There wasn't much else in the way of plastic creature skeletons at Michaels. I can't say if it's because they didn't carry much of any this year, or that I totally forgot that due to being a craft store, Michaels get's holiday items in 2-3 months in advance to give people time to make stuff. They very well could have had way more stock in July or August.

Finally I have an update on Metro Market.

Their stock shifted since the last time I was there. >>9301677

Now to Walgreens. They still had mostly bare shelves, but this one I was at out of town had a Styracosaurus with triceratops eye horns.

That's it for now. My walmart still hasn't gotten their Halloween together, but they've rarely had anything of interest these past few years.

It looks like Dollar Tree is going to have jack shit this year.

Haven't been to Home Depot yet.

Biglots is too far away.

I forgot to check Lowes.

I haven't had a close Halloween Express in years.

My or may not be able to drop by a Party City or Spirit of Halloween.

RIP Shopko and Kmart.

All in all, not a bad year, but a bit disappointing in terms of selection from previous years and new items.

I bought a rainbow unicorn, and will probably just grab a rubber duck and crab from Walgreens as soon as I can. You all should buy whatever you really like this year, because I got a feeling this segment of Mr. Bones' ride might be coming to an end soon.

Oh no, guys, I think I messed up!

In looking over some of my past photos, it looks like Menards started to stock Halloween back in late August of 2019 and 2020.

This pic was taken on August 27th of 2019.

This pic >>9314409 was from September 14th of this year! I could have sworn I was at Menards sometime last month, but it's not on any of my receipts, calendar, or travel timeline.

If they did stock up like previous years, I probably missed the big initial reset. Did anyone go there late last month? Anyone find anything new?

New store run today!
Here's the Metro Market in another town nearby. Overall the store is ok, but my closer one always had bigger and better stock for food in general. So it's no surprised that their Halloween section was a bit smaller, too. Though it isn't bad by any means; in fact it's probably their best offerings in years.

>>9318279
I've skipped around a bunch of them, and I didn't see much of anything in terms of Skeletons.

Seems like youtubers just don't care to cover skeletons that aren't the life sized human ones.

Up next is Lowes.
They were pretty picked over already.
They had the same crow that got bootlegged by Dollar Tree; and honestly, the $1 bootleg looks better than the $7 one. They also had some Piranha.

The two other price tags were labeled as Unicorn and Frog; which I'm guessing is the same Unicorn I've seen at Menards, Walgreens, and Metro Market. While the frog is most likely the same one Lowes had last year.

Finally for today we have Dollar General. The one we have in my town is pretty terrible. Think of a cross between an OK gas station, terrible Kmart, and s dollar store.

It's always humid inside even during spring, and it always smells like they just cleaned up after something bad happened.

Fortunately, we got a 2nd one a little ways outside of town, and it's not totally depressing to go in.

They got the crouching cat we've seen, and the same hollow bootlegs of the spider and scorpion I've seen at Dollar Tree in past years. The frog is a bootleg of a Michaels item from way back; maybe 2014?
>>
>>9320051
They also had a returning favorite of mine, with 2 new additions!

Packs of Green Army Men styled Skeletons, along with Mummies, and "Zombie Pirates", which don't look that much rougher than normal pirates.

That's it for the next few days probably.

My Walmart STILL hasn't put out all of their decorations, while it looks like all their costumes have been thoroughly picked over. Walgreens is in a similar situation; They still got half their summer stuff up, but they've already sold out all of the skeletons they put out. My Dollar Tree still hasn't gotten any skeletons in, even though someone on the Mythic Legions Cabal posted that they found a new bootleg Unicorn at theirs.

While I haven't seen any Christmas shit outside of at craft stores, the impact of Halloween has defiantly been lessened by the rolling stocking and restocking all my stores have been doing this year.

Today at Target they had these climbing from the grave statues from last year out. They weren't there the in the past two weeks, while several other items that were there have been sold out, and no longer have a tag up.
>>
>>9329041
Also at my Target are bigger versions of these babies >>9328859 Also $3, and each mold comes in a couple different colors.

One of my Walgreens still hasn't gotten any of their decorations or costume items in; only candy. While the other has already taken down their price tags for the $5 skeleton animals.

Meanwhile over at walmart, they finally got the huge 7 foot jointed skeletons out, but hardly anything else. Walmart looks more like November 1st than a week before October.

Maybe it's covid; but if that's the case, why did most of my stores get stocked fully in a timely manor last year during the worst part of it?
>>
>>9328862
My target didn't have any of those guys this year, or last year. I got one on clearance several years ago, and haven't seen them since.

I'd almost guess the stores are just bringing out a bunch of old stock the stashed in the back from previous years, if it weren't for the fact that I know stores don't actually like to stow stuff like in the back for long periods of time.

Dunno what's going on in my area but everywhere I've checked recently has been a wasteland

While my Walgreens is pretty much done with the $5 SKU already, they did get in this tube of dinosaur skeletons!

They were available last year, too, but this time they don't have such a strong wash over them.

So here's a dumb question I'm sure has been thoroughly discussed. If the Pose Skeletons were a huge hit (which it looks like they were), and they go for crazy prices now and whatnot, why doesn't ReMent reissue them? It seems like it couldn't be that tough and clearly there's a following if they made 100 different accessory sets and variants and color options and whatnot.

Is there any reason Storm is doing all of these Skelly recolors instead of just rereleasing the normal one?
>>
>>9344275
Because it makes them money.
>>
>>9344275
>>9344336
Rereleasing the normal one would makes them money too, so not an argument
>>
>>9344275
they probably have a quota with the licensers to meet a expected number of figure releases per year, and this is there way of getting around it while not getting fucked with the costs of having to make unique parts for new figures.
>>
>>9344375
Clearly just to piss you off anon, since you're obviously looking for arguments where there are none.
>>
>>9344375
I have all of their skeletons so far. I have no reason to buy the original release again, but putting them out in a different color will get me to buy them.

For those who missed the originals, they can still buy one of the current recolors to scratch that itch. These variants are a cheap way for Storm to sell to both of these groups.
>>
>>9344634
>I have no reason to buy the original release again
>Not wanting to army build your skeleton army in any given color variety
I get your point of growing your boneyard swarm in different colors, and by this same point some of the anons who have missed on the original (or any of the more exclusive color variants) would want a reissue of those

Speaking of halloween moose toys Treasure X line has 2 new definitely more halloween themed waves out that come in coffins.
These are you potential figures you can pull from the bigger coffins
>>
>>9350125
These are the ones you can pull from the smaller $5 coffins.
No idea if I'm having bad luck or not but so far I've pulled 3 of the golden cyclops skelly
>>
>>9350134
No idea on the "treasures" from the big coffins but the small ones can have
Glow in the dark
>half eaten fish
>fat bat with sunglasses
>hotdog
>witches brew
>eyeball with a hook in it
>vampire dentures
>jack in the box with a skull
>skeleton candle
>tombstone with a skull on it
>can of soda
>zombie fly
>bag of blood called vampire juice
Apparently each one can come with a specific figure as I've gotten soda with every Bling Blink but any of them can randomly have a golden spider instead.
>>
>>9350134
>>9350147
That's one thing that annoys me about blind boxes;

I'd buy the Punkpin, track suit spider, Tree Fiddy Cent, and Blade Skeleton, but I could spend $50 and never see a single one.

Having the accessories be randomized just adds to it. What if I actually wanted the unique character item instead of the rare golden spider?

Nothing new on the western front, So I decided to take a look at what Oriental Trading has to offer.

First up is this Skeleton Pillow.
https://www.orientaltrading.com/halloween-plush-skeleton-pillow-a2-13981362.fltr?categoryId=551135+1544

At $72.99 this is one of the pricier items, but it's 5 feet tall, and that's comparable to some plastic skeletons of the same size.
>>
>>9351685
Up next are small and large light up skeleton octopi.

Small $25.99
https://www.orientaltrading.com/small-light-up-octopus-skeleton-halloween-decoration-a2-13952174.fltr?categoryId=551135+1544

Large $62.99
https://www.orientaltrading.com/large-light-up-octopus-skeleton-halloween-decoration-a2-13952141.fltr?categoryId=551135+1544

I don't much care about the light up effects one way or the other; what gets my attention from the $10-$15 Octopus we've seen before is that it seems that the tentacles on these are bendy!

I really hope we see a smaller one with bendy feature, or at least one that doesn't have electronics in it.
>>
>>9351696
Onto some of the cheaper offerings. Oriental Trading has quite a few items that are sold in large groups.

Here we seemingly have plus moneys repurposed as colorful skeletons.
They're $21.99 per dozen.

These "Spookadelic Plush Characters" look like they took their teddy bear bodies and sewed hacky sacks on their heads as pumpkins, then applied pumpkin and skeleton print as needed.

They're even on sale at $16.98 for a 12 count.

"Mythical Halloween Characters" gives us a Mermaid, Unicorn, and Narwhal; the last two of which use candy corn for their horns. The Mermaid either has an inner tube, or had some low hanging knockers back when she had flesh.

I really love seeing cute girly type things pop up in light horror and Halloween themed things; probably thanks in large part to Monster High.

Their only $7.29 for a dozen.

The "Dino-Mite Dinosaur Skeletons" are the same ones you can get in a tube at Walgreens

Well I messed those replies up, but I'm sure you all can understand them just the same.

This Wednesday I went out of town to one of my favorite shopping areas. Sadly, the stores I got to didn't have anything thrilling for this general; and the only notable thing is that their Target did have the cheap bendy skeleton, along with bag of skulls, clutch of snakes, and pack of bats.

I might check out some other online stores for tomorrow.

Yeah but you have to prove its for academic purposes, and if you want to preserve a loved one's skull, all the laws around it are grey areas that are basically up the current people in charge to decided weather its legal or not. thats IF you find somewhere that will extract a skull from a corpse and clean it off, (you wont)
You can bypass all of this illegally, but at this point its easier and cheaper just to buy a high quality replica.

>salvaged what was left (surprisingly mostly in tact) but it disappeared when I went to take a shit at the neighbors house
Half figure my cocksucker of a former brother in law stole it, fucker was circling like a vulture the burned out husk of a home afterwards

One thing that I either missed, or they just recently put out are these sturdy yet hallow light up Pumpkin man and skeleton, that looks suspiciously like Papyrus Undertale; brother of Sans.

>>9360060
Yes they are. Both Michaels AND Joann have their fall/Halloween stuff down to 50%. Which puts Joann's even more pricier junk at a fare retail level, if you really want some of it.

Michaels didn't have anything of note left.
>>

Hmm, don't recall seeing that skelly light. Big Lots is consolidating Halloween and autumn to make room for Christmas. I wouldn't be surprised if they clearance Halloween early.

As you can see it's on an end cap with the pumpkins pre-decorated as skeletons, dragons, and such.

Otherwise, your store just might no carry it. Most of this stuff >>9351898 wasn't at my local store this year.

>>9360181
I'm sorry, I really should have popped into Joann's when I first started to make the rounds. On the bright side, it JUST went down to $25, so you saved a ton of money by painting your own. Plus you still would have had to paint the eyes red on the iridescent one.
>>
>>9358461
Went by two Walmarts and they were either pretty picked over or they hadn't got their skeleton stock out yet. One is pretty shit overall and the traffic around it wasn't worth the trip.

Oh yeah. Haven't been there in some time.
>>
>>9360194
Naw. Sokay. I think the cheaper non-light up one I got was fine. Let me test out some paint I had. Maybe I could have thinned it more, but it also looks kinda slimy or fleshy that way. Like rotting off the bone.

I was hoping I'd find one at Metro Market one of these years, seeing as how they're both owned by Kroger, but so far I haven't seen that particular mold at all in my area, let alone the iridescent one.

I'm happy I got the unicorn, though.

>>9360200
I've given up at my walmart at ever getting their Halloween section up and running. I'll be happy if I can score a bunch of He-Men and Skeletors on super clearance, seeing as how there's 6 whole pegs of just them for $10 s pop.

I just want some more 7 inch knockoff pose skellys. Even he animal ones at Walgreens seem to be picked over. I found only one Armadillo. zno other plastic animal skellys to be seen.

No one war burned in Salem. They were hung or stoned. Burning wiches was a European thing.
Though I do agree it's funny how pagans and Wiccans and new agey folk moved in and decided to cash in on tourist bucks off a history of conservative Christians killing each other.

No obe was hung or stoned in Salem either.

Shit all happened next door in Danvers but Salem "at the time" was a major city, so the headlines got sorta relocalized, and Danvers didnt want the bad press anyways.

Pretty sure Giles Corey was killed by stoning near the jail.
Gallows Hill is in Salem and recent archeological studies show it was done more at the base of the hill. They put a memorial a couple of years ago at the site.
Of course the people on trial lived in Danvers and Peabody and neighboring modern towns. Salem was the whole area at the time and people lived on farms and a good distance from one another. I remember a relative said the first "air raid tower" in America was on a hill in Beverly to look out for flying witches and spirits.

I got the Batman one to go with my Batman and 66 Batman figs, but I didn't care for the Friends tv itself. Didn't see the BttF one there. Surprised it wasn't an 80s tv sitcom. There are plenty of them. Would make more sense then a movie. Hmm. Tho maybe it would work eith my NECA BttF figs.
>>
>>9367448
Acually, I love the South Park one because it looks like the Sony CRT tv I have in my retro game room. Got it from my roommate in college. We had it in he dorm and I figured it would be great for retro gaming and watching old vhs tapes. The NES zapper doesn't work with new tvs.

Well, the other things on their website is a cheap $4 turtle that I believe is brand new as far as I know.

A wicked boar skull that's one of the more scientifically accurate items of these things.

A 2 headed snake, that's different from the 2 headed cobra we've seen previously.

The Octopus that might have bendy legs judging by the pose it's in the promo pic.

A shark skull that feels a bit off, probably because I can't see it from the side (Not to mention the jaw is the only actual bone structure they have)
https://www.spirithalloween.com/product/shark-skull-decorations/175253.uts

and lastly this really cool fish, which I think is brand new for the year. This one I really wish I could have seen first hand.
