This image right here say all that anyone needed to know about what happens in the future of He-Man and Eternia.
This image right here is why Revelations is destined to be redundant. Fans don't need a 10 episode Netflix wankfest. All the story told right there in that one image. Happy Endings for everyone we loved.

Kevin, if you want to make cartoons, please make more Clerks. My friends and I still quote it to this day. Seth could never have made Family Goy without Clerks there first to rip off.

Mattel, make Origins Frosta or else your mother will die in her sleep tonight.

So I'm unclear, Is Teela older than Adam? Because Filmation Adam looks exactly like He-Man and looks about in his 30s, with Teela being about the same age. But the Revelation clips Adam looks like in his late teens/early 20s with Teela being about ten years older.

Filmation Teela is more than a year older than Adam, because his birthday cake has 19 candles in Ep. 73, "The Great Books Mystery", and she's already 20 years old in Ep. 6, "Teela's Quest."
In 200X Adam is 16 in the first episode and Teela say she's still 16 early in Ep. 29.

I like toy Mer-Man just fine.
I Personally like to view the recolor figures as either henchmen for the main figure, or brand new characters in the same vein as white and black Zoba(c)((k).

LOP Mer-Man is good.
Peach skinned Stratos is either an army builder for normal Stratos or an evil Stratos like he was originally meant to be.
Gray skinned Evil-lyn could be her Faker?

Kevin Smith being a hack, which is news to no one, does not retroactively make the Night Lich's scrawlings even worth acknowledging, let alone tolerable. Classics was the golden age of He-Man toy collecting. I will give him that, and that is all he could ask for. The bios never mattered.
>>
>>9181727
The designs and proportions of the line are rubbish even disregarding the source material for the former. Masterverse is going to shelfwarm so badly that the 200x figures will seem like they sold out in comparison.

>>9181751

>>
>>9181751
When it comes to MOTU, I buy most things. Unless Origns becomes like Classics I'll probably buy most things outside of mini-comic figures. Tri-Klops being an exclusive is fine by me, because of it.
>>
>>9181571
Thank goodness it's just an ugly and pointless Tri-Klops repaint and Scare Glow who's only glow-in-the-dark part is the head.

>>

He talks about people criticizing him for re-inventing the franchise, and insisting he didn't do that, and it's not like She-Ra and he's not that creative. It's over a half hour of Kevin seething and lying.

He's probably trapped in a Chinese factory. Super7 said they were using the same factory as Mattel when working on Thundercats Ultimates and that wave 2 got trapped in the factory, because of lockdown restrictions and travel restrictions, so Super7 had to make the figures for wave 3 in a different factory and now wave 3 will be out before wave 2.
>>
>>9181936
Also I might ad he talks about Ted Biaselli, the producer from Netflix who demanded there be race swaps and said Ted was his target audience. He also swears up and down that he watched all the Filmation cartoons even though he hated them in the 80's and everyone should shut the fuck up, because they don't know He-Man as well as he does, and they weren't fans.

"It's as much a Teela show as it is a He-Man show, because it's a Masters of the Universe show."
"It's all of them."

I doubt that second part is true, more like Teela and Adam/He-Man, but that's all fine and dandy.

He's pretty frank in this video, he directly addresses some tweets and criticisms, though some of his answers are a bit roundabout. It's damn long though, so I'm only half paying attention at this point.
>>
Boy I am already fucking tired of hearing the name kevin smith
>>
The fact that He-Man is 'gay' now is really weird. It seems a result of 2000s idea that the male form is homosexual in nature and the Four-Non Blondes video, but it's weird. You'd think the super lisp gay Adam is in that video would be homophobic in current year. Incredibly problematic. Do they 'He-Man is a gay icon' types even understand that video was making fun of them and He-man? While the idea a male form is inherently gay isn't really a thing anymore.

This. I remember some critic on YouTube suggesting that if the rumors weren't true, he would be confident enough to quiet down. Psychologically speaking, that's actually the opposite of how someone would react to false rumors or accusations; they'd be pissed.

Of course, if he did respond with silence, critics would weave that into their own narrative as well. Ultimately none of this means anything until Friday.

It's definitely possible to be annoyed and let it slide off of you, but some people are just more confrontational than others. And as you say, people read into anything and everything when they've got a target.

Could be so they don't blow their load all at once and can drag out the toy profits and hype (if it can be called that right now).

Could also be because animation is expensive and time-consuming. They probably put a lot of resources into this show since it's a limited run and as such need more time to do it all.
>>

Nope. .org has had people saying He-Man should be gay for a while because he's, and I quote, 'a gay icon'.

He-Man himself is indeed sometimes thought of by some as a gay icon (he's a handsome muscular man in furry undies), but that doesn't make the character himself gay. Maybe in some versions (given the multiverse stuff), but none that exist at present.

He-Man is too strong compared to the rest of his world to be the titular character of 10 episodes of more or less a single story. If he was at full power one would think he could just end whatever threat there was (as he does in every episode of the Filmation show). Imagine trying to tell a single Superman story over 10 episodes when all the enemies in this series are Batman's enemies. The only way this could even happen is if you depower him, or take him out of the fight somehow, and let Batman himself or someone else take lead.
>>
>>9181779
Did you ever watch Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back?
>>
>>9182240
He-Man can't be in multiple places at once, and doesn't even have enhanced speed like Superman. Hell, you could have a Masters show where Skeletor and the Evil Warriors attack on multiple fronts every time He-Man walks through a dimensional portal to help his sister against the Horde.
You don't need to punish He-Man with double killing to get his power out of the way.
>>
>>9182240

Are you saying it's autobiographical? Kevin should have learned when he bitched in the movie about how Hollywood always fucks up comic book movies.
>>
>>9182264
The key words there was 'a single story'. 200x was one continuous story, but at the same time it was still essentially new sub-stories each episode until the various multi-part episodes, many of the episodes also being there spotlighting the various Masters (I'd definitely say this was a true Masters of the Universe show, as Kevin put it). Also maybe it's a bit of a cop out in saying this, but He-Man also didn't seem quite as strong as the Filmation one, where various enemies were a solid match for him,

So when I say that, picture a story like, Skeletor conquered Grayskull and becomes Skelegod, but He-Man still has his own Power Sword. What could the story be? He gets further artifacts to get stronger while Skelegod sends random lackeys that would be a match for Teela or Duncan but a cakewalk for He-Man. Outside of them clashing every episode, or non-physical challenges, there wouldn't be much in the way of a challenge. Meanwhile if you have Scareglow attack without He-Man around, from the scenes in the trailer, they need Orko to get his big power boost out of nowhere to combat him, but if He-Man was there, he'd probably block whatever spell with his sword, then beat him up (though if anyone is believably strong enough to fight He-Man, it'd be someone like Scareglow, some ancient evil, based on what we've seen with him and Grayskull).

Just look at the clips we've seen so far, in that Man-at-Arms rescue scene, there was magic sealing He-Man's strength. When he was freed from that he easily beat the enemies.

In that first trailer when Duncan is about to get crushed, He-Man stops that machine's crushing ball with a single hand and a smile on his face while Duncan lay on the ground.

The only scene we've seen him struggling at all is against Skeletor in their fight scene, where his punch matches Skeletor's giant magic enhanced punch. Skeletor will somehow win that fight, so we'll have to see how that plays out.
>>
>>9182312
>The key words there was 'a single story'.
Each season is a story.
>>
>>9182314
Pfft, not in the way most Netflix shows are now. He-Man '83 was very much a "bad guy of the week" type show. Even if there may be somewhat of a theme for the whole season, you don't have to watch it in order to get what you need out of it.
>>
>>9182263
>You don't need to punish He-Man with double killing to get his power out of the way.
I think He-Man does it to himself by splitting the swords. Some kind of sacrificial thing to eliminate himself and Skeletor for the good of Eternia.
>>
I watched the whole video. He said he man is in every episode. Im thinking adam loses the sword of power and has to rely on evil lyn and teela and has to become his own “he-man” without relying on the sword.

Which Classics bio do you actually like? I enjoy the idea of Demo-Man being the spirit that Hordak fused with Keldor. It would be really cool if somehow Demo-Man had roots in Preternia.
>>
>>9182345
Why do you think they will kill he man? They will probably just kill man at arms and adam will lose the ability to transform into he man. He will just be a mortal prince adam who will have to deal with challenges in a more interesting way. He said its like justice league where superman is dead and then comes back at the end.
>>
>>9182337
The reviewers said He-Man's mainly in episode 1 and dies in the same episode with Skeletor. Then Teela sets out on a quest to restore the Power Sword and revive He-Man, and travels to the after life, which is Praternia apparently instead of it being in the past. And they meet the other dead He-Man there. They then take Prince Adam back to the world of the living, but if he leaves he can never again return to Praternia, stealing the plot of the movie All Dogs go to Heaven. Then in the underworld, they fight Scare Glow, and Orko sacrifices his life, which is in episode 4. In episode 5 it's revealed that Skeletor was alive the entire time and kills Prince Adam and takes the Power Sword, becoming Skelegod. Other characters die along the way too, including Moss Man early on, and Roboto.
>>
>>9182356
>Why do you think they will kill he man? They will probably just kill man at arms and adam will lose the ability to transform into he man.
Several different reviewers state that he dies twice.
>>
Its boring just having adam turn into he man and solving all the problems in ten seconds. They want a more complex narrative. Kevin said teela is pretty boring and the most interesting dynamic is evil lyn and adam. They didnt even include teela in wave 1 it was evil lyn. Evil lyn is played by lena heady from sara connor chronicles and game of thromes. Shes the true star of the show because she is the head writers favorite character.

let's try to inject some positivity here, and be more intelligent with our criticism friday morning.

hasn't origins been nearly perfect so far? Aside from distribution, it's been everything I could want from a toyline. It's currently the best of both worlds with offerings like (maybe)SUN-MAN and Keldor alongside perfect updates to the vintage toys. That, alongside stuff like the WWE offerings really make my collection feel like a child's from the 80's. How does Sun-man or Faker Cena fit in with MOTU? use your imagination.
I look forward to the day this line can potentially surpass classics, and all the customs that could be made from it with how modular the parts are and how they scale with the vintage toys. We really do live in a golden age of he-man right now
Doing the math, origins has already covered around a fourth of what classics has done, and at less than half the cost to your wallet
life is good
>>
>>9182371
He was 13 and he said kids liked orko. He was an edgy teenager and identified with skeletor. I thought there was a heman in the second wave but I guess I was confused. Maybe he does die twice, but that would be retarded.

He-Man isn't gay, he's asexual. His power produces no manifestation of sexual energy because his form is contstructed strictly to fight evil. But Prince Adam is totally a twink bottom bitch.

I just wanted Mega Construx to be at least as expansive as Origins... Origins Deluxes are great, as is any regular figure with an expressive head, but most MotU figures had no action feature when you include how many didn't exist in toy form until Classics and discount the twist-waist, so they would have been perfect in 2" scale with brick-built playsets. You can't add the other two walls and rooms from the fiction to Origins Castle Grayskull, and it's very unlikely to ever have the Three Towers or Eternos Palace.

Nah, MOTU was always gay as hell. Look up old Filmation studio stories, it was a freewheeling safe haven for queer artists. Those "homosexual undertones" people have been detecting in MOTU and She-Ra were no mistake.

Also, like many older things that began as problematic, like Rocky Horror, that Four Non Blondes video has been reclaimed by the gay community and is now generally celebrated.
>>
>>9182597
>No-one that doesn’t have some kind of bias has seen it yet.
The reviewers, and following the progress of the show every step of the way? How do you judge whether or not you want to see a movie or tv show? We're not all consumer cucks. I've still never seen the last two Star Wars sequels, because I though Force Awakens was bad. Should I think they were good, just because I haven't seen the rest of the sequels yet and just listened to reviewers?

Do what One Punch Man does, and have the other characters go up against way over powered villains, and try to survive until He-Man gets there.

Have He-Man loose the power sword, so Prince Adam has to deal with things depowered.

Skeletor super powers all of his henchmen to near He-Man levels.

Have the drama not come from whether He-Man can defeat the villain of the week, but whether if he can save everyone in the process.

Put He-Man in a no win scenario where no matter which choice he makes, someone is going to get hurt.

Invaders from another planet/dimension come and wreck shit, so the masters, Skeletor, Hordak, & the snake men have to work together.

I feel like it would be more interesting that if Skeletor was gone, his henchmen would just go back to more normal lives. Beastman tries to run a nature preserve to shelter animals near extinction after the giant battle that caused lots of damage, Merman has to remove all the fallen warships that have been leaking shit poisoning the ocean, Triklops forms his religion on technology now that magic seems to be out of the picture with Heman/Skeletor gone, Trap Jaw runs a small bounty hunter business.

Adam has to help them out and they join him in trying to rebuild. The big twist is that they all thought Skeletor was a dick and help take him down at the end when he comes back.

Well, sure they weren't literally canonically gay, it was the early 80s. That sort of thing simply wasn't allowed on broadcast TV back then, and especially not in cartoons. But you can definitely see the blatant nods to gay culture drawn in by the gay artists on staff, it's not like they were well hidden or anything.

IIRC the daughter of the Filmation Studio owner (who worked on the OG She-Ra and is gay herself) said her dad had rather queer-leaning proclivities as well, and if they could do the shows over they would put canonical gay people in it.

> scalpers buying up Masterverse Scare Glow not realizing a retail one will be coming

It's like these retardos learned nothing from Origins Scare Glow being easy to buy online because Classics Scare Glow is expensive on the aftermarket.
>>
>>9183825
In a direct comparison, sure, but they're just 2 different takes on Teela. I'd love to get 200x in Masterverse soon, Teela and Lyn and many others have great designs.
>>
>>9183838
>I'd love to get 200x in Masterverse soon
I really doubt they ever will. Classics never did it and they even did new adventure shit
>>
>>9183826
Scare Glow is coming out in Wave 4 according to Dan, so we got quite some time for scalper hype to build. I imagine those that bought to scalp should wait until they ship before selling, that's when it's absolutely guaranteed to rise in price.
>>
Mattel's site was painless to order through, that was a nice change of pace. I don't really collect MOTU but this Scareglow figure looked awesome and I wanted one.

I wish Premium Bandai was this nice. Ordering my God Goku tonight is going to suck.
>>
>>9183851
There were lots of 200x homages in Classics, just done in Classics form (the 6 figure wave, the head pack, alternate heads, battleground Evil-Lyn, Carnivus, the black haired wizard with the sword, Dactys, etc), and there are already some in Origins. I feel like 200x is pretty fresh in Mattel's mind.

Is that Teela? I can't what character that is.

It just came to me that Mattel called the toyline Motu Origins because its the origin of how bad they can fuck things up.

Everyone loved Origins and now those good vibes are over shadowed by the extraneous bullshit like Netflix and Teela looking as boring and generic as possible for her staring role.

Seriously, no red on her clothes. Strong women are still women and there is nothing wrong with giving her a sense of style. Her armor looks like she's wearing a slab or jerky. And are those pants and knee pads?
>>

isn't it a bit premature to guess she will stay in demand too? The rations still lop sided like Origins means they are still banking on scalpers/collectors to fall for the bait

MOTU origins is scalped pretty hard so I figure most just pull the trigger on one 40 dollar figure if it means they could cash in and they get another chance once retail scareglow gets scalped.
>>
>>9184266
But that's the thing, a woman would automatically be the lead when it's She-ra's show, named after her, and starring her. It's poorly written. More fitting would have been "Just like the recent She-ra and blah blah Series, a Teela takes up the reigns as a empowered lead among the Masters of the Universe when He-Man goes missing (or dead if you just want to go full spoilers)
>>

>>
>>9184345
From the clips, Scareglows 'tattoos' glow, so I think the point of the exclusive is that he's always glowing. But given that's how he glows, he wouldn't need to be made of gitd plastic, but just paint for those tattoos.
>>
>>9184345

Given that his body is black, glow in the dark paint would be all that's needed for the tattoos. The exclusive just uses straight up green paint, but hopefully the retail one gets that gitd head and gitd paint for the bones on the body.
>>
>>9184402
Imagine the retail version being hilariously Superior.
>>
>>9184419
The exclusive would still look good in regular light though, as if he's constantly glowing. I assume if the retail did have the gitd paint, it'd be a yellowish green when not glowing, and in regular light the exclusive would probably look 'better', in a way. The effect is iconic, so I do hope he has them.

Push back from "1% of angry" He-Man fans makes Smith not want to touch more popular franchises.
