Both of those are pretty retro as far as prevailing aesthetics in the hobby (the one on the left I know is a default fullset from a Soom Mecha Angel from the mid-00s), it's become kind of hard to find even though basically all the outfits used to look like that. Browse the secondhand marketplace or Mandarake.

Oh he has reasons, his reasons are just things like:
-Said something he didn't like on social media
-Sold a Smart Doll they no longer wanted
-Complained about anything Smart Doll related up to and including receiving defective goods
-Bought a doll for someone already banned (or he THINKS you did)
-Failed the gauntlet of questions you have to answer before you're allowed to buy his products for the first time (I'm not joking)
-Live, geographically, near someone else he has banned (he has a fucking map! He has asked people if they know so-and-so who lives near them unprompted! This man markets to children!)
-Repaint your Smart Doll
-Mod your Smart Doll
-Know someone or even just follow someone who was banned
-Buy secondhand Smart Dolls
-This isn't even all the reasons I've heard of people being banned, I honestly can't remember all of them anymore.

Basically if you aren't sucking his dick 24/7 you run the risk of getting banned from his store and he might also send his sycophantic fans to come harass you, too.

Can you guys help me brainstorm some doll crafting ideas? I was given a bunch of leftover crafting material after helping plan my friend's bridal shower, including a bunch of unopened polymer clay (not sure what the MOH was going for there). I make clay earrings for humans but that's not really an option for most BJDs. I feel like resin dolls are way too heavy for furniture made out of polymer clay too.

Smaller resin dolls could probably be fine, YO-SD et al. But a good option would be small foods -- cakes, cookies, bread, pizza, whatever you want to make. Other goods would also work -- toys or crafts on a doll scale.

>>
>>9505115
As a general rule, you cast something hard in a soft mold, and cast something soft in a hard mold.
You can do soft in soft and hard in hard, but there are more precautions/considerations to take.
Your methods will realllyy depend on budget, time, tools access, etc. as well as your own preferences on methods.

Part of me wonders if it's because... it's free real estate, or advertising.
So as long as the person who is painting the doll is happy to be there, they're essentially selling smart dolls to their audience, so Danny has less reason to snipe?

I don't know anything about dolls. I don't even know if this is the right thread. A friend just gave me this and all I know is its apparently a $500 doll that my friend also got for free. She's really cute so I want to know if there's anything I need to know about taking care of them and where to get clothes and accessories. Thanks.
>>
>>9518945
that's an Angel Philia Elle (I just got one myself)
and yeah it's a $500 doll new but Ellie & Elle have been rereleased the most so idk
AP are Obitsu-framed (Obitsu 50cm skeleton w/ shortened tibia = 48cm)
you may have trouble finding clothes for her because AP proportions are a little… different from other weeb dolls
AP-brand clothes are a bit expensive and sell out quick, and only sold in Japan
based on the grey heart eyes I'm going to make a random guess and say it's the newest Elle release (like mine) — are her torso & thighs super soft vinyl? if so you may want to look into stuffing them e.g. with poly-fil
the soft vinyl is supposed to make them extra-posable (Obitsu skeleton already does a good job) and it works, it can just deform a bit too much depending on the pose/clothes
as a vinyl doll maybe >>/jp/37514638 is more appropriate? there's some overlap between the threads
anyways congrats and sorry i've been drinking a bit it's christmas after all

Her thighs are super soft and she's very flexible, yes.

If clothes aren't readily available that shouldn't be much of a problem. I can sew and do leather work, just never done it at doll scale.

I had a hard time who was the sculptor of the doll. It's not anywhere in the website, he only credits his "team". I remember reading his blog and I thought he designed the whole thing because in one of the photos he was basically working on a copper mold. Then an anon said he probably didn't do everything.

So I figured he probably didn't sculpt it or worked on the engineering of it. I really like the sculpt of this doll but I heard a lot of stories about him that made it really hard to invest in one. I'll probably buy one just because I really like the sculptor, but I'll make sure I'll buy used. The name of the sculptor is Nanami Junko and here's his portfolio: https://ronshuka.jp/

Do you know if he created that artwork or did he commission that art?

I wish he released 1/3 dolls for other companies.

I meant, he has worked with Azone on 1/3 dolls too. So I'll take a look on those in the future. Or just skip the SD and go for the Obitsu. It's nice that you can custom Obitsu a lot.

Smart Dolls have their strengths and weaknesses like any other doll. I have several, and was able to get them all second-hand. #smartdollsale and @smartdollsales are good tags to follow on instagram. The company owner, Danny Choo, is unfortunately a lunatic.

>>
>>9526185
>>9526175

I'm not a redditor lol

I found out the info on myfigurecollection.com and he has this on his page: https://ronshuka.jp/smartdoll/

But yes, I do think that he only worked in a couple of dolls. He's probably not related to it anymore. So did Danny do the whole thing? The body and so on?

By the way, it's just speculation, I'm not confirming anything. I just couldn't find info on the sculptor on the page. The dolls are really pretty.

I like the fact that they are all different, actually. I'm just afraid of these stories. Maybe they are overblown. I don't know, people make a lot of drama on internet too.

"Normal" will just end up with a lot of dolls with the same heads, clothes etc. You'll also have to endure the fact that dolls are probably "problematic" to most "normal" people who are younger than 30.

There aren't a lot of hobbies that are both interesting and normal. Hobbies with normals consist of watching Netflix shows, watching soccer/sportsball, 'shopping' and maybe gaming, but only Fortnite, vallheim and whatever is popular this month.
All other hobby's contain a large amount of cringe tier autism, but those people are also the ones who are willing to dedicate their life to supporting their hobby's be it monetarily or creatively.

So, I've been wanting to get a doll for a couple years. There was a resin doll I had my mind set on years ago, fortunately I've lost the pictures and forgotten who made it because I remember it being very expensive, and even though I have more money than sense it's probably wise not to spend a truly obscene amount of money. Since then I decided I'd probably get a dollfie dream. 2-3 years ago, I was told that my best bet would be to keep checking the volks site until they released a limited doll with faceup I like. But, uh, that hasn't really happened. So now I'm considering just buying a blank head and commissioning something, since there's absolutely no chance I could produce something worthwhile myself. Are there any English-speakers who do worthwhile work? Is commissioning common? Where would I go for this?
>>
>>9529769
Even before realizing I liked monster-girls I always enjoyed cute doll women, cyclops, giants/half-trolls, etc. Very cute. Makes me think of a cyclops related to both Milim Nava and Rimuru from Slime Reincarnated. I've come across a hybrid doll/figure of Rimuru I might get only 1/6 unlike the DD 1/4 of Nero Claudius from Fate. >>9532247
When I used to frequent conventions a few tomboys got people into the BJD panels and some of the long haired guys that were slowly getting into it. Always been a lurker/admirer for a long time since I saw a Japanorama with Johnathan Ross talking about Supah Dollfie in '05 and I've been hooked since.
>>
>>9532971
ShiNeS Workshop on Etsy is reputable and does great work. Niyamiya (also on Etsy) also has heads for sale; I'm not sure if they take commissions, but they do good work. You can also check listings on Yahoo Japan Auctions, which is where most custom heads come out of, to see if one you like (and can reasonably afford) comes up. Volks has 'standard' models as well that you might like -- DDS Karin is a particularly popular default doll from what I've seen. Is there any specific style you're looking for, anon?

There's a vinyl-centric thread over in /jp/ where people might have more relevant experience, as well. >>>/jp/38002096

I mean, I have some ideas for what kind of personality I'd want her to have, but I don't think there's anything specific I'd want referenced. But, I'd want her to be unique instead of mass produced. Not so much that I need a completely unique head, but at least some bespoke faceup. I'm sure you know what I mean. Thanks for the shop recommendations.

And yeah, I know of the /jp/ thread, that one is just extremely slow, so I figured I'd ask here.

Also, I found that doll I was talking about. I remember years ago hearing that the producer wasn't that great, but I absolutely fell in love with this face hard.
>>
>>9533210
get the one you fell in love with. i cant remember how bad ringdoll is atm, but you should be able to find her secondhand now that you remember which mold she is
>>
>>9533231
According to the site, she was pretty limited. Only 15 were produced with the faceup. I suppose I could pay someone to replicate it, but it also seems like the non-painted version was also limited? The page is a little engrish so it's hard to tell. They don't seem to sell the blank head by itself, either. All that makes it seem like it would be pretty expensive to get ahold of second-hand, if anyone is even selling. Or maybe I'm just completely wrong and retarded about all this, since I'm completely green.
>>
>>9533210
There's a Ringdoll Alice fullset on Mercari right now, but she doesn't have this exact faceup.
>>
>>9533286
So there is, thanks. I've never even heard of this site before. The faceup on this listing looks similar, though. I wonder if Ringdoll cheaping out on production models is why I'd heard they weren't that great. Either way, the price isn't as bad as I expected. I suppose I'll have to think hard and fast about whether I want to snag it.
>>
>>9533295
You can always message the seller, and usually if you add her to your likes or cart they'll shoot you a coupon that helps with a price a bit. Mercari is basically what ebay used to be, basically an online yard sale.
>>
>>9533240
you JUST said you wanted a unique doll. just pay someone to redo her like you want

saw pics of bjds on tumblr and loved them but they were way too expensive. then found out about recasts from anti-recasters in the tumblr tags, which i could afford and i bought several. i own legits now that i'm older and have a good job, but it still makes me lol that i would have never even known recasts existed if it weren't for all the loud anti-recasters. i think that's true for a lot of people and more recasts actually end up being sold b/c of these screechers
>>
There's a Shinku fullset up for sale in the #bjdsales tag. Costs a pretty penny, though.
>>
>>9542477
The "I bought several" part makes me think this is some subtle bait. Recasts are still like a hundred bucks, anyone who buys several could also have afforded a legit from a nice company.
>>
>>9542792
they were a few minifees which cost ~$50 each so about ~$150 total. that's only enough for a resinsoul basically, which i didn't want
>>
>>9542880
Fifty dollar recast MNFs? This...is not a thing. Unless you found them secondhand.
>>
>>9542792
I don't know about
>>9542880
But this is a definite phenomenon. Poorer people will see a 'good deal' and end up spending significantly more than if they had simply saved and bought the more valuable (but highly quality) product.
My mother spends at least a thousand dollars each year on dollar-store clothing just because it's on sale and 'she might wear it eventually, or someone might want it' but she was absolutely inconsolable when I spent ~$300 of my own money on a lolita brand dress while I was living at home.
>>
>>9542998
Actually yeah this makes sense.
Even if each MNF really were $50, if there's at least $20 in shipping for each one and at bare minimum $30 to get each a wig and clothes (I'm charitably assuming it comes with a faceup and eyes already) number-wise their statement that several recasts were attainable while a good legit company wasn't does not make sense. But with this kind of blind spot, especially if they were a teen as kids don't have great critical thinking anyway, it does.
>>
>>9542880
Miss Nekotaku has a shit ton of cute critters for around that price, and there's also vinyls like Parabox (Obitsu) for that price. Plenty of options, but many of them are also recent. I'm sure the landscape was different back then.

>>9542998
This is why I manage my (elderly) father's finances for him -- he lived during the Great Depression and the "penny smart, dollar stupid" mindset is way too entrenched to treat it now. It's very hard to get out of the mindset when you endure hardship, that you should spend money now while you have it because inevitably something will take it either way, so might as well fix the water heater or stock up on groceries, etcetera. My mother was worse (I won't get into it here) but it's absolutely something a lot of people from that background will struggle with.
>>
>>9543024
There were still plenty of affordable options along those lines, mostly the small Obitsus. They had already come out with the 11cm chibi ones (which has been around for over a decade now) at the time when recasts stopped being a rare relatively unknown thing and became widely available. I'm assuming anon just didn't look much, or else did not want a vinyl doll and wanted a large resin doll.

you're way overestimating how much cheap 1/4 wigs & clothes cost on ali. you can get a wig and a full outfit for $5 each. not good quality obviously but yeah

>>9543024
i mean i wanted minifees specifically. i'd wager that the vast majority of recasts people buy are minifees? i swear these are always the example dolls used in anti-recaster posts about how bad the insides look and stuff too which is a terrible idea, luring people in with the arguably most popular pretty dolls out there, telling people these are really cheap and look fine on the outside "but don't buy them!!!" yeah... that's basically advertising recasts to young broke people instead of dissuading them. i think not talking about recasts at all would result in less people even knowing about them in the first place
>>
>>9544038
> i think not talking about recasts at all would result in less people even knowing about them in the first place
The things is, if someone knows basically nothing about BJDs other than the term and what they look like, the highest results for sales listings on Google and eBay are all going to be recasts and you'll pretty much stumble across them before you see a single legit site, hence why people try to warn newbies about them. They are, of course, assuming that goodwillfor artists will outweigh the urge to buy a cheap pretty thing, which is a lot to expect from minors with little disposable income, but I think it works mostly as intended (or at least warns more potential accidental buyers than it attracts purposeful ones) with adults.

I have an Alice and I like her, I had no quality problems. Not sure what the rumors said about the maker. Maybe it's just that their promo pictures make the dolls look really really good. But they won't look that good under normal lighting. Maybe even photoshop was involved. Here is one photo, and you can check youtubes or other amateur photos as for what to expect.
As said, I like her. A possible surprise/downside is that she looks kind of derpy without long bangs, and also it's best if the wig covers her jawline if you want to look at her from the side. So she kind of needs the same setup as in the promo photos.

If you like her, then go for it. I'd imagine she'll be harder and harder to get as she's out of production.
Right now they're doing an 1/4 version of her too, but that one doesn't seem to have the same vibe. Not sure. I ordered a blank head of the 1/4 version to stand in as a little sister. We shall see how she turns out.

small obitsu barely count as BJDs. I had an 11cm and hated it. It always fell apart. They're very cheap plastic (worse than any ali recast I've encountered) and the barbie-sized ones are just more expensive barbies.as someone who started with recasts and progressed to physially travelling to japan in person (precovid, lol) to buy limited legits, I'd never rec obitsu to anyone who wants a bjd. It's the same kind of wasting money to approximate the experience that could be saved for a real legit bjd, except the actual bjd experience will be better with a recast.

this doesn't apply to people who want and like vinyl and small vinyl dolls, but if you want a minifee and buy an 11cm you might as well toss the cash in the trash

no it means they havent made enough off the fake DD to cover the costs of the next molds or to make it worthwhile. keep in mind only 1 body and possibly 2 heads have shown up so far for DDs
>>
>>9546248
Not enough money in it. I'm still surprised the DD replicas exist to begin with.

Despite what vague stats Choo may have alluded to to the contrary, Smartdolls are significantly less popular than DD in worldwide sales, and especially in the East, which is where recasters and bootleggers are paying attention to.
>>
>>9545999
>this is 100% a "buy the doll you want, not a doll in your budget" thing
I support this philosophy
But the solution is save, not buy a recast, lol. Fairyland isn't going to be hurt by it, but the recasters will use that money to buy out and replicate small companies and single artists and that has actively driven small makers out of business, so it sucks for the rest of us when a kid who can't be patient loads up on several recasts instead of saving for a legit.

I did end up buying her off that listing. I don't really have anything to compare her to in person, but I'm pretty happy with her. I was actually a bit nervous, since the sellers pictures looked kinda awful to be blunt. Fortunately, I think she looks almost as good as the promotional images in person. Crazy how a camera can make things look either better or worse than real life, depending on whether you can work a camera (pic related, I can't work a camera for shit).

Unfortunately, I don't have a brush small enough for for, so her wig is gonna stay messy for a bit. Gotta invest in some more clothing, too. Any suggestions?

>>9545804
Yeah, she has a little bit of damage, from the manufacturer (if the seller is to be believed). Doesn't seem like anything too serious though. One of the cuffs is missing a catch for the hook, and it should be easy enough to sew a loop on. One of the chains on the skirt is broken, too. But I think it's metal so I might try and solder it. Failing that I'll just use some CA glue or resin.

>>9545890
IMO, there's a difference between poor and being broke. Being a "poor person" isn't just about how much money you have in the bank, it's a state of mind. A detestable state of mind. There's nothing wrong with being broke, just don't be a poor person.

Cute, I'm glad it worked out. And a full set too. I managed to get one of the last dolls on stock, just the plain doll with faceup, her dress was sold out by that point. Even then I was so paranoid if I can get the doll at least.
One thing I want to make is a set similar to her original, I liked how it's not just your usual dress.

I guess you already have two wigs if you got the full set, but I'll plug it anyway. Image related is the wig I got, and this picture was the reason I wanted to have an Alice in the first place. It's possible that the full set already comes with the lighter version of this, they do look similar.
One day when I'm confident with faceup, I'll make her smile like this too.

EvannKim on Flickr also has some nice scenes with an Alice.

Is Hina's Collection on Facebook the only shop that does custom clothing? She was the only one I could find. Has anyone commissioned her before? I like the look of her past work, but she charges high prices so I'd like to hear from other people before buying something. I searched through the archive but couldn't find anything.

Who else would you recommend? Instagram artists or Twitter users? I like the lolita style, but it's too impractical to wear myself so I want my girl to wear it. Pic related is the kind of clothing I like.

Depends on what sort of detail you're looking for and the size.
Meicosh House does lovely sets, and she does so with design requests. Mostly works with popular dolls, MNF, Culurs, etc.
Saphar_BJD_tailoring does pretty good costuming, and seem open to try lots of styles.

Those are the first two off the top of my head
>>
>>9554907
This outfit is so fucking cute.
>>
>>9554925
Right? This seamstress makes me wish I owned a MNF.
>>
I have a doll I'm having trouble finding a wig for. She's a Dream Valley Calle (the tiny giraffe centaur) and her head is so small and shaped strangely, too, due to her horns. I'm beginning to understand why DV made resin hair parts instead...
>>
$170 USD shipping is the cheapest option for a future order I'm putting in, heaven help me. I don't know how people with multiple 70cm dolls do it.
>>
>>9554938
So to my understanding, Calle has a 10.5cm head, meaning she has a 4 inch wig size. This is already a difficult size to shop for, but that's compounded by the fact she has a "strangely shaped head" which, rip friend ive been there. Currently deciding how to make a wig for a Gulliversmall doll and damn.

Your best bet is to buy PukiPuki and Lati White sized wigs, and ideally long hair styles as that will help conceal any oddness in the shape of the wigcap. Honestly that's a hard size to shop for, and synthetic fibres tend to look really bulky on that scale, so I'd recommend natural fibres or acrylic yarn.

There ARE people who do commissions for odd wigs, but you'd likely need to send the doll head to them.

Have you considered making one yourself? They aren't so hard to make and you can get acrylic yarn pretty cheap from a craft store. Honestly you'll be able to get the best fit by making one yourself/having a custom made one.

That one is beautiful, but holy fuck there are a ton of Russian dollmakers whose dolls look like anorexic aliens.

MSD size, and ideally a lot of details. Copying the print is really important to me. I'll give those artists a shot and ask if they can do that.

Thank you for the recs!

I need some recommendations for where to buy clothes
>>
>>9556713
What size? Any particular style in mind? Budget?
>>
>>9556772
1/3 scale. As for style, I don't really know. I just kinda want to shop around. Same for budget, really. I have more money than sense, so if I like it I don't really care if the price is high or low.
>>
>>9556781
Alice's Collections (ACBJD) is having a sale on clothes and shoes right now and they carry a wide variety of options.
>>
>>9556789

aliexpress
>>
>>9556835
I assumed everything on aliexpress was probably shit quality.
>>
>>9556713
I usually check Etsy and the Volks store. They can ship most stuff immediately.
Then amiami and hobbysearch have smaller jp brands.
The dolk store aggregates lots of makers, but their clothes section is meh. Anyway, you can browse through the dolls, and if there's something you like, their outfits can usually be bought separately on the maker's site.
>>
>>9556847
Doll stuff yeah. I'd love to see what stores anon is talking about. I've only had luck with Blythe clothes on Ali. On the flip side, I've got some really great crafting supplies from AliExpress. Lots of doll sized notions that you'd pay out the butt for elsewhere.

Taobao through a proxy like Spreenow or 42agent.
https://orchiddolls.com/doll-taobao-shops
https://mintyliciousbjd.tumblr.com/post/162126724564/bjd-taobao-shops-including-ones-ive-actually/amp
Here's some shop lists. Get a Taobao account for easier browsing. Taobao will give you a huge selection of clothes, wigs, eyes, etc.
The English-speaking dealers LegendDoll and MoonlightBJD also feature a lot of Taobao sellers, but there usually is a hefty markup involved.

If you have money to blow you can also look into Korean shops like Dollmore, Freedom Teller, Sadol or 9Style.

Mandarake and Dollyteria are Japanese second-hand stores, they usually have some brand stuff up too.
>>
>>9557715
I've never understood the proxy thing. Do you have to get a specific person to shop for you?
>>
>>9557778
i think its more like if you see something you want, you contact the proxy and then you pay them to send it to you. at least that's how i understand t
>>
>>9557778
>Do you have to get a specific person to shop for you?
More or less. Some sites won't sell to people outside their country, so you have someone in the country buy it and send it to you, for a fee.
>>
>>9557778
Basically, some sellers/stores/etc can't, or won't, ship their goods internationally. In those situations, a proxy buyer fills the gap between buyer and seller, purchasing your goods domestically and then shipping them on... for a (generally) small fee. Generally with proxy services, the experience is like using any other online retailer: you select your goods, add them to your cart, and check out using the payment processor of your choosing. After that's taken care of, the proxy gets to work behind the scenes arranging the purchase and delivery of the item(s) from the person selling them to their place of business. Once they arrive at the proxy's office, you will be contacted with a quote for the final shipping costs from them to you. It's become a very streamlined process, so if I can figure it out, I'm sure no one here will struggle.

when will my doll come home from war
>>
>>9548069
There’s a culture of buying fake stuff in Russia (they don’t see replicas as a bad thing as many shops in Russia sell fake stuff). Also, many people are pretty poor and paying hundreds of dollars for a doll is an absurd thought.
>>
Why does everyone hate the minifee sarang 19 sculpt? There’s so many of them for sale and they sit there forever.
>>
>>9556277
Yeah, the skill of the doll-makers varies, but mostly because doll-making and other similar hobbies are more popular in Russia than in some parts of the West so you get people different skill levels trying their hand at it
>>
>>9549320
She wouldn't look so unsettling if she had the proper dark skintone instead of freckly ginger skin and the proper curly hair.
>>
>>9561126
also freckles are not cute at all. I cannot understand the fetishisation of it as of late. my sister even got herself freckels tatoo. Why ?Freckles are a sign of skin damage. It's unhealthy and gross.

I am absolutely convinced that none of the white girls in the doll community who bitch about 'racial caricatures' know a single non-white person (irl) to draw comparison.

This pic is from a shitty upwards angle, but again this sculpt looks so much like my SiL it's uncanny - And she is a very attractive, very 'real' human being.
>>
>>9562053
we're calling them "racial caricatures" because we think they're ugly. i personally dont even want my dolls to look anything like an actual human

Beyond Wonderland does great custom clothes. As does saphar but i think they stopped selling (most of the really good ones among any BJD artisans always seem to eventually stop accepting commisions and end up only working on very limited or personal work, my theory is the concentration of entitled idiots in this community just wear them down with demands.)
>>
I'm going to buy my first BJD. Someone on Facebook is selling an MSD DollChateau Medusa for 700 pounds. Is that a reasonable price or for that price should I buy a new BJD? I looked up DC's website and Medusa is about half that price new. Do BJDs tend to sell for more than retail or is this person asking for too much?
>>
>>9562370
Many do appreciate in value, but usually after discontinuation. If she is still available from Doll Chateau, it may be better to buy her directly; but if she is discontinued, it would explain the price increase.
>>
>>9562380
it looks like shes still being sold on alice collection at least

>>9562380
buy her new and save some money. no one should be paying 700 pounds for her
>>
>>9562385
I concur with this anon, you can get her fullset from ACBJD for less than the cost of this person's listing. I'm unsure what the difference in shipping will be, but there may still be significant savings.
>>
>>9560960
She has a cute mouth, but something about MNF eyes just never satisfies me.
>>
>>9561473
I love those dolls so much. more for the engineering fo the joints and perfect possability than the alien design though. But I do like ayy lmaoo marfan dolls with depressive faces.
>>
>>9562053
you posted an asian chick while the doll in question has very obvious african features. What the fuck are you smocking ?
>>
>>9561131
Not specifically about freckles, but I feel this a lot about tattoos in general. Sometimes people just look at their dolls or themselves, and wonder "what else could I add" when nothing needs to be added.
Sometimes you see face ups that are all over the place, where the owner just kept adding stuff to her doll. I didn't save any of the photos, but you know which ones I'm talking about. Of course it's ok if they were going for a disturbing aesthetic in the first place, some dolls do that.

I think it's the same with tattoos for people. Hell, even make up is getting a bit out of hand. My little niece watches youtube make up channels all the time, always looking for the next thing. I'm so afraid she'll tattoo something on her face one day.
>>
>>9561473
Marinas are beautiful. I'm talking more about Pasha Pasha and Popovy Sisters. I feel like there's more in this vein
>>
>>9562645
Something strong. Who posts family on 4chan?

>>9562847
Agreed. I don't like how BJD makeup trends always seem to be 5 years behind either. There's so much of this 2016 baked/caked face going on. As long as the owner is happy I guess. One day we'll move on from rainbow eyeshadow.

Doll Chateau Snowborn, I don't remember what his body is from though. I managed to get him secondhand for a nice price. I just stripped his old face up and body blushing off as they were super amateur, the blushing looked godawful. I just pulled him out of an oxyclean bath to help whiten/clean him up. I haven't looked under proper light yet, but he looks good! My clothes, eyes, and wig finally came for him this week too! The wig is temporary though, I have mohair on the way to make one.

the secondhand market for bjds is ridiculous honestly. people think their old, yellow, chipped dolls are worth a lot more than they should be. i don't recommend ever buying a secondhand doll unless the doll is long discontinued

It's the present and future of western dolls.
I hate how politics has infiltrated everything, even my hobby where I just wanna have fun with my dolls. It's not that surprising tough, the demographic who is into bjds has a huge overlap with those who are also really into identity politics. It's funny how everyone wants to show how inclusive and politically correct they are, and that's how they call out the others who think they're doing the same.

We just had the same for this doll too
>>9549320
There's a doll, and some people think it's too "ethnic", and you can't do that, because you're probably white. You're so racist for making and having such dolls.

I actually watched this video too.
>>9566955
Practically all the American dolls listed were ugly dolls, and there were comments like
>They're a great job diversifying the doll scene
>Back then I only had white girl dolls with big eyes, eww

It would be nice if everyone could just shut up about this, and play with the dolls they like instead of trying to make statements.
