What other stuff do you collect aside from toys?
>>9315895Pins.I also buy books, movies and games but I don't really consider that collecting.
>>9315918>I also buy books, movies and games but I don't really consider that collecting.I should add, I don't mean you can't collect those things, but rather the way I casually buy them isn't collecting.
>>9315895I have over 3k books, 2k comics, and about vinyl 500 records.
>>9315895>>9315899>>9315900TheseBut I also collect Yugioh cards, I used to collect comics but they have gotten so shitty I haven't purchased a new one in ages. I also have a pretty rad coin collection from when I was a kid.
Just toys now. I get far more enjoyment out of them than anything else.
>>9315965Same for me anon.
>>9315895A lot of stuff>comics and manga>Magic the Gathering cards>regular playing card decks: things like special edition Bicycle decks, pinup girls/nudie decks, tarot cards, etc>post cards and bookmarks, mostly for upcoming stuff on my local comic shop>interesting business cards, for inspiration cuz I'm a graphic designer>promotional reusable cups and mugs from college parties >limited edition beverage cans with illustrations>some vinyl records >a huge collection of keychains that was my grandpa's And some other small and non-ambitious collections like a bottle cap one I started during quarantine. I might be a hoarder.
>>9316027>all that useless garbage
>>9315895Manga and video games.I don't know if it's really "collecting" since I only buy things I plan to play or read but I do own a lot of both.
>>9316030Everything outside of basic necessities is useless garbage
>>9316048it's always ty lee time
>>9316062>it's always ty lee timeMuh niBBa
>>9315895Nothing, actually! I basically tried collecting different things, but I'm too much of a pirate. Nothing did it for me like figures did.
Books, guns, a little bit of Silver.
Disney pins and manga.
>>9316065sauce on the gif? i've seen the webm where she dances to that annoying ooh ooh ohwaohwa song
Comics, Pokemon cards, shoes, video games.. i like to joke that I have a collection of collections. Toys are by far my most collected thing though
>>9315895Stickers. I'd say i collect video games too, but i trade those in when im done
>>9315895Old Warhammer metal miniatures, old MTG, Pokemon and other obscure cards, old Pogs and Gogos CrazybonesWild west and some european comics. Books, mostly classic trad lit. I also like to save the stamps from other countries when I get them, local ones I just re-use lul2ND QUESTION: Did you collect something else but quit?I quit almost all media collecting, including five to six different consoles of video games, every form of physical movies and also CDs. Got rid of those. As a kid I had a bottlecap collection but those are also gone :(
Another comics fag. I mostly stick to that but I have been buying more toys recently
>>9315895Reasons to kill myselfH. P. Lovecraft stuffTour-exclusive shirts of heavy metal bands

Tiny Dragon DildosNobody must know my secret
>>9315895Comics, rare books and movie props
Comic statues. Probably more than I collect toys, actually. I also have a decent collection of comics/trades. The only toys I mostly buy anymore are Barbies, which I know is weird. But I've basically stuck to just buying clothing off of Etsy right now unless there's a really great doll.I guess I have a good rare collection of Sonic the Hedgehog stuff too.
Comic books and a little manga. I have a lot of major events signed by the writers/artists which makes me feel good. Once things get back to normal I might start getting some figures signed on the boxes. Just cause I like having signed stuff. I never plan on selling any of it.
>>9315895Vintage magazines and catalogs, I found a Sears catalog from 1926 last week
>>9315895Trading cards (anime, Yugioh, Digimon, etc.)promotional material, like mini posters and cardbacksvideo games (I buy them to play, but also have a good collection)
>>9317086I want to play crazy bones with you, anon
>>9315895Debt.But seriously, comic collected editions/trade paperbacks. And debt.
>>9315918>>9315921Same here, besides figures I spend a considerable amount of money on games but I wouldn't consider them a collection since I just store them somewhere after I finish them and rarely play them again.
Aside from toys my biggest collection is art. Mostly limited prints, but i have been lucky enough to get some original work. Somewhat known artists too, not somones aunt who went to a paint nite event and is now selling bad landscapes on etsy. After that is books, enjoy reading a lot and more books then most people realize have not become ebooks or audio books yet.
>>9315895Pokemon cards, though besides one ultra rare ampharos V that I got off of ebay, I haven't purchased a single card since some cosmic eclipse prerelease tournament I entered
>>9316358I collect stickers too!
Souvenirs, like statues, plush, and keychains, from the places I've visited around the world. Some things are handmade, and others are mass-produced. I collect both original artworks and fanart on my hard drive, if data counts as a collection. Every time I attach an image to my post it's like I'm sharing my collection, now that I think about it. From childhood, I have a coin collection including all 50 US state quarters and a few cool fossils and rocks.
>>9319735Gogos are really neat! The old ones are unfortunately surprisingly hard to find nowadays and I must admit I'd feel bad throwing those on a concrete.
>>9315895Cards, music, I sleep like a sultan so pillows are just everywhere.
>coins>pokemon and yugioh cards>vidya>blu rays>90’s/early 2000’s vidya magazines/game guides>Boy Scout patches (I have a ton of sets from the National Jamborees after going to two of them)
>>9320688Dang, they are hard to find now? When the fad started dying down at my school, I traded fistfuls of crazy bones to kids for their eggys. I had 6-7 of em I think. I kinda miss those lil guys.
>>9315895Diseases mainly cancers.
>>9315929what kind ojf books?

>>9334282what is a finger box?
>>9315895Hardcover comics and manga.
>>9340501not that anon, but they are little boxes with items inside, you then stick your finger in it and feel the item.
>>9320418yeah theyre usually packed with toys or some other product. stores and restaurants would often give some away too
>>9316030Just like toys.
>>9324553>FantasyBesides normal stuff like Harry Potter, game of thrones, The Witcher, Wheel of time, conan, Soloman Kane, Lord of the Rings, and shit I also have Terry Prattchet, Naomi Novik, and a few series from the urban fantasy genre like Richard Kadrey, Craig Scheafer, and alike who could cover horror.>horrorBiggest collection and the hardest to write out since I have anything basic from the complete works of Stephen King, Anne Rice, and Poe to the oddest shit like John Dies at the End or Meddling Kids.>comedy A huge collection of comedian's books from Dangerfield to Burr>classics Sherlock Holmes and stuff>biographiesMostly WWII figures and presidential books>history Mostly books about war and haunted locations. I like mostly WWII stuff but my buddy who served asked me to read a book by Junger and have been looking at getting into recent wars.
>>9315895I've got like 50-60 baseball hats, MLB teams, minor league teams, defunct ones, Japanese, Mexican, vintage ones, etc. I also collect fighting games, ones from the PS1, PS2, PS3 and some on older consoles to play on game nights with my friends.
>>9315895miniatures - ever since i got a 3d printer, I cant stop printing 40k and DnD models
Since I'm seeing other anons also collect stickers and trading cards... where do you think we could discuss them? They're not toys, but what other board would they fit better than here?/tg/? but they're not board games. /co/ maybe?I still think collectibles like these have more in common with toys, especially stuff like pogs, trading cards and card-like stickers (like for sticker albums, not pic related) which you can even play with (throwing your pog/trading card to hit the other person's own pogs/cards and win them, among other kind of games you can do with them).
>>9348009>They're not toys
>>9348012Yeah but debatable, pogs could be considered toys since as I said you can play with them.Stuff like pic related are basically flat building blocks, I remember building figures with arms and legs using them as a kid.And also, as I asked, what other board would you discuss them on? /co/?
>>9348009what further toy-related discussions can we have with paper collectibles? my first thought would be if they're board-relevant like baseball cards or those tiny picture card things people sell in bodegas or kiosks outside of a school. only thing toy-related for stickers is if theyre decals
>>9315895Games if that counts, and comics. I wanna start getting into those diecast model cars though
>>9319154baseded-a ah ah da based. the dilb. ert. fucker. fucker. fucker. fucker. im re ddit. evil reddit here to take your dilbert mug. sorry guys i have drd. dissasosisitive reddit disorder. sorry. /r/.
>>9315895Vinyl and I guess ps2 games
Guitars and guitar pedals, mechanical wristwatches, Japanese ceramics, utility knives (a couple military issue), art (contemporary editions), fountain pens, nice hand tools.
Records. My most prized is Probably Frank Ocean's Endless and all the MF DOOM LPs I have so far.
>>9315895I used to collect retro games until prices skyrocketed from COVID collectors. Now I buy toys.
>>9319154Real question, do you have a gromit mug
>>9315895Becoming a trap.
autographsI currently have George Lowe (Space Ghost), Dana Snyder ( Master Shake), John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox), Ken Page (Oogie Boogie), Alan Oppenheimer ( Skeletor), Charles Martinet (Mario), Bill Farmer (Goofy), Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) Christopher Sabat (Vegeta, Piccolo), Steve Blum (Wolverine), Ron Perlman.Sadly, there's two people I'll never be able to get autographs of two authors I really want. Vincent Price and Burgess Meredith, because they've passed on
>>9357313That's pretty awesome anon!I wonder if it is slightly easier to get the autographs of voice than it is to get them from live-action actors.Did you ever think about using a voice recorder to get a voice print from those actors anon?Anyway, really cool.
>>9357313did they sign merch or a notebook? i have merch signed by Dean Yeagle, Jason David Frank, Scott Shaw, and Sergio Aragones
>>9315895movies. i'm on a mission to collect a lot of my favorite movies from the 20th century and early 00's for my self and for the next generation to enjoy.
The souls of my victims
>>9358687How do you collect them? late editions? old box sets? VHS, Laserdisc etc
>>9315895Not much. I have other hobbies I spend my money on, but those are more for straight entertainment than building a collection. I enjoy MtG a lot, but more than once I'll sell/trade away all my value cards (I've never had anything worth more than 50 bucks though) for cards I'll actually use. I don't really sell video games now that I make enough money I don't need to sell or trade to get new ones, but I buy games digitally more often than physically, so that doesn't really feel like a collection either. And I never buy DVD/BD so I have no movie/tv/anime collection going.I guess I do hold on to my badges from anime cons I go to.
I used to collect games, but I stopped around 2003 whenever the dreamcast era ended. Ps3 and later games seemed pointless to collect with all the patches but apparently all physical media has gone way up.
>>9315895Video games and Tales of Legendia merch.
