Fellow gamer.

Just using the SEGA figmaPlus set, and the junk computer that came with Rikka's nendoroid. It scales up decent enough I think.

Stiff, sturdy, solid.
I really enjoy posing him because he looks so natural. I really wished he'd come with more hands though. He only has closed fists and a grasping hands. I might have to steal some from another figure.
He also comes with black shoes and a half shin if you wanted him to wear boots from something like Mezcos.

And for only $30~$40, pretty damn good.

I have a second figure on the way because my first one got stained. Some shitty Chinese leather clothes's black coloring leeched into the plastic that was impossible to clean until I was literally started scraping chunks of the plastic away.

There seems to be quite a bit of clothes cropping up using the body as the base lately. Even some of GPSlot's new listings uses him.

thanks man, i like what i created, even though i think it's time to mix up the display a little

the car is actually holding mafex spider-men, some SHF might be too big to fit. it's a disney toybox spider-mobile, and the car is awesome.

grappling hook and tow cable in the back, chromed pipes, trunk space, room for two (and you can fudge someone sitting in the back as well). it also has huge wheels, lights and sounds, i would've loved this as a kid.

>>

actually, just to see if it'd work, i put ex-aid in the cycle and he fits perfectly fine. i remember endgame captain america being able to ride it too

it's more the car because the steering wheel and short footwell prevents taller figures from using it

LA hand an pistol sets delayed to November. Tori Factory posted some images from the instructions for their Mk 19.
>>
>>9394214
Damn. is this related to the recent chinese power outages? Didn't really think that Tomytec would get affected too. Also where can I find Tori Factory news? And did any of you guys receive your Muratas yet? Mine's not due for about a month.
>>
>>9394332
I was waiting for the hands to get in-stock before ordering the Murata set, but I may need to go ahead. LA has been largely unaffected the last couple of years, but it was bound to happen.
Plafactory_tori on twitter for the latest from Tori.

the torifactory site also updated with some really nice stuff. If any anons couldn't find the flintlock japanese rifles from the last thread these might be a decent substitute, i'll have to see the Murata first to see how they constructed it before I buy into it though.

I put together the LA L85 kit. It's an iconic gun and looks great but of the LA kits I've done so far I think it was one of the less fun builds.
>>
>>9404247
Oooh lemme guess, too many small parts? Or is one of those sandwich builds that require three parts but the middle part also composed of four different parts that you had to build beforehand? Did you have to use a bunch glue as well?
>>
>>9404251
It's definitely not as bad as some of the ones with tiny tiny iron sight pieces that will never stay on without glue or such. But there are some annoyances. The butt does require a kind of 3 part sandwich and means you can't paint it modularly. The other parts actually kind of feel overdesigned. Like it's designed to have the barrel/handguard be swappable and the scope/carrying handle be swappable and swapping the scope/carrying handle also requires swapping the front sight, so it's a bunch of extra complexity and potential lost/broken parts that I don't really think is necessary. The scope has a kind of sliding lock mechanism which is kind of loose and I can imagine some people might get ones with worse tolerance that are looser. There's a part that slides through both parts of the hand guard too and my first attempt at sliding in just made it snap in half. Luckily it had a tiny bit of connection left and I was able to get it all the way through in the end.

It's not like I hate the kit, but I won't be buying any extras to paint differently. I'll get the L86 when they release it though.
>>
>>9404295
I get the modular design thing they’re going for, but it would REALLY help if they told us which parts to glue beforehand so I don’t accidentally seal shit and I know what parts are swappable. Also they have these extra “collectible” parts that are meant to be used for other completely different gun and they never tell you what it’s for so I have a whole separate cabinet of extra LA shit

Are the straps good enough to hold that backpack onto place or do you have to use the peg? I want to give some of my Kamen Riders the minigun but obviously they have no hole on the back.

>Are the straps good enough to hold that backpack onto place or do you have to use the peg?
I'd say so it's very light, the straps are made of a rubber material and with threading method provided in the assembly book its adjustable. My octane fig doesn't have a hole in the back just some peg for mounting a gun and it's pretty sturdy. Depending on the figure, this octane for example was more trouble than it's worth to remove the shoulder joint, you may need to remove the strap from one side and use a pair of tweezers to retread the strap and to tighten it in place
Gonna need to buy some shooting effects

i completely forgot these are resin kits, i've literally never built one, how much different is it besides the super glue?
>>
>>9414860
alright, i'm trying to fucking build one of the kits i ordered and honestly, this is amateurish as hell, the barrel doesn't line up with the body at all, i had to basically shave off the pegs and super glue it to body, and don't even get me started on the super glue. christ, this is nowhere near the polish i was used to with LA kits
>>
It’s done. Wouldn’t recommend this kit at all. Like I said above, it wasn’t aligned properly, the pointy part where the bullets come out end up not fitting as a result so I had to shave off the barrel, one of them broke off too, you can see it on the left most gun. Parts are generally just really fragile too with the super glue, it fell out of the figma’s hands and bam, the tiny sling hook was gone. I would also recommend being careful when shaving off the barrel cause my snapped in several pieces, had to glue them up. the sling construction is fucking retarded, I’m not doing that shit, it’s literally too small and it just flings off your hand when you’re not looking. And lastly, FUCK superglue like honestly, this shit is just stressful to work with.
That’s it for my rant/review. I’m probably out of the Tori Factory game after the flintlocks and the pistol extendo gadget, sorry lads, hope you guys get better luck with these, i had that major misalignment issue on both kits and it’s left a sour impression of 3D printed kits for me. The muratas look really good though, just wish it wasn’t so frustrating to build.
>>
>>9415846
They probably should have just printed them as one piece that just left some clean up and paint work necessary. The 98K had build options that made a kit make sense, but the Muratas don't.
>>
>>9415991
idk how much different plastic molding and 3d printing are but they should've made actual round barrels for this, resin is hella fucking fragile enough as it is, and i don't think it's a good fit for peg insertion type shit, they should look into the sandwich type builds that LA does, those are sturdier

These “Micro Toy Box” things showed up at Five Below for $3 each. I picked one up on a whim and I’m going to have to stop myself from buying all of them up. They’re not especially good, but the act of opening up each of the little toys, the sticker-sheet checklist, and the stackable bins are highly addictive.

It's a long shot but does anyone know where I could get a 1:12 scale eyepatch? I can't seem to find anything since typically they get sculpted into the head

At that scale, wouldn't it be easier just to make an eyepatch?

Oh it would be easy, but I don't trust my ability to make one that cools good so if there is already one that exists I can just take from another toy then I'll go for that.
If not then I guess oll need to buy some leather.
>>
>>9456473
At that scale any actual wearable eyepatch is likely going to look bad. Just slap a little blob of clay onto the figure's eye, and make the strap from thin black tape (you can get this online, I have used it for marking off walls for painting).

Media Factory did at least 3 waves for the anime release of Beck. Not gonna be cheap these days. Ban Presto did a line of cell phone charms based on Hide's Fernandes MG series guitars. Roughly 1:12, though maybe a tad thick on the body. J.Dream has done gashapon guitars, not entirely certain how well they scale with anything.
The F-Toys set posted isn't there first rodeo with 1:12 guitars, so they may have done a specific model in an older set.

Put this together for fun. Built a quick wire frame for the tree and wrapped it with aluminum foil then sculpey. After hardening it, covered it in texture paint, laid it onto a base and set to work making an eerie forest display piece.
>>
>>9470228
The branches look really weird. Maybe make those a tad thinner. Looks great otherwise.
>>
>>9470233
Yeah, it was my first time and there was an issue with breakage and bensing during the baking process so I just thickened it up to salvage the project. Probably had something to do with the metal wire being too soft.

I'm looking to equip my SHF Dangerous Zombie with some over-the-top weaponry. I really want a fat double barreled shotgun and chainsaw, like something straight out of DOOM. I realize Doomguy is getting a figma, but I'm not sure I care enough for his new design to justify the figure as an accessory bundle.

I'd love some suggestions!

>>9472469
The price kinda sucks, but it's honestly a great set asides for the boxes.
>consoles and controllers are all perfectly detailed and painted well
>comes with paper console boxes for you to cut-out and fold up as well
>all the game disks, cartridges, and cases are blank and require stickers
>this isn't terrible, but the stickers easily come off the boxes due to their small size and corners
I haven't seen a decent replacement for these that's at a notably better price.

https://www.amazon.com/Max-Factory-figmaPLUS-Accessory-Multicolor/dp/B08DD1HTQH

And from what I can tell, the mark-up is about what you'd find on Mandarake anyways.

Those are so good, but I agree about the price. Might try to get them later if they're still up. Wish they had cables, but I figure it wouldn't be too hard to get cables for them.
Talking more about these, though, from the Takara Tomy collection. They're 1/6, but just look at that detail. Haven't seen many pictures using them, though, besides one from figma general.

While I can't say from in-hand experience, I have seen pics of the car and the ambulance with your average 1:12 stuff and they seemed to scale pretty well. At worst they may be a bit oversized and I heard they fall apart easily (as per their gimmick) but they did look nice. I been waiting for them to go on sale but they never seem to and I'm hesitant to pay full price for em myself so take that as you will.

I tried 3D printing this Les Paul model. The print fucked up for various reasons, but I got sense of how close my scale estimate was at least. Could probably stand to be a tiny bit bigger relative to a Japanese school girl, but it's a good usable size.

You could try searching through these sites:
https://www.orientaltrading.com/
https://wholesalejapan.shop/
https://www.aliexpress.com/
Oriental Trading is an old and reliable site.
A lot of what Aliexpress has is bootlegs.
Never used Wholesale Japan.

If not, I guess you could just go around your local town and see if any of your grocery stores, dollar stores, Convenience store, gas stations, or if you have any left; malls and see if their vending machines have them or similar.

While I love Tamotu and really like the metallic frames on the Pro versions, I’m kind of on the fence about Pro. >>
>>9549451
Orange is nice, but the two with colors chosen by Moderythm are the best so far. Especially because they come with two complete sets of shell sprues, so you can do a fair amount of design variation out of the box.
>>
>>9549453
Well shit, I guess I'll order those next payday. I do intend to assemble this one then decide if I'm going to paint it or not. Depends how well the orange pops irl
>>
>>9549312
Akane, one of the villains from SSSS Gridman. That's her room filled with Kaiju models and trash, you might be thrown off since the lighting is different.
>>
>>9549463
The blue and orange ones could have been better. Something about the quality of the plastic doesn’t look great right out of the box. Maybe with a topcoat they’d pop a little better, but I feel like the problem is the plastic is very slightly translucent. The black and white ones, and the Moderythm ones look good without any additional work, though.
>>
>>9549475
Thaaaat's the one, I only watched a couple of episodes which is probably why it wasn't cemented in my brain.

>>9549537
The orange one will likely be the one I modify in that case, I intend to make it look beaten up and rusted, like a well used bit of industrial equipment.
Do you think this would be a good start kit by the way? It's the first I've ever purchased.
>>
>>9549601
Nice.
Yes, the Tamotu kits are excellent starter kits, especially if you plan to weather them. The inner frame is super sturdy with thick joints, so it’ll feel very much like a toy rather than a model kit. The frame also snaps together snugly, and feel great when you’ve got it all together. The only part that you might want to do any sanding and gluing is the dome on the head, since it’s two pieces. All of the promotional shots show it as one piece, sadly.

Pic related: Orange is as it comes. White had seams welded and sanded (head, legs), then painted with white and top coated with high gloss Tamiya. Bottom is the Light Green kit showing the inside of the dome,
>>
>>9549601
>>9550096
By “excellent started kits” I mean that my 6-year old built the light green kit with me, doing all of the cutting and assembly while I did the trimming and finishing.
