First teaser shot of Tally Hawk on Quick Silver's arm.

I knew there were not going to do vac metal, but damn thats not even shiny metallic paint. This is just colored plastic like a Gundam model kit.
>>
I for one look forward to the Lio Convoy and Retro Blasting live streaming putting the company on full blast while the fans do the best work.

Why would they, that process just flakes off after a few years, shorter if you coat joints with it.
>>

Looks neat but it's kind of a let down that they wont be chromed. I guess they'll be aiming for the more cartoon accurate duller tones.
>>

There has to be a more permanent alterntive right? For all the advanced made in automation and manufactury, it's crazy to think someone hasnt cooked up a better alternative to chrome.

The miniscule R&D budgets in the tiny action figure industry go toward computers and product development, not materials research. Even toy companies rarely do materials research besides LEGO

They should use the metallic paint that Hasbro used for their Iron Man 2 figures and Silver Surfer.
Silver Surfer used a silver that shimmered and had shading to make it appear like it changed colors depending on the angle.

The IM2 figures looked ace as fuck, where you expected to see yourself in the finish.
>>
>>9078296
Despite that being the case, wouldnt the automotive or tech industries have discovered a chrome replacement by now? Surely the demand in both those industries would have yielded some result right?
>>
>>9078296
Possibly (I don't work in those industries so idk), but I imagine cars and tech don't care about durability. They want you to buy new cars and computers every few years. Meanwhile action figures are sold to kids who want to throw them at a wall without breaking, and adult collectors who want them to sit in a detolf for a decade without decaying. Very specific materials use case, and it has to be cheap enough in bulk to deal with shrinking department budgets and rising costs. Sadly action figures aren't a growth industry

It would have been nice to see a small company like S7 do a little experimenting... But I guess they mentioned they tried already in that one interview and couldn't get it to work
>>
>>9078116
It's just a render, so hopefully they're gonna colour the figure silver in the final.
>>
They'll sell animated style ones first then chromed ones after everyone bought those. It's typical of toy companies lately, they don't give you exactly what you want right away.

>>9078302
You really can't replace chrome and substitutes are usually shit, if not more expensive.
>>9078312
>I imagine cars and tech don't care about durability.
Dumb.
It's very important toward the appearance of their wares, so they do care a lot.
Cars especially are known for their long term dependability and a lot of former mainstays like General Motors suffered when they started cheaping out and were no longer reliable.

Tech though? They don't even need to cheap out, because shit environmental laws helped them out when they stopped using durable resistant materials like cheapass lead, and instead using more expensive (and less durable) materials because they had to.
Plus, with how fast software (applications, OSes, games) moves, old shit just can't keep up.... or couldn't. We've hit a wall where tech actually hasn't improved like it used to.
I still have my original iphone from way back when and it used to still work with almost everything up until like 4 years ago. Then pandora stopped working, then youtube, etc, and now it can't even get service anymore because ATT stopped supporting it (i switched to an HTC phone way back in 2010 though and have since had like 8 other phones since).

So quality tech actually works fine for a long time. It's support that makes shit obsolete.

Also, here's Silver Surfer looking as as fuck with its fineass pearlesque silver paint. You can see a hint of blue and pink that is more noticeable in person.

i dislike that sort of paint job, because metal flakes and shiny powder is ugly.

Whatever Hasbro used for their shiny metallics is infinitely superior that I'm sad hasn't been replicated since.

Here's the theme song. It's about a minute and a half long and rather succinctly summarizes the absolute 80s-tastic fever dream that was the silverhawks franchise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Kgfp9jpLg

Complete with the "you can't do that on tv" anymore steelheart ogle, quintessential impractically but thematically shaped base, monstar transformation sequence, and for fun, a giant robot with buzzsaw hands surfing a space limousine while fistfighting a chrome space babe while a space cowboy riffs on his laser guitar in the background.

After the silverhawks reveal, they still have to work on the next waves of transformers, ninja turtles, thundercats, reveal the power rangers wave they're working on, maybe hint at the godzilla thing they're doing, and then hit up a quick shout out to everyone who wanted tigersharks before silverhawks.

>>

>I'm glad she's in the first wave.
Not controversial. I'd say the big three were april, steelheart, and cheetara, in that order. (I'm sure I'm missing a big one, but those are the main action shows off the top of my head. Maybe Scarlett?)

What is controversial is her being in the first wave AND looking sexy rather than toned down. The main girl showed up in wave 3 of TMNT and Thundercats, so she shouldn't be showing up until at least xmas. On top of that, she's much more feminine than april and pumyra, and even cheetara, which is something I thought they weren't leaning into.

The main Super7 guy said in an interview (and I'm paraphrasing) that when they showed off thundercats, half the comments were "awesome/hype" and the other half were "what about silverhawks?" and then a year later they started to tease they got the silverhawks license and before they even put out teaser figures, half the comments were again "awesome/hype" and the other half were "what about tigersharks?" to which he responded basically "we're just starting silverhawks, calm your shit".

They're getting to it, but it's a made to order company and they've got a dozen different things going on. Tigersharks was implied to be coming after Silverhawks, so maybe they'll drop ~2022 or 2023 assuming things go smoothly.

0% (by 4chan standards).

-Buy what you like. It doesn't matter if you're a fan of the series or just like how the toy looks. We don't gatekeep here.
-It's made to order, by buying one, you're not depriving a hardcore fan of the toy, so not knowing who the character is doesn't matter.
-Supporting a small indie company like Super7 by buying sexy robot lady helps them make money and helps other fans get new characters in the future.
-Hajima Sorayama is a legend for the chrome sexy robot lady (google his work if you're not familiar) and his fanbase means you're not the only person who the aesthetic appeals to.
-DO NOT HOTGLUE

Combine these bullet points and you're not a degenerate. Also note a few of the anons in this thread are also surprised at how apologetically curvy this toy is compared to their other female figures. You're not the only one to notice and be intrigued as a result.

Not that anon but I'm in this situation too, I only heard of Silverhawks within the last year since people started talking about Super7 doing them and had no interest in the series.
But when I saw Buzzsaw and Mon*Star I was like "wow those are cool!" And now I'm totally on board, the other series villains like that minotaur and goblin guy with the staff seem cool too so I'll probably buy them too.
>>
>>9085239
>Oh fuck. I didn't know it was this same guy.
The cartoon is unrelated to the artist Hajima.

What I meant is, sexy robot ladies are a pretty common staple of pop culture, (pic related is itself a monroe reference), so on the degenerate scale, you're still not raising many eyebrows as even a Cheetara figure might be considered more degenerate by casuals.

The important part is only that you don't act like the crossboarders who came here for nicee/figma samus/that new terrible optimus/etc. Nobody cares if you're buying something horny, just don't act like a faggot about it.
>>
>>9085245
Ah, gotcha, oh well. But still, those robo pinups are exactly what I was thinking of when deciding to order her.

Also, I may have no knowledge of silver hawks, but I had this awesome bastard (and the tiny one that came with the figure) as a kid and I absolutely loved it.
>>
I keep hearing something about Super7 owning the Silverhawks IP, is that true.
>>
>>9085253
>those robo pinups are exactly what I was thinking of when deciding to order her.
They share a similar design for sure, a design that has proven to be fairly popular in the mainstream popculture world, that's why I brought the pinups... up.

>I had this awesome bastard (and the tiny one that came with the figure) as a kid and I absolutely loved it.
That's actually a silverhawks toy that's supposed to be Tally-Hawk, which is the pet bird this guy >>9085120 comes with.
So the fact that sexy robot lady comes with a pet bird that hits your nostalgia button for a childhood toy you loved is just another reason to pick the figure up.

...Seems like it, on the fwoosh forums a user found this. https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_ca/202018510249

It lists Brian flynn.

Hopefully they do more with the license like shop it to Netflix for a new series.
>>
>>9085255
Sort of. They currently have/own the rights to produce toys and merchandise for the Silverhawks IP.

They do not "own" the IP outright - they can't make a new cartoon or movie. Just toys and shirts and stuff.

Well shit, nevermind >>9085265 , I may be wrong.

Well that's interesting, a new cartoon could be neat but I fear it could disrupt what seems to be a pretty calm and docile fandom.

I'm thinking on buying Mon*Star and Steelheart. Probably Cheetra and Lion-O too.

>>9085125

How's the QC on Super7 stuff? I'm tempted by Mon-Star.
>>
>>9088085
Varies, I only buy their TMNT stuff atm and the turtles are known to have loose hips (though that may have been fixed in the rereleases) but in general their big figures like Bebop, Baxter and Mutagen Man don't have any major QC issues I'm aware of so I imagine Mon*Star will come out fine.

>>9088085
Bad.

There are some common issues such as bent weapons in package or loose joints, but for the most part people haven't had anything major to complain about.

I didn't forget to mention it, because it's not an issue.

Super7 toys do not need a hot tub to bathe in straight out of the package, and there is no expectation of paint chips and flakes to pile up on your table when moving their joints for the first time (and every subsequent time.) The incidents of major cracking in the paint are also thus far limited to figures like Rat King, which was not a Super7 figure.

These paint app issues you mentioned seem to be

Fair enough. I was talking about my ninja turtle figures, those are the only ones I have experience with. I admit I was wrong and concede that the pics you posted aren't the cleanest paint jobs ever, especially not for 50 dollar figures.

Having said that - about paint jobs, my super7 bebop is fine, and my neca krang is fine too (outside of the expected joint-flaking). I'm pretty sure the whole paint debate thing is mostly brand wars shit.

>>9095789
Super7 has the Godzilla license dipshit, and I'm looking at their past and current toys for reference to see what the pricing and quality for their Godzilla line may look like. These cheap-looking toys at nearly SHMA pricing does not instill any level of confidence
>>
>>9096287
They look exactly like what they should look like and match the show's models 1 to 1. All their other lines also do this and look and play great. Take your autism somewhere else.
>>
>>9096287
>I'm looking at their past and current toys for reference to see what the pricing and quality for their Godzilla line may look like

And you're disappointed... why? How are they garbage? Show me a better, more screen accurate tally hawk accessory that comes with Quicksilver produced by another toy company in the last 50 years. You're not getting what the company does.

>Ninja Turtles line are faithful recreations of the original toys, because they're only doing toy versions.
>Silverhawks and Thundercats are faithful recreations of the cartoon characters, because they're doing the figures based on the screen appearance and not the original toys.

You should actually check out their transformers line for an idea of what their Godzilla line may look like.

>There are a million transformer sublines and producers
>Almost all of them are contractually prevented from making a "transforming" transformer
>Super7 made action figures of both popular and very obscure characters right off the bat, with obscure or meme-ish accessories, because "fun and offbeat" is the thing that has never been done before with the franchise.

So uh, I personally wouldn't be surprised if their godzilla comes with basketball shoes and a hoop.

Or. On the other hand, the company started as a fan magazine for vinyl godzilla figures. So they might be very faithful to the original 4-5 poa vinyl toys from way back when. Or they do "serious" toys to compete with all the other toylines doing the same thing. Or they do something else.

I'm pretty sure you're going to be disappointed by anything they do. 55 bucks is the baseline for their figures. And you won't have it in hand for about 8 months - 1 year after ordering it. It sounds like you're looking for japanese import quality toys at the scale and significantly cheaper price of mass produced american toys. Super7 is neither of those things.
>>
>>9096957
When NECA can make better figures for half the money they should fuck off with whatever they think they are.
Not one single person is going to be happy with $55-$85 godzillas that look crappier and articulate less than what is already available that will also be harder to get if you miss a PO and take as long as you said after ordering.
They can do something different all day if they like but that doesn't make it not shit.
Their reaction figures alone are some of the worst, most overpriced shit on the market right now and the ultimates are not much better. Totally undeserving of the word Ultimate.
>>
>>9097229

>>9078121

>>
>>9096287
Super7 has no original works or concepts of their own, so I'm predicting they'll base their line off the Trendmasters one in the 90's.
