k+ p/y bracket are interested in in this stuff.

>>9570384
I agree. I just wanted to point out that these asinine price increases are affecting both those that cant and can afford these items.

>>
>>9554546
You don't. Final Faction is $1 per figure, and there are many figures in the $15 range. If you want better ones that's up to you to pay the extra.
>>
>>9570394
>affecting both those that cant and can afford these items.

I'm being paid fairly well now and yet I still cringe at prices nowadays. I recently did a bunch of army building with Valaverse and Joes and I'm probably not going to drop any more cash after dropping over 5k on an army. But that said I don't think I will be collecting for much longer if prices go up, it just keeps getting worse as time goes on and I don't feel it's worth the cost.
>>
>>9573824
Captain Planet and Winnie the Pooh love you, Cletus.
>>
>>9574358
Well anon,
in these troubled times with rising costs,
global warming causing mass flooding world wide,
I'd say its best to retire entirely and just pack it on up selling all the loose junk at a loss while only using BBTS from now on,
your one stop shop for all things 1/12 scale.

Did you dislocate your arm reaching that hard kiddo?
