So they dont work like the old mega mounts, which have this holes that fits blocks, and even had little sits so you could put your figures.
that is a little shame.
>>
>>9324802
Yup. You can still fit a figure on some, but no official mounts, and he horses/unicorns are huge

Mega Bloks WoW was underrated for some reason
>>
>>9325896
It was basically incompatible with everything else. WoW’s aesthetic (which i think is ugly normally) doesn’t fit Mega.
>>
>>9325398
Are Breakout Beasts dead? I haven't heard anything about them in a while
>>
>>9325921
I think if they did some sets with basic footmen and grunts it would've taken off better. I always thought one of Mega's biggest problems was that they never had enough basic infantry and had too many "hero" figures in sets
>>
>>9325896
>blizzard shitty idea of build your own character was worthless
>only a few races (including some of the least popular races)
>same faces and shitty armors/weapons (fucking judgement armor on a tauren)
>low quality pieces everywhere
the wow line was the perfect disaster but the ow line also flopped because of the ugly lego minis.
>>
>>9326187
>>blizzard shitty idea of build your own character was worthless
I mean, it could have easily work if sets like this included multiple heads and weapons. People do the “make your character” with the Destiny, Halo, and CoD stuff.
>>
>>9326202
Yeah not to mention it was the worst possible weapon selection like those fucking staffs from halls of origination noone like of that stupid draeanei sword that actually doesnt exist in the game and like I said giving the most iconics armor sof the line (bloodfang and judgement) to taurens and worgens was a huge mistake.
>>
>>9326210
IDK about all that. I’ve only read the books and “manga”.
>>
>>9326243
>a fucking gnome with a recolored might of menethil
>varian back when he was hated by the alliance

This is a good example of the poor choices they did back then.
>>
>>9326266
How is the selection for the CMF line? I know that guy in the middle is a Death Knight.
>>
>>9326273
The dk was a great choice
Bllodfang armor is amazing but it sucked on a worgen
The rest is just recolors of the other stuff except the paladin but I dont think that even exist in the game

Every so often someone has looked to sell here, kind of rare but it happens. I've done a fair amount of middlemanning for various anons as well (pic related, long gone now but was good times while they lasted).

If I ever get the time to organize my loose pieces back into sets, I’ll drop them in here. But it’s an exhausting task from my experience with my kid’s lego, and I’m bummed out about spending the time to do it.
>>
>>9332676
Why don't you just sell it as a lot, I wouldn't be the only one who would want to buy that from you.
>>
>>9332678
I mean, I wouldn’t be trying to turn a profit on it all, but the sheer weight of all of the sets combined would be prohibitively expensive to ship. I want to say that it’s altogether about 25lbs, give or take.

Just off the top of my head, it would include:
2X Destiny Arcadia Jumpship
2X Destiny Aspect of Glass
At least 1X of most of the Sparrows
Many single-packed figures from both Halo, Destiny, and COD
Many of the small Halo and Destiny building sets
A handful of medium and small COD sets
Train Heist
Almost all of the Inventors (Inventions?) sets of all sizes
TMNT cartoon Turtle Van and Kraang sets, some TMNT CGI cartoon and movie sets
All of the readily-available GoT sets (so not the later releases)
>>
>>9332702
Id be into all your halo destiny stuff. Why not try and split it up and sell it that way?
>>
>>9332723
That’s exactly the problem: 3 of the large Destiny ships are mixed in with an assload of Inventions and other pieces (oh yeah, you know those big tubs of terrain pieces? One of those is also mixed up in this). There’s also that hover tank and one of these in that mess >>9328768.

I grabbed as many Destiny-looking pieces as I could find and am starting with an Aspect of Glass ship. After that will be Goliath Tank Strike, Cabal Interceptor, then 2X Arcadia Jumpships.

I’ve got all of the figures sorted out already, and have the following in mostly-complete status in a few boxes.
Aspect if Glass, Cabal Harvester (this is one 100% complete), Hive Horde Attack, Sparrows, Cabal Gladiator Battle, 3-4 Halo Warthogs, and a Warzone Wasp Strike.

Build a whole castle settlement with vendor stalls, knight training grounds, king’s quarters, etc. For the main set, just re-release the GoT Castle Black set with slightly more generic figures, no wights, and at least 3 horses with tack and saddle. Other sets could include single figures with equipment, small terrain sets to place around the exterior of the castle, houses with shops on one side (like a blacksmith, a jeweler, a grocer, a meat monger, a rat catcher). Additional sets could repurpose Breakout Beasts and other dragon molds to introduce non-human conflict.

Space colonization city builder.
>Lore
Humanity began exploring the stars and you are the governor deciding the layout for this planet.
>Conflict/lifestyle
Varies. You get to decide the planet you are building the city colony on, so there will be sets with planetary guards, or there will be no need for weapons based on the wildlife.
>Named characters
No, maybe there could be a line later for a "Not-space force" line that correlates in universe with named characters.
>Basic premise
Imagine a city builder game for mega construx. Sorta like the game Satisfactory and Cities: Skylines combined. You can change it up however. There would be the base model designs for the different buildings, but they can be personally adjusted to be based on the world you desire.

Vikings/ Viking culture and mythology.
Perhaps stories based around some "hero"characters.
Same principles as the container and Skeletor Heads.
BUT you can use the sets to build bigger stuff.
So you get "fisherman's hut" "Viking Family" "Blacksmith's shop." and you can buy several to make a longhouse etc. Also some small 2-4 person "raiding boats".
Maybe "Raiding party" sets of 3-4 figures (like 2 male and one female) and maybe a "Berserker" and "Valkyrie" sets.
as for "Bad Guys" throw in a couple of single "Troll/Giant" figures and possibly some small Troll and goblin houses/boats as well as 3-4 packs of "wolves" (black, grey and white)
Kratos n son Viking set.
>>
>>9350355
This would be cool. We could get more like that viking battle ship
>>
>>9347600
>>9347213

fund it.
>>
>>9350357
They could just re-release it.
If it had the "World" that it fit in it would be more desirable to buy.
>>
>>9347213
>>9350355
have the conflict be between the viking raiders and the knights of England; you could do all the bigger castle stuff and the smaller village sets.
you could have VS sets with a couple specially painted figures.
also pull some of the Norse mythology with a giant buildable fenris, didact-height gods, breakout beast trolls, etc
>>
>>9350418
There would have to be so many black figures because that would be too racist
>>
>>9350418
Man, beast and monster sets would be so cool.

this as well. I'm more partial to space exploration stuff, but medieval with monsters are insta-buys as well. The breakout beasts work awesome with vikings.

I used to have a Venom, but I gave it away to my younger brother because he likes Marvel.

>>9351729
I had some of the Iron Man 2 sets, since they could easily be used as Halo-like vehicles, especially War Machine’s blue, sliver/grey, and black helicopter-thing. I also had some of the Spider-Man and X-men ones from before Mega did the articulated, back when they only had the articulation just like what Lego minis still have today.

Don't take one disgrunted anon's post for gospel, the reality is more nuanced. I've purchased a fair amount of these Chinese KOs of CoD stuff and while there are some bugs, overall they're decent enough. Pic is a different container; I did get the container set here >>9341853 but don't have any photos. Have to say that the renders most stores use are a bit deceiving when compared to the final product, something that's rather routine with AliExpress but I guess the differences are slight enough that they can get away with it. Most (if not all) the details such as "SWAT" and other signs are stickers, including some intended for the figures: the renders showing details on figures that are not present on the final product bother me the most, but even those I will put up with in the end.

Other store listings use stock photos of real Mega CoD figs, including their multi-component weapons, which the Chinese have not yet copied for their own figures. Usually they're generously armed and equipped (see next post) with a wide variety of materiel.

Here is what you can expect when ordering a set of figures (specifically the WW2 German soldiers in this case; modern warfare kit is mostly the same in terms of equipment but the weapons will be more up to date). The weapons here are a mix of copied Lego 3rd party armorers (BrickArms and MinifigCat notably) and modified copies of Mega guns (note the M1 Garand with bayonet removed; I have some American soldiers that included copies of Mega's Thompson and shotgun). Most of the equipment is recognizable as originating with Mega, with a smattering of other bits from different sources. Just about everything has been notched somewhere so they can be attached to the "hardpoints" on belts and webbing.

One more pic: this was the first set of KOs I purchased. There have been a few changes and improvements since, but the weapon designs in particular are still quite prevalent, likely as it's cheap and easy to toss in a sprue that holds everything a soldier could need.

Before the usual suspects chime in to caution against the usage of these weapons in Mega or Chinese Mega hands, at least without some sanding down of the grips, I will note that in my personal experience I've yet to have one of their hands break for any reason. True, I keep most of my figures unemcumbered with arms while stored, but that first batch has retained their weapons in hand for years now with no problems. I can't speak really to intermixing Mega and Chinese Mega arms and equipment, but would advise some care being taken to preserve those infamously vulnerable hands of course.

Ok one more post; occurred to me that I didn't speak much to the overall quality of the KOs so I will cover that here. Generally you're getting a similar experience that one gets with Chinese legos these days: near-parity in quality, with enough minute differences and occasional lapses in QC that set them apart from the real thing, but also reflect the lower cost of the product.
This is the first KO vehicle set I've tried and it stands up fairly well to the original that inspired it (background right in pic). There were a couple trouble spots in the KO's build (for some reason it was felt that parts of the design had to be altered for the sake of being a different build, despite the finished product still closely resembling its inspiration) but the parts quality was never in question. Eventually I want to get one of their copies of the BTR set; missed out on the Mega original and have seen enough praise for it here to give its Chinese copy a shot.

The figure selection here >>9353479
is genuine complaint. As you can see in the older incarnation of the set here>>9348517, they could have easily thrown in two more brutes or something other than marines. I’m cool with everything else.
>>

>>
>>9352988
After the leaks we are still missing that "fiesta" set.

>>9353561
What about all the other brute/covenant only packs?
>>
>>9353528
Still saying it's a bit much, they've done several versus-type figure packs in the past (pic related and the Halo 2 anniversary set with Tartarus come to mind). Speaking of pic, I was thrilled that came out right when Target made its doomed foray into the Canadian market, was able to get one before they folded. Previous Target exclusives had shown up at Walmart here but I imagine this wave was unlikely to. Come to think of it I don't believe there were any more non-TRU exclusives after this and the Last Man Standing sets.
>>
>>9353574
>>9353580
Nta and it's a valid point but I will remark that outside a couple special edition sets (the very old 5-pack and a couple of the 16-packs) the Marine Platoon is the only pure fig pack they've done of a single faction with more than 4 figs (the Last Man Standing packs don't count as while they're all various types of Spartan, four of the five figs are "zombies"). One can debate and conjecture all day why they added a couple UNSC to the Banished garrison set but it's hardly inconsistent with past sets in the line.

Thinking about it some more, this pack feels like a new incarnation of pic related, minus the vehicle. Mega did a couple of these sets, throwing together a relatively high fig count with a mid-sized vehicle at reasonable price. Would love to see those make a comeback but this new style of fig pack might be it.
>>
>>9353583
>>9353614
That’s what battlepacks are for. These unit/platoon packs are meant only for troops for a certain faction.
>>
File: combat.png (2.03 MB, 1366x3259)
2.03 MB
2.03 MB PNG
>>9353648
That's an assumption, a reasonable one but not necessarily correct. All the way back at the beginning Mega was using terms like "battle unit" and "combat unit" without strict definitions. Most of these "combat units" are indeed single-faction, but at least two are multiple-faction sets. The seemingly standard four-pack carded sets we got for years, the ones that always came with parts to build a display stand, were either all of one faction or two of each but their names followed the same pattern. The 4-pack that came with a Grunt and golden Hunter opposite a pair of ODSTs is labled "ODST Battle Unit"; one with a Brute Chieftain, active-camo Brute, Spartan Security and Marine is "Brute Battle Unit", to name a couple. Applying our own definition to something that Mega hasn't been consistent on is just setting oneself up for disappointment when they don't meet expectations.

As an aside regarding the set itself, "garrison" is an odd choice for the pack's name, given that there's no fortification or structure included for the Banished to garrison, nor is there an existing set to fulfill this role really. It wouldn't be the first time that Mega has provided for something that doesn't actually exist (looking at all you arctic UNSC pilot figs), still odd though.
>>
>>9353648
>>9353715
Would also like to point out that a couple of the Fireteam sets were called "battle packs", despite including figures of only one faction.
>>
>>9353479
I knew mega was going to fuck this.
>>
>>9353715
>>9353735
Well the platoon pack isn’t actually a platoon, it’s a squad at the most. You’re right about the inconsistent naming conventions, though. Armory packs should include one or two figures from the same faction and accessories, combat units should be figure packs consisting of figures from the same faction, and battlepacks should be the ones that include figures from both.
>>

145 KB

>>9353743
But they don't, they're at the whims of whoever is in charge of naming sets. One could always politely remonstrate with Mega over this longstanding inconsistency but it's unlikely to effect the desired change. I must be the only one who doesn't mind the set the way it is, heh. Truth be told what I'd really like to see are more non-UNSC weapons customizers packs.
>the platoon pack isn’t actually a platoon, it’s a squad at the most
True enough, and a Covenant Lance is definitely more than four. A garrison can be any number though, even a single occupant of a fortified position is technically a garrison.
>>
>>9353769
>I must be the only one who doesn't mind the set the way it is, heh. Truth be told what I'd really like to see are more non-UNSC weapons customizers packs.
I mind because you end up having way more UNSC than Covenant/Banished. Like, I know the average Halo CE Covenant squad is one Elite and three or more Grunts, and that they are typically extremely deadly. But the UNSC also has tons of vehicles while Covenant/Banished gets shafted their too. I personally like balance.

Yes indeed, having to assemble each and every fig in its entirety gets to be a trying exercise after the fourth or fifth, if not sooner. Yeah, they did the Germans pretty well, but I got a set of Americans that look terrifyingly zombie-ish by comparison. The only difference really is they didn't give the Americans eyebrows; the Fritz at lower left in pic also missed his eyebrow-painting appointment but he's the exception there, will have to get a pic of the GIs sometime for comparison.

Another case of soft plastic, heads get stuck on the head pegs. Whenever you buy an old set I recommend to offset the head from the peg with something like a drawing pin, DO NOT EVER move the head until it pops off.
Here's a small tip, sand all your head pegs, until they have minimal friction to prevent getting stuck. I also sand all of my weapon handles

On a somewhat related note: Can someone explain to me how seasons for video games work? I heard that Mega is doing stuff from the older to games to match the “seasons” for Halo Infinite. In particular, the reach set.
>>
>>9368706
every lets say 6 months they release a new season with new rewards and a pass I think
>>
>>9368934
Okay. So if the first season is Reach, how many sets can we expect?
>>
>>9368953
Well, maybe more than Halo 5 (though I’m not sure if they called them season back then) and Halo MCC, since 343i said that this game is going to be added onto for the next ten years, or something like that.

However, I have a feeling that the “adding onto for years” part is going to be unfortunate for people who can’t get an Xbox Series X. Something similar happened where a game was released on a “last gen” console and also released on a “next gen console” with Dead or Alive 5 (or one of its many iterations) where DLC kept on getting added and added, however, at one point, they just said, “Yeah, if you want the DLC we'll be releasing from here on, you’re gonna have to get an Xbox One or a PS4 and get that version of the game,” and then went on to release a crap-ton of additional DLC while ignoring the “last gen” versions of the game.

I got mine this weekend and I have mixed feelings. I'm a bit biased against the 343 characters and designs, I'll admit. I also don't think they're representative of 20 years but sure, the selection covers the franchise. I'm glad to see the characters in the top row of the box. What I don't like is Emile taking up a slot when we got him earlier, lacking ODST and Noble teams and the gold figs. Also there's 3 Chief figs. An ideal version of this set imo would have Truth, not Regret, Emile swapped out for Buck or Rookie and the gold figs swapped out for the rest of Noble team, + or - Emile. Mister Chief is just goofy enough to stay but could be replaced by either Cortana in a less awful color, some representation of the Flood or a mini Installation 04 or something.

Not a fan of the gold figs, but the parts are nice.

Upper left: Jamison Locke before being a Spartan IV, more specially his later appearance in Nightfall

Lower left: Decimus from Halo Wars 2

Middle: Maybe some sort of Elite Honor Guard

Upper right: Linda, but with different armor/helmet. Maybe some form of Mark IV armor, or Mark IV Gen 3.

Lower right: Probably one of the ODST player-characters from Fireteam Raven. If so, then it’s Victor Ramos.

I don't normally buy sets at retail price only when they're on clearnace, but I kind of want this one. Please tell me it's not an exclusive.
>>

No way to know right now

I know I won’t see improvements in my builds if I don’t build more, but how do I get over the crushing disappointment when what I build doesn’t match my imagination?

I got into mega to AVOID this shit, come on.

What's the best way for a fella to get a Cortana figure? Purple or blue, without paying 30+ dollars.

Was Cortana that sought-after? I guess I should have bought the handful of them I saw at Ross months ago.

New Barbie stuff is out, lots of useful accessories.

Other than the classic “practice makes perfect”, adjust your imagination to what’s actually possible with the pieces you have.

It’s fantastic!

What’s funny about that song is that Mattel originally sued the creators of that song. They once sued some poor lady whose actually name was Barbie and won.

Wanted to do something for spooky month, so I used my one flood figure. I’m really proud of that rock it’s standing on.

Well fuck, I forgot to make a Halloween themed photo beforehand and now I'm at uni.

Fucking hell I finally got Hyperious.

Found this neat deal on Ebay. I don’t have any money ATM, so I thought I’d share it.

what MCX sets have you guys picked up recently?

Another Marine Platoon pack. I don’t have a lot of the newer Covenant/Banished, so I can’t do much with them. As a result, I’ve been fooling around with my old stuff and I really like the simplicity of them.

The last new set I got was the new Brute Chopper, pretty nice. This kitbashed Security Warthog has been sitting around since I finished it last month, kept forgetting to take some pics. Built it using the parts provided in that weird listing from AliExpress and sourced the rest from my stockpile of Mega and Lego parts (finally found use for some of those yellow temporary pieces from old sets heh). Had to make a few changes due to some absent specialized parts but I'm happy enough with the end result.

Oh shit I bought 4 (black spartans are rare and it's the only set with a metallic red elite)
And let me tell you dude, I AM TOTALLY STEALING your design.
Could you make a photo of the underside? I wonder how did you mesh it all together. Did you use official Mega instructions as an idea?

I am kinda sad we're losing Organic H4/H5 artstyle for the unholy combination of reach and h2A but oh well. At least I have my own stockpile

Haven't got an underside pic and am heading to work right away, but yeah I followed the instructions for the Security Warthog as much as possible, making changes where necessary due to lack of specific parts (can take a pic when I'm off).

I got the Wooloo build and the weird ass rubbery piece is torn out of the ball, lmao. Weird decision to even do a Pokemon like this if it needs such a unique piece

A Wallmart Exclusive 10 years Halo anniversary Blue team set, I've bought from chinks 10 years after it was released.

I really like the packaging with the CQB spartan on the cover, obviously the CGI elite model has the wrong helmet! Classic Mega haha

It's weird that this is probably the only classic Blue elite Mega has ever released, considering Minor Elites - the most common type are blue.
I'm kinda disappointed the Covie supply case doesn't have the Covenant logo on both sides but oh well.

I absolutely love the printed weapons and they're the reasons I bought 2 packs actually.
The classic Needler and the Grenades are my favorite.
>>
>>9385987
Man that makes me nostalgic for oldschool mega bloks. Those weapons are really nice.

Awesome throwback, I really miss those armory sets, CoD still gets them but Halo hasn't since those REQ packs and those were hardly army-builders.
>only classic Blue elite Mega has ever released
You can see another set with that same blue Elite on the back of the box >>9385982. Mega released plenty of blue Elite Minors in dark blue which is game accurate; this shade of blue is more akin to multiplayer Red vs Blue.
>>

> Mega released plenty of blue Elite Minors in dark blue
Yeah I know that
>which is game accurate
ehhhh I'd argue for ce and 2 bright blue is more accurate
