i cant wait to get my hands on this so i can place of my Mercedes cars on display
>>9176870I got a free box from a seller and it's this kind. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001779649380.htmlOne of my cars look really nice inside it. I wish I could get a few more but I'm afraid they'd break in transit.
I have no Bigfoots :'(
I need ideas for bits to add to this that don't look stupidly out of scale with it, anyone got ideas?
>>9176730>Post your Bigfoot trucksI have this original Bigfoot from Greenlight I got not too long ago, and it's pretty amazing. I've got a couple of other monster trucks stashed away at my folks' house with the rest of my childhood diecast, I should dig them out.
>>9177345That monstrosity is in scale with nothing>and i kinda dig it
>>9177345Wh-what are you trying to do?
>>9177345Take out the surfboard.
>>9176730Holy shit, guys. Look what I found on a diecast group on facebook. Budizf is the artist.
>>9179242better?>>9179664kinda, want to make a cyberpunk-ish battle car, but I'm not sure what to add.>>9178631have fun.
>>9180263Slicker tires, something like a laser weapon, if you're painting it add digital looking waves, and reduce tire size back to stock.Cyberpunk doesn't go for the big tires and dirt look unless you're pulling an apocalypse.
>>9180263Try looking for retro futurist stuff.
>>9180816>>9180263Old Sci fi vehicles, maybe.
>Omg a heckin superino errorino>>9179824nice
>>9181159You lucky son of gun Anon niice.
>>9181498Stop shilling your YouTube channel
>>9181581Not my channel, schizo. Just the first video I've seen to have the Rainbow Road set.
>>9179824I would like the dragon one please to be added into my collection. (I wish) that’s sooo dope anon. :3
>>9181627Yeah sure faggot, take that shit somewhere else if you want to be grooming your audience.
>>9181983Take your meds.
>>9182063I'm waiting for you to start taking them nutjob.
I used to collect hot wheels as a kid, but the I moved and my collection got lost, so I started to collecting again this weekend, any recomendations? No, I dont care about th or sth (altough it willl be nice) just want to collect what i like
>>9182588>any recomendations?I just got back into collecting for the first time since I was a kid, myself. I really like these Hot Wheels anniversary sets they've done every year since their 50th. They've used a lot of great castings in cool team colors. This year's set is orange, blue and white, but good luck actually finding them in stores, because I certainly couldn't.
>>9182588What's your preference in cars?Start there, and use it to open you up to other brands and parts of the hobby.
>>9182615Personally, I've been collecting custom Cadillacs since I found out how many of them Hot Wheels has done over the years.
>>9182623>Caddy>Has Evil Twin with it's brethrenAh, a man of true taste I see.
>>9182627Yah, Evil Twin is GOAT, I love how much DNA it shares with Cadzilla, which a kind anon here introduced me to. I'll probably nab some other decos of ET eventually, it's worth having multiples.
>>9182615yeah I saw the Cadillac, but I really want the old trucks
>>9182617Old cars and old trucks, Im mostrly into real life based castings.
>>9182680Go to Matchbox, HW has less overall quality unless you're willing to shill for 5-7 dollar castings that'll probably inflated due to scalpers.Either MBX or stick to something like Greenlight, former being as cheap as an HW but far more detailed and focus on real cars usually, and the later being pricier but has so much more detail.
I love Hot Wheels but this is one reason I've always been more of a Matchbox guy.
>>9182831Thanks for the advice
>>9176730Besides Hot Wheels, what are other brands that offer cars with spectraflame quality paint? I don't have a credit card so I can't buy a red line club membership. Also, I don't want to pay a reseller and getting all the equipment for making my own customs is kinda expensive. I just want some nice shiny cars.
>>9180276I want that cyberpunk apocalypse look though.
>>9181159Now that is something I've NEVER seen before! An error yes, but a Super Treasure Hunt error? Never! You got a prize there.
>>9182588One question, do you prefer extremely realistic looking stock models? Then for mainline, Matchbox has the best looking stock paint and "normal" stock cars. Now if you want rubber tires, metal on metal, meaning metal casting AND base, then Auto World. They have the best looking cars with the most detail of all US makers. The creme of the crop is Tomica Limited Vintage. They run $15.00-$50.00 each but are insanely detailed. Suspension, painted interior, detailed dash and steering wheel. They are pricey but so worth it. Also Hot Wheels Premium lines are good as well. They do Fast And Furious cars, and other movies licenses as well. The point is what do YOU LIKE? Do some research. I also race my cars and Monster Trucks so I don't keep them sealed, unless it's an error, or a special special car. Good Luck, but beware, SCALPERS have ruined the hobby. When someone INSIDE a store tries to sell you a Hot Wheel he hasn't bought himself for $20.00 you'll see what I mean.
>>9183081Matchbox detail has always been better. Although lately some "plastic" cheap bumpers have made some classics look lame, but Matchbox is the better of the two.
>>9176730Guys can you enlighten me on Tarmac Works? Is it worth it in terms of quality? Is it a full diecast body or some kind of resin/plastic?
>>9186597I do hate how tacky the grey plastic looks on mainline MBX models when they should look more shiny. Not even chrome, just something that looks like a bumper. I don't even sperg about it not being a metal base unlike some manlets. It's just the ugly shade of grey and the fact that it detracts from an almost 8/10 job on what's basically a 1 dollar toy car that's outdoing an HW in detail.
>>9176870I bought mine on amazon today. i had preordered with BBTS but they take so damn long to get stuff. as much as i told myself i would stop buying from amazon it was $10 cheaper and i got free shipping cause i'm a prime member.
>>9184923Maisto's models sometimes have metallic paint. But the quality of the model and the paint are sub par.>>9186578I hit a dump bin that I was late to. There should have been 3 or 4 supers, but I only found this one at the very bottom. I have a feeling the scalpers took the good ones and left this "trash" for someone to have. Luckily I like errors.
>>9182623>>9182646name of the cadillacs? the purple one looks awesome!
>>9188114>name of the cadillacs?gold one is "Evil Twin"orange is "Custom Cadillac Fleetwood"pink one is "Sugar Caddy" (picrel)> the purple one looks awesome! There are two purple ones. The one in the first pic is an original HW casting called "Bizarro", the second, darker one is "Cadzzilla", based on a real life custom for Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
>>9183081ill take the 2 door over the 4 door anyday. it just looks like a ford flex with a facelift
>>9183081Yeah, at retail level, Matchbox castings generally hit the mark more often than not.
>>9179824Beautiful stuff>>9181159Sweet. >>9182588Collect what you like.>>9184923Johnny Lightning's old holiday cars had similar paint. Hot Wheels Classics series has similar paint to the sth and id series. They're old so you'll need to check ebay/flea markets/etc.>>9186672I have a couple TW models. Diecast body plastic base. Overall detail level is good, quality control on their early stuff can be hit or miss but so far I haven't had any issues with them.
what axel tubes do you use? and is there a good way to glue axel bits into the tubes? or is it better to just not bother?
>>9181159>Cruella De VilThanks for reminding me I need to pick that up. 101 Dalmations was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and the look and sound of her car is one of the things I remember most.>tfw no battle-damaged hot rod version
>>9190367Damn. That would be nice. We need a line of battle damaged or post apocalyptic cars. I mean. They released like 4 exclusive crushed castings for the monster trucks and that battle damaged car from the James Bond movies.
>>9190416I almost want this. It's a shame all the bullet holes are just copypasta'd, though. They couldn't have at least done a few different tampos?
>>9190428i dont think they are THAT noticeable especially in a 1/64 scale, i'll say go for it if you really like it
tore open a Double Vision today. Had no idea the canopy opens and closes on its own when you tilt the car at a 45 degree angle. I had the original when I was a kid, but I don't remember it doing this. Honestly I think my old one was probably broken, even if it did.
>>9190784thats really cool, seems smooth too
Good day, anons. Finally found the big banana car.
>>9190810nice, also beautiful caprice! could you get more pics of it?
>>9187879>told myself to stop buying on amazonNot an amz shill but bezos has literally done more for you than the government and your family combined , in the last 20 years
>>9190798Yeah, it was an impulse buy just because I remembered having it as a kid, but I was kind of regretting it until I actually got it out of the package. It's a fun casting and the canopy gimmick really makes it a winner.>>9190810Jelly. My local stores almost always never have any Matchbox in stock. Seconding for pics of the caprice, love me a big sled coupe.>>9190845You're right, you're not a shill, just retarded.
>>9190845>worshipping billionaires just because they toss you a few penniesDo Americans really?
>>9190877Mostly just Democrats.
>>9190859Yeah, this is definitely one of my favs.
Finally after 7 months my local store got hot wheels, it was a c case and grabbed pic rel (completing the card set with my 2nd th ever) and the vettes 5pack.No delta and was a bit disapponted to see 8ball rodger is just a sticker on the base.Anyway for the first time in my life i've seen matchboxes (stocked with hws) and there were 2 of those "premiums" (ones with the card box and rubber wheels): bimmer 2002 and a land rover pick up. Really liked how the 2002 looked and its details, so now i know how those premium you talk about are.Sorry for the blogpost but it was an interesting find>sad feel when only option to get anything premium is pure miracle or pay from 20 to x yurobucks to a scalper on jewbay>>9182627Amazing couple, envy you
>>9190784>>9190859My gosh, this shit is glorious. Also, a sunday morning Camaro fest.
>>9191953republicans don't even need the pennies, they defend billionaires without personal cause beyond "maybe some day that'll be me!"
>>9192751Cool story bro. I always like themed art cars like that. JL did a whole set of Monopoly ones, I had a bunch when I was younger.>8ball rodgerWasn't there a gimmick hot wheels line that had a functional 8 ball car already? Or maybe it was just a dice car...
I like to check to the HW isle every now and again. Found this interesting one yesterday.
>>9193261Friggin iPhone. .
>>9193265>>9193261I bought one of those as well! Works well with other JDM stuff. I also moved recently and forgot I bought this highway mat thing. It's pretty fun to use as a backdrop. This is giving me the itch to buy or build a diorama.
>>9193265>>9193562That's pretty sick. Shame it doesn't have a light-up gimmick, I actually would have been in favor of that here.
some stuff I picked up at the flea market today>>9182588If your into the more realistic castings and you don't mind spending a little bit more Hotwheels' car culture line has some really good models
>>9194180whats that bottom one?
>>9177345put some tires and rope where the surfboard is. paint it matte black with some rust on the underbody and panels. scratch bullet holes in the windshield
>>9193562Nice mat and collection.
>>9182121>schizo calling anyone else a nutjoblol
>>9190810>>9191401That banana car looks funNice get >>9192751Jelly of those playing cards art cars, anon
>>9192751Three of kind, nice one Anon. :)
>>9186762I agree 100%. I don't need a shiny chrome bumper but make it look like a actual bumper, but as you said, $1.00 car $1.00 detail, but that being said Matchbox still blows away the mainline market. Mattel has some nice models, don't get me wrong but realistically Matchbox has it.
>>9188028Hey errors are unique and one of a kind. I HAVE A Borja Mustang where the Borja Tampo wasn't added. I also have a Mystery Model with a wonky base. A few others. The crazy part, most of my errors were either in a case I ordered or in a haul I didn't notice. REALLY sad part....I opened 3 of em without noticing! Ooops!
>>9176730The Kings of Crunch series from Greenlight are sick ass castings! No stores here carry them though! Bumble fuck Minnesota.
Matchbox already winning 2022 I seeI'm hyped but too many electric cars, nothing against them and I'm happy we finally get a Kia, but I was hoping for a better Kia than a Seltos, I'd go for the Carnival, Telluride or Soul. Also no Crosstrek :(( Lots of good stuff for basics/moving parts/collectors though. Also Dodge Durangohttps://lamleygroup.com/2021/07/26/matchbox-monday-previews-the-2022-line-from-the-gathering/
>>9193562I see you put cars with different manufacturers and scale in the same pic. meanwhile my 'tism cant even let me put cars from the same manufacturer in close proximity if I felt they have different scales ( e.g. hotwheels s14 being bigger than bmw m3) let alone from different makes.
>>9193562i got the same mat, is cool also nice cars
>>9196040A Soul would be great. I love those little guys.
I snagged a Land Rover, but found myself another error model, this time a Camaro IROC-Z. Looks cool with the mixed wheels, kinda like a drag car.
>>9198066>caring about errorsI'm getting into hot wheels for the first time since I was a kid. Do people really find these desireable/valuable? And what kind of "errors"?On an unrelated note, I just got a Studa-Beaker, I can't believe this casting got retired after a single year, over a decade ago. It's fantastic.
Can you buy these plastic strips? In hotwheels sizes?
>>9198118Only retards obsess over the value of errors. (Not you per say, but more like the dipshit 14 year olds on Ebay) Depends who you ask, I'd say no it's usually worth nothing different to the original car, maybe a cent or 2 higher but that's it.>I can't believe this casting got retired after a single yearMattel in a nutshell, make something really good then abandon it not expecting anyone to care when more than likely there is a market for that casting or series.Only this past 2 years have they been slowly starting to be more like their 2000's selves and that's still a bit of a stretch in the opinions of everyone but me in this thread. There might be a few more cars like it coming back if something like Nashole or 2JetZ is anything to go by.
>>9198118I find them desirable, but also I only like to collect errors I personally come across in the wild, rather than buying them off of ebay and other people etc. I don't intend to sell them off because I don't think they are collectible as in super treasure hunts and such or really worth anything over the normal value of a car, no idea what the value is but I would not be asking too much of them. I like to collect them because they are not as valuable and resellable as supers, and somewhat easier to come across on pegs and in bins. Usually keep mine in package because they are broken cars most of the time, so then they'd just be a loose broken car, so I like to imagine being in package adds to the charm, not to mention i can take a loose car and make it a fake error pretty easy, so it's kind of a sign that yes, it was like this when i got it, rather than faking it.It's a fun, but personal treasure hunt, for myself by myself. In fact the best thing about them is that they have not that much resale value so you don't have to be as anal about it like with super treasure hunts that you can sell off if needed
Spring 2020 let's gooo
>>9198483I don't obsess over the "value" of any of my Hot Wheels, since A)I don't sell them. B)I open 97% of all my cars and trucks. C)I like the errors because they are unique and one of a kind. Just a cool item to have. Hell I've opened my Super Treasure Hunts as well. Value for me is the fun I have collecting, not saying I have this worth this. I bring up "value" points because some people care about it. That's up to the collector. I personally think scalpers need to be eradicated from the planet, but hey......
>>9198134Wal Mart has them of side kicks all over the store. If you see a empty one and you ask, they'll probably give you a few. We tossed a crapload of those out in the trash. As for sizes, I've seen shorter and longer ones, but that's it.
Most of these "collectible" errors are easy to reproduce. Missing/misplaced wheels or missing parts are easy to make. Only "valuable" ones are additional printing/printing mistakes as it's almost impossible to do this on your own.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6boerzXMro
I'm curious now, what's a car you'd guys love to see become a casting? I mentioned the three Kias and Subaru Crosstrek I want in >>9196040, but there's more common city cars I'd love to see be made into diecast... I always liked 2000s cars like the Saturn Vue and Buick Rendezvous. I also think sedans like the Toyota Camry or a Nissan Altima would be cool. or an 90s-2000s Honda accord.
>>9198897This, I laugh at the anons who collect those "errors" thinking that have actual value
>>9198985Misprints are only valuable ones. For example Ford logo printed backwards is an interesting error. Or hood print misplaced so it lands on car's roof. Double racing numbers printed one over another. These are rare and unique finds. They are serious errors and even if you open case they will remain proven factory errors.Missing printing, missing parts, broken parts, etc.. can be fabricated at home. As one anon posted, there is even a way to open packing without damaging it and then re-seal it. Good luck with fabricating this.
>>9198985I'd ree thinking this is a (You)less reply, but that meme is gonna be stolen by me now. Yoink
>>9198985I had the inkling I was touching upon a sore subject for this fandom. Every general on toy has a few. Personally I don't see the appeal in errors unless it's really major or results in something awesome, but the diecast pegs at my local stores are always completely fucking empty, so it's pointless for me either way.Meantime, I just found out Hot Wheels did one of Syd Meads designs during my dark ages, shame it was just a stand-alone and not part of a series, but oh well. "Cyberpunk Cadillac police cruiser" appeals to me on just about every level.
>>9199294Thing I hate more is they don't make it anymore, and that there are barely any original limos in HW, last one being Ryura LX. Gov'ner if you're being generous.
>>9199308Yeah, i would have liked to see some more usage of it, HW is certainly lacking on limos. Wish they had used some different wheels on it; these don't entirely fit the future-vibe. I might try to swap them, but they seem pretty small, not sure what else would be a good-looking fit in the right size.
>>9197983A couple funky cars
>>91994856 wheels? But Mattel-sama you'll go bankrupt!
>>9199308>>9199323I have only 2. classic blocky limo, blue 'tour' something like these used in hollywood whateverand silver cadillac sixteen concept with weird wheels like this
>>9197401Nice you ever take any photos with it?
Buying more overpriced boomer shit. But it's gorgeous boomer shit. Seriously, though, half of these redline club cars I've bought, the packages have reeked of cigarette smoke. What's "HW DREW" supposed to mean?
>>9200006had a calendar with a Cord on it as a kid. Always wanted it in diecast but never found one before I stopped collecting. God bless the internet.
>>91767301/64 Gas monkey garage reissue fucking when?
"Antifreeze" is a pretty damn accurate name for this color. I almost wanna drink it.Sorry for spamming, I've been getting new stuff in the mail almost every day and my serotonin levels are peaking.>>9200170I'm hyped, looks fun, reminds me of some of the pretty great Speed Racer games back when the movie came out. I hope the inevitable DLC packs aren't too pricy; the roster is good, but there's still a lot more cars I'd like to see.
>>9189010Just picked up this blue series 62 from this years Cadillac series to go with my gold Deville. I've named them Booster and Beetle. They're best friends.I wouldn't mind seeing more of peoples' favorite matchbox castings, especially stuff from the past 10-20 years. I've got a lot of catching up to do.
>>9200170Is it just me or the graphics seem a bit dull and dated?
>>9199485Neat haul, anonI need to get me a magic ball car too
>>9198903>what's a car you'd guys love to see become a casting?Specifically, I'd love to see this old 48 racing Caddy, but I'd settle for more antique racers in general, besides the usual 1960s stock car fodder.
>>9198903We need more roaring 20s cars.
>>9200170Stop shilling dev I couldn't care less about, take this shit back to /ovg/
>>9200202I have the Cadillac DeVille Matchbox had done in "premium" line. A couple years back. Rubber tires, nice paint and details. As well as the mainline ones. Matchbox has been stellar with the older Cadillacs and other GM cars. I really want the Chevy Nova but I can't find it. The cases here barely make it to the shelves.
>>9200088???? I have the original Mattel Monster Jam Truck. Then the Spin Master re-issue after they took it over. I only grabbed the 2pk not the solo truck. But the Spin Master...much better looks, but not as fast.
>>9200341I lucked out and found 3 of the Magic 8-Ball cars. I opened one, kept one sealed, and got one for a friend....except he didn't want it. I like the bottoms they have the 8-Ball "comments' under the cars.
>>9199022With the technology today, the paint or deco removers, errors are fast becoming a new form of counterfeit items. By this I mean there are idiots on YouTube who show how to fabricate errors, and how to open blisters with little to no visible wear on the package. They are unique but unless I find it myself I won't spend a lot on one off eBay.
>>9200941You are talking about missing prints/deco. Meanwhile anon means decos printed twice or completely wrong. I don't know cheap home method to recreate HW decos. I know about removing them.
>>9200931>I have the Cadillac DeVille Matchbox had done in "premium" line. Was that the "Lesney Edition" line? Whatever that means? I've come across some cars from it, they all look great. Was thinking of nabbing the Olds Vista Cruiser since my collection is painfully lacking in wagons.
I've recently got into Tomica normal and premium cars. So far I've been picking up a few in stores locally (singapore) but for a few models, they're already sold out. I hunt on other places, like AliExpress and Shopee. I wanna know, is there a quality difference between the Tomica releases of different countries? As in, domestic Japan releases vs Singapore vs China vs Indonesia (as a lot of Shopee sellers ship from Indonesia and they have their own safety tag on them)? Be it paint quality, QC, materials used. They all have "Made in Vietnam" stamped on them so far.Eg of a China domestic label - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32920263847.html
>>9180263>better?Yes, much. I think this looks like an Earth dune buggy or a cool planet exploration vehicle on its own.
>>9200931>Matchbox has been stellar with the older Cadillacs and other GM cars.Yeah, I'm a total Caddyfag, my grandpa had a ton of them when I was growing up, but pic related was the first I ever rode in. Been praying for a diecast version for years. I'd like to see a premium brand like AutoWorld or Greenlight tackle it, but I'm sure Matchbox would do a stellar job, too.
>>9201188Sorry I can't answer your question, but I've been thinking about getting into Tomica, too. You should post some pics of what you've got so far.Actually just pulled the trigger on pic related with some Amazon points, so we'll see how slippery this slope is...
>>9201377That's a beautiful car. I'll post 'em when I get some daylight. My favorite thing so far's gotta be the Nissan Leopard.
>>9200933I know. The spin Master trucks may look better but their axles aren't the best.
>>9198118Sometimes errors are valuable. >>9199022 this anon gets it.The buttmad spergs are right though. Mainline and basic errors aren't worth anything.
>>9197983That actually looks really good with the GHO in the rear. I might have to do a swap now haha
>>9202078Oh man!!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR T HUNT!!!! :D
>>9200593Get a horse!
>>9198134Check uline they sell all kinds of stuff for stores. >>9201188I've gotten tomicas from japan, korea, and china. I haven't seen a difference in quality.
>>9199022Somehow, the beautiful overlay of red and orange reminds me of this Catcher in the Rye cover.
>>9198505what the fuck did they do to trak tune's wing?
>>9190877>Do Americans really?yes. yes we do. but you euros worship the EU because they toss you guys a few pennies to make up for the taxes just like us
>>9201377Got a few pics.
Picrel's the Nissan Leopard. I love the champagne gold and cream interior. >>9202963#5 is China domestic, #6 is Singapore domestic. Nissan GT-R. But both produced in Vietnam.
>>9202966Another fave, Lamborghini Miura Jota.
>>9202968The best part is you can open the boot thing.
>>9202971Last one. I got a Majorette Nissan GT-R to accompany the Tomica GT-R and it's also beautiful.
>>9202758Retooled the body to cut costs yet again.
>>9202758Please understand we are just a small company goy
>>9200362>I'd settle for more antique racers in generalThe monkey's paw curls back one finger...
>>9203306Seriously tho, HW has made several variations of the regular Hudson Hornet, so you at least got that. No doubt HW made a Hudson Hornet mold just by the Cars recognition alone.
>>9203306Doc's one of the best characters. I keep wondering if the Cars 2 movie with its "James Bond in Monaco with gangsters but they're all cars" was real or a fever dream.
>>9203404Yeah, I never understood the hate for Cars 2. It was a pretty fun movie.
>>9203668I liked Cars 3 too, though, Cars 1 still resonates the most with me.
>>9176730I keep telling myself I don't have room right now for more monster trucks but they really pulled on my love for glow in the dark stuff
One of these days I'll find another short card european super treasure hunt, no matter how many years it takes
>>9204578Be prepared to buy entire cases then.
>>9203873>>9203876I'd be more okay with Glow Wheels if they used different colors other than green. They make other glow in the dark colors, Mattel.
Been working on my police squad, just got these two in. I love the big golden badge engine on Speed Trap, and I had no idea Whatta Drag was a modded BMW Isetta until I got it in hand and noticed the door on the front. Such a fun little car, I might grab a couple of other repaints.

>>9205577I'll kill for a casting of any 20th century concept car reallyalso very nice ford concept, honestly wouldn't look out of place if released today, considering the existant of the cyber truck

>>9202963>>9202966>>9202968>>9202971>>9202977Oh, damn, thanks for the pics, this stuff is gorgeous, especially that Lambo. The Nissan is great, too, I've always been a sucker for champagne gold. Great collection, anon.
>>9205617Yeah, I read that on the HW wiki, but I hadn't seen the pic, thanks anon. My favorite Hot Wheels are the unlicensed mods of actual vehicles; I've been using the wiki to search for cars I want to buy, but there's no way to sort by mods, so I just have to stumble upon them.
>>9205215>Jeff GordonYou know, it's weird, but I hate him. I was never a diehard NASCAR fan, but my dad was, and he hated Jeff Gordon, so I did, too.I watched a long time ago, so my favs were dudes like Alan Kulwicki, Ernie Irvan, Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace. The latter was my dad's fav, so I had a little collection of Rusty Wallace cars going; I used to buy them from a vendor at this little shit-hole racetrack we'd go to for pro-stock and midget races. Haven't thought about it in a while and now the memories are flooding back; I can practically smell the methanol, burned rubber, and overpriced fried foods. Good times.
>>9200202>>9200931that matchbox deville is definitely one of my all-time favorite landyacht castings. It's smaller than it should be, overall, but that's probably what allowed the designer to capture the proper proportions better while still fitting in the standard package
Basically every hunt.
What are some castings that you find annoying/disgusting?1/4 This fucker
>>92065973/4 rv there yet Fuck them fake wheelsWhat the fuck?
>>9206600kek i agree the fake wheels just ruins the otherwise cute casting
>>92065974/4 poppa wheelieI like frankencars, but there's something about these that just annoys the fuck out of me. Like those fossil Franken-Pokémon
>>9206546>non-empty pegssorry, can't relate.>>9206592While I don't love this, I think the deco is just wrong. It needs to be all beat-up and rusted like something a redneck mechanic built for shits. And it should have mismatched wheels all around (has HW ever done that?) Then I'd probably like it.>>9206597Don't hate this at all, but it's far from my favorite Gremlin mod, pic related>>9206600Well we know that 6 wheeled vehicles lead directly to Mattel's bankruptcy, so please understand. Otherwise it's pretty adorable.>>9206618I don't know what to even think about this, but I still don't hate it. Not that I'd pay money for it, though.I guess, me just getting into Hot Wheels after mostly collecting other toys, I find it hard to be annoyed or disgusted by anything so small and cheap. Usually my disgust with a toy is based on its shittiness-to-cost ratio, but HW are dirt cheap and generally all do what they're designed to do, and sometimes even a good deco can warm me up to a casting I otherwise dislike, so I guess I'm just easy to please.
>>9206655There's something annoying about potentially nice thing that got fucked by design. These are the pokemon that I'm talking about here >>9206618
>>9206592Basically every "dad joke"-mobile.
My Police Squad (In Color) is coming along. Just got Rocket Oil Special in today. Only a couple of others I have my eye on right now. Post your favorite cop cars to give me some more shit to buy!>>9206717I wouldn't buy it, but I don't hate it. The Hot Wheels flame toilet paper roll on the side is hilarious.
>>9176730Vintage bigfoot Lanard toys
I love the sculpted tools in the back of Baja Bruiser. I also like that it has the same engine as Sugar Caddy.
>>9206913Not my favorite, but whatever. I have seen the black version so many times. I'm not buying it, because ACAB
>>9206618>The HW Poppa Wheelie is actually a Reliant Regal with a hot rod engineWhat the fuck.
>>9207193I hate cops, too, but I love police cars and always have. I blame The Blues Brothers. Honestly the cars are fine; they're not racist, they just do their job.
I live for this.
>>9207193There are so many nice police tomicas. I don't want any of them due to your reason. I just get the non-special plain ones.
Just got this VinDieselmobile and holy shit I love it. I think the wide body kit plays rather nicely with the classic "coke bottle" lines.
>>9207390Oh man this shit is so cool. Wish I can get my hands on one of these in my shithole.
>>9206592RV there yet for sureFlinstones carJetson carAny disney character carAll batman cars except pic related
>>9207892lucky find, i so wish i could find the green eclipse of that set.
>>9207936Yes, the Eclipse goes like a hot cake.
>>9205790sega games series is based
>>9206913My first Rogue Hog
>>9207015Are those claws in the wheels? Sweet>>9207034I always love when they sculpt tools or other things in the beds of castings.
>>9206592>>9206597Both of these are really cool castings based on real race cars. I wish they would revive greased gremlin honestly.
>>9206913I like alpha pursuit
>>9208577>>9209446I like both of these, very sci-fi. Might hunt them down, thanks!Been very much enjoying this, had it as a kid but the plastic part was broken. It's nice to have such a lavish retool. Love the painted siren and jail bars.
>>9209408>I always love when they sculpt tools or other things in the beds of castings.Speed Trap has an assault rifle and a sniper rifle in the trunk. I can't tell what's beneath them because of the scultping in the rear window, but I assume it's some kind of riot gear.
>>9209661actualy from this angle, it might be some street cones a first aid kit, maybe? refreshingly less violent, if true.
>>9207193>because ACABAgreed, and honestly Hot Wheels even knew this, because the vanity plate for the Fire Chief repaint says "HEROIC", while the cop just says "BOSSHOSS" (even though my shitty phone couldn't focus on both at once)
>>9209756the best thing would be if they had a pizza delivery truck that said "HEROIC"
Have Hot Wheels ever made a Spinner model? For both the original movie and the 2049 ver
>>9209674Whoa! Are these an ItalDesign GT-Rs? 1:64, I suppose?
>>9210055Yep, 1/64 from Era Car.
there's treasure hunts and super treasure hunts, this is just a regular, right?Picked up two because I wanted to try painting them.
>>9209804No, and I haven't really seen in true cyberpunk era cars in the lineup. NO Syd Mead's limo doesn't count, neither does the cops we just posted!
>>9210109>this is just a regular, right?Yes. Supers are the one with rubber tires.
>>9210109Super Treasure Hunts have a gold circle flame logo behind the car, as well as rubber tires, and spectraflame paint. That basically means a higher end paint job, glossy and more detailed.
>>9209804I remember Hot Wheels making Demolition Man cars for the Stallone/Snipes movie. They had the cop car, and some oddball ones. The movie lines are increasing but Mad Max type, nothing! Sucks!
>>9209591Beautiful casting! I remember having the original WAYYYY BACK! Always a favorite!
>>9207390Beautiful.Had some good finds in Alaska last week.
>>9211423Noice. The green lambo makes my heart melt.
Cadillac on a cat I like.
ive decided to start collecting diecast cars, so far i have >2x chase elliot NASCAR cup car >kyle busch cup car >scott dixon, graham rahal, and takuma sato indy cars i have a denny hamlin car coming in a week or so thanks for reading
>>9212101pics or it didn't happen
>>9212109 not a duplicate reply
>>9212165>>9212171Nice, I especially like the indy cars.
>>9212194yeah i like the detail in the sponsors and stuff. theyre a little flimsy but thats okay.
Man, Technetium's final design was a downgrade from its concept art.
>>9212436Fuck off accelefaggot, your zoomie kind isn't welcomed here.
>>9212171As another anon said NICE Indy cars. I wish I could get more of those. The Greenlight cars aren't sold here in PoDunk, Shithole. We barely get Matchbox. One case every 6-8 wks.
>>9212165I have a few older Indy cars from Mattel. Rubber tires. But those look really detailed! Greenlight? Either way as I said awesome cars!
>>9213159I think they're nascar authentics. Spin Master used to make them. Not sure which company got the license now.
>>9212165>>9212171Be sure to track down some IMSA cars while you're at it.
Got some new stuf. ~30 USD for everything
Got Ice T in today. Another one I had as a kid, but the plastic top was broken. It was kind of an impulse buy because I realized I didn't have any yellow cars yet (and because a hot rod ice delivery truck is a pretty awesome concept), but it's really more of a green-yellow, which is fine.>>9213991Noice. What's the one on the bottom?
>>9214301DoorslammerGreat ones anon, wish could get something similar but i'm stuck on mainlines. What's the truck in the back? It's amazing
>>9214321>What's the truck in the back? It's amazingSteam Punk Truck. Yeah, it's definitely a favorite, even if it is more "Diesel Punk".
>>9214301This pic makes me go full DO WANT. Out of curiosity, what's the price on one of these magwheels beauties?>What's the one on the bottom?Nitro Doorslammer.
>>9214350>what's the price on one of these magwheels beauties? It depends on which one. In my experience, most of these polished Red Line Club releases range between 15-ish to 30-ish bucks on the aftermarket, depending on how popular they are with the boomers. Steam Punk Truck was 60, but my buyer's remorse faded immediately once I got it in hand.
>>9214422DERP, meant for >>9214363
>>9214477Yeah, it's a great casting. I think there's only one other release of it, but it wasn't even that much cheaper, so I went for the big-money shiny-shiny. HW really needs to bust this out again, it's clearly very popular, but we know how they are about six-wheeled vehicles...
But speaking of all-time faves, this 29 Ford pickup has been rolling around my desk for weeks. I love when a casting takes you by total surprise.
I'm also glad Ice T still uses its transparent plastic allottment to put some ice blocks in the back. I recalled the tailgate going down all the way, but I can only get it this far on the retool and I don't wanna break it.
>>9214301uggghh, I fuckin love green cars, i'm wicked jelly
>>9214935That's a classic casting. I have a van version which dates back to the 1970's, and I remember playing the crap out of it when I was young, and I still quite like it to this day. Wish they would make more old school cars like this.
>>9215012Deym I love this car.
>>9209804maisyo made one, I think, but not the main character's cars, those are just master replicas or whoever that did the special edition with the movie
>>9177345conclusion (for now.)
>>9213135highway35/acceleracers is millennial at best, zoomers had team hotwheeks and that track pooper car.
>>9216671Doesn't matter, dilate you filthy disgusting tranny. This is one of the last okay boards on /toy/ and we'd like to keep it that way.
>>9216849go wait outside a Kmart for your precious scalper bait, I may be a trans girl but I at least give a crap about staying on topic instead of flying off the handle at a car from a thing I don't like and ascribe incorrect eras to it because I dislike it.TL/DR: get mogged neckbeard.
>>9216660To be super honest, I like the road version more (an it would be even better without ugly molding lines).
>>9216884Jokes on you body mutilator, I don't collect go for scalped shit, unlike you who will pay 200 bucks for a beaten up discount Ferrari that looks like hot ass.Do the thread a server and ask this shit in /co/ from now on ok?>>9216660You paint the indicators silver?
>>9217155You will never lose your virginity, anon.
>>9217409Don't care. Neither will any of us. Try harder.
