>>9544424Rumor has it that S.23 is gonna come out this year, so u may get another shot.
Here's my vintage Futuron table that I mentioned in the last thread. Needs to be dusted/organized and there's one or two sets I haven't built that belong to this theme that aren't on the table, but I've also got a few small MOCs there. If anybody wants to see closeups of this table I'll post em.
>>9551582Neat collection anonThe Futuron base was epic as a little kid. I've been thinking of using that worm gear piece for an elevator car.
>>9551582Very nice anonI wouldn't mind seeing both monorail stations and the base in their own pics
>>9551636>>9551638Thanks anons. I only have the pics I took earlier, but I might clean everything up and set it up to take some pics of later with better lighting and stuff.I agree that their base was really special. I have a specific memory of my grandma getting it for me, and it might have even been the first Futuron set I ever had. Something about the red Futuron figures exclusive to this set (and later appearing once in a figure multipack) is really exciting. The red color scheme just looks so great on these guys, and the fact they're so rare makes them even better.
>>9551538that looks fucking cool. needs some proportion tweaking but I want it.
>>9551538>dual-wield drillsthey finally do something right
>>9551538I think ninjago might be lego's single most soulless original IP to date. at least when it was just spin-tops i could easily ignore it. now it feels like the only options for lego IPs are girlshit, boyshit, licenseshit or city(shit).
>>9551538>TeeVee style Wu-botNice
>>9551568watch it be another technicolour crock of shit. i just want figs that fit stylistically with literally anything in lego. what am i going to do with the racoon? place her in my furcon moc? what about the moon knight? my biggest pet peeve with this series (and the last few to a lesser degree) are the over-the-top facial expressions. i wish theyd represent some emotions besides cloying disney excitement/chagrin
>>9551707Also talk it may be tied to LEGO's 90th. Hopefully not another costume party themed wave.
>>9550793>>9551374This dude's also into it with them sideburns
>>9551707>>9551784>he didn't armybuild Presidents Business to have an entire office's worth of middle managers
>>9551582Really nice collection! I also really like futuron, I have the monorail too but sadly no space to really set it up. I was also thinking of remaking the Blacktron 1 base into futuron colors and having it interact with the monorail in some way, I think that base would look really nice in the futuron color scheme. Also love the figs - a small change I really enjoy is color coding their transparent visors.
This wave is trash.
>>9551582Shame it has to share a table with that queer Soi Wars shit.
>>9551582Mono means OneRail means rail, Super sweep collection anon
>>9551538Are they finally dropping the lie that they're just lego power rangers?
>>9551982It’s actually a Gurren Lagan rip-off
>>9551931Lol, I agree Starwars is soicore. I'm not so much into SW itself as I'm into SW 1-3 Lego sets, though I have picked up a few from more recent movies, etc just because I liked the set designs or minifigs. That AT-AT is on the table because I didn't really have a better spot to put it.>>9551845These look great! I thought about doing something similar but I feel like coding the visors to their respective color doesn't stand out as much as the trans dark blue ones. I really need to get a hold of one of the parts to build one of those purple spacemen before it's too late.
>>9551538The golden age of mechs is over.
Anyone ever used Circuit Cubes before? Bought instructions that require them for motorization and I just wanna know how intuitive it is in comparison to Lego's electronics
Overwatch 2 is going to be a disaster... if it even comes out. Lego is smart to drop them.
>>9552169Game is shit anyway, who honestly cares?
>>9551985*Actually* it's a Pacific Rim knockoff. You clearly don't know your mechs.
>>9552184based on comments from the reddit thread about it, no one. No one cares. They're cheering on the cancellation, in fact.
>>9552169I literally just want the Mei fig
>>9552207Get a Monkie Kid set then
>>9552186The designer himself came out and said he was “inspired” by Gurren Lagan.
Sorry I never returned to explain the brands.>smooth>x-treme>vita-rush>rocket racers>octan>post/cargoAny others I should try?
What's the best way to browse minifgure heads and torsos? Bricklink is too unwieldly, you basically need to know what you want already or just browse every single item in order
Built a new little dragon for DnD. Enjoy.
Anyone have experience with the knockoff brand road baseplates for modulars? I don't want to ay fuckhuge bricklink prices for the retired road baseplates.
>>9552186No one gives a fuck about your stupid interpretative dance mechs. If your not drilling to the heavens your ngmi

>>9552312As a fellow Dragob builder - GREAT JOB, very solid colorshemePic rel. was also amazing! Are you same anon?
>>9552352Thanks.>>9552366Yeah, that's me. We're fighting that monster on Saturday. Wish us luck. Also, here, have a pet Clay Golem.
Just out of curiosity, why do people hate modern Lego Starwars? Is it the design team, the pricing, or just the franchise itself?
>>9552386You have great style!I made these long time ago for my fav figures
>>9552411Oversized, overdetailed, rehashes.Lego star wars peaked at the start.
>>9552411/lg/ only hates it because these threads are AFoL circlejerk. Licenses bad, skin colors bad, new themes bad, and ETC.
>>9552312Getting Spyro vibes here.
>>9552423How is /lg/ full of afols, don’t afols love license shit, skin color, and shill the new themes, I thought this place was anti afol?
>>9552423Measuring the geometries and "nits" of pieces together is also frowned upon.
>>95523622qt4lewd, porn artists should hang themselves.
you have to be 18 to post on this shithole, so therefore every single one of you is an adult fan of lego.
>>9552461Lmao you’re delusional. AFoLs are basically what these threads are; hating anything new, hating anything that isn’t system, hating ANY deviation from the norm whatsoever (minidolls, skin colors, stylized facial prints), hating licenses, hating cut parts, hating the competition, masturbating to classic space/castle/western/etc, and the list goes on.
>>9552514For the millionth time, AFoL is a specific group of people. Not all adult lego fans are AFoL.
>>9552522>hating cut partsAre you genuinely so retarded that you think the hatred for purposefully wrecking your own collection is exclusive to one group? Holy shit. Weren't you supposed to be older than 18?
>>9552523AFoL = badALF = good
The best part about classic sets was not needing a dozen special parts and an art degree to build something cool.
>>9552530It's really more about the presentation. There's just something mystical and magical about the way the 80s and 90s lego boxes look like, they have this aura that just draws you into a new world. The backdrops are just fucking kino. Of course, the sets aren't like that once you actually build them, and they're still very basic, but they have so much sovl. It feels like they were designed to inspire, not to just deliver some product that you build once and forget about.
>>9551538Oh my fuck anon I been blessed with good luck, found my dream kit on a local classified like new for $50. I always wanted this one but the price was getting up there and kept going up. So happy to finally have this kit.Good hunting anon.
>>9552541did you take this picture on a flip phone?
>>9552522>AFoLs hate D*sneyshitlmao no, they'd be based if they did
>>9552538If we're talking about the box art, the old ones are a lot simpler (prettier too in my opinion) which leaves the focus on the actual set. The modern sets always have these busy scenes with a lot of shit that's not even part of the actual set. The new City sets are some of the worst offenders, showing entire roads and impossibly-scaled skyscrapers in the back. And a good chunk is also spent showboating characters from the franchises (both Ninjago/City/Monkie Kid and licensed themes are guilty of this) because that's the only thing AFOLs, consoomers and kids care about (apparently).>Who cares the set is shit? It has [CHARACTER] and [REFERENCE TO THING I SAW]!
I know inflation is a real thing, but looking at the new sets this year and realizing how much less you're getting these days for your money is insane. Look at the new star wars battle packs for example, some only have 3 figures and they're $5 more for less parts and figures than you got a decade ago.
If you played with LEGO as a kid, what was your playstyle? Most of my brothers were all into cars, one of them was obsessed with Technic and trains...And then there was me, using minifigures for cannon practice targets (that satisfying sound of the cylinder launching and hitting plastic) and having a little shop/museum of all the different minifigure heads I had. Oh, and using the raised castle baseplates' hole as either a prisoner cell (it rubs the lotion on its skin...) or a treasure hoard for all the coins, bills and other valuables I had. Good times.
>>9552608Mom never let me take the sets apart so I just played with them as is.
>>9552676Tell me more about your abusive and controlling mother.
>>9552363Nigga wat? Do even langan?
>>9552687Gainax is the most over rated piece of shit ever made, fuck ugly design and boring ass series.
>>9551985Fuck gurren lagann and fuck its retardly boring mechs.
So I spent a fair bit today picked up 75316,75311 and 75310.on Saturday I pick up 75243,75258, 75259 and the seller is throwing in the 20th anniversary obiwanAnd 75261 is getting delivered tomorrow which just leaves me to find a copy of 75265.
>>9552705The sheer faggotry in posting set numbers and expecting people to look them up. Fuck you.
>>9552705Feck and I will be bidding on a turbotank unless it gets too pricey for an incomplete kit.
>>9552709Mando starfighterMaul vs asokaImp marauder20th anniversary Slave 1, annis pod racer and snow speeder20th Atrt with wookie and am still looking for the 20th anniversary stormtrooper flyer.
>>9552681I think you can surmise what you'd expect from that sentence alone.
>>9552603Ever since they started Licensed collectible minifigs, Lego decided to raise the price of related minifig sets. Its Lego dipping into price gouging and its more apparent with the virus.
>>9551538I was considering this when it was 79€ locally, but I figured might as well wait a bit to see if it goes down,
>>9552721I want the juicy details.
My excitement for the new lunar base has vanished. Initially I liked it for the glass dome and because the spacecraft reminded me of classic space Polaris space lab set I kinda wanted. And some time ago I thought "why buy lunar base if I can get that polaris station it reminds me of?"And here it is! I actually like how there was an ongoing "evolution" of black and white space sets: Classic space -> Futuron - > Exploriens. The later had the best station with transparent dome and I own that beauty too. That leaves me without any reasons to get new city space station.
>>9552193>They're cheering on the cancellationOf course they are.
>>9552169Real glad video cancer is getting cancelled
>>9552524even when I was 10, I would never destroy a lego piece. I even kept the stickers on after I disassembled them, I knew I'd never be able to reassemble the set again as it was intended.
>>9552530so what you're saying is you're stupid and uncreative. You can only build something if it only involves simple squares and rectangles. What a ridiculous self own.
>>9552761She bought me the Big Bang Theory set when it came out (she really liked the show) and I built it and had it on display for her. Eventually I took it apart so I could use the pieces for other things. She got real pissy with me because it wasn't together, acting like if the set wasn't built that I'd lose some parts. She wanted me to rebuild it, I told her to do it herself, and that was the end of that.
>>9552788>Trying this hard to twist the narrativeSorry, why are you feeling the urge to shit on a simple opinion? Do you work as a modern designer for LEGO or do you literally have nothing better to do than getting mad?
>>9552794modern Lego is better than it's ever been and old sets look like they were designed by toddlers. Anyone who thinks otherwise is blinded by nostalgia.
>>9552796>Part quality went down the drain>Repeating the mistake of adding dozens of unnecessary molds and failed gimmicks>CAD designs full of embarrassing mistakes and fragile buildsOkay, so you're just a contrarian faggot who got upset over classic being a favourite.

>>9552851Yes, I WILL fuck the clown.
Reddit style fake wholesome posts have been a blight upon this general
>>9552905western weakness moment
>>9552530The fact that these sets were not perfectly polished or complex in their build is what made them a great toy. As a kid, I'd look at a set like this and see the blacksmith tools, castle walls and accessories and already start to imagine what I could add or build onto it or use the parts for.I really dislike the idea of lego sets being single-use models for kids. At a certain complexity, there's nothing left to finish off and it feels like a chore to rebuild. Not to mention how even kids view sets as "rare" or "investments" today. Lego should be about making your own thing and creating your own stories for it.
>>9552522Lmao you got it all backwards dude, Afols gobble up anything made by lego, regardless of its bad or not, they will defend any shitty thing about lego, from its dip in quality to it constantly vomiting out dust collectors, just like goblin face bitch or any of the lego master fags, people here are constantly trashy lego for its fag designers and dip in quality
>>9552522uuhhhm I'm an AFOL and i actually do masturbate to unconventional minifig skincolors thank you very much?
>>9552914>trashing lego for its fag designersnaw Jamie Berard is based, his modulars were great and he actually was proactive about legal or stressed pieces in sets
>>9552912These days if you buy a set it has such a specific color scheme or build that trying to expand or modify it requires a B&P/BL purchase. I don't give a fuck about teal, coral or whatever if they only use it for a few specific parts. Bricks are bricks.
>>9552919Ok so there are a few of you afags here, but that just comes with the territory of being on an anonymous chat board

>>9551648>>9551582Futuron just so happens to be one of my favorites too. Truly a blessed faction. Here's my set-up. Hasn't been dusted in a long while. I have all of the original set and quite a few MOCs. Some MOCs are better than others but I just can't seem to bring myself to take anything apart. The pictures are old (from 2018), I've made quite a few new builds since but haven't had time to take new shots. >>9552766One of the CS sets I am looking forward to. 2022 should be the year to get it I suppose. >>9552837The guy with the axe in the bottom right set looks like he means business.
Alright, so my birthday is next week and I've got the day off work. It's been a tradition of mine for several years now to build a large Lego set on my birthday and this year won't be an exception, but I want your help in choosing a set to build. As far as big sets in my backlog go, I have the following:>Mos Eisley Cantina>Corner Garage>The Roller Coaster>Pirates of Barracuda BaySo what should I build?
>>9552885Sariel is BASED
>>9553033barracuda bay sounds perfect as a fun birthday build, i enjoyed it a lot myself
What are your opinions on the original Ninja line?
>>9553066kino, the ninjas were my favorite minifigs back in the day
>>9553066The Castle one? Pure fucking gold, the grey ninja was the character I played with the most as a kid.
>>9552937It’s only a few guys. The rest of the general hates them. >>9552914What universe are you from? They will only defend lego original stuff, like that horrible new “”””school”””” set. They will happily kick and scream about everything else.
>>9553110>>9552937I don't hate them. Some of them can look pretty cute or pretty good even. I'm just sad the majority of parts aren't useable for me except the hair as i'm not gonna use them in my world.
>>9552766That's exactly how my thoughts about the City base turned out. At some point I realized that I could already build a similar and better base with the dome pieces I had from the Futuron monorail.
>>9552805I love it because some dumb retard bought the one I had several years ago for $800.
>>9552796The design was dictated by the limited range of parts and colors. But this also made the sets more versatile. You could use the parts of a castle set and use them for a ship and it still looked like a real set.
>>9552937Noctura is the only acceptable minidoll
>>9553033Either Barracuda Bay or the Cantina.
>>9552541do a review once it's done, been eyeing that set myself too
>>9552885>REEEEEEE, LEGO® didn't send me anything for free
>>9553066Excellent, and a lot more palatable than Ninjago's endless mechs and supercars
My nephew knows I am into Lego and asked for help on his Lego city (pic related). How can I help him with this bros?
>>9553260throw it away, replace it with the new matchbox action drivers play sets. They're cheaper and much better looking than lego.

>>9552777>t. radio star
>>9553260Start beating him, looks like he has autism or some other mental retardation, beating it out of him should do him good.
Is anyone here taking advantage of the new release of the Lego Collectible coins? I am trying to get the whole set.

The result of buffing a canopy with a bench grinder. Worked really well, made it nice and shiny but maybe I need to go over it with a rougher grit first to get rid of the deeper scratches instead of just the fine finish one. Not as good looking as a brand new piece, but at least it has some shine again.
Here's the result on some tiles. They weren't too worn out but they had some wear and tear on them and now they look much better.Side note, look at all the fucking 2v2 tiles that broke when placing them on a plate to buff them, thanks Lego!
>>9553260Turn the whole thing into a train station with the track running through it.
>>9553432Not bad, not bad at all. Would removing the deeper scratches make the plastic too thin?>>9553439The blue pieces hate you for some reason.
>>9553511Most of my pieces are from around 2006-2012 or so. Lego must have had some real quality control issues with blue back then because I'm finding countless brittle blues of all types of parts.
>>9553578The water cooler is turned that way so people getting water don't have to stand in front of the fucking front desk and take up space. There's a fourth wall that extends
with your imagination
>>9553578you forgot the one orange 2x2 tile with one stud in the middle next to the water cooler.
>>9553527Based on what I’ve researched, there was a point in time, maybe a decade ago, where Lego messed up their blue pieces and they ended up becoming fragile. So it isn’t surprising that you’re getting a lot of brittle blue pieces, because they’re probably from that time period. As far as I’m aware, that problem is fixed already, so modern blue pieces should be fine.
>>9553578>>9553580No wait I figured it out, I'm retarded and misplaced the cooler.
>>9553583Worse, I placed the cooler on the 2x2 tile with one stud since LEGO's been doing that crap a lot themselves recently.
>>9553586You misplaced multiple things, including the counter and the orange tiles on the floor.By the way, what set is this?

>remember these Avatar lego sets>remember being in Wal Mart decades ago, these kits were on clearance and they had like 20 of them on the clearance isle but I thought it was such an ugly piece of shit kit I completely ignored it>It's not worth over $500 sealed, $300 usedThe fuck? See, this shit I just cannot understand. I knew this was a piece of shit kit when it came out, and it's still a piece of shit kit of grey blob pieces, completely uninspired to this day and yet consoomers are willing to pay $500 for a sealed kit. The fuck? It's just one of those things I look back on and regret not doing it. I used to browse the clearance isles at Wal Mart all the time back then and picked up quite a few good kits on clearance, for example the original Lego Batman kits didn't sell well at all when they came out, and I bought several of the Tumblr sets from TDK that came out around that time at Wal Mart and sold them for like $400 sealed at the time a few years later. I don't even know if you can even get deals like that anymore, I don't buy kits in stores anymore so I don't even know if Wal Mart ever does any clearance stuff like that anymore, or if the clearance kits these days are even going to be worth anything in the future considering how popular lego is these days.

Would highly recommend picking it up now before the price inflates too high. I think it will go down as a modern classic. My only gripe is I kinda wish they threw in a cool minifig. Usually I dont care about minifigs, but this set just has 2 minidolls that aren't really that cool. You also get a weird brick built space cow thing as the pilot but you do get a Unikitty which is kinda nice getting one of those.

>>9552608I made up GameofThronish stories with all the castle factions. Dragons and Lions were the main factions. Falcons were mercenaries that could work for either side. Forestmen held control over the forest inbetween and were allied with the Dragons. Wolfpack was a faction that raided travellers in the insecure borderlands.

>>9552608There were two different main time periods: a high-tech version of modern-day Town/City that blended Town and Space, and a post-apocalyptic future with pockets of high-tech remnants that blended Space and Castle. The Space Town scientists had invented a wheeled robotic time machine (the closest I came to having a sigfig) and were engaged in efforts to cause the bad-end future to never come about because the main villain was a product of that timeline. The post-apocalyptic future blended Castle and Space, where the castles were full of Futurons fighting with swords and laserguns.Pirates were a separate time period and didn't mix with any of the other stuff unless someone traveled back to that time, as it was simply the shared past of the other two timelines.

Why did Lego decide to get bogged down with overly complex custom minifig heads for licensed themes?
>>9557332You know it's bad when playmobil unironically has more soul than current Lego
FINALY I HAVE HER
>>9557332Pretty bad example desu
>>9557366You're not allowed to have her any more.
>>9557332Custom minifig heads makes sense for non-human characters like the Muppets though, I don't see it as any different as the alien heads from Space Police 3 for example. The Simpsons heads looked off cause they were just too big for minifig bodies and could easily have worked with regular yellow heads.
>>9556737Galaxy Squad was better than it gets credit for. A lot of people didn't love the bug-centric sets, but everything in the line was good. It needed 1 more wave. It performed poorly enough that it sabotaged IP Space for going on a decade now.
>>9557425Space Police III was pretty good too. Honestly though, Lego needs to get back to basics and do simpler concept kits for space. There would actually be a decent market to bring back something like Blacktron or the other older space themes.
>>9556501Repurposed the stand for my ModPod MOC into a perch for this guy>>9556579Claw colors (and the color scheme in general) are rough, I’m just using what I have for now
>>9557485Looks like the little birds in the expanse from season 6
Which one is your favorite?Personally, I like the one from 2009 the best, the one that came with the Battle for Endor set (8038). I just feel like the size is perfect and the modern ones feel way too large. There's no reason a fucking AT-ST should cost $50, it should be a $30 set max.
>>9557519I like the middle 2 best. Also, the one on the far left looks kinda funny. It looks like a MOC I would make, complete with the janky colors.
>>95575192, 3, and 4 all have their merits.>>9557469>pretty goodThis exactly. It was fine. The bad guy sets were pretty obviously better than most of the actual space police, but the whole thing felt gimmicky in a way I can't quite put my finger on. When you look back at classic space all the way up through the 2000ish, there wasn't much conflict in the themes. They were more like rivals. I think there is room for revival there. Space mining or space archaeologists on dangerous worlds. Maybe a faction of space bandits trying to steal from them or sabotage them, but the whole thing needs to feel more exploratory in nature. I would be all in on on 2.0s for almost any of them, but I think TLG really missed the boat by not doing something like Ice Planet 2022 as something bright and fun for kids, but also an homage to those kids parents from 2002.
>>9557546>>9557546What's the excuse for this guy not having an updated neon orange transparent chainsaw instead of a sword and shield? He could have been a central character as Commander Cold 20 years later and 25 years after the theme.
>>9557563Like, I dunno, somewhere in this direction.
>>9557563It's Cold before he was drafted to Ice Planet Force.
>>9554808BrickEconomy is very inaccurate, a lot of the 'data' is straight speculation or woefully out of date. Sets that retired a year or two ago still listed as current, vice versa. UCS Falcon is enduring through 2023 by all reliable reports.
>>9557572do all old neon orange pieces turn opaque with time, or were they originally opaque like this?I honestly can't remember but I have a ton of older neon orange pieces that are opaque like this, while all my newer ones are more transparent.
>>9557594Nice. You need to figure out reins of some kind.>>9557614I think the picture doesn't do it justice. They look more transparent in person. Not too sure if they changed the formula at some point. The quarter dome from the base is still very clear.
>>9557098Old shoe box>>9557115I like Star wars and am liquidating my warhammer, as for buying sets I'm not a 100% on when there are a series of "special edition" I might as well get them all, I don't hate any of the kits the atrt is less ideal and the pod racer is out of place but honestly the pod race part of episode 1 was cool as fuck 20 odd years ago. So me getting back into lego after 20 something years the city stuff look way out of place near anything I have and other than Pirates of Barracuda Bay the pirates line has been dead for a while.
>>9557641>Old shoe boxI had no idea blind ever made shoes. do you know what they were called so I can look into it?
>>9557121Double retail is a bit of an exaggeration, retail was $90 hobbitdollars but as soon as it retired all the ones about were going for $120 to $160ish. >>9557519I like 2,4 and 6 earlier ones look too small. Might pick up 6 later.
>>9557645My guess is they licensed out they were pretty comfy and were decently hard wearing.
>>9557485Proper gentleman(I swapped the wings and as a result they fold up a little cleaner. Also moved the wing joints further back on the torso and got the base of the tail to stick out slightly less.)
>>9557662thanks anon. not sure if we got those in the US. gonna go watch what if? and then skate the driveway a bit later.
>>9557663Hmm 9 times out of 10 I’d prioritize the extra articulation, but in this case I think the shorter legs work better?

>>9557421>The Simpsons heads looked off cause they were just too big for minifig bodies and could easily have worked with regular yellow heads. But if they went with regular yellow heads, then you'd be stuck with a bunch of front-facing Simpsons, like in that episode they did that took place in the Lego version of Springfield.

Would you guys like it if they came out with a $200-$350 Classic Space Base with Monorail? What things would you want it to include?
>>9558057>with Monorail?won't happen. monorails are gone in the way of the past like raised baseplates. they were made by a company separate from lego, and they no longer exist. it is highly unlikely they will make it on their own or contract it out again.
>>9558057Monorails are never coming back. And if they did, it'd cost at least $400-500 dollars. Massive pieces and electrical bits. Pic related is the closest you'll get nowadays. The roller coaster track now fits that niche instead. The description even calls it a monorail> plus a monorail system to transport astronauts from the tower to the training grounds and rocket

Does Ninjago has an archive of sort like Biomedia Project where I can read the books and comics?
>>9558140No, because Ninjago doesn't have a dedicated team of 'tism
I back away from the internet (except skimming over /lg/) for December because reasons, and how com you guys never talked about Lego Masters Spain? I just discovered it aired during that time, and not even a mention in the archives of /toy/ or /tv/?>>9558095Related, the first challenge was for each team to make an attraction of an amusement park, and they were all connected by a good ol' monorail.
>>9558110It is the Dropship was also the cheapest but none are for sale locally or are without the minifigs sadly cheapest I've found the Dropship is $140nzd shipped.Picked up the hoth atst and a snow trooper battle pack, both were a fun build, guess the next big set in order is an at-at and make a hoth scene with the snow speeder.
What do I even do with rare parts? Half of these are not on brick link.
>>9553260all buildings have minimal walls. like a brick stack look. so he can always add to them but also make interiors he can design
>>9558262You can still list them on BL. I'm curious where you got them, but you can just take a picture and sell em for what you think they're worth. Check out the other non-mass produced colors of those parts for a price reference, they're worth at least a few bucks a pop easily.
>>9558195I don't think I ever realized that there were other international versions.
>>9553066The 98' sets color palette and builds were too similar to 90s castle. It seems like they were aware of this and tried fixing it with the emperor's stronghold in 99' but sadly that's basically the only decent sized set 99' Ninja had before the theme was cancelled.
>>9555330And just what are you going to use to wipe them off the face of the planet anyway. Perhaps, I don't know, some guns?
>>9553066The least of its sets craps all over every single ninjago set.
>>9558380what, you dont like MECHS and VEHICLES?
>>9558389Mechs are boring and all ninjago vehicles look like ass.
>>9557425The bugs needed some more outside of the hive crawler as signature sets. It's funny cause I look at pic related and can't help think that it's a hold over galaxy squad design. I think one of the big reasons galaxy squad didn't sell well was ppc was becoming a thing and the sets had a very low count comparative to price. The Vermin Vaporizer was a $60 set with barely 500pcs, the Hive Crawler was $70 at 550 pcs. Reminder that these were 2013 prices so adjusted for inflation that's like asking someone to spend $70 or $80 today.
>>9557788What are you talking about. I do not understand your point. What is a "front facing simpson"? What?

Any anons know of a good Lego Buy / Sell /Trade on a forum or image hosting site? Flickr used to have a decent one but it's pretty inactive these days.
>>9558262put them in mocs and see if anyone noticesor sell them. there's a flickr group with rare lego part collectors, if you want somewhere to just offload the lot.
For all the shitting on ninjago at least the ninjago team seems like they actually give a shit about their fans.>popular retired sets get brought back as Legacy with some improvements>ninjago sets are hands down the best bang for buckMeanwhile the rest of lego gives it's fanbase the middle finger and can't be bothered to bring back town hall or fire brigade and puts out the shitique hotel.

Why does lego hate articulation? I just got this set, the dragon is a nice build but it has dog shit articulation, the feet are fully attached to the legs and have zero articulation in the leg other than the ratchet joint at the hip, the arms are just one solid piece, even just a few mixle joints would have vastly improved the build without having to do much to any other part of the buildNothing ever has knee's, mechs, creatures etc etc, lego is a perfect medium for getting in tons of articulation yet lego consistently refuses to take the extra 30 seconds to add it inWhy?
>>9559142Because the children who test the builds for them are apparently legit retarded and they can't handle articulation.
>>9559142As said countless times before, because they consider their customer base complete idiots and use the dumbest shits available (probably some people from their marketing department) for playtesting.
>>9559197Do they give these to playtest to literal 1 year olds?I had bionicles as a kid, they had balljoints.I figured out how to make em stand just fine, children are not that fucking stupid. As a kid i honestly would be more pissed if my toys didnt have proper joints than if they didnt stand up right.
>>9559212this, the best power rangers or ninja turtle toys i had as a kid were the ones with most articulation
>>9555915I don't know, that's why I was asking for it.
>>9559212>>9559215Going to echo these post, I was also a bionicle Chad as a child, ball joints are piss easy to manipulate, same as ratchet joints and as the second poster said the more articulation I found in a toy the more I liked it, you could do so much more with itHas high speed Internet really rotted children's brains this badly?
>>9559215>>9559225I mean theres all kinds of kids, like my brother would just ram guys together and that was him fighting with the toys.I like, swung the arms around and so on, like they actually would fight. He was just a year younger, and he just couldnt be bothered to really enjoy playing with toys. But the thing is, if you dumb down all the toys to the likes of my brother, to whom a brick is all they need, then the kids who like nuance in their play will be disappointed. Meanwhile, my brother could still play with bionicles that had proper articulation, but he would just ram em together. So i feel like Lego is approaching this problem from the wrong angle.Like firstly, kids need to be taught how to play. Some parents would be surprised that that doesnt come naturally. And thats why you have toys that essentially play themselves.Legos are something you have to teach a kid to play with, they need to be part of the build process, and then you need to (at least early on) be there with them to show them how to play with em.I think this is Lego having to adjust to parents who have not taken time to play with their kids, and or their "playtest" sessions are poorly handled.
Why do lego instruction books have a qr code for digital instructions? I get that digital instructions are great to have access too just in case you lose yours or want to look over a build before you buy it etc etc but when building a new set does any one honestly get the instruction book, scan the code, download the instructions, then build? Why would you bother when the physical instructions are literally in your hand?
>>9559265I don't do all that, but I recently got an additional monitor to keep in portrait and it's phenomenal. the manual no longer takes up room on my desk, and I can tell the colors apart much more easily. I wish I'd done this sooner.
>>9559265the 2000+ piece sets have such large instruction books that it's much more convenient to have it on a screen than having it occupy a half of your desk

SPEED CHAMPIONS JAMES BOND SET COMING
>>9559328you post your source right goddamn now
RECAP OF LEAKS:>Avatar 2 sets are coming this fall, info from GreekBricks and HothRebel from EB>6 Indiana Jones sets are coming in the fall based on the previous 4 Indy films, confirmed by HothRebel and Falconfan at EB>Speed Champions will have 3 movie based cars sets>One is for James Bond Aston Martin, first Bond minifig>Second is Fast and Furious, Dodge charger, first Dom minifig>Third set is unknown for nowThis is going to be a good year licensechads
>we are finally getting a Bond minifigbetter be Connery
>>9551538Lego DUNE WHEN?
>>9559335oh baby this is going to be nice.here's hoping that it'll come with more than one Bond. Connery in white, Moore in a tannish coloured suit, Brosnan in black.

>>9559352I hope it sells enough for Lego to say "ok, we make 007 a theme and a lego 007 videogame"This with Indy back and Avatar 2 sets is fucking cool
>>9559356Explain, it's confirmed by reliable leakers to happen
>>9559353It would be cool until you see what lego would actually sell, they would completely gut it and make it look really shit
>>9559363They were more lax with military vehicles in 2007 but in 2022 with the faggot head designer in charge, they are not gonna make any sets with military vehicles, especially not 1940s German military vehicles, simple as. Maybe if they just make sets based on the archology sites in the movies it would work.
>>9559366They can't fuck it, we could even get a D2C
>>9559332Couldn't they just use the ghost rider car for doms charger.
>>9558977You should play Star Wars Pod Racer
>>9559371>They can't fuck it,Are you new to lego?
>>9559369The army will be minifigs with not nazi or commie printing again, you wont see a tank. The biggest question are the military planes but Wonder Woman also had a WWI plane. >>9559399We might get a Quaritch minifig, fuck I hope they do the AMP suit.
>>9559381Going to do this in reverse order, here is a moc someone made (and provides free instructions for) it's simple, sleek and looks goodNext post will be an official lego model that looks like dog shit in comparison

>>9559419Are you blind anon? The moc is far nicer, smooth shape, no giant blocky outcrops, isn't riddled with holes
building with the instructions on a screen is incredibly superior. you faggots complain about how badly they're printed and that the colors are shitty, but if you don't just deal with it you're a retard or whatever. fucking idiots. also building on the floor like an actual child and thinking you're better for it, is actually autistic.

>>9559425Official ones don't need parts forming for the astromech, the moc is too smooth doesn't look like lego might as well get an action figure one.
>>9559332Sounds like shit I have no interest in purchasing
>>9559405>>9559409>>9559402>it's simple, sleek and looks goodBe that as it may, is it stable and playable? If the body's only one brick thick like it looks that it'd be trivial to snap one of the wings off
>Is named Lloyd>His dad has black skin>His dad walked out on his family to choose a life of crime and villainy>His mom dumped him at a boarding schoolLloyd confirmed black
>>9560467black kids dont go to boarding school dipshit
>>9560686You should've seen the quality of it though. Definitely ghetto level.
>>9552423Yeah no shit. Afols are lego's largest costumer base. They keep losing the kids. That's why they went end changed the packaging to black and slapped 18+ on it. Though this will inherently kill Lego. They are too focused on making specific sets for specific demographics instead of just making great sets.
>>9561576This. Once those manchildren start dying off, there won't be any base of consumers with disposable income who have nostalgia for Lego.
