>Amazon Prime Live Action She-ra supposedly in development

I don't know shit about Amazon Prime or its original content, so tell me:
What's their track record for quality writing?
And do their shows usually have a decent budget for special effects or costuming? Can we expect to see "monster" Horde characters, or will we be limited to human characters like Catra and Entrapta like the last show?
>>
>>9313460
The big thing to know is that that they have a diversity checklist that they enforce on shows; see the controversy over their Lord of the Rings show and the media push regarding it, and the demand for black, asian, gay, and trans characters.

https://deadline.com/2021/06/amazon-studios-inclusion-policy-playbook-1234776831/

>"Each film or series with a creative team of three or more people in above-the-line roles (Directors, Writers, Producers) should ideally include a minimum 30% women and 30% members of an underrepresented racial/ethnic group. This aspirational goal will increase to 50% by 2024."

>"Aiming to include one character from each of the following categories in speaking roles, with minimum 50% of these to be women: LGBTQIA+, person with a disability, and three regionally underrepresented race/ethnic/cultural groups. A single character can fulfill one or more of these identities."

>"However, as beloved and wonderful as the series is, it’s not completely perfect. It is a product of its time in many ways, and while this doesn’t mean it should be written off, it’s still worthwhile to point out the places where it doesn’t hold up in modern times. Questions of diversity and inclusion in Tolkien-inspired works are more relevant than ever with Amazon's Lord of the Rings project on the horizon. Fans are especially curious as to what updates the series will make and if it will be updated."
>>
any one have these wall mounts? I came across them looking for foot peg stands. I am tempted to pick up a set of two so i'm curious if they are any good. they are only 25 for 2 so it's not to bad on the wallet
>>
>>9313473
Is this really the "big thing" to consider when the anon asked about quality writing?
>>
>>9313579
We've been down this road before with She-Ra, how wont it effect the writing?
>>
>>9313410
Nah, you do.

Guy who asked the question, and no, I don't consider that an answer to my question.
I asked "does Amazon Prime have good shows?"
You provided a link to a diversity checklist that tells me nothing as someone with zero exposure to Prime or their content.
Yes, a lot of times that shit supercedes writing and it turns to shit (if this was Netflix I wouldn't even have to ask, but I've never watched or read discussions on Prime shows to know).
But you can also have cases where, even if writing is affected, the show still turns out at least acceptable because the woke shit is present but not intrusive.

It's a yes or no answer.
>>
>>9313652
Amazon is not a person
they employ other studios as well as having their own
even then they have multiple writers and show runners
so until we know the show runner and writers how can any one answer whether the show will be written well?
what crimson commander spoke to was a blanket policy that will affect the writing and that's as close as anyone can get to taking a random stab in the dark at the moment
>>
>>9313652
Do you need things to be spelled out for you? The answer is obvious enough to gauge from the amazon guidelines, they produce shit. Even their most notable hits (invincible, the boys) either eventually turned to utter propaganda shit or take huge divergences from the source material for the sake of representation and whatever else other horseshit they deem necessary.
>>

>>
>>9313665
That was a Sony film sold to Amazon because of theater shutdowns
>>
>>9313652
Amazon bought and released the Borat and Coming to America sequels so they're kind of all over the place if we're going by those diversity standards. Like most studios, they'll just produce whatever and establish those standards as lip service for investors.

On top of what others have said, the original She-Ra, with some slight tweaks, like say making Mermista latina, one other character black aside from Netossa, some character Asian, make one of the princesses a couple, etc, would already hit these quota. Of all the universes where this could be a problem, I don't think it's She-Ra.
>>
>>9313693
The diversity itself isnt the issue, it's the reprecussions that come from it. This pretty much ensures the live action she-ra series will be nu-ra in 3D. Racial archetypes bordering on stereotypes acting as the mouthpieces and wish fulfillment of gay twitter stalinists.
>>
>>9313664
go back to the sun-man containment thread heathen
>>
>>9313693
So Bow will be black, Mermista brown, and Entrapta one or the other forever.
Ah well, in the case of the two girls NuRa did make them more interesting people.

> A single character can fulfill one or more of these identities
Make a narrator that talk about 5min at begin. Make him disabled, black, trans.
Make another character at the end with same qualities.
Diversity quota fullfilled!

Maybe to deflect critisism, make them gods or higher entities to make them „powerfull, we wuz kang, yaaas queen“
>>
>>9313708
>>9313718
I felt like they race swapped Bow to be black in case She-Ra wasn't a lesbian. It seemed very obvious that he was black because one of She-Ra's two main love interests. I could feel my eyes roll the first time I saw it.

Make it Light Hope
>>
>>9313693
Honestly that racial distribution makes sense. For black, i would create a new character.
>>
I would be okay with Masterverse getting Nu-ra toys for the fans of that show....
...
Except that they are assholes and dont deserve plastic, if they were not as toxic it would be fine even if I hate dont like that show at all.
but of course just as a side thing, and give priority to the fans that have being buying stuff for decades

Silver lining in this mess, the Amazon series allows for MOTU to stay at retail longer and for more She-Ra figures in Origins.

I'm wondering if Dan scored an interview with Mattel like last year, and if they got any reveals for him. It's possible that they might also be making wait until after the CGI show drops tomorrow.

>I'm wondering if Dan scored an interview with Mattel like last year, and if they got any reveals for him. It's possible that they might also be making wait until after the CGI show drops tomorrow.
Given how spooked Matty was after rev baxklash, it could be possible he didnt. Which is a shame, we could use some clarification on a few things in all honesty. As for the CGI show theory, I certqinly hope that's the case. Potentially Mattel could be playing the waiting game for the moment. They likely want to recreate what they did with turtles with motu. Kid line based off the ongoing show seeing release alongside the oldfag product.
>>
>>9313406
>you could introduce a new gimmick to Origins what would it be?

Light piping
Color change in water
Spring loaded "grasping" feet for a bird of prey or bat styled character so they can grasp victims in flight or hang upside down in a cave
Icer as a snowglobe that was posted way back
Spinning drill (either arm or head mounted)
Some kind of "break apart gimmick" like a combination of King Hiss and Blaast Attak where an outer body "exlodes" to reveal an inner body within. Like....a hatching egg man or something
>>
>>9313756
That isnt what that anon said, I think anon was trying to say the show would function as a live action nu-ra series in terms of tone and content.
>>
>>9313740
Give Dan time, he’s exhausted his main hobby and the only things left now are getting missing accessories for figures like HALF COURT. He’ll find some new devices.
As for Mattel, all of these new reveals won’t be available for some months even without the shipping crisis.
>>
>>9313758
Im atleast glad we've gotten as many of the heroic warriors as we have. It's just a shame we barely have any of their vehicles. Meanwhile we have about a third of the evil warriors and TWO of their vehicles, three if you want to consider panthor a vehicle. This is the one instance where the motu heroes outnumber the villains.
>>
>>9313758
Orko atleast falls into the same category as the aforemention prototyped characters. We know they have him finished, now it's just a matter of if and when they'll see production.
>>
>>9313753
MCX has been running longer than Origins too. I think the problem is that retail just doesn't really like to support Mega Construx, and favors Lego, even though Lego's pretty shit in comparison. There's often little to none found at most stores.

>>9313760
It's possible they don't want to say anything. The CGI show's initial trailer got a lot of dislikes over the anger over Revelation. Scott even put out a video calling Kevin Smith a liar who kept doubling down on his lies, and that he was only riling people up more.

>>9313764
I'd say it's a given it'll be like Nu-Ra, but just a new take. Expect race swaps and probably lesbians. If it were me, I'd make the mandatory lesbians and gay characters people like Madame Razz, and maybe even make her a black woman to kill two birds with one stone.

>>9313766
I'm just getting antsy, because we don't even have publicity photos, and there's no new pics out there.

On the matter of MCX, do you think the line would do any better if it became an e-tail exclusive? If these big box retailers are being so anal about carrying these lines, why even bother you know? Either that or supply retailers with just the single release figures (heroes, 5 packs, and skeletor skulls) while you sell the bigger sets online.
>>
>>9313789
fucking this, all it would take is for mcx to release half of them through whatever sets they had planned and the rest could go direct to retail in the form of motu heroes/skeletor skulls.

I'd seriously kill for a Moss Man variant that pulled from anyone of these Swamp Things for a gimmick. The easiest Moss Man variants they could do in origins are probably either GITD or color changing. I wouldnt even care that he's unflocked desu. Just include some yellow beast man armor with him, maybe a different head like classics, and Id be happy.
>>
>>9313795
I'd like to say that they should, but would Mattel want to do it? The online would probably expensive at the lower production runs and sales they'd be doing. And would fans pay the premium? Imagine like Mattel Creations tier price hikes on sets. Would it be possible that they could get enough sales from online fan channels and Amazon? I think they tried that with that Advent Calander, and now we don't get Christmas Orko. I'm still pretty upset over the set being cancelled.

Wind Raider, Talon Fighter, Battle Ram, Jet Sled. Battle Cat if creatures count.
I think the heroic vehicle I'd want next would be the Filmation Attak Trak carrying the toy version, just because Mega Construx is a great opportunity to get bigger vehicles than the vintage line had.

>The online would probably expensive at the lower production runs and sales they'd be doing.
Well my thought was that they continue producing the sets at the numbers they're doing so currently, but exclusively sell the sets through online only. That way all the retailers would have to stock are the figures themselves. This model has for the most part worked well for the halo line, which only sparringly sees their sets released to retail while the figs make the real retail money. As for the price hikes, I wouldnt mind it if it meant more came with the sets.
>Advent Calendar
What exactly happened with that? Did they cancel it due to disinterest? Everyone on the MCX threads was so hyped when it was first announced and twice as heartbroken when it got axed. I knew some people who preorder double sets.

In all due fairness, it's not hard to replicate that aspect. What's hard is to replicate how seamlessly MOTU was able to bridge the gap between all these themes. There's a cohesiveness to MOTU despite all the craziness. Sun-Man in many ways reminds me of low rent blacksploitation junk like the black godfather or blackenstein. The idea is there, but the exceution is lacking in every way. That's partly why I would have preferred any of the other MOTU k.o.'s joining the canon to Sun man.

It seems like a bad sign for the line when those are Evergreen, unless it's being done to replace them with the version 2 figures with the vintage heads and full Power Swords. The He-Man and Skeletor figures in general don't do anything to stop a store from carrying the main waves.

>>

Local store has 4 pegs and an endcap full of Hemans and Skeletor. Another store just refreshed the pegs with them as well and only put out 1 case of wave 5. I think it's time to get rid of them and make room for new waves. It's not like they're going away as we got the BA version as well as the Deluxes next year.
>>
>>9314068
Well i'm more thinking that they have to offload a bunch of the line at a loss that it wouldn't be appealing to get more and potentially have the same thing happen
>>
>>9314068
They don't take up the pegs for the new waves. They're on their own special dedicated pegs. The waves too have their own pegs, so them being clearenced out is a strike against the line.
>>
>>9314073
>They don't take up the pegs for the new waves. They're on their own special dedicated pegs.
Nobody who works retail understands this system. I live a city with 3 Wal-Marts and 2 Targets. When Wal-Mart managers see empty $14.99 Origins pegs, they put fresh cases of He-Man and Skeletor v1 on them. Target OTOH thinks they only need 2 hang tags for $14.99 Origins and then have space to hang deluxes... that Mattel either never ships to this city or get put out and disappear too fast for me to find.
>>
>>9314068
>>9314072 (You)
Not sure why the hell all these stores ordered all those damn he-mans and skeletors

i've seen this sort of things choke out a product. I used to get amiibos (i know, i know, anyways) and at one point the pegs got choked out by animal crossing amiibos and they wouldn't get any new ones in since they had a glut of the animal crossing ones. eventually they clearanced them all out and now i never see them at the big box retail stores. i know this isn't necessarily the same thing just an example

It sure is. The Masters are a team in the new show, all with their own transformations. I'd like to see regular "civilian" versions of the characters be made as well. I'd also like to see a He-Man figure with a throwing action that comes with a balled up Ram-Ma'am that he can throw at people.

I more mean the toys than the show. I'm not a fan of the style of the show but it may be good an makes me look past it and even eventually enjoy it. the toys will probably never do it for me.

the one caveat is that i'm excited to see this shows he-man in the masterverse.

And that's why I hated revelations. They showcased an awesome new MOTU show and even said it would be a direct continuation of the 80s show. But everything was all a lie. At least this kids show isn't pretending to be anything other than a MOTU show where Heman and Friends are the main focal point.
>>
>>9314197
>And that's why I hated revelations. They showcased an awesome new MOTU show and even said it would be a direct continuation of the 80s show.
I would have loved a direct Filmation continuation with a story arc, even if the tone was radically different (i.e. killing He-Man and needing to bring him back from the afterlife). The problem was writing it as "a spiritual sequel", which just meant an excuse for not picking up on any Filmation plot threads or keeping the A-list characters's personalities consistent.
Fuck's sake, '80s Teela was not an angry narcissist and Randor was not a tyrant who threatened anyone with execution. Nor were the 200X versions, if they'd declared it an official sequel to THAT.

MOTU was a big deal when I was a kid. New Adventures had just come about and there was a lot of mystique about He-Man, because of how big MOTU had been in the early and mid-80's. I'd rent episodes of the Filmation show on VHS, which was pretty much the only way you could see them at that time, and I even had my mom purchase some tapes for me. I also really liked the Dolph Lundgren movie, which had an effect on me. And occasionally I'd find older MOTU figures at garage sales and thrift stores, and would buy some of the New Adventures figures at Toys R Us. I do vividly recall lots of people still talking about MOTU, particularly older kids, which peaked my interest.

It sucked so hard when the franchise went away in the 90's.
>>
>>9314696
And then I imagine the internet in the turn of the millenium got an effect on you, right? FRom the very late 90's websites with retro nostalgia stuff began popping up.
>>
>>9314667
He-Man was always just something I kind of knew about because of its cultural shadow, but the extent of that knowledge was just that he was a naked guy with a sword who fought Skeletor and She-Ra, who I only knew in name, was his sister.
The extent of my actual exposure to the brand was the HEYEAH video and the occasional Skeletor meme.
I thought it was lame and stupid and I didn't care about it at all, but that's how I felt about every 80s toy commercial cartoon with the exception of Transformers.
I saw Origins Skeletor at Walmart and was shocked that MOTU had any kind of actual figures in production (I thought it was a completely dead brand) and considered getting Skeletor "as a joke" because he looked funny and I like his memes.
I decided to watch the actual show first, again, "as a joke" then I kept watching it because I thought it was funny, then I unironically started to like it, then Revelation came out, I got Origins He-Man and Skeletor, started watching OG She-Ra and Nu-Ra, then 200x, got even more Origins figures, started collecting Masterverse, and now I'm legitimately excited for the new show.
Over the course of about a year, I went from knowing fuck-all to being absolutely obsessed. I haven't had a fictional property take hold of me like this since I was a kid.
>>
>>9314700
I didn't really have the internet until like 2001. Everything was magazines before then and comic shops, and toy shows at trade centers and flea markets. It was a different time. Comic shops were a bigger deal back then and the vintage toys commanded a pretty high price at one time it seemed. Then 200X came out and really loved that show and that line, but a lot of the collectors really made it hard to buy into, because they'd buy up all the secondary characters, so you just had He-Man and Skeletor on pegs, and then you'd visit a comic shop and the brand new figures would have a $50 price tag on them.

>/motu/, what drew you into Masters of the Universe?
I was barely old enough to play with action figures in 1986. I know I saw the Filmation cartoons, because when I re-watched as an adult, I recognized bits from "She-Demon of Phantos", "Secret of the Sword", and the Christmas Special as burned into my memory, but it was a small influence. Mostly I was drawn by the figures' varied gimmicks and the mixed-up aesthetics (barbarian, medieval, sci-fi, a cowboy). When the line died, I collected GI Joes until deciding I was too old for toys when THAT died in '94, but would keep pulling out my MotU figures and all the playsets besides Eternia and play with them, basing their adventures more on the '84-87 mini-comics than anything else.

It's a sleeveless superhero costume. That's more relatable to kids these days than a barbarian in furs (in 1982 they'd know who Conan was even if they weren't allowed to see R-rated stuff).

>>9314667
Scifi lost tech definitely. I saw filmation as a kid in the early 90's and always thought the cartoon was a bit dumb, but the purple, barren backgrounds, barbarians in the future, technology and magic, monsters and cosmic things
really drew me in. I've never seen anything with that aesthetic outside of pinups from frazetta and the likes. It's a very particular aesthetic and I love it.

Assuming for a second that Mosquit-ra is both a version of Mosquitor AND not Horde (since we don't have reason to believe the show will have a Horde), I'd be fine if they did other alternate non-Horde versions of Horde characters in this show.
I'm not gonna bitch if Mantenna or Leech show up as Evil Warriors, I'll just be glad they're showing up at all
>>
>>9314985
Didn't Filmation get nabbed by another company that Dreamworks snatched up? And that's why Mattel still needs to license Filmation versions of MOTU characters?
>>
>>9314985
She-Ra's cartoon was marketed by Mattel as a different license so companies would have to pay them twice in order to get the rights to all of MOTU. But, because of some sort of shenanigans with Filmation, when Filmation went under and was bought up and their library bought up, She-Ra continued to be passed around as a separate franchise. They couldn't use her in 200X either and replaced her with some generic Horde characters in robes.Pretty much all the female Horde characters are owned by Dreamworks for television and film.

It gives you an excuse to have a Tella figure use her headdress for a purpose if you did. The idea behind it was that the headdress could make her figure into a new character-- the Goddess. I think they made her green to differentiate her from Teela. Plus snakes are green, I guess.

Wal-Mart just gives zero shits about toys. It's so rare I find anything, and I have to make a toy run to like 5 or 6 different ones over the course of a few hours, from one store to another in the hopes of MAYBE finding something. Faker but with colors closer to the original toy (the original MCX release is really brighter looking)
Magenta cross-sell Faker (they did do one for Battle Bones, but that was battle-damaged)
Battle-damaged Orange Faker (basically Battle Bones Faker but in orange instead)
Proto "Maskor" colors Man-E-Faces
Minicomics colors Man-E-Faces (primarily blue; beast face is yellow)
Vintage colors Man-E-Faces (brighter colors, seems a little orange)
Blonde hair Minicomics Teela
Pink Minicomics Teela
Zodac with white gloves (basically that Scubattack Zodac, but now with the red armor included)
Purple Zodac (Loyal Subjects figure, which I think was based on the magenta armor/weapon from the Ultimate Battleground Weapons Pak)
Zodak from 200X/Classics (though if they're doing just repaint it would just end up like the Loyal Subjects figure instead of the new parts that the Classics and 200X had)
Moss Man with Filmation colors
Minicomics Pink Sorceress
1982 DC Comics Beast Man (the generic troopers in the first issue that didn't have blue on their faces)
Vintage Toy-color Trap Jaw
Blue Filmation Hordak
Wun-Dar
Minicomics Stratos
1982 DC Comics Stratos (basically Stratos but with a red beard)
Serpent Claw Man-At-Arms (they used the 200X color scheme on an Eternia Mini of 80s Man-at-Arms)
Whatever this Loyal Subjects Tri-Klops color scheme came from (it's not the minicomic version)

There's probably a lot of color schemes they haven't even considered yet. Some of this list should be "break in case of emergency" ones, though, when they're out of ideas or money for new molds.

So far the new show has my interest way more than revelations.

I'm liking that Adam is pretty heroic with out being he-man

it has some pretty cringe moments
but some the action is good

but the characters are decently written

and outside of the original show this may be the best incarnation of teela
>>
>>9316040
I like it a lot more than revelations it works by doing it's own thing instead of kevin smith dumpster fire
>>
The show's really good so far. I'm on episode 6 at the moment. The first 4 episodes were like an origin movie. It's fun in a way that action cartoons haven't been in a long time, and it's written considerably better than Revelation.
>>
Haven't gotten around to watching yet, but the lack of chatter I'm seeing really gives me the impression that the show might be a whole lot of nothing.
Nothing to piss people off and cause shitstorms, so it's not bad, but also not good enough to excite any praise.

So I'm gonna call it an inoffensive but underwhelming middle of the road kinda show. Will report back if my prediction was on the mark or not once I get off work
>>
>>9316143
So far i've been digging it.
it's different and doesn't shit on the source material
it's for kids but not insultingly so
the action is good and the story so far moves at a quick pace

and having a not snarky and not bitchy teela helps, for some reason other iterations always make her that way with revelations cranking it to 11 and breaking the fucking knob off

if you have an interest then give it a watch

W1 relatively easy to find, even better is Teela and Evil-lynn has revised legs

W2 is replenished perpetually and probably the most popular wave, will show up for grabs on Amazon from time to time

W3 is harder to come by. Zodac is usually the cheapest. Roboto is the hardest to get, do not remove his arms from his torso because the little blue discs in the torso that hold his arms in like to come loose.

W4 is also harder to come by now, the least popular is Stratos. Hordak can br substituted with buzzsaw version unless the gimmick and the lever on his back bothers you.

W5 randomly shows up at Wal-Mart. The 200X Evil-lynn has both old knee and knees variant. The hardest to find figure is Faker. LoP Mer-Man is probably more popular (at least here he is).

W6 is barely out and not even seen at retail yet. Webstor's web climbing gimmick is fiddly.

Dxs:
Battle armor Skeletor and He-Man are easy to obtain both on amazon and at random Wal-Mart

Ram Man is harder to come by supposedly comes in a revision case with Clamp Champ and Mosquitor.

Clamp Champ is on sale at Amazon.

Buzzsaw Hordak was decently stocked at Target for a while and easy to get from Amazon at slight mark up.

Mosquitor is barely out and EE and Amazon had some orders shipped.

It'll extend and twist like Roboto probably. Wouldn't be surprised if they thinned down the interior mechanical neck to fit in his torso.
>>
>>9316487
He'll likely have the feature, I've got no doubt in my mind that we'll get a deluxe mekanek. Though I also expect Matty to double dip. It's likely we'll get a deluxe Mek with the feature intact and a regular release mek without the feature, focused solely on the articulation

Hopefully the neck is removable though so we can buy multiple figures to create a super neckbro to peek into the bathroom at the top of Crystal castle.

don't forget to use the store exclusive variant colour mekaneck necks to help make your mekaneck tower better looking.

Unless it's a high budget production, you will never see anything come close to looking as good as this illustration in animated form, 2D or 3D.

Thank you so much! I've already pre-ordered Mosquitor, Stinkor, and Webstor at BBTS at least. Good to know a couple of them are still showing up at Wal-Mart though.

The show got some stupid yet funny jokes and this one was awesome. I mean jokes about motu lore is one thing but jokes about the toys now that is next level
>>

Amazon Mexico has them at really low prices most of the time (Skeltor with vintage head is at like the equivalent to 12 bucks), they ship FROM the US, so surely they deliver within the US in spite of you buying in Amazon Mexico.
>>
>>9316492
>I've got no doubt in my mind that we'll get a deluxe mekanek

I doubt it. He'll have the feature, guaranteed, but his feature isn't exactly complicated. It's comparable to Roboto's.
Mekaneck will be standard.
Come to think of it, they could just do his neck like extendar's, and you just pull it up rather than requiring a twist action. That would be even simpler and have less affect on poseability

I like the part where skeletor was naked coming out of the havoc pool and trap jaw's jaw drop when he saw his dick.

Ok, I'm two episodes in, and it's actually impressive how much better this is than what I expected.
Teela isn't grating
Krass is best
Cringer is a well done subversion
Evelyn and Kronis make for effective antagonists

Duncan feels like a misstep so far though
>>
>>9316694
Duncan's pretty boring at the moment. They set him up like they're eventually going to get to some character development for him, but it doesn't happen yet in these first 10 episodes.
>>
>>9316694
Duncan was the worst part but he wasn't horrible. He's got potential but so far he's the weakest part of the show but he's very helpfull.
>>
>>9316678
Can you do an edit of Cd-i link as revelation Adam?
>>
>>9316694
>Teela isn't grating

yeah that's a big plus for me i hate how she's always a cunt. I don't recall if she was in the original but in the comics she is, in revelations she is a mega cunt, and i'm currently 6 episodes into rewatching 200x and she's shit on Adam in every episode
>>
>>9316730
Teela even in the 80s show shits on adam for "running away" and tells he mam that he's based unlike adam all the time too. But there and on 200x it feels more natural.
>>
>>9316738
To be fair on Teela on the comics, Filmation and 200X, she's the captain and her duty is both protect AND train Adam, and Adam (intentionally in the comics and Filmation) acts like an uncaring, pampered dickwad, getting into bar fights for fun (in comics) slacking off to do shit to amuse himself (Filmation) unaware he's in reality the hero she admires.

Plus the's the crown prince, it's kind of understandable she'd be stern to Adam.
>>
>>9316748
I never had a problem with teela for that. Only in revelations where it was over the top bullshit levels of being a cunt.

Figures of this when?
>>
>>9316756
Revelation was written by people who obviously don't understand her character and think being an illogical bitch, and immature person is "strong and independent".
>>
>>9316748
>>9316765
Ram Ma'am basically is the new Teela, and is a better Teela than Revelation's actual Teela. Teela was always Prince Adam's tomboy childhood friend.
>>
>>9316765
To add to this, I've noticed in a lot of media it feels writers forgot (or new writers don't know) how real people are like
>>
Just finished episode 4
>that Snakemen shout out
Oh, I like where this is headed
>>
>>9316819
It's wonderful the literal kids show is better than Revelation. Hopefully Mattel will see this is what the fandom truly want and one day we'll see another He-Man kids show that embraces more the barbaric motifs over the technological ones, and a proper She-Ra show aimed at children, not at the mentally ill.

Clownfish drops their inevitable review of the first 2 episodes

Just finished the new show and it rules. It’s like they took the top 10 filmation characters everyone loves, removed the filmation, and showed us a majority of their origins. Some of the dialogue just fell flat to me but when it has a good joke it’s a REALLY good one. Skeletor is great! Ork-0 is great! Evelyn is hot as fuck. It’s doing all the new things I wanted from MOTU but keeping everything that worked. It would be a 10/10 for me if they just had a better intro.
>>9316861
Clownfish is lame as fuck
>>
If you had to choose one Mer-Man in an Origins collection, would it be the normal version or LOP?
>>
>>9316878
I liked it too. It was a refreshing take, that while different also respected the lore. He-Man's origin even goes back to his original vintage toy, having him be from a village in the jungle and mixes it with some Tarzan, where he's really a prince, but he didn't know it. I also appreciated the underboob they gave to Evil-Lyn in her normal Evelyn form, and actually allowing their women to be feminine.

I feel like the show is building up almost like a prologue laying the groundwork for being more like the traditional set-up for the Filmation series, where they will eventually live in the Castle, since Randor says he needs a new "Man-At-Arms," and meets Ork-0.
>>

LOP

"Narcoleptomania!"

Nice, one has to wonder just how much they have planned for the series. It seems like the writers have alot they want to get to. That said I wish there were more villains, seems like we're keeping it pretty small scale for now.

What if Skeletor turns them evil with the way he mind controls people?
>>
>>9317006
Most likely just like the comander might be the new triclops.
>>
>>9317001
I'd guess they'll keep faction membership the same. When Skeletor gets kicked off the throne, the circumstances could be plotted such that guards who become Two-Bad stick to him.
In like the first episode, Mer-Man and Avion were name dropped as allies Randor could call and didn't. So we could also get a Friendly Mer-Man who gets buttered up by Skeletor during his kingship.
I appreciate this pacing. 200X threw 20 characters at us in the first episode and I think this works better.

Its best not to watch outrage youtubers. They just sour your enjoyment of anything and will make you look for things you wouldn't otherwise notice or care about and get into a conspiratorial mindset.

And I say this as someone who does not like the 2021 series and probably won't watch even an ep.
